In this episode of the Membership Geeks Podcast, I dive deep into the essential traits that set thriving membership owners apart from the rest.Rather than focusing on marketing tactics or retention strategies, I shine a spotlight on the personal development and mindset shifts that make building and running a successful membership sustainable—and enjoyable—for the long haul.If you want to know what it really takes to grow a membership business you're proud of, this episode is for you.In this episode:What key personal traits do membership owners need to succeed over the long term? How can clarity of purpose impact decision-making and growth in your membership? Why are resilience, empathy, and strong people skills critical for membership leaders? What boundaries and habits should you develop to avoid burnout and foster sustainable success?Key Quotes & Takeaways:"Clarity isn't just something that gives you a strategic advantage, it's also an emotional anchor because if you really dive deep into who you are serving, what the purpose of your membership is, then that passion that's going to elevate your membership comes from knowing your purpose, knowing what you're here to do.""But you do need to care about your members as human beings, not just numbers on a spreadsheet and money in your bank account.""Your membership lives or dies by your ability to teach, explain, engage, and connect, whether that is through, courses, video tutorials, live q and a's, email newsletters, forum posts inside your community, workshops, challenges, whatever format you're using, your success hinges on how well you can take your expertise, your knowledge and deliver it to someone else in a way that sticks."Thank You For ListeningWe really appreciate you choosing to listen to us and for supporting the podcast. Busy ≠ Effective. Boundaries aren't selfish—they're strategic. In my latest episode of The Grace Over Grind Podcast, I break down the second pillar of sustainable leadership: Setting Non-Negotiable Boundaries. For mid-size business leaders, the absence of clear boundaries doesn't just lead to burnout—it dilutes vision, slows execution, and weakens team trust. When leaders model boundaries, teams operate with clarity, confidence, and purpose!
Welcome back to another episode of The Haute Guide! In this episode, I'm talking about why funding Black media is absolutely non-negotiable. I'm unpacking how major fashion magazines rely heavily on advertising dollars—with over half of some issues filled with ads. But flip through those pages, and you'll barely see Black-owned brands featured—or even Black faces in many of the campaigns. While I get that advertising keeps publications running, the reality is most Black brands don't have $50,000 or $100,000 to spend on a single ad page. This lack of access fuels a bigger systemic problem: fewer opportunities for visibility, growth, and recognition in the industry. That's why I created the Black Fashion Media Equity Program—to offer free ad space to Black fashion and beauty brands. Because if we want true representation and equity in fashion, we need to make sure Black media has the resources to thrive and amplify our stories. Key Moments: Breaking down how much ad space takes up in big fashion magazines—and who actually gets those ads The financial hurdles Black fashion entrepreneurs face trying to afford premium ad rates How the lack of ad dollars ties into broader systemic issues around visibility and opportunity An inside look at the Black Fashion Media Equity Program and its mission Why funding Black media platforms is essential for long-term change in the fashion industry Next Week Sneak Peek:Next episode, I'm diving into Steve Madden's viral interview, recapping Paris Men's Fashion Week, and sharing what it's really like running a fashion magazine as a Black editor. Plus—where are we supposed to shop now that these brands keep acting up?

IN THIS EPISODE: In this episode of Between Sundays, Tyler, Maron, and Barry return to the Gospel of Matthew (chapters 8–9) to talk tax collectors, table fellowship, and the transforming power of Jesus' mercy. What does it mean that Jesus called someone like Matthew, a despised collaborator and social outcast, to follow Him? Why did Jesus share a meal with "sinners and scum"? And what do ancient customs like reclining at the table, status symbols, and mercy over sacrifice still teach us about following Jesus today? We're diving deep into Week 9 of the Follow Me series at Grace Church, unpacking: - Jesus' absolute authority and radical inclusion - The cultural and spiritual weight of eating together - Why Matthew's calling is a turning point in God's new kingdom - Hosea 6:6, mercy vs. sacrifice, and what that means for church today - What it looks like to extend mercy even to the people we judge... or just don't want at our table Plus, we tackle a bunch of big questions: - What makes someone open to mercy? - Is mercy optional for Christians? - Can churches be built on mercy instead of sacrifice? - Did tax collectors choose their path—and could they quit? We also answer a few fun mailbag questions, including: - What's your most-used emoji? - Where do you go in Scripture on hard days? - Favorite Between Sundays moment from 300 episodes! Fan Favorite: This episode originally aired on July 28, 2021. Relationships are never easy, and marriage is harder than most would imagine. With the average length of marriage in the U.S, being just over 8 years, I am happily celebrating 19 years of marriage this year and sharing some of the lessons learned along the way. I am answering your questions about everything from how to know if he's the “one” to de-escalating those heated arguments that leave you angered and red in the face. Relationships are beautiful when you recognize the amount of work it takes to be in a great relationship, and when you finally realize the “perfect” relationship doesn't exist and never did. So, whether you are in a relationship, thinking about marriage, dating or not even started yet, there's definitely make you stop and think, ‘huh maybe I should give this a try.' It's not for everyone, but being married and in a healthy and loving relationship can be one of the best experiences for anyone. BONUS TAKEAWAYS: 2 Tips for when you find yourself sabotaging your own relationships: 1. Write it down and reflect to explore your feelings in detail with no judgement. When and how did things progress from argument? Exactly was it that triggered your response. 2. Communicate with your partner about exactly what things are triggering you before the next argument. Be open, be vulnerable, and be patient with yourself. How to disrupt heated arguments before they escalate any further: 1. Recall the argument and identify where would have been a good moment to walk away and take the time to change your mood. 2. Consider writing a letter to yourself to remind you to disrupt the moment. 3. Use something meaningful and significant, such as Lisa's love chip, to signal to your partner and yourself what's important. It's not just the portfolio. It's not just the price tag. And it's definitely not just the gear.If you've been wondering what actually sets luxury photographers and filmmakers apart from everyone else—this episode is your invitation to pull back the curtain and find out.In this conversation, we're breaking down the mindset shifts and business moves that position you for high-end bookings (without guessing or hoping someone “discovers” you). Because here's the truth: luxury isn't about luck. It's about intention. We're diving into what luxury creatives are doing differently—like showing up as the leader their clients are looking for, building brands that feel cohesive and aligned, and prioritizing the experience just as much as the work itself. You don't have to wonder if it's possible for you.You don't have to keep playing small. You don't have to wait until someone gives you permission. If you're ready to stop crossing your fingers and start positioning your brand for the clients you actually want—this one's for you.
This is how we win. This is the closing argument of the project to build the foundation of the people’s platform and take over the Democratic Party: The 5 Non-Negotiables of the Left. Three to earn the trust of the American people to win back the country, and two to salvage our democracy and our planet. The Trump administration is the culmination of a 70 year neoliberal plan to divide the population and place the wealth of the nation and levers of power into the hands of the few. The dystopian doctrine that drives this agenda is rooted in fear born from economic precarity. As such, the opposite holds true as well. Everything positive is attainable when a population lives in economic security and has satisfied the most basic human needs. We need a politics centered on achieving this goal before we can broaden our horizon. To accomplish this we have to use the tools at our disposal, which means we have to take over most functional political apparatus available: The Democratic Party. Our contribution to this plan is simply to provide structure and clarity. This is how we win. Access the episode resources. In this episode of The Purpose Show, we're talking about something I see all the time, the almost there trap. That moment when you're so close to the breakthrough, but instead of pushing through, you self-sabotage. Sound familiar? I'm breaking down the psychology behind why we do this and how to reframe your mindset from constantly starting over to actually finishing what you started. We'll talk about consistency, discomfort, and the truth about what it really takes to grow. If you've ever felt stuck in the cycle of getting close and then backing off, this episode is your reminder that you're closer than you think. Let's break the pattern and keep going. https://alliecasazza.com/collective My links here:https://alliecasazza.com/tpslinks Chapters 00:00 Introduction to the Almost There Trap 02:23 Reframing the Mindset: Finishing vs. Starting Over 05:39 Understanding the Psychology of Self-Sabotage 12:11 Strategies to Overcome Self-Sabotage 24:54 Making Showing Up a Non-Negotiable
Probably the scariest, most dreaded term in economics is stagflation. Those who lived through the crisis in the 1970s can attest to this. In short, stagflation is defined as a period of low-to-no economic growth combined with high unemployment and high inflation. It’s a deadly recipe that took extraordinary measures to break the last time we experienced this phenomenon, and the method used back then is still highly contested territory. If you’ve heard the term more often in recent months, it’s because some economists are beginning to fear a resurgence of stagflation due to the policies of the Trump administration. So today we’re doing a very deep dive into the economy to discuss the differences between now and the crisis of the ‘70s and show how Trump might be singlehandedly pushing us into an entirely new and preventable stagflation crisis.
