"The title of my piece for the Autumn Project is called “Falling”. It is based on a field recording of fore and aft engine rooms on the Suur Toll museum ship in Tallinn Estonia. "I was very drawn to the percussive metallic clangs in the recording. For me autumn has a definite impact on my senses, which reminds me of distinctive percussive sounds coming from unknown directions. I do a lot of walking, and this is my favorite time of the year to take in the visual and audio changes. They have a definite impact on how I see and react to my natural surrounding. "Before starting the recording process, I did a long walk in the woods, and besides the crunching of twigs and grass, there was a bird that seemed to be following me as I walked, singing its song. This walking experience determined the sounds and direction of this piece. And the obvious title is from watching the colored leaves “Falling”." Tallinn ship engine room reimagined by Jeff Dungfelder.

Patrick is wrapping up his Eruotrip! As agreed, he's carted himself off to the Eastern bloc and is going to be telling you about all the Estonian thing he can think of. Fresh off a night of drinking with locals and tourists, and barely making it back to his hotel in a drunken stupor, the alcohol has worn off and the fluids have been replenished enough for him to stream to you good people. What will Patrick get up to tonight before he jets off to Paris in the morning? It's the last stop before he speeds back to the United States and tries to get back on a schedule. ...
Tamara and Marc sit down with Nick to discuss their preparation for the upcoming Ironman 70.3 European Championships in Tallinn Estonia.

The Emerging Queendom book is a creative collaboration between Maria, a fiber artist and cross stitch designer from Tallinn (Estonia) and Paige, a writer and creativity coach from Tokyo (Japan). Perfect for fans of fantasy and fiber arts alike, The Emerging Queendom is a celebration of strength, healing, and feminine powers. It weaves together thirteen magical stories rooted in symbols and folklore accompanied by thirteen intricate cross stitch designs. Each story also features an original illustration, created by four female artists from around the world. The stories in The Emerging Queendom showcase unique female archetypes and their strengths. But the tales of an ancient curse, a heroine's journey, and the crumbling towers are just a canvas to embroider messages of love, resilience, finding your own path, and having the right circle of friends to support you along the way. Maria's stunning cross stitch designs add a visual depth to the narrative, making the reading experience even more immersive and enchanting. The Emerging Queendom is scheduled to be released in early December, 2024. What do Intelligent Communities know that others do not? Intelligent Communities like Espoo (Finland), Dublin (Ohio, USA), Eindhoven (The Netherlands), Tallinn (Estonia) and the current Intelligent Community of the Year, Winnipeg (Manitoba, Canada) are no longer just “smart cities.” They have gone at least one level higher. In our Moment of Truth podcast series, we ask them when they realized that they had gone from “smart city” to Intelligent Community, and what exactly it means to them. We also ask how they managed to get there.

MSC World Europa and MSC Euribia will become the first LNG-powered vessels to join the MSC Cruises fleet next year representing an investment of €3 billion in Liquified Natutal Gas (LNG) ships with the construction on World Europa II due to commence in early 2023.These ships play an important role in the Company's commitment to achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. LNG is by far the cleanest marine fuel currently available at scale and it virtually eliminates local air pollutant emissions like sulphur oxides (99%), nitrogen oxides (85%) and particles (98%). In terms of emissions with a global impact, LNG plays a key role in climate change mitigation and the engines of these two ships have the potential to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 25% compared to standard fuels. In addition, with the subsequent availability of Bio and Synthetic forms of LNG, this energy source will provide a pathway toward eventual decarbonized operations. It was also revealed that MSC Cruises and the Chantiers de l'Atlantique confirmed the installation of a fuel cell pilot plant on board MSC World Europa known as Blue Horizon. The technology will use LNG to convert fuel into electricity at one of the highest efficiencies of any power solution available today, producing electricity and heat on board. The fuel cell technology selected by Chantiers de l'Atlantique (CdA) and MSC Cruises is the SOFC (Solid Oxide Fuel Cell) developed by Bloom Energy. The SOFC will reduce emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) by about a further 30 percent compared with a conventional LNG engine without producing emissions of nitrogen oxides, sulphur oxides or fine particles. It also offers the advantage of being compatible with LNG, as well as several low carbon fuels such as types of methanol, ammonia and hydrogen. This project will form the building block for future larger installations and the beginning of an even closer collaboration between MSC Cruises and Chantier de L'Atlantique on R&D of fuel cell technology. The traditional coin ceremony tradition took place as the keel was laid for MSC Cruises' second LNG-powered ship, MSC Euribia, which will be one of the most environmentally high performing contemporary vessels built in France. Anne Claire Juventin Responsible for Quality Control from the Chantiers de l'Atlantique, and Valentina Mancini, Brand Manager from MSC Cruises performed the traditional maritime ritual as godmothers representing the ship owner and the shipbuilder when they placed two coins under the keel as the historical sign of blessing and good fortune for the project, and the ship's operational life at sea.The float out of MSC World Europa, which will be the first LNG-powered vessel to join the MSC Cruises fleet took place at the shipyard in Saint-Nazaire where she will now be moved to a wet dock for work to continue on the ship until her delivery in November 2022.NCL Homeports in Panama City Norwegian Cruise Line, will become the first cruise line to homeport in Panama City, Panama, offering roundtrip Panama Canal voyages beginning 20 March 2022 with Norwegian Jewel.NCLK (Parent company of NCL) signed a multi-year agreement with the Panama Tourism Authority which allows the Company to seasonally homeport at the Colon Cruise Terminal as well as at Fuerte Amador Cruise Terminal located on the Pacific Ocean side of the country and adjacent to Panama City.In 2022 and 2023 the Company will offer 12 homeport voyages starting with Norwegian Jewel on 20 March 2022 where she will sail a nine-day itinerary traversing the Panama Canal and visiting incredible destinations including Puerto Limon, Costa Rica; Oranjestad, Aruba; Willemstad, Curaçao; Kralendijk, Bonaire and Cartagena, Colombia before arriving to the Caribbean side of Panama in the city of Colon.Starting 14 January 2023, Norwegian Gem will also feature select Panama Canal voyages including an 11-day journey visiting seven ports of call, including Puerto Limon, Costa Rica; Oranjestad, Aruba; Willemstad, Curaçao; Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic and Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos Islands before ending in New York City.

Lawyers on Fire spoke with Kaspar Korjus in Tallinn/Estonia, a truly inspiring and thriving startup hub. Inspiring indeed was the discussion with Kaspar as well which is why we split it into two parts. Kaspar has been the most citied Estonian by global press in 2017 and 2018. He is listed by Forbes Estonia `30 under 30´ people as #1 in Technology and Finance and was elected by US CTO Megan Smith as one of the 20 global digital leaders. In 2019 Kaspar was nominated as JCI 10 Most Outstanding Young Persons of the World. Furthermore, Kaspar was awarded the Order of Orange-Nassau by the King of the Netherlands, His Majesty Willem-Alexander, in recognition of his notable contributions for the betterment of societies worldwide, making him one of the youngest knights you could ever encounter. If that’s not enough, he has recently co-founded Pactum. Pactum helps companies to improve every contract they have ever signed by automatically negotiating contracts on a massive scale. The system learns to understand the value of different contract terms and uses AI to perform high-quality and considerate negotiations that reach a win-win outcome. The second part of the interview is about Kaspar’s role in transforming both the public and private sector globally. As founding Managing Director of Estonian e-Residency (2014-2019), Kaspar is helping governments worldwide to become truly digital and borderless.

Wired magazine has called Estonia “the most advanced digital society in the world.” The President of Estonia (a woman — yay!) just published an article about how “Estonia is running its country like a tech company” and that “governments must learn to provide public services as efficiently as Amazon sells books: no physical presence, no cost of application, no opening hours.” Sounds pretty great to me. And to Julia Barrett, an American who was so excited by what’s going on in Estonia that she moved there to help develop e-Residency 2.0. E-Residency is a government program that bestows e-Residency to non-Estonians around the world. Julia also represents e-Residency in its partnership with the United Nations. In this episode, Julia talks about what’s like to live in the world’s most digital society. And how despite all the tech, Estonians still cherish nature and traditions like jam making and baking black bread. What adventures are there to be had on the Baltic Sea? Culture, food, and fun in cities like Kiel (Germany), Copenhagen (Denmark), Stockholm (Sweden), Tallinn (Estonia), and St. Petersburg (Russia). Gather amazing experiences and enjoy, until a typo ruins everything. Then, it's a "travel whammy!" In this episode, Gail and Piper discuss recent travels in Europe as well as what happens when your luggage doesn't quite keep pace with you. Also, what's the most versatile garment? The swimsuit. Why you ask? Gail shares her tale of traveling to Italy as a young, innocent archaeologist who arrived for a months long stay with only a container full of plastic bags, which is not what she packed for herself. Travel whammies are those moments when what can go wrong, does. The harder you struggle, the more like quicksand they become. So what do you do? First: post to social media. Second: adapt and overcome. Time Stamped Show Notes: 0:35 - Intro 0:54 - Where did Piper go?
Meil kõigil on elus põld, aga kui me räägime Jumala Sõna usus, külvavad räägitud sõnad seemneid meie põllule. Me saame ennast paremaks teha läbi viljade, mis meist esile tulevad.
Tähendamissõnas talentidest õpetas Jeesus, kuidas kasutada kõiki Jumala antud ande. Jumal andis meile, millega me hakkama saame, meie ülesanne on seda kasvatada.
Me peame austama kõiki, sest meis kõigis on aare teiste jaoks.
See on, mida me jõuluajal tähistame.
Vaenlane püüab saada kahjulikke asju sinu koju. Me peame valvele jääma isegi väikeste asjade vastu, seeläbi hoiame oma kodu õnneliku ja ohutuna.
Meie kodud võivad olla taevas maa peal, kuid on asju, mida sa pead tegema, et hoida oma kodu turvalisena. Saatana peamine sihtmärk on meie kodud, ent Jumala ligiolu meie kodus toob muutuse.
Tips for travellers about Tallinn Estonia. This modern city was home of Skype and is a very connected city, with a lot of history. Tallinn, like many parts of the Baltic states, has modernized at an astounding rate since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991. Yet the Old World ambience within its walled town center has been beautifully preserved. In the 15th century, Tallinn consisted of two feuding medieval towns: The hill-topping upper town — called Toompea — is from where the country of Estonia has long been ruled. The lower town was an independent city, filled with mostly German merchants who hired Estonians to do their menial labor. Today, Tallinn is a fascinating blend of pleasing towers, ramparts, facades, "striptiis" bars, churches, shops, and people-watching. Tallinn is a mix of east and west. Its Nordic Lutheran culture and language connect it with Scandinavia's Stockholm and Helsinki. But two centuries of Tsarist Russian rule and nearly 50 years as part of the Soviet Union have blended in a distinctly Russian flavor. Tallinn has modernized at an astounding rate since the fall of the Soviet Union, while also remaining one of the best-preserved medieval cities in the north of Europe.
