Mary Hyatt, an expert in embodiment and alignment, provided valuable insights this week on the Play It Brave podcast. True alignment is not about doing more, but about living authentically and honoring your true self, rather than wearing masks to seek love and avoid pain. Mary shared her own journey of recognizing the masks she wore, and how misalignment manifests through symptoms like anxiety, procrastination, and self-sabotage. It is so important to listen to your body's wisdom, using somatic tools like breathwork, movement, and emotional release to come back into alignment. Mary also shared powerful examples demonstrating how tuning into the body's messages and making small, aligned changes can lead to significant life improvements. CLICK HERE FOR THE FULL SHOW NOTES.

Take an approach to business that partners with your heart, body, and soul, instead of adding to your task list Did you know that 92% of small business owners have experienced mental health struggles over the past two years? Between recovering from the pandemic and the constant pressure of hustle culture, entrepreneurs all over the world are prone -- more than ever -- to burnout and depression. I'll be honest, there have been plenty of times throughout my entrepreneurial journey that I've felt totally depleted. And although it's so tempting just to get back on the horse and keep grinding through those tough times, it's so very important to take a pause. Give yourself the time and space that you need, and then move forward -- because if left unaddressed, burnout can lead to some pretty serious mental health issues. That's why I wanted to have my dear friend Mary Hyatt on the show. Mary is a holistic mindset coach who helps entrepreneurs create a life and business that lights them up from the inside, and doesn't burn them out. She's coached some of the top female entrepreneurs, C-Suite executives, and business owners in the country, and also has built a 7-figure business -- one that she operates from a place of grace and ease. In this episode, Mary will share: How to get back into alignment with your most authentic self (and your business) when you're burnt out Why tapping into the language of the body is so important when making stressful decisions How living in true soul alignment can make a drastic impact on your business What you can do to have a life, and business that feels good This is a really great listen – so if you're interested in learning a holistic, action-oriented approach to overcoming your burnout, then pop in your earbuds and tune in! Here's a glance at this episode... [07:27] Mary helps women get back in touch with their emotions, body, and own internal wisdom to design a life and business they love. [09:54] Being in alignment is having structural integrity with the most true parts of who you are. [14:19] The first step is radical honesty or admitting that you're feeling deprived in some area of your life or business. [18:40] A coach can help you say "what if" when leaving a situation that isn't working. [20:23] Our physical bodies are a compass that helps us orient back to wholeness. Our bodies hold 80% of the wisdom available to us. [27:29] We all have an amazing source of wisdom and have the answers inside of ourselves. [29:52] Embodiment work recognizing that we have other bodies like physical, emotional, and a connection to something higher than ourselves. [32:20] Four factors of aligned action include your energetic capacity, your emotional capacity, what you value most, and the season of life that you're in. [39:23] Having soul alignment can make your business sustainable for the long run. Rate, Review, & Follow on Apple Podcasts "I love Amy and Online Marketing Made Easy."

Too busy to listen to what your body is telling you? Many times, we can get so caught up in the hustle of life that we can get so disconnected from our emotions. And when we fail to connect with our feelings, our bodies could manifest those in the form of physical pain or illness. In this episode, we dive deep into the mind-body connection as Mary Hyatt, trained love-centered mindset coach, Kundalini yoga instructor, and meditation and breathwork instructor talks about how we can all learn to embody our bodies, work through our emotions, and heal from trauma. Mary is also a Level II Reiki practitioner, a conversational hypnotherapist, a top leader with doTERRA essential oils, and a board-certified holistic health practitioner of Mind Body Spirit Release. Over 10 years ago, Mary was suffering from endometriosis. She was in constant pain that she was ready to check out of life until she discovered how her physical pain was only a symptom of what was really going on in her inner world. Her journey of self-discovery and healing ultimately led her to her career. In this episode, you will hear: Making peace with your body and making it your ally Trusting your body to heal itself How to listen to the messages of your body Understanding the internal felt sense The benefits of body awareness The connection between trauma and illness Talking about your feelings vs. feeling your feelings Understanding what your emotions need How we can deal with the emotions of our children The analogy of putting our emotions on ice The shaking practice to regulate the nervous system Practices to feel your emotions Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to our podcast? Today's episode of the podcast is a solo episode, where I talk about why comparison is the thief of joy and how staying in our own lanes is the key to success. This is something that I have had to learn to focus on over the years, but it has helped me massively! I talk about how to know what your lane is and what it looks like, and when to look at what your competitors are doing and when not to. This episode addresses some of the struggles we all feel and offers some practical ways to overcome those struggles.KEY TAKEAWAYS COVERED IN THE PODCAST: Why comparison doesn't serve you, and is the worst thing you can do Knowing what success looks like to you, and what your goals are The importance of goal setting The ways we can let our ego get in our way Being realistic about what you can achieve How work isn't everything and rest is essential The importance of celebrating every win, no matter the size THE ONE THING YOU NEED TO REMEMBER ABOVE ALL ELSE:Keep focussed on your own goals, know what you are working on – and remember, you are a rock star and you have totally got this!HIGHLIGHTS YOU SIMPLY CAN'T MISS: Practical ways you can stop the comparison and make sure you stay in your lane The mistakes I made this year, because not setting my goals, resulted in me having no lane Take everything you see with a pinch of salt because it's never the full picture RESOURCES MENTIONED:https://www.instagram.com/tv/CdbViWQDKg_/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link (Instagram live) Mary Hyatt https://www.instagram.com/maryghyatt/ (Socials) and https://maryhyatt.com/ (Website)TRANSCRIPT Hello, and a really warm welcome to this week's episode of the podcast. Thank you as always for listening and being in my amazing community. I appreciate you so, so very much because otherwise I'd just be recording these things and putting them out and like into the ether. So I really do appreciate you taking the time. I know your world is busy. And no doubt you are doing something while listening to this, the school run, a walk. I normally listen to stuff when I put my makeup on. Uh, so I do really appreciate you listening and being there. So this week we're going to be talking about staying in our own lanes. This is something that I think has helped me massively and something that I've had to learn to focus on over the years because it's so incredibly easy to get distracted. I can't even speak, get distracted by others, lose focus and become disheartened. So how do we do it? Like. You know, we know the phrase, stay in your own lane.We know what it means. It means focusing on your own stuff and not getting distracted and just keep driving forward. But how do we actually do it when we're in business? Because it's not, it's not a bad thing to know what others are doing. So sometimes it's helpful to have an idea of what a competitor's doing or, you know, they might have an interesting angle on something that you could offer a different angle on, and then that inspires you to do some content. So it's not like I'm saying don't ever look at competitors or people in your world, but how do we make sure that we don't spend way too much time? Now I am going to admit which I'm sure the rest of you can get on to someone's, you know, seeing something of someone's and then clicking through and clicking through and then getting on their website and then looking at this and then seeing this and that. And by the end of like the 10, 15 minutes, I've wind myself up into absolute stupor of like oh man. You know, they're doing everything and look at how they've achieved this and why have I not done that? So we need to make sure that we can focus on our own stuff. So the very first step of staying in your own lane is knowing what that lane is and where that lane is going.Because like you can't just sit and do your own work and focus on your own...

Mind Love • Modern Mindfulness to Think, Feel, and Live Well
We will learn: How we contribute to mental imbalances Why people are afraid to connect to their emotions 4 steps for processing your emotions in a health Today we’re going to be talking about how to allow our emotions to run through us, instead of avoiding them, or getting stuck in them. We live in a society that puts the mind on a pedestal but in many ways contributes to us cutting off our relationships with our emotions, our bodies and our spirit. And then we wonder why most of the population has anxiety or depression or some other mental imbalance. We’re putting all our energy on our thought processes. We’re essentially living in our heads! In today’s world, creating balance takes intention and it takes action because our environments are unbalanced. It encourages overthinking, and not showing emotion, and numbing from our bodies or forcing them into a desired shape, and more and more people are cutting off their relationship with spirit too. So today our guest is Mary Hyatt. My guest today, Mary Hyatt, is a life and business coach. She helps her clients become awake to their feelings; aware of their thoughts, patterns, and habits; anchored in feeling confident in who they are; and aligned with identifying their voice and desires. What I loved most about the conversation Mary and I had today were her teachings and insights around how we, as women, can harness the power of our emotions in the work that we do as parents, entrepreneurs, and go-getters in this world. Mary shows through the work that she does that we do not need to numb out, suppress, or deny our emotions in order to work harder, better, or more efficiently. The real power comes from harnessing our emotions and leveraging them in what we do. In this episode, Mary shares her personal journey with understanding her emotions and the beautiful transformation she experienced once she understood and acknowledged her emotions and how they showed up in her body. She shares how we can tap into our emotional body, how we can understand and recognize the warning signs before getting to a place of burnout, how we can begin to cultivate self-awareness around checking in with ourselves and our emotions, and how we can learn how to become truly present and true to ourselves. She hosts the amazing Living Fully Alive podcast that we highly recommend! Mary shares her story from 8 years ago of finding herself in a place of "what happened". It was an awakening moment and it's from this place that she is able to help clients from a place of non-judgement and empathy. She talks with us about the importance of feeling difficult emotions and how to remember the tools that you have during difficult times like the recent Nashville tornadoes and the current COVID-19 pandemic, such as mindfulness practices, meditation, prayer, centering yoga and more. She describes the compassionate energy we should have for ourselves during this time when we are all working our way through the stages of grief, and the importance of giving yourself grace! This week we are welcoming back to the podcast, my wonderful friend Mary Hyatt. For those of you who don’t know, Mary is my coach and she has also become one of my closest friends. We are going to be talking about what we can all do during this crisis, to hopefully bring you some comfort and support. Key Takeaways Covered In The Podcast • We are all experiencing something collectively – Everything feels very “off”. • Our batteries are being drained – emotionally and mentally. • We respond to stress in lots of different ways – Denial, Over-eating, Over-drinking. This is all about distracting ourselves from what is really going on. • There are also other ways we respond to stress which can be highly emotional – Hyper Sensitivity, Anxiety, Depression. • We are processing so much more information right now, it is understandably draining! • Don’t expect as much from yourself during this time. • Comparative suffering is adding shame and judgement whilst thinking about what you are feeling. • We are all allowed to feel how we feel during this – This could be emotions such as Overwhelm, Exhaustion, Anxiety, Grief. • We can only extend to others, what we are giving ourselves. • There is not any “right way” to go through this. • You get to choose what you do during this time, no one else. • Be gentle and compassionate with yourself. • We need to continue to bring in income the best we can right now. • Think about how you can meet needs that are there and add value to people. • You need to connect with people on a deeper level right now. • Value yourself, you have skills that can make others thrive. Recognise that you have information that other people wish they had. • Find meaning and purpose in the midst of all of this. • You are in control of how your mind interprets this. Try to think “What can this make possible?” • Look for the good things in every day. Be grateful for absolutely everything you have. • Shifting the focus on what we have, multiplies it. • Journaling – Write it down and then flip it so it comes from love instead of anger. • Get out all of your feelings on paper – You can just throw it away or burn it if you want to. • Utilise these free tools! • Give yourself permission to rest, nurture yourself and ask yourself “what do I need?” The one thing you need to remember above all else… Be gentle on yourself during this time, don’t put pressure on yourself to be achieving things just because you are being told you need to, whether that’s because other people are saying it or you may be telling yourself. You are allowed to feel anxious, angry, depressed, frustrated right now and it is okay if you can’t quite function how you normally would. But remember, this will not last forever. Key Takeaways Covered In The Podcast It’s important to remember that you can’t heal your own sick mind with your own sick mind. Sometimes an outside perspective, such as a coach, is all you need. Remember, you are exactly where you need to be. If you’re working with a coach, you need to be as open and honest as you can be. It’s not going to be an easy process so you need to feel happy with who you’re working with. There is a myth that if you have more followers, you’re going to sell more products and make more profit. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter about the numbers, it matters who is opening your email and buying into your products and services. A great way to forget about the numbers is to forget about your ego. You don’t need to brag about the numbers you have to others in the industry, you need to focus on the people you are directly affecting. If you’re better connected to your customers and clients, you can offer higher ticket items. Remember, a sale never happens outside of a conversation. You need to think about who would benefit from your products and services and talk to them. People want you to be human. Ensure you’re giving your followers value and that they trust you. You don’t need a big successful launch like everyone around you. 100 devoted fans is better than 1,000 unengaged followers. The one thing you need to remember above all else… Love the people that are already supporting you. Nurturing the people that are in your DMs, commenting on your photos and replying to your emails is the best possible way to ensure a successful launch. Mary shares the story of where she was 6 or 7 years ago, and how she got to where she is now. Mary helps women find the 2.0 version of themselves. Many of us shut our emotions off when we don’t like ourselves, Mary shares how she began to feel again. Tara Brach One of the reasons we avoid our feelings so much is because we believe they are going to overtake us. Book: Intuitive Eating - And, how it changed how Mary fed her body. Getting curious about her feelings, is how Mary began to change her mind and body. Acknowledge how you feel and then use it as data. Feelings as vibrations of the body, they’re not who you are. Dave Asprey and Peter Sage Mary hated her body so much that in order to start loving herself, she had to show gratitude for her body. This all started in a yoga class, Mary shares the full story in this episode! Babe, Redefined is the name of Mary’s course - she shares why she chose the word “babe” which can be a triggering word. The state of freedom women experience when they release the fear they’ve been living with. What “babe” means to Mary. Mary shares what her Inner Voice is asking of her. In Mary’s Voice: “I think most women start playing this role that we have been handed by society, our family, our spouses, our friends. And it’s this role of playing the good girl where we are quiet, respectful. We believe we need to be small, be little because we don’t have the sense of self-worth.” “I gave myself permission to feel my emotions - it felt very risky. It felt like this may turn out to where I can’t bring myself to go back. And what I needed to do is little by little give myself permission to identify those feelings.” “I think sometimes we are afraid to feel our emotions because we believe that if we feel certain emotions, that becomes who we are.” “When you touch the parts of your body that you’ve totally abused and berated and you ask for forgiveness, all of a sudden you can come to peace with something that you thought was your enemy and enter into a state of acceptance and love.” “You will have a smile on your face. You will feel like you are glowing. And you will feel a sense of confidence, bravery, courage, resiliency, and just that true, fierce femininity, when you begin feeling your emotions.” Connect with Mary: Mary’s Website Babe, Redefined Instagram Facebook

When you tell yourself "I have $150,000 in the bank and it feels so good." You know it's a lie every time you open your account. However, when you tell yourself, "In order for me to have $150,000 in the bank by January 2019 I make 10 new connections every single day, I make 15 offers a week and I sell 10 widgets a month." Another example would be, "I'm going to have the best relationship with my wife because every day when I come home, I'm going to leave work at work, drop everything at the door and sit down with her to listen to how her day went. I will then either help with dinner or help the kids finish their homework. Once the kids are in bed we will read together and share our thoughts." OK, it may not go exactly like that all the time. But you're making the affirmations about the actions you can take. You're not lying to yourself or making unreasonable expectations for your situation. Now, go out and Live Your Life of Abundance. And make sure you Pay it Forward. Mary Hyatt was like millions of others, struggling with her weight and juggling prescription medications. Even switching to organic, locally grown foods did not solve her health issues. It was time she got brutally honest with herself and found a long-term solution. Mary believes every person has the ability to create the life that they love. She is on a quest to live a life full of gratitude, joy, authenticity and abundance in body, mind and soul.
Educating Your Children for Their Future?Yesterday I had the pleasure of speaking with an amazing and Abundant woman, Mary Hyatt, who just happens to be the daughter of Michael Hyatt. We had a conversation about, amongst other topics, how she and her two sisters were raised. Mary shared with me what it was like living with a struggling entrepreneur who finally found his niche. One specific thing Mary mentioned caught my attention. None of the three Hyatt ladies went to college. Yet they are all successful entrepreneurs. All three girls were brought up to get jobs as early as the 10th grade. They all also read books about entrepreneur children and started their own child business. This interests me because my wife and I often have this conversation. Our boys are not great in school. They are like me. Trayce, my amazing wife, was excellent is school. She was top of the class. Which is great for her and others like her. But she's always frustrated with my boys. And my for the matter. My boys and I like to learn, just not in the classroom. And we have little to no interest in learning what the average school deems as important to future success. We feel schools are not teaching much of anything for future success. What about you? How are you educating your children? https://menofabundance.com/members/ (Join our Men of Abundance Community) Support this podcast

Mary Hyatt was drowning in unhappiness after marrying very young and having no idea who she was; after years of numbing her unhappiness with food, Mary found herself 70 pounds overweight and needing to make a change. She decided to embark on a journey to find herself and to stop playing small; in the process she let go of the weight and the unhealthy marriage and today Mary is a strong advocate of living FULLY ALIVE through being authentic, loving yourself and loving your body. Mary Hyatt is on a quest to feel alive and to live a life full of gratitude, joy, authenticity, and abundance in body, mind and soul. You can explore more at www.maryhyatt.com Nuggets of Wisdom from Mary: “Listen to your life. See it for the fathomless mystery it is. In the boredom and pain of it, no less than in the excitement and gladness: touch, taste, smell your way to the holy and hidden heart of it, because in the last analysis all moments are key moments, and life itself is grace." ~Frederick Buechner "I love that the emphasis on the touching, smelling, and really getting into the holy and hidden heart of it. That is it." "I can remember thinking to myself, there has to be more to life than this. Surely, being completely asleep for life, being numb, just almost sleepwalking through life - Surely there has to be something else that would make life worth more living." Some of Mary's Favorite Things: "Staying teachable. I’m always asking for feedback, I’m constantly learning. The minute that I think I know it all, my career is going to be dead. I want to see always how I can make things better. I get excited to hear about new perspectives, about new ways of seeing things because ultimately, my lens is really limited. I am seeing it only through my own eyes so I think a habit would be asking for feedback and continuously learning. " Favorite kitchen gadget: "Garlic Press" Beth's Favorite Books: "Loveability by Robert Holden" Best advice received: "From my mom: when anything is going wrong, 'What does this make possible?'" Mary's Happiness Formula: "I am happiest when I am being authentic + telling my truth + staying in the present. Part of living fully alive is experiencing life in 3D, which means that you are willing to be present for whatever is showing up in this exact moment. I give myself permission to celebrate, to be in that excitement and really stay in it, and asking myself, 'What is asking for my highest attention right now?'" "Depression and anxiety are escaping the present. When we can find our true happiness, the ability to connect with life, just in this present moment - that truly is what we have - I better show up. I better be all here because this might be my last breath." "Part of happiness is being able to show up for what’s happening right now. Being present truly contributes to our ability to have happiness and fulfillment." A Challenge from Mary: "Slow down in this moment, take a couple deep breaths, in through the nose, out through the mouth, in through the nose, out through the mouth. What is asking for my highest attention right now? What needs some loving today?" Mary Hyatt is a life coach and entrepreneur who struggled with many trials in her 20s. She was married at age 20 and, a few short years later, found herself completely disconnected from life. Battling depression and anxiety, Mary found solace in food. She was overweight and unhappy and realized something needed to change. She took herself to "self-discovery school" - a personal journey of transformation and healing. She read book after book, attended workshops, went through therapy and coaching, all to discover who she really was on the inside. In this episode, Mark and Mary talk about the danger of trepidation and the power of facing the fear of trying something new.
