As Jesus continued in His High Priestly prayer to His Heavenly Father, He prayed specifically for HIs disciples. Pastor Al Dagel brings this emphasis to us today.
Colorado, 1880. Former Major League Baseball pitcher, Steve Trachsel and Chef Jason Morse with help from pitmaster, Doug Scheiding, sling a heaping helping of baseball and barbecue talk on episode 323 Steve Trachsel was a Major League pitcher for 16 years. Known primarily for his time with the Chicago Cubs and the New York Mets, he also played for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Baltimore Orioles. He first joined us on episode 127 and then again on episode 143 during which he discussed a masterful gem he threw against the Boston Red Sox as he outdueled Pedro Martinez. In this appearance we discuss the game he pitched on August 26, 2005 as he returned to the rotation after an injury and beat the San Francisco Giants 1-0. The one run was supplied by David Wright's solo home run in the second inning. Steve is a huge fan of barbecue and we are joined by Pitmaster, Doug Scheiding as all of us talk baseball and barbecue. Chef Jason Morse aka Chef J had his first experience grilling and smoking meats when he was a Boy Scout. His passion was further stoked during childhood visits to the Hawaiian island of Kauai, where his grandfather served in the U.S. Army, exposing him to a culture that honors fire-smoked cuisine. As a teenager, Jason was frying up tortillas at a Mexican restaurant and honing his knife skills at a steakhouse in the suburbs of Minnesota. Jason then pursued a culinary degree at Johnson & Wales University. Chef J serves as Ace Hardware's national chef spokesperson and BBQ expert. He also runs a culinary consulting business, 5280 Culinary. He has led Colorado Proud campaign initiatives to promote the quality of locally produced meats and agriculture. Chef J led a healthy cooking education program for nearly 70,000 Denver, Colorado kids. His service earned him an invite to help launch a White House initiative called the ‘Chefs Move to Schools‘ program, impacting millions of kids in their knowledge of nutritious cooking. He is also the proud founder of Chef J's BBQ Provisions, a line of flavor-packed products that elevate his inventive BBQ recipes and can be found at Ace Hardware stores. In the final episode of the year, CannCon and Ashe in America take a wide-ranging but focused look at the ongoing unraveling of the 2020 election narrative, with Fulton County, Georgia at the center of the discussion. The hosts break down newly allowed access to physical ballots, the staggering costs demanded to comply, and why those costs raise serious questions about obstruction and accountability. The conversation revisits documented discrepancies in hand counts, repeated ballot scanning, deleted records, and sworn testimony regarding remote access to voting systems. From Georgia to Colorado to Arizona, the episode connects patterns across states while emphasizing that election interference ultimately required Americans in positions of authority to act. As the year closes, CannCon and Ashe reflect on the long fight for election transparency, the role of grassroots investigators, and why unresolved election crimes threaten the legitimacy of every other issue facing the country. This episode serves as both a year-in-review and a warning: without verifiable elections, nothing else can truly be fixed.
On the final episode of 2025, West Virginia Outdoors with Chris Lawrence looks back on a remarkable year across the Mountain State's woods and waters. Chris revisits one of the biggest themes of the year — a surge in new state fishing records — including conversations with anglers who set marks for blue catfish, largemouth bass length, black crappie, redhorse sucker, and redear sunfish. The show also reflects on a memorable story from Cherokee Lake in Tennessee, where a West Virginia angler landed a record-sized striper but chose conservation over certification by releasing the fish. The episode also returns to one of the year's most endearing moments with Brooke Markley, the 2025 West Virginia Trout Festival Queen, whose passion for hunting, fishing, and the outdoors shattered pageant stereotypes. From her elk hunt in Colorado to fishing Franklin's streams, her story became a highlight of the season. The year-end broadcast blends record-book moments, conservation ethics, community traditions, and personal stories that defined West Virginia Outdoors in 2025, closing the year with gratitude for listeners and anticipation for what lies ahead in 2026.

It takes a village to raise an Olympic hopeful. And sometimes, that village has to change ZIP codes. Brooklyn DePriest is a snowboarder for Team USA, hoping to make his Olympic debut at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Games. He competes in slopestyle. Brooklyn grew up in Northern California in a Sacramento-area suburb called Rocklin. The DePriests spent their winter weekends in Tahoe. Brooklyn's snowboarding talent quickly became apparent as competitions would result in him standing on podiums. By the time he was 12, his parents were advised that their son had the potential to go pro and maybe even go to the Olympics. The catch? He'd need to move for more specialized coaching. The problem? The entire DePriest family loved their home and neighborhood in Rocklin. "There were probably about 10 families involved in the neighborhood," Brooklyn DePreist said. We would ride to school on our bikes and skateboards every single day. We all played the same sport, so we were on the same sports teams." Neither of Brooklyn's parents came from a winter sports background. "The coaches are telling us, like, he has real talent, but we're like, does he? I don't know," Courtney DePriest, Brooklyn's mom, said. The DePriests made the tough decision to relocate to Vail, Colorado, where both their sons could attend a good school while Brooklyn pursued his Olympic goals. Seven years later, Brooklyn DePriest is a contender to compete at the 2026 Winter Olympics. This is one of the most candid conversations I've ever had with an athlete's parents about the sacrifice entire families make to follow Olympic dreams. Wendy B. Correa is a former music industry insider, radio DJ and now author with the release of her new book: My Pretty Baby (She Writes Press, Nov. 2025). Approximately 64% of adults in the U.S. have experienced at least one adverse childhood experience (ACE) before age 18, and nearly 1 in 6 people (17.3%) report experiencing 4 or more, according to the CDC. Wendy is on a mission to destigmatize and educate about ACEs and their effect on mental health through her new book. Meet former music industry insider, radio DJ and now author Wendy Correa. In My Pretty Baby, Wendy writes about her own riveting journey with ACE, including her time in celebrity circles, spiritual practices and a lifetime of healing from childhood trauma. The book is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and an urgent reminder that healing requires honesty, community and hope. Correa writes about being traumatized as young woman escaping a violent home, moving to California to discover herself, and along the way finds a career in the music industry, dates celebrities – Guns N' Roses' Slash would sit on the edge of her desk and flirt with her, hangs with music legend Joni Mitchell, meets Beatle's drummer Ringo Starr at her first AA meeting, and becomes journalist/author Hunter S. Thompson's assistant - only to uncover a devastating family secret decades later. In this episode we discuss: CELEBRITY ENCOUNTERS & SELF-WORTH: How Ringo Starr, Joni Mitchell, and Hunter S. Thompson shaped Wendy's journey of self-discoveryRECLAIMING LIFE AFTER TRAUMA: Her 40+ year healing journey using Buddhism, Native American practices, 12-Step programs, EMDR therapy, plant medicine and moreFAMILY ESTRANGEMENT & FORGIVENESS: How uncovering a long-hidden truth brought the closure she had always sought and discovering, finding and getting to know her half-sister.A CULTURAL CALL TO ACTION: Why our society must do more to address ACEs and support trauma recoveryBATTLE WITH ADDICTION: her journey abusing alcohol, nicotine and cocaine, and the turning point to become soberAbout the book: After escaping a turbulent home life, Correa's path of self-discovery encompasses Buddhism, yoga, meditation, plant medicine, Native American sweat lodges and vision quest, 12-Step programs, and psychotherapy. Along the way, she had extraordinary experiences: singing “Give Peace a Chance” on the Rose Bowl stage with rock 'n' roll royalty, working at A&M and Geffen Records, and spending time rock legends (mentioned above). Her life changes when she moves to Aspen and becomes a radio DJ and assistant to legendary writer Hunter S. Thompson. There, she meets her future husband and begins to build the family she had longed for her whole life. Despite her newfound peace, she is repeatedly drawn back into her family of origin's dysfunction. It is only after her mother's death that Wendy uncovers a painful family secret that finally answers her lifelong question: What really happened to my family?NYT bestselling author Sharon Salzberg says of Wendy's book: “In her deeply personal and candid memoir, My Pretty Baby, Correa's vivid storytelling penetrates the depths of her suffering with honesty and compassion, reminding readers that it is never too late to heal our traumas to live a life based in loving awareness."Wendy is also a yogi, hiker as well as a licensed massage therapist. Merry Christmas! Our holiday special Lodgecast movie this year is Tyler Perry's Finding Joy. Tyler Perry has been churning out movies faster than we can cover them in the past few years. He wrote and directed 4 movies plus 40 episodes of TV in 2025! Finding Joy dropped onto Amazon Prime Video in November. It stars Shannon Thornton as Joy, along with Tosin Morohunfola, Brittany S. Hall, Inayah, and Aaron O'Connell. Joy is a fashion designer in New York City who travels to Colorado for the holidays only to discover an unlikely love interest in backwoodsman Ridge (Tosin Morohunfola). In the Crimemas Volume I finale, Todd Hiles and Stewart Fillmore confront one of the most haunting and divisive crimes ever associated with the holiday season—the death of JonBenét Ramsey. On Christmas night, in a quiet Colorado home filled with decorations and anticipation, something went terribly wrong. What followed was not just a murder investigation, but decades of suspicion, missteps, and unanswered questions that would fracture public trust and permanently alter how America views crimes behind closed doors. This case became more than a tragedy—it became a mirror. Of media frenzy. Of investigative uncertainty. Of how quickly a moment meant for joy can descend into something unspeakable. With careful restraint and respect for the gravity of the case, Back in Crime examines the known facts, the enduring controversies, and the silence that still surrounds what happened that night. Some crimes never fade. Some questions never rest. And some Christmases are remembered for all the wrong reasons.Follow Texas Crime Travelers:TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@texascrimetra...Instagram: https://instagram.com/texascrimetrave...Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/texascrimetr...Substack: https://substack.com/@texascrimetravelershttps://texascrimetravelers.com/Have a specific case in mind that you'd like us to explore or just want to get in touch? In this special holiday replay episode, we revisit our conversation with Ashley Beckwith, founder of Foray Biosciences, who shares her groundbreaking work in plant cell culture and tissue engineering. Growing up in Colorado, Ashley watched forests disappear to housing development and wildfire—experiences that sparked her lifelong mission to reimagine how we produce plant materials. After training as an engineer and working in medical device development, she pivoted to apply tissue engineering concepts to plants, initially exploring lab-grown wood before discovering a more fundamental problem: the lack of accessible, efficient plant cell culture processes. Today, Foray develops fabricated seeds for forest restoration, creates harvest-free plant products, and builds AI-powered tools to accelerate plant science R&D. Ashley explains why plant cells are the fundamental building blocks for everything from molecules to materials to entire ecosystems, and how her company is working to solve the seed shortage crisis that prevents us from restoring 94% of post-wildfire sites. She also discusses the potential for de-extinction of recently lost plant species in California and the importance of creating regenerative rather than extractive relationships with plant systems. This conversation explores the intersection of synthetic biology, forestry, and biomanufacturing while reminding us that we are all, whether we know it or not, plant people.Grow Everything brings the bioeconomy to life. Hosts Karl Schmieder and Erum Azeez Khan share stories and interview the leaders and influencers changing the world by growing everything. Biology is the oldest technology. And it can be engineered. Barry and Abigail discuss This Warm December and sample März of the Penguins, No Country For Old Penguins, and Midnight Waddle from Sneaky Penguin Brewing Company in Raleigh, North Carolina. We briefly discussed Eggnogorant by friends of the pod Terry Anderson & The Olympic Ass-Kickin Team. You can listen to Eggnogorant in our first-ever Christmas bonus episode, Bonus: Greet the Hummels... and Friends! (Original Holiday Songs by Friends of the Podcast). We acquired this beer while we were in Raleigh in October, when we had the opportunity to see Brandy Clark and Mary Chapin Carpenter in concert, featuring both friend of the pod Jon Carroll and the legendary Don Dixon in Carpenter's band. See the setlist of the show we saw!We played a sample of Stevie Wonder's original Someday at Christmas, covered by Jack Johnson on this album. Barry mentioned that Wonder's version should have made his personal Christmas music compilation - and he would probably remove Xmas at K-Mart by Root Boy Slim.Bruce Springsteen's live version of Santa Claus is Comin' to Town is the definitive version in Barry's eyes.Barry plugged the recent Beer in Front episode 276 Fresh Wet Hopped Episode, where he learned about wet hopping, which uses freshly picked hops in the brew and is not the opposite of dry hopping - learn more here. The most famous and mass-produced wet-hopped beer is Celebration from Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. Dave interviewed Bruz Beers and FlyteCo Brewing, both in Denver, Colorado, who collaborate annually on a wet-hopped beer called Hop Is My Co-Pilot. The brewing of this beer involves an airplane trip across the Rockies to collect freshly picked hops from Billy Goat Hop Farm in Montrose, Colorado. Read more about the incredible journey here!Abigail and Barry both declared that Zee Avi's No Christmas for Me is a modern Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses (and that both of those songs are modern O. Henry stories).Abigail mentioned that Stuck at the Airport by Money Mark is thematically similar to I'll Be Home for Christmas by Bing Crosby. This is one of the songs Abigail will frequently be compelled to listen to when her life circumstances match the lyrics of the song - the other one is It's Only Wednesday by Crash Kings. The Man in the Santa Suit by Neil Halstead reminded Abigail of Father Christmas by The Kinks. We played a little sample of Matt Nathanson's cover of Father Christmas, which appears on our 2022 Christmas playlist!Abigail did not recognize that Rogue Wave's Christmas was a cover of the Who song from Tommy. She compared the lyrics to Do They Know It's Christmas? by Band Aid.Barry compared Jack Johnson's variant lyrics in Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer to many of the songs on the Straight No Chaser album we reviewed in last year's Christmas episode, Christmas Beers (Straight No Chaser and Gifted Beers).Abigail, per usual, got Silent Night confused with O Holy Night.Listen to our 2025 Christmas playlist!Up next… Touch by EurythmicsJingles are by our friend Pete Coe.Visit Anosmia Awareness for more information on Barry's condition.Follow Barry or Abigail on Untappd to see what we're drinking when we're not on mic!Leave us a rating or a review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify!Facebook | Instagram | Bluesky | YouTube | Substack | Website | Email us | Virtual Jukebox | Beer Media Group
Christmas Eve is a time filled with beauty, tradition, and reflection, but it can also be a season where pain, loss, and unanswered questions feel heavier than ever. In this powerful Christmas Eve message, Pastor Aaron Pennington invites us to slow down and ask the question at the heart of the Christmas story: What Child Is This?As part of our Songs of Christmas series, this sermon explores the story and meaning behind the beloved carol What Child Is This? Pastor Aaron walks through the origins of the song, the pain that shaped it, and how its message still speaks hope into our lives today. This message reminds us that Jesus did not arrive in comfort and perfection, but stepped into a messy, broken world to bring light, life, and healing.Whether Christmas is joyful or heavy for you, this message is an invitation to experience Jesus not as a tradition, but as the Savior who meets us in our cold and dark moments. Through Scripture, personal story, and the truth of the Gospel, Pastor Aaron shares how Jesus is God with us, Emmanuel, and how His life, death, and resurrection offer forgiveness, restoration, and new life for anyone who believes. If you are new to church, returning after a long time, or simply searching for hope this Christmas season, we are honored you are here. Trace Church exists to help people encounter Jesus and discover the abundant life He offers.Thank you for celebrating Christmas Eve with us.If this message encouraged you, consider subscribing to our channel and sharing it with someone who may need hope this Christmas. We would also love to invite you to join us in person or online as we continue into the new year. We will be back in person on January 4 as we begin a new teaching series called Uprooted, focused on removing what holds us back from the life Jesus came to give.

On Joe Oltmann Untamed today, Joe unleashes fury on the endless parade of corruption and distraction crumbs. He slams the Katie Hobbs scandal exploding to DEFCON-1 in Arizona, exposes Matt Gaetz's explosive revelations of the deep rot that drove him out of Congress, and demands to know why we are still just getting crumbs. From Minnesota's deadly Medicaid fraud killing citizens to Lindsey Graham allegedly laundering Ukraine war funds, Joe exposes the Uniparty's greed while Americans suffer and die.Powerhouse guest David Clements, former law professor, seasoned prosecutor, and fearless host of The Professor's Record, joins Joe to break down the urgent need to free Tina Peters. As a leading voice exposing election fraud and J6 injustices, David lays out how President Trump can use executive authority to override Colorado's defiance of the pardon, drawing on historical precedents of presidents liberating Americans from rogue state captivity. This is a high-stakes call for justice and a roadmap to dismantle the weaponized system silencing whistleblowers. The show closes with a brutal wake-up call: the Uniparty's real, the swamp is thriving, and distractions like Denver's giant see-saws mock our suffering. Joe declares enough is enough it's time to clean house, hold traitors accountable, and reclaim America before the rot consumes us all. This is Joe Oltmann Untamed: righteous anger, undeniable truth, and the battle cry to fight back. Tune in, wake up, and join the untamed resistance today!
In this episode, we dive into one of the most creative—and ill-fated—contraband plots in recent history. In February 2025, two Colorado teenagers were caught outside USP Pollock in Louisiana with an industrial-grade compressed-air cannon and nearly $200,000 worth of methamphetamine and tobacco. Their plan, dubbed "Operation Up & Over," was to launch the massive haul over the prison's high-security perimeter. We discuss the "arms race" of modern prison smuggling—from drones to cannons—and how a vigilant deputy stopped a major drug infiltration before a single shot was fired. It's a story of high-tech ingenuity meeting a colossal legal miscalculation. --For early, ad free episodes and monthly exclusive bonus content, join our Patreon! Attorney Bo Loeffler returns to the podcast to revisit with David the foundational principles of asset protection—what it is, why physicians need it, and how proper timing and structure make all the difference. The conversation begins with an overview of risk for physicians, from malpractice and employee claims to real estate liability and auto accidents and stresses the importance of addressing these risks before they arise. Bo and David emphasize the crucial concept that asset protection is only effective when implemented ahead of any foreseeable claim. The discussion then shifts to the three legs of the asset protection stool: proper insurance coverage, state-specific exempt assets, and legal tools such as LLCs and irrevocable trusts. Bo highlights how differences between state laws—especially Ohio's robust statutes—can dramatically impact the success of an asset protection plan. They also explain how tools such as LLCs and Domestic Asset Protection Trusts can be structured to protect against creditors through features like charging orders, sole-remedy statutes, and sate-specific limitations on creditor remedies. Finally, the episode examines real legal cases—including one in Colorado involving LLC misuse and one in Delaware validating long-standing asset protection trust structures—to illustrate what works and what fails in the real world. David concludes by drawing a parallel to medicine: asset protection requires both "surgery" (establishing tools) and "rehab" (proper, ongoing maintenance). With Bo's deep experience drafting state statutes and litigating these issues, the episode provides a practical, high-level roadmap for physicians looking to protect their personal and professional assets. Comment BY December 22nd.The ESA (Endangered Species Act), is under threat. The current administration wants to repeal the blanket rule, which automatically gives the same protections to threatened species that endangered species receive, such as prohibiting the harming, killing, or trading of those species. Without the blanket rule, each species wanted or needed to be added to the ESA needs to be added individually, which takes time, time threatened species might not have.
