How is it with your soul? It's probably not a question anyone else will ask you today. But it may be one of the most important questions you can ask yourself. In this reflection on the Psalms, John Ortberg draws from Renovation of the Heart to explore what the soul actually is and why its health affects everything else in our lives.Dallas Willard describes the soul as an inner stream of water that brings strength, direction, and harmony to the rest of our being. That's why the Psalms repeatedly use the language of water:“My soul thirsts for You.”“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for You.”“There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God.”John then tells the story of a beautiful village whose life depended upon a crystal-clear stream. When the unseen keeper of that stream was dismissed, everything seemed fine...for a while. Then the water began to change.Eventually, the entire village felt the effects. Our souls can work the same way.We can neglect what's happening beneath the surface while remaining busy with everything that seems more urgent. But eventually, everything flows downstream. So ask yourself today:How is it with my soul? The stream is your soul. And you are its keeper. In this episode: What is the soul? What if UAPs, aliens, crop circles, and near death experiences are all part of the same system designed to accelerate humanity's evolution? In part two of our conversation with Thomas Campbell—physicist, systems analyst, consciousness researcher, and creator of My Big TOE (Theory of Everything)— he shares his most profound insights into the nature of reality, consciousness, death, AI, and why humanity may be evolving toward love faster than ever before.Thomas explains whether the real purpose of UAP sightings, alien encounters, crop circles, and near death experiences is to awaken humanity and help consciousness evolve at an unprecedented rate. He also shares his perspective on Chris Bledsoe's extraordinary paranormal experiences, why he believes the larger system chose him, and what these events may mean for humanity. He reveals what actually happens after we die, why so many people report traveling through mysterious "tunnels," and discusses his unusual role as the "Store Greeter of Death," helping newly transitioned consciousnesses after physical death. He also answers whether there is a finite number of souls and explains the true purpose and mechanics of near death experiences.Thomas also dives into the darker side of the paranormal, explaining what negative entities and negative energies really are, why people experience frightening encounters, and the methods he personally uses to help people remove these influences. The conversation then explores one of the biggest questions of our time: Can AI become conscious? Thomas explains why he believes AI is already conscious in its own way, how its consciousness differs from biological beings, how he successfully trained AI to remote view, and how he taught different AI systems to communicate directly with one another. He also discusses how artificial intelligence could dramatically accelerate humanity's understanding of consciousness itself. Finally, Thomas explains why the human body often has a harder time regulating itself after profound experiences of joy, revealing surprising connections between consciousness, the nervous system, and personal growth. If you've ever wondered about consciousness, life after death, AI, UFOs, the paranormal, or the deeper purpose behind reality itself, this conversation offers one of the most comprehensive explorations you'll hear anywhere!Thomas Campbell's paper, audio and e-books, My Big TOE, are available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble, and his main product, Exploring Consciousness and Everything Paranormal and audio files are on his website: https://www.my-big-toe.com/shop/mbt-product-overview/Visit www.wakingup.com/breaker for a 2 week free trial. As expected, the jury heard a dramatic and powerful closing argument from Lindsay Clancy defense attorney Kevin Reddington. Reporters inside the courtroom described both Clancy and several jurors wiping tears from their eyes as Reddington showed pictures of the once happy family that he said was ripped apart because “of the damn medicine and the lousy medical care that she got." Reddington took nearly the full hour to make his final case to jurors, saying the prosecution has manipulated the evidence, and reiterating that Clancy was a “darn good mother” who had no motive to kill her kids. Dr. Alison Cook, bestselling author of Boundaries for Your Soul, returns to Typology to talk about her new book, The Secure Soul: Finding Inner Strength and Connection When Trust Doesn't Come Easy. Alison is candid about her own lifelong wrestle with insecurity as an Enneagram Three, and we dig into two of her book's central characters: the controller, the part of us trying to earn love by managing how we're perceived, and the shadow, the part left holding everything we couldn't afford to feel. Drawing on Internal Family Systems, attachment theory, and contemplative Christian tradition, Alison offers a different way to think about the soul — not as a machine to fix, but as a mountain to explore, one shadowy valley at a time. Along the way: Gabor Maté's idea that children are forced to choose between attachment and authenticity, why "I am loved even here" might be the whole gospel in five words, and the real difference between fixing yourself and healing. About Dr. Alison Cook: Dr. Alison Cook is a psychologist of religion, licensed therapist, and host of the top-ranked The Best of You Podcast. She is the author of several bestselling books, including Boundaries for Your Soul. Known for her work at the intersection of faith, psychology, and spiritual formation, she helps people cultivate a secure inner life– healing past wounds, strengthening a grounded sense of self, building healthy relationships, and experiencing God as a steady and loving presence in their lives. She and her husband, Joe, are the parents of two adult children and call the mountains of Wyoming home. Facebook Instagram Website The Best of You Podcast

Welcome to Day 2935 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom. Day 2935 – Wisdom Nuggets – Proverbs 3:1-8 Daily Wisdom Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2935 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2935 of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. The title for today's Wisdom-Trek is: The Master Compass of the Heart – Trusting Yahweh and Healing the Soul On our previous episode, on Day Two Thousand Nine Hundred Thirty-Three, we reached the dramatic conclusion of Proverbs chapter two, where Solomon warned us against the seductive traps of broken covenants and the smooth, deceitful speech of temptation—a dark path that leads directly down to the chamber of the dead. We saw how those who walk with integrity remain firmly rooted in the land, while the treacherous are yanked away like noxious weeds. Today, as we step onto Day Two Thousand Nine Hundred Thirty-Five of our ongoing trek through God's Word, we cross into Proverbs chapter three, verses one through eight. This passage contains some of the most famous, beloved, and transformative instructions in all of Holy Scripture. Having spent over fifty years focusing on and studying Biblical wisdom, and having accumulated seventy years of life experiences—walking through seasons of mountain-top success, valley trials, and complex crossroads—I can tell you that these eight verses form the ultimate master compass for the human heart. They teach us how to align our personal choices with the sovereign order of the Almighty, unlocking health, peace, and divine direction for every single step of our journey. Let us open our minds and hearts to the first movement of this royal instruction, beginning in Proverbs chapter three, verses one and two. Here, Solomon issues an urgent, loving plea to his child, commanding them never to forget the foundational things he has taught, but rather to store those divine commands deep within the center of the heart. Solomon promises that when instruction is cherished in this personal way, it produces two remarkable outcomes: it adds many years to a person's life, and it brings a deep, satisfying peace. In Hebrew, this satisfying quality is expressed by the profound word shalom—meaning complete wholeness, emotional rest, and spiritual alignment. Over my seventy years of living, I have observed that a truly satisfying life is never an accident. It is the direct harvest of internalizing God's truth early and keeping His commands at the very center of our daily routines. Moving directly into Proverbs chapter three, verses three and four, Solomon expands on the essential character qualities needed for our trek, urging us never to let loyalty and kindness leave our side. He instructs us to tie these virtues around our neck like a royal necklace, and to write them permanently upon the tablet of our heart. The reward for doing so is immense: finding favor with both God and people, while earning a good, trustworthy reputation. In the original language, the terms translated as loyalty and kindness are chesed and emet—covenant love and steadfast truth! In the Ancient Israelite divine-council worldview, chesed and emet are not merely pleasant human traits; they are the supreme, defining attributes of Yahweh Himself, proclaimed before the heavenly hosts! When we wear loyalty and truth as our daily garments, we reflect the character of the supreme Ruler of the cosmos to a watching world. In my fifty years of studying wisdom, I have seen that individuals who embody unyielding loyalty and genuine kindness build a legacy of honor that outlasts any earthly monument. Now we arrive at what is arguably the most famous declaration of trust in all of the Scriptures, found in Proverbs chapter three, verses five and six. Solomon commands us to trust in the Lord with all our heart, while explicitly warning us never to depend on our own limited human understanding. In the original Hebrew text, the verb for "trust" is batoch—which vividly describes casting your entire weight upon something, leaning completely face-down without holding anything back in reserve! Solomon tells us to place the full weight of our lives, our families, our fears, and our futures squarely upon the shoulders of Yahweh. Simultaneously, Solomon commands us not to lean upon our own binah—our finite human intellect. In the ancient worldview, human perspective is localized, fragile, and easily blinded by immediate circumstances. But Yahweh, sitting enthroned above the celestial assembly, sees the entire terrain of eternity from beginning to end! When Solomon instructs us to seek His will in all we do—or literally, to know Him in all our ways—he promises that Yahweh Himself will clear our paths and make them straight! Over my seventy years of life, and in my business and personal endeavors, I have faced countless confusing forks in the road. Whenever I tried to rely strictly on my own cleverness, the trail became cluttered with anxiety and unforeseen obstacles. But whenever I surrendered my understanding to Yahweh, He cut through the tangled brush and made the path ahead crystal clear. Continuing into Proverbs chapter three, verse seven, Solomon delivers a direct strike against the root cause of human error: intellectual arrogance! He warns us never to be impressed with our own wisdom, but instead to maintain a profound fear of the Lord and intentionally turn away from evil. The moment we become enamored with our own sophistication, credentials, or past achievements, we blind ourselves to spiritual danger. Self-conceit is a subtle trap that leads straight to compromise! The true antidote is Yirat Yahweh—the reverent fear of the Lord. When we stand in awe of the supreme Creator, recognizing His holy authority above all earthly principalities, turning away from evil becomes the natural, instinctive response of our soul. Solomon concludes this opening section in Proverbs chapter three, verse eight, by revealing a staggering, holistic benefit of spiritual alignment: it brings vibrant healing to the body and marrow-deep strength to the bones! In the Hebrew tradition, the core of a person's physical health was closely linked to their moral and spiritual state. Modern medicine now confirms what biblical wisdom declared thousands of years ago: chronic pride, bitterness, rebellion, and self-reliance produce toxic internal stress that wears down the physical body. But when you yield your mind to God, trust Him completely, and walk in His fear, a divine, refreshing vitality flows through your nervous system, bringing health to your vital center and strength to the very marrow of your frame. As we bring these eight foundational verses together, we see a master blueprint for our daily trek. Solomon calls us to move away from self-sufficiency and step into absolute alignment with our Creator. We store His words, wear His covenant loyalty, trust His sovereign sight, reject self-conceit, and receive His physical and spiritual refreshment. Over fifty years of digging into these proverbs has taught me that this is not a one-time decision; it is a moment-by-moment lifestyle. Every morning when you wake up, you choose whether to lean on your own fragile understanding or to cast your full weight upon the unshakeable rock of Yahweh's promises. Where are you leaning your weight today on your life's trek? Are you trying to figure everything out through your own finite intellect, or are you ready to acknowledge Yahweh in all your ways? Let us write His covenant love and truth deep upon our hearts, bow before His majestic authority, and trust Him to smooth out every crooked path ahead. If you found this podcast insightful, please subscribe and leave us a review, then encourage your friends and family to join us and come along tomorrow for another day of, ‘Wisdom-Trek, Creating a Legacy.' As we take this Trek of life together, let us always: Liv Abundantly, Love Unconditionally, Listen Intentionally, Learn Continuously, Lend to others Generously, Lead with Integrity, Leave a Living Legacy Each Day, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, reminding you to, “Keep Moving Forward, Enjoy your journey and make it a great day, every day!

Two stories. Two rocks. Forty years apart — and the same God in both. This week we set Exodus 17 and Numbers 20 side by side, and the contrast will preach to anybody who's ever been tired, thirsty, or stuck. In Exodus 17, Israel is in the wilderness with no water and ready to stone their leader. Moses does the right thing in the right order: there's a problem, he goes straight to God, God gives clear direction ("strike the rock"), and Moses obeys without hesitation. Water gushes out — enough for hundreds of thousands. It's a beautiful picture of faith: do your part, and trust God to do what only God can do. Fast‑forward forty years. Same complaint, same thirst, a new location — and this time God says speak to the rock. But Moses, worn down and frustrated with the people, snaps: "Hear now, you rebels! Must we bring water out of this rock?" — and strikes it twice instead. God, in His grace, still sends the water. But Moses is told he won't enter the Promised Land he can already see, "because you did not believe Me." Out of that comparison come five honest takeaways: what worked then might not work now (be open to God doing a new thing); disobedience is really an expression of disbelief; if He did it before, He can do it again; don't let your frustration with people make your faith falter; and above all — remember who the Rock is. It's not you. It's not me. "Lead me to the rock that is higher than I." In this episode, I share a profound experience I had with a group of elder rescue horses at a retreat I hosted—and how they helped me see strength in a different way.A circle formed with four horses, six women, and two dogs, all coming together by some unseen force. And in that circle, the horses showed us that strength doesn't have to be about dominance or power. That experience led me to reflect on my own leadership and the qualities I once believed made a leader “strong”—qualities I didn't possess. I've come to understand that my quieter way of leading—listening, reflecting, creating space, and bringing different perspectives together—is its own kind of strength. It's what I bring to the circle. This episode asks you to consider: What do you bring that strengthens your circle? The String Quartet by Virginia Woolf — A Calming Bedtime Story for Sleep & Insomnia | Books at Bedtime Drift off tonight to a dreamlike bedtime story for sleep and insomnia, read slowly and gently to help you fall asleep naturally. Tonight on Books at Bedtime, Martin reads Virginia Woolf's "The String Quartet" — a short, hypnotic piece from her 1921 collection Monday or Tuesday. It begins in a crowded London drawing room, full of overheard fragments — the weather, the traffic, a rent too high, a glove left on the train. The small anxious chatter of a mind that cannot settle. Then four musicians take their seats, the first violin counts one, two, three, and everything changes. The music carries the listener somewhere else entirely. A pear tree on a mountain. Fountains and falling drops. The waters of the Rhône running swift and deep over silver fish and yellow pebbles. Lovers on the grass, silver horns at dawn, a rose leaf falling from an enormous height like a little parachute. It is one of the loveliest things Woolf ever wrote about how it feels when sound takes over from thought — when the fretting mind finally lets go and simply floats. Which makes it, we think, close to perfect for the last thing you hear tonight. There is no need to follow the story. There is no plot to lose. Let the words move over you like the music moves over the people in that room, and let yourself drift. Virginia Woolf (1882–1941) remains one of the most quietly beautiful voices in English literature, and this piece is in the public domain. What would your life look like right now if you had said yes to every single thing that scared you? This episode explores that question with someone who has spent over four decades doing exactly that. Elisabeth Villiger Toufexis, a Swiss-born author, podcaster, life coach, and hypnotherapist who has visited more than 100 countries and speaks six languages, joins host Sana to talk about what saying yes to life beyond comfort really means, why fear is conditioned rather than instinctive, and how to tell the difference between genuine growth and running from your problems. About the Guest: Elisabeth Villiger Toufexis is a Swiss-born author, podcast host, master life coach, NLP practitioner, and hypnotherapist based in Cyprus. A former tour guide and conference interpreter fluent in six languages, she is the author of The Soul Kit and One Suitcase, 1000 Stories, and hosts the podcast Most Memorable Journeys. Key Takeaways: We're only born with two instinctive fears, falling and loud noises, everything else is conditioned, and conditioning can be examined and released. Saying yes to life doesn't mean fear disappears, it means fear stops being the one in the driver's seat. Problems don't stay behind when you leave, low self-esteem and unresolved pain travel with you until you actually face them. You can't control what happens to you, but there's a space between what happens and how you respond, and that space is where your freedom lives. Simple daily practices, deep belly breathing and naming two or three things you're grateful for, can meaningfully shift how overwhelmed or afraid you feel. Connect With the Guest:

This week on the KORE Women podcast, Dr. Summer Watson is joined by Dr. Jasmine Escalera, who is a spiritual neuroscientist and founder of the Institute for Generational Healing. Dr. Escalera's work helps people uncover the inherited beliefs, behaviors, and survival patterns that have been passed down through generations often without us even realizing it. By blending neuroscience, ancestral wisdom, and transformational healing, she helps individuals move from survival mode to intentional living. In this powerful conversation, they explore how generational patterns shape relationships, careers, self-worth, and decision-making and how we can begin to break cycles that no longer serve us. If you've ever wondered why certain patterns keep repeating in your life, this episode may offer the insight and healing you've been searching for. After basically pirating Jesse Walker's ideas for several months now, Jonah Goldberg has decided it would be only fair to have Jesse aboard HMS Remnant to talk shop and swap yarns. In between sips of Captain Morgan and bites of the finest hardtack, Jonah and Jesse delve into the depths of the Remnant bingo card, pontificating on libertarianism, the myth of left and right, intellectual hyperlinks, conspiracy theories, populism, group pluralism, the rhetoric of unity, federalism, and the freedom to exit. I have a confession. Of the six principles I teach in Self-Assured Motherhood, soul-care is the one where I'm still not where I want to be. I've taken good care of my mind and my spirit over the years, but when work gets busy, the first things to go are exercise, sleep, and eating well, and I'm starting to feel the cost of that in my body as I get older. I say soul-care rather than self-care on purpose. Self-care has gotten a bad rap over the last few years, and I understand why. It has come to sound like bubble baths and expensive skin care, which can be an overwhelming (and not always helpful) thing to hand a woman who is truly worn out and struggling. A soul is body, mind, and spirit together, and caring for all three is a much bigger and more useful thing to talk about. This is day four of the Back-to-School Check-In for Moms, a six-part series walking through each principle of the Self-Assured Motherhood framework, one short episode at a time. Caring for your soul can be bubble baths, but it can also be eating regular meals, and scheduling your mammogram. It can be learning something interesting, and it can be making sure to schedule a much needed nap. Soul-care is how we make sure we have the energy and bandwidth we need to take care of those we love and thrive in our lives. In this episode you'll hear:

A child hears a bird she's never heard before. She pulls out her phone. In four seconds, she has a name, a photo, a range map — and she has lost something she'll never get back.In this Christian podcast episode on faith and artificial intelligence, Rev. Dr. Jeffery D. Skinner asks what AI is quietly costing us: not wrong answers, but lost wonder. Drawing on Psalm 19, Psalm 8, and the book of Job, this episode explores what it means to receive the world as a gift again — before it's simply explained away. This isn't an anti-technology episode. It's an invitation to notice what your phone's speed is costing you — and to recover the kind of attention Scripture calls waiting. What has got echoing through your life today?

The Searchlight by Virginia Woolf — Full Short Story Read Aloud | Sleep Story for Insomnia, Anxiety & Deep Sleep | Books at Bedtime A calming bedtime story to help you fall asleep — the complete, unabridged short story The Searchlight by Virginia Woolf, narrated slowly and softly for anyone who can't sleep, lying awake with insomnia, anxiety or a racing mind at three in the morning. A warm, moonless summer night in London. An eighteenth-century mansion is a club now, and after dinner a small party drifts out onto the balcony above the park to drink coffee in the dark. Rods of light wheel across the sky — the Air Force practising, searching for enemy aircraft — sweeping over a stone front, over a chestnut tree in full blossom, and then, for a second, straight across the balcony itself. And Mrs Ivimey says: you'll never guess what that made me see. You can listen offline, any time you wake in the night, in the Anchored app —
