In this episode of the Tactical Living Podcast, hosts Coach Ashlie Walton and Sergeant Clint Walton dive into a thought-provoking post shared in a police wives group: A spouse expressed frustration and insecurity (Amazon Affiliate) after discovering her law enforcement officer stayed at work to chat about department matters after his shift, instead of coming straight home as expected. This episode tackles how moments like this can trigger insecurities and a lack of confidence, especially for first responder spouses who already navigate the challenges of demanding and unpredictable schedules. You'll learn practical ways to address these feelings, improve communication, and strengthen your relationship. Five Ways to Improve Confidence and Manage Insecurities: 1. Communicate Your Feelings Clearly: Example: Instead of bottling up frustration, express your feelings calmly: “It upset me when you stayed late without letting me know. Can we work on better communication about this?” Why It's Beneficial: Opens the door for honest conversations and reduces misunderstandings. 2. Focus on Your Own Fulfillment: Example: Pursue hobbies, personal goals, or social activities that boost your sense of purpose and self-worth. Why It's Beneficial: Helps shift your focus from the actions of your spouse to your own happiness and growth. 3. Reframe Your Perspective: Example: Remind yourself that staying late to discuss work might be a way for your spouse to decompress or connect with peers. Why It's Beneficial: Reduces negative assumptions and promotes empathy in the relationship. 4. Set Healthy Boundaries: Example: Agree on a plan for checking in if plans change, such as a quick text or call if staying late at work. Why It's Beneficial: Creates mutual respect and ensures both partners feel valued and considered. 5. Build Trust Through Consistency: Example: Encourage open discussions about schedules and expectations, and celebrate when your spouse follows through on commitments. Why It's Beneficial: Strengthens trust and reduces the likelihood of recurring insecurities. How to Identify When Insecurities Are Rooted in Past Experiences: Learn how personal history or past challenges may influence your current feelings and how to work through them constructively. The Importance of Self-Care for First Responder Spouses: Discover why prioritizing your mental and emotional well-being is essential for building confidence and maintaining a strong relationship. Steps to Foster Mutual Understanding in Your Relationship: Explore how to create a safe space for both partners to share concerns and support each other's needs. Why This Matters: Being a first responder spouse comes with unique challenges, but moments of frustration or insecurity can also serve as opportunities for growth. By addressing your feelings openly, focusing on your own confidence, and building trust with your spouse, you can navigate these moments with grace and create a stronger, more supportive relationship. Enneagram Myers Brigg VIA Strengths InventoryIn this episode of the Fit Mom Podcast, Lauren will be talking about self-confidence. Low self-esteem can be a hindrance. However, increasing our self-confidence can improve every aspect of our lives. Today, Lauren her personal journey of gaining confidence and tips to help you change, build, and regain your self-confidence.Everyone Can Change[2:16]Everyone can improve their self-esteem. Just because you've been struggling with this your entire life doesn't mean you can't change it.Confidence During Postpartum[3:26]Lauren didn't recognize herself when she looked in the mirror during her postpartum period. She wasn't sure if she'd ever truly feel like herself again because it felt so permanent. However, this is not the case; there are always methods to change and begin to believe in yourself more truly.Clothes[5:23]You can have a great day wearing something that you don't used to fit into. It can alter your outlook on the day. This is an example of an external factor that can impact our self-confidence. If you're trying to lose weight, you can buy new clothes that fit your body, and you can replace those clothes as you go along.Improve Confidence in Any Scenarios[10:33]Lauren's method of regaining confidence in difficult situations was to reclaim her power, find a fitness routine that worked for her, and realize that she could do it. Thinking about what you are good at is a great place to start when figuring out how to reclaim your power.Challenge[14:34]The challenge for you is to do one scary thing that has been on your mind for a long time and that you know you need to do; something that scares you but will propel you forward. One example is walking into the weight room. Having a deadline and a coach for something you've always wanted to do is preferable. [17:42]The challenge could also be as simple as telling a friend or family member that something they said or did bothers you when you usually would not do so. This reminds you that you are powerful, even if you don't feel that way.Analyze Your Relationships[18:01]You must ensure that you are surrounded by people who want you to succeed. If you notice that certain people are bringing you down, try to spend less time with them or express your feelings.[20:22]Consider whether you are surrounded by people who share your objectives. Assess this carefully, as it is critical to surround yourself with people who understand and respect your sobriety. But it would be even better if you surrounded yourself with people who were also sober.Learn more about coaching opportunities Grab the FREE 7 Simple Food Swaps GuideSubscribe to the show and listen to more episodes on Apple Podcasts or Spotify
Confidence is often the "X" factor when it comes to performance. You can have all of the physical attributes possible but if you don't believe in yourself, you won't achieve your best. Conversely, you may not be the most gifted, but confidence will give you a lot of audacity to train harder, compete harder (especially with yourself), and push your limits. On this episode, I will offer 3 ways you can improve your confidence. https://www.ghperformance.com/strength-training-for-young-runners (Check out my new E-Book: Strength Training for Young Runners) https://www.gofundme.com/f/donalds-community-forge-fundraiser?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_campaign=p_cf+share-flow-1 (Check out my fundraiser for Community Forge!)

In this podcast, Anna is with Dr. Renee Wellenstein, a double board-certified doctor who has been working with women for over 20 years and due to her own personal health challenges, she stepped outside the box of conventional medicine to take a radically different approach to heal herself from the deep depths of burnout. Throughout her journey, she has had her fair share of obstacles and has mastered the art of leaping into transitions with each pivot! Her physical injury from the accident slowed her down on what she conventionally did as an OB-GYN and began to develop a victim mentality. After that, meeting her coach has changed her perspective in life and career. Now, Dr. Renee empowers women to take control of their health, jumpstart their energy, improve their confidence and reignite their libido! Let's know more about her journey and be ready to be inspired! They also talked about: 02:31 How did it all start with Renee 06:14 How her physical injury got her thinking to end her life 07:52 How she learned about Functional Medicine 13:57 Functional Medicine changed her life 18:03 How she was able to balance her mindset 22:01 How she started her online business 27:37 How she helps women 29.01 Best way to contact her 31:43 What does freedom mean for her Dr. Renee also taught us that we always have a choice. This is what I'm going to do. And it was I mean, I've never regretted it a day in my life as far as changing careers.” “Trying to find what makes me happiest? Where am I gonna get the most freedom and my happiness in being able to say what I want to do.” “I'm so thankful to have the flexibility again, to be with my kids, I can adjust my schedule around, you know, their schedule, and I can be on the podcast, and just spread the message of good health and my story has given women other women that I don't even want to say permission, because I don't think women need permission.” “So you know, it always changes hard. It's always a different pain, but like, You got to pick your pain, which one's more painful to stay in” “ It's not all perfect, you know, and even though I'm into health, I don't always have perfect days.
