What if fear is just a subscription you forgot you signed up for? Energy healer, Emotion Code practitioner, and podcast host Mo Smith joins Will and Karen to explain why fear is such an easy motivator, why it follows us even into spiritual practice, and how she's spent the last six years running a real-life experiment: quitting her job with six weeks of savings and living on faith and surrender. She shares her simple two-minute meditation for receiving guidance, how to tell a genuine message from monkey mind, and what actually happens in an Emotion Code session (yes, there's a magnet, and yes, the skeptic had questions). The episode ends with a challenge for every listener.Quick favor
What if the most important question we are asking about artificial intelligence is the wrong one entirely? In Part 1, Scotte Burns made the case that love is not an emotion, not a chemical reaction, and not an evolutionary adaptation. It is the creative and purposeful aspect of universal consciousness, and the brain does not produce that consciousness. It receives it.That idea changes everything. Including the AI debate. If you have not listened to Part 1 yet, stop here and go back. Seriously. The foundation Scotte builds in that first episode makes everything in this one hit completely differently. There are nuggets in Part 1 that listeners are still talking about, and we do not want you to miss a single one.For those of you who are back, welcome. You already know what kind of conversation this is.In Part 2, we pick up exactly where we left off and take the conversation somewhere most people never go. If consciousness is not generated by complex systems but received by them, then the entire framework of the AI consciousness debate collapses. Both camps, the ones who believe AI will eventually achieve consciousness and the ones who believe it never will, are arguing from the same flawed premise. And if they are both wrong, the implications are enormous.Quick favor
What if feeling like yourself again isn't about slowing down—but understanding what your body may need as you age? And could understanding your hormones help you feel more energized, focused, and connected to the life you want to live? In this special Health Series of the Radio Medium Laura Lee Show, Laura Lee welcomes health expert Hugh Woodward for an educational conversation about DHEA, energy, mood, focus, sleep, vitality, and healthy aging; if you feel good inside, you're more spiritually attuned, and everything aligns on the outside. Hugh explains what DHEA is, how the body naturally produces it, why levels generally decline with age, and why some people are exploring topical DHEA cream as part of their wellness routine. He also shares his personal experience discovering DHEA and discusses why anyone considering hormone-related products should speak with a healthcare professional and have their individual hormone levels evaluated. Laura and Hugh explore the connection between physical vitality, emotional well-being, and feeling more present in everyday life. While this conversation focuses on health rather than a psychic reading connection, it fits naturally into Laura's message of whole-person wellness: when you take care of your mind, body, and spirit, you create more space to feel engaged with your life.
Send us Fan MailWhat does spirituality have to do with the brain, interoception, and nervous system regulation? In this episode of the Autonomic Homeostasis Activation Podcast, Tom Pals and Ruth Lorensson explore the connection between the brain, mind, body, and spirit—and why spirituality may be better understood through the broader human experience of transcendence, rather than religion alone.Drawing connections between neuroscience, psychology, interoception, homeostasis, and spiritual experience, Tom and Ruth examine how the brain allows us to sense not only what is happening within our bodies, but also our connection to other people, nature, and something beyond ourselves. In this episode:How interoception connects the brain, body, mind, and spiritThe difference between spirituality, transcendence, and religionWhy humans naturally seek meaning and connection beyond themselvesHow our nervous systems are affected by other people and collective experiencesThe relationship between psychology, spirituality, and whole-person wellnessHow rigid beliefs and perceived threats can become “enemies of the mind”This conversation invites us to think differently about spirituality—not simply as a religious concept, but as part of the interconnected experience of being human.Support the showThanks for listening! You can follow us onFacebook Instagram Leave us a review on Apple Podcasts Check out the Autonomic Healing Website & InnerWorkings WebsiteEmail Tom thomasjpals@innerworkings.orgEmail Ruth ruth@bridgeandrhino.comSupport usWe appreciate you!
What if everything you have ever been told about love is wrong? Not slightly off. Not oversimplified. Fundamentally, scientifically, philosophically wrong. That is the starting point for today's conversation with Scotte Burns, a writer, speaker, and researcher who spent over a decade and more than 100,000 miles riding across America with his wife Toni, asking one question: What is love?He interviewed quantum physicists, Buddhist monks, Lakota elders, neuroscientists, jazz musicians, and people on death row. He recorded nearly five terabytes of interviews across 48 states. And the answer he came back with is not what anyone expected. Love, Scotte argues, is not a feeling. It's not a choice. It's not a chemical reaction or an evolutionary adaptation. It's the creative and purposeful aspect of universal consciousness itself. And the brain? It doesn't produce consciousness. It receives it, like an antenna tuned to a signal that was always already there.Quick favor
In this episode, we sit down with marine mammal naturalist Hella Martens, a longtime friend from our animal communication training days, who has spent over two decades guiding ship expeditions in the Arctic and Antarctica. Hella traces her journey from a horse-loving only child in the Netherlands to a career spent tracking whales, dolphins, and other marine mammals across some of the planet's most remote waters, sharing hard-won lessons about sacrifice, following her heart, and stepping outside her comfort zone again and again. We talk about her most humbling encounters, including an unforgettable close pass with a juvenile blue whale in the Azores, and dig into the deeper questions her work raises: who wildlife management really serves, the pressures tourism places on wild animals, and what it means to approach them with genuine respect rather than force. Hella also opens up about weaving animal communication more intentionally into her field work, including a profound moment witnessing a total solar eclipse in Greenland, and closes with a moving quote from writer Henry Beston on seeing animals not as lesser beings but as "other nations" sharing this earth with us. What if the answer to better health isn't always another prescription? In this episode of the Revelations Podcast, Reagan welcomes back Dr. George Kramer for a fascinating conversation about the history of medicine, the rise of the pharmaceutical model, and the growing return to natural and whole-person approaches to health.Dr. Kramer shares how his experience at Mayo Clinic and decades of practicing physical and integrative medicine shaped his approach to healing. They discuss how medicine moved from an emphasis on prevention, nutrition, lifestyle, and the body's natural ability to heal toward a system increasingly focused on diagnosing disease and treating symptoms with medication. They explore the importance of diet, exercise, sleep, morning light, breathing, stress reduction, gut health, vitamins and minerals, and spiritual health. Dr. Kramer also explains why he believes the mind, body, spirit, and soul should all be considered when looking at a person's health. You'll also hear personal stories about magnesium, migraines, atrial fibrillation, chronic pain, hormone health, prayer, and the surprising ways seemingly simple changes can make a difference.Dr. Kramer explains why he believes medicine is beginning to rediscover some of the principles that natural and integrative practitioners have emphasized for decades—and why patients can take a more active role in understanding and caring for their health. Most importantly, this conversation points back to a biblical perspective: our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and caring for our health can be part of caring for what God has entrusted to us.Find more from Revelations Podcast hosted by Reagan Kramer: Website | Instagram | Apple Podcast | YoutubeBecome Part of Our Mission! Live from the Virginia Beach Convention Center. Will and Karen bring a special on-site edition of the show, broadcasting straight from the floor of Spirit Fest, sitting down with the woman who built the whole thing: festival founder Mary Ellen Popyk. What starts as a quick "thanks for having us" turns into a real look at why this particular mind, body, spirit festival has become a destination event, not just a local pop-up. Mary Ellen explains what separates Spirit Fest from other shows on the circuit: a genuine sense of community that keeps attendees parked in their seats all weekend, vendors flying in from Florida and Washington State, and a vetting process for readers and mediums strict enough that first-timers can walk in without fear of getting scammed.Along the way, Will and Karen swap stories on past-life research, run into Will's cousin (a fighter pilot) in the crowd, and get a few teasers on what's next for Spirit Fest, including a rebuilt vendor-focused website, a possible West Coast expansion, and big-name additions to the lineup. In this episode:What makes Spirit Fest different from other mind, body, spirit conventionsWhy vendors travel across the country, twice a year, just to be part of itHow Spirit Fest vets its readers and mediums to protect attendees from scamsA detour into past-life parallels between old relationships and this lifetimeWhat's coming next: a new interactive website, expansion out West, and bigger-name guestsGuest: Mary Ellen Popyk, Founder of Spirit FestRecorded live at: Virginia Beach Convention CenterThe Skeptic Metaphysicians is a spiritual awakening podcast for open-minded thinkers who refuse to check their critical thinking at the door. In this episode of the Unity Manifest Podcast, Gary speaks with Alex Urbina, a Sovereign Activator, author, and speaker with more than 30 years of experience in personal growth and soul-remembrance work. Alex challenges the traditional healing paradigm and explores the shift from trying to “fix” yourself to remembering your inherent wholeness. The conversation explores sovereignty, the “master within,” conscious creation, inner authority, higher consciousness, medicine music, and Alex's belief that transformation comes not from becoming something new, but from remembering what is already within you. This week on the Animal Communication Podcast, we sat down with Day Schildkret, author of Hello, Goodbye: 75 Rituals for Times of Loss, Celebration, and Change and creator of Morning Altars, to explore why ritual matters so deeply, especially when we're grieving a pet. Day drew a clear line between routine and ritual: routine moves us from one point to the next, while ritual exists to make the unseen seen and to transform our relationship to what we're going through. We talked about grief as something we get under rather than get over, how our culture has grown "grief illiterate" in its rush back to normal after loss, and how ritual can hold us safely enough to let buried feelings finally surface. The conversation closed on relationships as the true heart of ritual, since ritual's deepest function is remembering, gathering our scattered attention back to what and who we cherish. Day reminded us that it's never too late to create a ritual for an old, unmarked loss, even one from decades ago, and that something as simple as a date on the calendar can become an annual doorway back to a beloved animal. We are so grateful to Day for this rich, moving conversation, and we've linked his book and his Morning Altars teacher training below for anyone wanting to go deeper. Where does an animal communicator's journey really begin? For me, it began long before I ever knew the words animal communication, animal telepathy, or intuitive communication. In this episode of Animals Speak: Are You Listening? I take you behind the scenes of Chapter 1 of my book, Animals Speak: Are You Listening?, and share the surprising experiences that shaped my path toward becoming a professional animal communicator, intuitive, channeler, Pranic healer, and spiritual teacher. As a child, I was profoundly hard-of-hearing, and I often felt as though I was struggling to connect with a world I couldn't fully hear. Looking back, however, I now see that those years of silence helped me develop extraordinary observation, empathy, sensitivity, and intuitive awareness. What I once experienced as a limitation eventually became part of the foundation for my work with animals.I'll share how early psychic experiences, a profound encounter with golden light and angels, spirit animal visions, unexpected encounters with a white dog named Polar Bear, and a remarkable connection with horses under the Hawaiian night sky gradually began revealing a much bigger picture. I'll also tell you about the people and experiences that ultimately sparked my journey into animal communication—including Amelia Kincade, Dr. Laurie Moore, Sheila Gallien, and my eventual training with Carol Gurney and the Gurney Institute of Animal Communication. But this episode isn't a reading of Chapter 1. Instead, I'm reflecting on the journey behind the story and the synchronicities that helped me recognize my life's calling. What if the things you've struggled with have helped you develop abilities you don't yet recognize? What if the animals who come into our lives are teachers, mirrors, guides, or even messengers? And what if animal communication isn't as mysterious or inaccessible as we might think? We'll explore animal telepathy, intuitive communication with animals, spirit animals, synchronicity, animal-human connections, spiritual awakening, psychic abilities, animal healing, and the importance of learning to truly listen.I'll also share two short excerpts from the book—but I'll leave plenty of the story for you to discover in Animals Speak: Are You Listening? If you've ever felt that an animal understood you without words, experienced an unexplained connection with an animal, received a message from an animal in Spirit, or wondered whether animals are communicating with you, this episode is for you.Perhaps the question isn't whether animals speak.Perhaps the real question is...Are you listening? Now available on Amazon at: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HDK9SZF9Loli Jane is a professional, international animal communicator, energy healer, spiritual coach and teacher. Suzanne Giesemann welcomes neuroscientist and consciousness researcher Dr. Marjorie Woollacott to explore emerging research into telepathy among individuals with autism and what these extraordinary abilities may reveal about the nature of consciousness itself. Marjorie shares how her involvement with The Telepathy Tapes led her into research designed to investigate these abilities under carefully controlled conditions. The conversation ultimately reaches beyond telepathy to an even greater question: Does consciousness extend beyond the brain—and even beyond physical death? Suzanne and Marjorie discuss striking parallels between these experiences, mediumship, and after-death communication, and why serious scientific investigation of these phenomena could challenge long-held assumptions about who and what we truly are.Learn more about Marjorie at her website: https://marjoriewoollacott.com/Suzanne Giesemann is a spiritual teacher, author, evidential medium, and Messenger of Hope. What if the thing designed to make your life better was also quietly surfacing everything you've been avoiding? That's exactly what Clayten Stedmann and Jeffrey Stegman... co-founders of Focused Life-Force Energy.... came back to TSM to explore. If you caught their first episode, you already know the origin story. This is not that conversation. In this return visit, we go considerably deeper into what FLFE actually is at its core... a high-consciousness field they call the Love Zone... and how it works using the Scale of Consciousness as its calibration framework.Clayten walks us through what it actually takes to do a consciousness calibration. and corrects the record live on air; it's not five million calibrations... it's eleven million. And counting. We cover:What the Love Zone actually is... and why the level of 550 on the scale represents unconditional loveHow muscle testing really works as a tool for measuring consciousness, including why only about 15% of people can do it reliably and how hydration, bias, and the precision of your statement all affect your resultsThe "UI" moment; when Will and Karen reframe kinesiology as prompting the original AI; Universal Intelligence... and why that might be the most accurate description of what's actually happeningThe manufacturing company story; Jeffrey describes activating FLFE in his business without telling anyone... and watching gossip drop to almost nothing while team coordination improved dramaticallyThe Two Brothers story; one of the most remarkable subscriber testimonials you'll ever hear, involving two young boys, a very quiet house, and a moment their mother called the biggest miracle of her lifeThe WWII concentration camp project; FLFE's early service work clearing geopathic stress and trauma from the land at Holocaust sites in Poland and GermanyWhat 11 million calibrations taught Clayten about humans... and what he does with 20,000 of them every single month just to maintain the serviceThe consent question; what happens to the people in your field who never opted in, and why Jeffrey says free will is always primaryThe nutritional piece; what your body actually needs to keep rising in a high-consciousness environment, including why copper, magnesium, and essential fatty acids matter more than you might thinkNeighborhoods; how one subscriber's FLFE field can ripple out to the people next door. and why low-consciousness neighbors tend to either move out or start hosting potlucksWhether you felt something during their first episode or you're brand new to Focused Life-Force Energy, this conversation is going to surprise you. This week, we flip the mic around and welcome someone who usually stays behind the scenes: Tony, our audio editor for the past three seasons and over 100 episodes. Tony has spent every week listening closely, smoothing out our ums and coughs, and turning our conversations into the show you hear. In this episode, we finally get to know the person doing that work. Tony shares how he found his way here: a decade behind the bar in the restaurant industry, a growing obsession with podcasts as an escape during long prep shifts, a broadcasting program, and eventually a connection through the Empower Network that led him to Diane and Tina at MindBodySpirit.fm. Tech was never the intimidating part for him, he tells us; being on camera is what makes him nervous. From there, the conversation opens into everything Tony has absorbed from the other side of the editing booth: the recurring theme of animals carrying people through hard times, the tenderness in how our audience finds comfort in "the woo," and the mix of inspiring and humbling moments that come with meeting people's heroes. We dig into a question Tony has wondered about for a while: the difference in cognition between domesticated and wild animals. Each of us weighs in with our own take, touching on boundaries, communication styles, and the deeper soul-level reasons animals choose to enter our lives. The conversation moves through animals in storytelling (Redwall, Homeward Bound, Timbuktu, and the shared trauma of "does the dog die?"), our favorite guests and most meaningful episodes over the seasons, and a joyful detour into dog breeds, herding instincts, and a Border Collie story from Tony's own life that captures just how much intelligence and personality animals bring to their play.We close by turning the spotlight back on Tony's role. He reminds us that everything is made by many hands, and that he's happy being, in his words, the one "editing out the red lights and making sure the tires don't sound funny." In this episode, we take a journey through the ancient Wheel of the Year, exploring the solstices, equinoxes, and the lesser-known cross-quarter days (Imbolc, Beltane, Lughnasadh, and Samhain) that ancient cultures across the globe have honored since long before recorded history. We trace how many of today's religious holidays, from Christmas to Halloween, have roots in these earth-based, solar celebrations, and reflect on what gets lost and gained when sacred cyclical wisdom gets absorbed into linear tradition. Karen brings in the lens of traditional Chinese medicine, describing the solstices and equinoxes as the "cosmic breathing of the earth" and unpacking how our elemental natures (wood, fire, earth, metal, water) tie us to the seasons in deeply personal ways; we even find out Julie's element live on air. Meredith shares her own complicated relationship with fire and the fear she's working to transform into reverence, while Julie reflects on the years she spent in Alaska, where telling time by the solstice and the blooming of fireweed was simply a way of life. We talk about the mythic battle between the Oak King and the Holly King, the balance of light and dark, and how the animals in our lives never lost their connection to these cycles, even as we did. We close with an invitation: step outside at dawn or dusk this week, set down the agenda, and just watch what the animals around you are doing. That's where the reconnection begins. At Spirit Fest in Virginia Beach, Will and Karen catch up with Dr. Tracey Diner of Magnetude Jewelry, a wellness doctor and chiropractor of 32 years who's spent recent years focused on a single, invisible problem: electromagnetic fields, and what she believes they're doing to our cells.Dr. Tracey walks through why she considers EMF exposure "the carcinogen of our lifetime," how 5G's shorter frequency means more constant, close-range exposure than 4G ever was, and why she believes it's quietly draining the mitochondria in every cell of your body. Her answer isn't avoidance, since she's clear that's not realistic, it's counteraction: biomagnetic jewelry designed to add energy back into the body's field. The conversation includes a live, on-camera demonstration where Dr. Tracey uses applied kinesiology to show the physical difference a magnet makes when it's in versus out of someone's energy field, phone held to the ear and all. It's a hands-on, occasionally hands-on-your-arm conversation about an exposure most of us can't see, and one doctor's approach to doing something about it anyway.Guest: Dr. Tracey Diner, Magnetude JewelryFind her: MagnetudeJewelry.comThe Skeptic Metaphysicians is a spiritual awakening podcast for open-minded thinkers who refuse to check their critical thinking at the door. Something stirred in the fall of 2024, and many of us felt it without having a name for it. In this return conversation with Kara Daniels, founder of Deep Root Connections, we find the shape of what that was. Kara brings us the story of Gaia's upgrade: not an abandonment, not a disappearance, but the same beloved Earth Goddess stepping into a higher-frequency version of herself - younger, spunkier, and ready to shake things up - because the old cycle was complete and a new one had begun. What unfolds from there takes us deep: into Earth dragons reawakening after centuries of dormancy, carrying original creation codes in their bodies; into fairies and star beings collaborating with our animals in the afterlife to experiment with light codes and weave the blueprints for new species into physical reality; and into the surprisingly accessible ways all of us can begin receiving those codes right now, through sunrise, bare feet on soil, a hand on a tree. We also talk about fire as an ecosystem, as grief, and as a portal. And we go somewhere unexpected and important: the shame many of us carry around reclaiming a relationship with nature, and the wisdom the trees themselves offer in response. This is a conversation about what is waking up, what is being rewoven, and why communicating with nature, as the trees told Kara, is everyone's birthright. Kara Daniels is an energy healer, interspecies communicator, and channel for the guardians of the land. She is the founder of Deep Root Connections, a master gardener, and a hobby-farm caretaker who rescues and co-lives with the very animals whose voices show up in her work. Kara's fall programs, Animal and Nature Communication Foundations and Gaia Reiki and Healing Techniques, are open for enrollment now. Spiritually exhausted? Therapist Faith Freed reveals why your spiritual practice might be the problem, and how to build one that actually fits your real life. What if the reason your spiritual life feels like a second job is because you've been following someone else's job description? In this episode of The Skeptic Metaphysicians, Will and Karen sit down with Faith Freed, licensed psychotherapist, spiritual guide, and author of DIY Spirituality: Chart Your Own Sacred Path, to explore one of the most overlooked causes of spiritual burnout: doing it wrong for you, not doing it wrong in general. Faith spent nearly two decades in clinical practice, trained at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, and has seen firsthand what happens when people treat their spiritual growth like a performance review. Spoiler: it doesn't end in enlightenment. It ends in a meditation cushion being used as a footrest. What you'll hear in this episode: Will opens up about something he's never discussed on the show before. after years of daily meditation, breathwork, sound baths, energy healings, and spiritual retreats, he still doesn't feel "further forward." Faith's response reframes the entire conversation: the goal was never a destination. It was always just a practice of touching in. Faith introduces her Divine Disco Ball framework, a four-part map of spiritual connection built around body and mind, soul and spirit, infinite source, and the natural world. The framework isn't diagnostic or prescriptive. it's a navigation tool. When one quadrant feels heavy or overworked, you simply rotate to another. Will also has a live breakthrough moment on air. connecting a spontaneous mystical experience he had years ago in the Atlanta airport to a pattern Faith identifies in real time: being alone in a crowd might actually be his spiritual sweet spot. It's one of those genuine, unscripted moments that makes this episode worth the full listen. Key topics covered:Why spiritual exhaustion is more common than spiritual failure, and how to tell the differenceThe "spiritual playlist" concept. keeping what lights you up, releasing what you force out of obligationWhy micro-rituals (as short as 60 seconds) can be more sustainable than elaborate daily practicesThe difference between spiritual presence and spiritual distraction, and how your intuition already knows which is whichWhat "authentic spirituality" actually means when the word has been flattened by wellness cultureHow a phone fast, a solo trip to an amusement park, or simply watching rain can be a legitimate spiritual practiceWhy Faith believes you don't have to do anything at all. and why that's both liberating and surprisingly hardAbout Faith Freed: Faith Freed is a licensed psychotherapist, spiritual guide, and the founder of Freed-Om. She holds a master's degree in clinical psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology and has nearly two decades of clinical experience. At Spirit Fest in Virginia Beach, Will and Karen "sit down" with Doron Shalev, a chemistry professor, crystallographer, and self-described skeptic who found his way into energy healing through an unlikely source: a stack of pandemic reading that started with crystal science and ended with a Reiki master teacher certification. Doron makes the scientific case for "woo," walking through the statistical thresholds researchers use to validate findings like the Higgs boson, and why many energy-healing studies actually clear a higher bar of statistical significance than science is willing to credit. The conversation turns personal when Doron describes healing his own arthritis through distance Reiki, a technique he says works better on himself than hands-on healing ever did. He also shares his shift from traditional Reiki symbols to Kabbalistic healing, using one of the 72 names of God in place of the Cho Ku Rei symbol, and describes how he reads chakra energy to figure out whether what he's sensing is emotional or physical. It's a rare conversation between a scientist and two skeptics-turned-believers, all circling the same question: what happens when the data starts pointing somewhere science hasn't caught up to yet. Cynthia Abulafia is an author, an academic, and a devotee of the Goddess. She is, in her words, committed to giving language to the divine feminine and restoring the experience of embodiment as the heart of spiritual practice. A longtime student and teacher of non-duality, she guides people through kundalini awakenings and spiritual emergence with grounded tools rooted in embodiment, breath, and the context of sacred texts and traditions. Her debut book, Embodying the Goddess: How to Awaken Curiosity and Reverence on the Spiritual Path, which was released in January 2026, was "inspired by 20 years of kundalini awakening, 20 years of study in non-duality traditions, and the work of the great philosopher Utpaladeva (900s CE)." In it, Cynthia challenges the “transcendence bias” of patriarchal spirituality and offers a path of radical integration. If you're curious about the divine feminine, the phenomenon of kundalini awakening, and about grounding nonduality in the apparent dualism of embodiment, this is the conversation for you. What if everything you've ever been taught about the ego has been wrong? For 3,000 years, spiritual traditions have delivered the same prescription: dissolve it, transcend it, kill it. And yet, for most people, no amount of meditation, prayer, or spiritual work has made that nagging disconnection go away.Dr. Nickolas Martin has spent 40 years in clinical psychology watching that prescription fail, and he thinks he knows exactly why. The ego, he says, isn't the enemy. It's a patient. A licensed psychologist, author of five books, and the man who literally invented the field of Egology, Dr. Nick introduces a framework he calls Ego Medicine, and it starts with a truth that stops most people cold: you can't destroy something you don't actually understand. And according to Dr. Nick, almost nobody understands what the ego actually is.In this episode, you'll find out why the ego has no intellect, no awareness of God, and no awareness of itself... and yet still manages to be the single biggest obstacle standing between you and the life you were designed to live. You'll hear about the three dimensions of ego energy, and why being what the world calls "a big ego" and being someone who can't feel their own feelings are actually two sides of the same broken coin. You'll also hear one idea that may quietly rearrange everything you thought you knew about spiritual healing: you were born saved. The question Dr. Nick is asking isn't how you wake up. It's how to stop from waking yourself. This one hits different. Come ready. In this episode I am talking about how you can recognise when your nervous system is dysregulated. We tend to notice the signs that are screaming very loudly at us - panic, anxiety, larger physical issues - but can we head these crises off at the pass by recognising the signs that our nervous system is becoming gently fried a little earlier so that we don't have to reach that point before we take notice of what our body is telling us? We walk gently through the things that our mind, body and spirit will show us so that we are aware, so that we can take action, take care of ourselves and our nervous system before we are in a state of emergency. Or so that we can simply stay centred, calm and clear within the furore of our lives...You can access the Nervous System First Aid Kit here.Much loveRosanne xxIf you would like to support this podcast here is the link to do so. In this episode of Hunger for Wholeness, Ilia Delio continues her conversation with neurotheologian Shaleen Kendrick on the practical meaning of Christogenesis, wholeness, and adaptive evolution. Shaleen reflects on what she calls “evolutionary mismatch,” the gap between our rapidly changing world and the neurobiological capacities we need to meet it with wisdom, compassion, and creativity.Together, Ilia and Shaleen explore how spirituality can become a lived practice of integration: not simply what we believe about God, but who we are and what we do each day. Drawing on neuroscience, process theology, epigenetics, and the image of living systems, Shaleen invites us to imagine people less as machines to be optimized and more as plants to be cultivated toward wholeness.Later in the episode, the conversation turns to Christianity in transition, the need for new systems, and the possibility of “wholeness-making” as a guiding concern for families, institutions, and the planet. Shaleen also shares the metaphor of jazz as a way to understand harmony, difference, and the creative work of becoming whole in real time.ABOUT SHALEEN KENDRICKRev. Dr. Shaleen Kendrick, ThD, is an emerging neurotheologian who developed the Neuro-Relational Integration™ (NRI) model—demonstrating how conscious integration across Mind–Body–Spirit neural systems can facilitate rapid adaptive evolution in how we think, act, and relate to ourselves, others, and the challenges of our time. NRI integrates neuroscience with liberation theology to show that through daily wholeness-making practices we can expand our human capacity and create new abilities that nurture not just individual flourishing but transform the systems we live in. She serves companies, practitioners, and faith communities, translating evolutionary spirituality into embodied practice—because the world needs humans who can evolve as quickly as our challenges emerge. This is Human Evolution in Practice. Join us for the Center's 10th Anniversary Conference, November 9–11 in Villanova, Pennsylvania, with a virtual option available. “If I can remember to carve out moments of self-connection, that's where creativity starts to flow.” — Nicki SizemoreThis episode is your invitation to rethink creativity through nourishment, ritual, and presence. I'm joined by cookbook author, recipe developer, and creator of Mind, Body, Spirit Food, Nicki Sizemore for a conversation about creativity, burnout, entrepreneurship, and the small practices that help us reconnect to ourselves.Nicki shares how years of overworking, blogging, recipe development, and entrepreneurship eventually led to a major burnout that changed the way she approached creativity and her business. What once felt controlled, scheduled, and productivity-driven slowly transformed into a more intuitive, nourishing, and surrendered creative process. We talk about how creativity often emerges through necessity, whether that's cooking from what's already in your kitchen, writing through difficult moments, or allowing ideas to arrive instead of forcing them. Nicki reflects on writing her book, Mind, Body, Spirit Food and how the process felt less like “writing” and more like allowing a creative force to co-create with her. Nicki also shares the BEST practice, a simple ritual she created to bring more intention and presence into cooking and daily life: Breathe, Engage Your Senses, Set an Intention, Thank Your Food, and Thank Your Body. What started as a way to survive burnout in the kitchen became a deeper practice of nervous system regulation, mindfulness, and creative connection. We also explore entrepreneurship, overdoing, creative blocks, and the difficult but transformative process of saying no. Nicki opens up about walking away from successful sponsorship work that no longer felt aligned and learning how to build a business rooted in nourishment instead of constant hustle. This episode is a reminder that creativity sometimes begins with a deep breath, connecting to your senses, and allowing yourself to slow down enough to listen. The answers you are looking for are right inside you, if you take a beat to tune in and allow creativity to co-create with you.Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, or on your favorite podcast platform while you cook, clean, or create. Forgiveness: The Pathway to Happiness with Dr. Dravon JamesWhat if the most powerful prescription for healing doesn't come in a bottle? In this deeply moving and unexpectedly eye-opening episode, I sit down with Dr. Dravon James—who, as a pharmacist, fills prescriptions to help people heal and feel better, but this time offers a prescription that doesn't come in a bottle: forgiveness. Not the surface-level kind. Not the “just move on” version many of us were taught. But real, healing forgiveness—especially forgiving ourselves.Dr. Dravon vulnerably shares her own story of misunderstanding forgiveness after experiencing deep father wounds as a child. When her father left, she quickly forgave him—but turned the blame inward, believing she was the problem. As she explains, this wasn't true forgiveness at all. It was self-abandonment.Together, we unpack what forgiveness really is—and what it is not.In this episode, we explore:Why forgiveness is not condoning harmful behaviorThe difference between forgiving others and forgiving yourselfCommon barriers to forgiveness, including:Lack of self-awarenessLack of clarityEmotional exhaustionWaiting for an apologyConfusing forgiveness with approvalHow forgiveness is an act of self-love, not weaknessHow forgiving frees you from the emotional grip of othersWhy forgiveness helps you reclaim your power and inner peaceForgiveness & HealthWe also discuss the powerful connection between forgiveness and physical health. Holding on to resentment, anger, and unresolved emotional pain doesn't just weigh on the heart—it impacts the body. Forgiveness, when done correctly, can reduce stress, support emotional regulation, and contribute to overall well-being.This conversation reframes forgiveness as a pathway to peace, freedom, and healing—not for someone else's benefit, but for your own.About Dr. Dravon JamesDr. Dravon James is a transformation specialist, inspirational speaker, author, and the Founder and Director of Everyday Peace.
