My guests this month are Dr. Bernd-Christian Otto and Andrea Centore, co-founders of the Research Network for the Study of Esoteric Practices, otherwise known as RENSEP. In this discussion, Bernd and Andrea talk about how this network came to be, why it was created, and the exciting work that they are doing. As the name suggests, RENESP is focused on working with practitioners in all areas of esotericism, and fostering the relationships between academic research and real-life practitioners. RENSEP is still in its early stages, having officially launched in 2023, and is a unique resource for both researchers and those outside of academia who are interested to interact with scholars, as well as to help educate the public about esoteric practices. Bernd-Christian Otto (b. 1976) is a scholar of religion. After gaining his PhD in 2009 at the university of Heidelberg (Germany) with an extensive study on the conceptual history of magic, Otto pursued his academic career at various universities, among them Heidelberg, Erfurt, Bochum, Leipzig, Erlangen (Germany) and Bergen (Norway). Otto is co-founder and permanent fellow at the Center for Advanced Studies ‘Alternative Rationalities and Esoteric Practices from a Global Perspective' at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (www.cas-e.de); he is a board member of the European Society for the Study of Western Esotericism (www.esswe.org); and he is co-founder, trustee and scientific director of the Research Network for the Study of Esoteric Practices (www.rensep.org). Otto's research focuses on magic and esotericism, where he combines different methodologies such as conceptual history, discourse analysis, social theory, ritual studies, qualitative interviews, participant observation, and practitioner-scholarship. His book publications include "Defining Magic: A Reader" (Routledge 2013), co-edited with Michael Stausberg; the duograph "Magical Manuscripts in Early Modern Europe: The Clandestine Trade in Illegal Book Collections" (Palgrave MacMillan 2017), co-authored with Daniel Bellingradt; and the anthology "Fictional Practice: Magic, Narration and the Power of Imagination" (Brill 2021), co-edited with Dirk Johannsen. Andrea Centore holds a master's degree in Translation Studies from the University of Mons-Hainaut (Belgium), and a master's degree in Religious Studies from the University of Amsterdam. His research explores the intersection of Jewish and Islamic esotericism through the perspectives of intellectual and global history, with a particular focus on Kabbalah and Sufi lettrism. In addition, Andrea has engaged with texts from a wide range of esoteric traditions including Islamicate occultism, strands of Western esotericism, and Nāth Tantric Yoga. He is the co-founder and managing director of the Research Network for the Study of Esoteric Practices (RENSEP), where one of his key aims is to foster a more systematic dialogue between the academic community and esoteric practitioners. Andrea is also an entrepreneur in the professional services sector. We take a look at the website, and the different options available to the members. Not only are there blog posts and research updates available, but members can also take part in study groups and take part in livestreams with scholars and practitioners alike (titled “ask a scholar” and “ask a practitioner”). Another great opportunity is the ability to meet new people, forming connections with other members to foster communication and learning, growing one's own network of contacts in the process. RENSEP has also just launched an open-access, peer-review journal, too, called Praxis-Knowledge! RENSEP is a fantastic place to share and learn with other people with similar interests, and is one-of-a-kind with regard to online communities that offer grounded, interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed research and a wonderful platform for practitioners to engage with scholars and others who share the same interests. Bernd and Andrea have also very generously offered a 50% discount on membership for all viewers/listeners of Rejected Religion! Use the promo code RR50 when signing up at www.rensep.org! Patreon members also receive special discounts -- Tiers 1& 2 get 70% off on membership, and Tiers 3 & 4 get a FREE membership! This is a fabulous opportunity to join and start learning about esoteric practices, with access to information and resources that usually only are available to those within academia! Members can find their promo codes on the Patreon page. Rejected Religion | Illuminating the Obscure | Patreon My thanks to RENSEP for making this possible! On Thursday September 29th, 2022 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will review and discuss our new book (magazine actually) titled Hermetic Yoga for the Golden Dawn. Which we have just published and is now available on Amazon. This document is a spin-off from our Hermetic Yoga books which are familiar to most members and regular listeners. But for newbies lets review: The O.T.A. and the Church of the Hermetic Sciences have developed (we like to say recovered) a straight-line, seven sphere Tantric Yoga chakra system similar to the Hindu version but laid out Western style with Saturn at the top and the Moon at the bottom in Solar system order. The last survival of this was the Golden Dawn's Middle Pillar exercise for drawing down the Light into the body. We started by bringing down The Flaming Sword from the Book of Revelation and activating Da'ath the phantom sphere in the Golden Dawn's secret Eleven Sphere Tree design. Using other secrets from the old Cypher Manuscript we created a unique full seven chakra system within the Golden Dawn universe, with ancient Egyptian Gods and Rosicrucian Angels. So stay with us and we'll walk you through it.

We're joined by Natalie Joy and Keaton Milburn to help us dive into the latest suntanned drama on this season of Bachelor in Paradise! We then get into the episode itself, opening with Peter and Brittany going on a date that did not end well, talking about how Peter has some fighting words, and Casey fainting. We also debate if Danielle's relationship feels forced, Victoria serving as the voice of reason this season, and the shocking announcement that the women on the beach would be leaving temporarily, leading to a lot of shock and tears. Full episode transcript HERE. “Feminist Buzzkills Live!” is broadcasting LIVE! from Netroots Nation in Pittsburgh this week, with a whole entire live audience, too! Rage and laugh with us as we raise hell and awareness on all the latest updates in the abortion world that you and your uterus need to know. Your Feminist Buzzkills are delivering the bad, the badder, and the not-so-bad news that's been dropping in these reproductive streets. Michigan is still acting up and making headlines for the wrong reasons, while Florida is serving us a tiny sliver of a bright spot. We're exposing Kansas's number one sore loser, who's got his forced-birther head stuck so far up his ass he's willing to put his house and retirement savings on the line to fund a lost cause recount of Kansas's recent win for abortion at the ballot box. Plus, some frauds are trying to exploit and charge pregnant folks for janky $1,500 abortions on a wack “climate-controlled” boat. Refrigerator and microwave included. Joining us in our shenanigans this week is Aurea Bolaños Perea, the strategic communications director at COLOR Latina (Colorado Organization for Latina Opportunity and Reproductive Rights). www.thehouseofmages.com www.instagram.com/daniel.erulian What are the Chakras? What are they used for? How many Chakras are there? Where did they come from? How are they connected to Yoga? What is Tantra, and are the Chakras exclusively Tantric/Tantrik? How does modern occult magick become part of this conversation and is it actually true that the 7 chakras we use today in most modern yoga and neo-tantra practices are an ancient tradition in yoga? All of these questions and more will be addressed in this long awaited episode where Daniel Erulian Cuming delves deeply into and debunks a lot of the common misunderstood ideas and teachings around The Chakras and the 5 elements in Tantric Yoga. Although this talk has been a long time coming, it was largely inspired by the grounded, and groundbreaking scholarly research and teachings of Christopher Hareesh Wallis, Author of Tantra Illuminated. The article by Christopher Wallis titled The Real Story of the Chakras, which inspired the same title of this podcast, can be found here: https://hareesh.org/blog/2016/2/5/the-real-story-on-the-chakras

Dissolving Your Triggers Yoga Nidra This Yoga Nidra was recorded live at Steam House Hot Yoga steamhousenh.com 75 Railroad Ave., Epping NH USA on Oct 18, 2021 by Melissa Abbott melissaabbott.com with Heidi James on the Singing Bowls. This Yoga Nidra is a powerful technique to Process those things keeping you from being in the Flow of the Universe A powerful foundational Tantric Yoga Meditation Practice taken from the illuminated 1000+ year old spiritual masterpiece, "The Pratyabhijna-Hrdraya" also known as The Recognition Sutras. In the Recognition Sutras or The Heart of Recognition, the author, Rajanaka Ksemaraja, gives us useful and practical ways to embrace the whole of our experience of the expanded center, so we can release and surrender our identification with our psychological self, our unresolved past, stories we tell ourselves, mental constructs, and samskaras. Those things that get us triggered and stuck with revolving mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual patterns. In essence this we can move on from our conditioning and touch more deeply within ourselves. This meditation became alive for me a couple of years ago when I took a Recognition Sutras course with Christopher Hareesh Wallis. I had actually been interested and studied this text on and off since 1991. It wasn't until his translation of the actual practices in Chapter 18 that this text spoke so clearly to my actual meditation practice. I started implementing the expanded central channel into my daily meditation sessions and the result has been stunning clarity to embrace the whole of reality. I first received this practice in July 2019 with Christopher Hareesh Wallis at Omega Institute for Holistic Studies during retreat. This is my interpretation of his teachings via Ksemaraja of 1000 years ago. I hope you will experience that the radical acceptance to the nature of reality means surrender to what wants to move though you. This practice has the ability to help you relax out of identification with your stories and patterns and stop clinging to aversions and self images. Christopher Hareesh Wallis is the author of Tantra Illuminated and The Recognition Sutras and his website is Tantrikainstitute.org where you can study Tantric Yoga meditation practices.
This week's episode of Married at First Sight has its fair share of “collar-pull” moments. Sarah's pretty sure that Brett and Ryan's Tantric yoga instructors got more out of the seshion than the new couple. Mary balks at Myrla's peck kiss and wonders if Gil's going to have to wait until their one year anniversary for some tongue. The co-hosts agree that Jose's smirks and snide remarks would've gotten a much different reaction from them than it did from Rachel. Speculation, snark, rage, and of course, lots of laughs. Today, Hilary Jackendoff shares her effortless approach to expansion, evolution and embracing the new paradigm of work. This was a hilariously "difficult" convo on ease and effortlessness and we laughed a lot along the way. We are also both Projectors in human design and dig into the specific challenges this design can face and how we can help lead the way in embracing the shift in how the world works. Episode 116 Krystal Taylor is a certified Tantra yoga instructor who specializes in educating and supporting individuals towards sexual wholeness. Krystal has been teaching yoga since 2011 and practicing Tantra since 2015. Her unique coaching approach involves sharing ancient yogic philosophy, ancestral practices, as well as her own sensual yet down to earth techniques. With these tools, clients can learn to use their sexual energy as a way to fuel their spiritual walk instead of working against it. In a world where there is so much exposure to sexual content, there is very little knowledge of how to address everyday challenges when it comes to our sensual and erotic nature. Most people in modern society have no idea how to properly navigate or nurture their own sexuality in a way that brings balance and peace to their lives, nor are they aware of the psychological, emotional, or spiritual ramifications of not understanding the influence their sexual energy has on every area of their lives. The mission of Krystal's Tantra Coaching techniques is to assist clients in reconnecting with the spiritual richness of their sexual energy that ultimately brings pleasure and healing to an area of their lives that is often misunderstood and shamed. In a Wednesday evening session, the Newbies put up the longest podcast in their Season 1 history and they're not really sure why. Maybe it's because of the excitement of Claire coming home this weekend for the first time since she left for college in Episode 2! The Newbies begin Ep 7 by acknowledging the current BN controversy but announce they will devote a separate episode to that conversation after they each get more informed about the facts. In their recap of Episode 7, the Newbies cover such topics as the nasty turn of attitude towards Heather Martin from the OGs; whether being open to date activities like dangerous driving and tantric yoga are essential to a successful relationship with Matt; whether or not jealousy is green or some other color; the departure of Abigail; and the Queen that is Kit for gracefully departing from her love journey with Matt because she just wasn't feeling it. Just what we had been waiting for !!The Newbies hope you have a couple extra loads of laundry to fold to listen to all of their Ep 7 chatter. Shout out to our special guest Charlie, our blind boxer, who is snoring in the background of this episode.
Discuss Matt James and season 25 episode 7 of The BachelorSpecial thanks to theonlyreallaz for the music "Lounge"
Why did this show spend 30 minutes on the Heather Martin debacle? But only 5 minutes on Bri's life changing decision to be on The Bachelor? And why is this now Mean Girls? Will Matt James really get engaged at the end of this? Why did they not air the daytime date of the group date? Serena P gets a 2nd 1-on-1 date, which we discuss what Tantric Yoga really is. When we knew Jessenia was getting eliminated (and it's not the reason you think). Why we need more Aloe Blacc. And what was up with Rachael's sniffling? Then, at the 21:00 mark, we are joined by the band Temecula Road!! They discuss their performance on Matt & Pieper's date. Some great behind the scenes of getting picked to perform, how long they were there for, how many times they performed, how the song is picked, and 2 hilariously awkward situations they experienced at Nemacolin. Johnno and Richelle are BACK to recap this week's episode of The Bachelor. And, boy, has it been a week. They spend the first half discussing Chris Harrison's "woke police" interview with Rachel Lindsay and the "statements" that followed from Bachelor Nation. Then they get into the episode where Abigail was done DIRTY. Like, what was up with that? Like the Red Wedding, lots of blood was spilled this episode. Sponsored by O'Douls!* **Not a sponsor.

Mary Reilly Nichols holds a BA in anthropology from Harvard University. is the Director of Nalanda Institute’s Yoga, Mind & Spirit and has been teaching yoga from a devotional/experiential perspective for over 30 years. She specializes in direct transmission experiential Yoga with an emphasis on the development of wisdom and direct experience through the lens of the non-duality traditions of Advaita Vedanta, and the Tantric methods of the Trika school of Kashmir Shaivism and Kundalini Yoga. Her meeting in the mid-1970”s with the Siddha Master, Baba Muktananda, a Shaktipat Guru, changed the trajectory of her life. She spent 5 years under Muktananda’s direct tutelage living in his residential ashrams both in India and here in the US. She currently teaches in a diverse range of settings from academia, to yoga studios and Institutes, to stress management in psychiatric clinical settings and is involved in ongoing research on the mind/body benefits of yoga and meditation. Her story is unusual in many ways, but importantly she began her remarkable and often dramatic journey as a very normal young college freshman when the latent Kundalini energy awoke, quite spontaneously while she was studying in her dorm room. She had no interest in spirituality and describes her normalcy in her writings about her awakening on her website, http://www.meditationmary.com/home/ “I first met Shiva one evening in my dorm room during my freshman year at college. It was a few weeks into the first fall semester at Harvard. I had scored a single room as a freshman by claiming on my roommate questionnaire that I was impossible to live with, had erratic sleep habits, and smoked minimally 2 packs a day, which was all true.”“There were a handful of people I knew in those days who meditated but the whole thing held no appeal for me, I thought it looked pointlessly unproductive and boring.”The intensity of her study and depth of her experience is very insightful and instructive, particularly for those who will never meet a true Shaktipat Guru in the physical form. She is adamant about the fact that you can still have a very rich and satisfying relationship with the Supreme Guru who resides in your heart as the essence of your breath. In our conversation, she elaborates on the details of how she engages this divine relationship. This is a conversation not to be missed. In fact, you may find yourself listening to it several times. Go to https://beyondhomosapien.com/tantra/ to read the full blog post about tantra! Tantra is the sacred practice of being one with the divine in every moment. Through the practices of breath-work, mindfulness, willpower, magic, and sexual transmutation, the tantric practitioner weaves their way through life according to the path of tantric mysticism. While studying the different magical schools of the world, I read accounts of tantric Yogis who could perform incredible feats of magical ability. Tantric masters might be able to become invisible, levitate, or conduct incredible acts of sexual passion. Although I have never practiced tantra too closely myself, I have always been interested in learning more. This post documents my process of learning more about tantra and how this powerful practice can help our lives here in 2020! Tantra is a magical practice. Through the focus of willpower and intend, the tantric Yogi can influence their reality through the power of their mind. This anyway, is the idea and the promise of the Tantric path. There is much more to tantra than just tantric sex. In all, the practice seems to focus around ideas of breath-work, mindfulness, and connection with the divine. In this way, it might be similar to Kundalini Yoga. However, tantra differs in nature due to its focus on working with partners in either Tantric Yoga, tantric sex, or similar practices. Tantra is a lifelong practice that brings many to a greater understanding of their place in the universe. In this post, we will explore tantra together and include interviews with experts on the topic of tantric sex, the tantra archetype, and breath-work! Tantra is a cosmic archetype that exists in the collective consciousness. Kevin Orosz is here today on the Beyond Homo Sapien Podcast to discuss Tantra and how it has influenced his life. Kevin is a spiritual practitioner and a Yogi who has traveled the world to study Tantra and similar practices. These days, he is working to plan tantra retreats and similar events. Kevin is also pursuing his musical career, practicing intimacy with his partner, and running his online coaching business. Find out more about Kevin Orosz at this link: https://kevinorosz.com/

Today we will be practicing a short seated Energy Circuit Meditation technique. Designed to be balancing and nourishing, activating your subtle prana shakti energy body. Especially good for headaches, sleeplessness, restlessness, anxiety or whenever you need to balance your energy during the day. This meditation opens specific channels in your subtle body to direct your unfocused energy into a relaxed, uplifted, nurtured, and steadied energy body, helping you to repair your cells and restructure your Mind, Body, Spirit Balance within. Find a quiet seated position in a place you will not be disturbed for 10-12 minutes. You can sit on the floor or a chair, you could even do this in your parked car between appointments if needed. Use your headphones and work to relax as much as possible as you use this Tantric Yoga Visualization Technique to revitalize yourself. In this meditation we have added optional mantra and uddiya bandha techniques to the practice to further the entrainment of the process during meditation. Use what you are comfortable with and leave the rest behind. The Energy Circuit Meditation will uplift and activate your subtle pranic energies leading to a balanced state of consciousness. This meditation can be done several times a week or whenever you feel the calling to do it. Welcome back my Clan of the Crave Bears! I'm getting married next week! Yes, I am. We just wanted something low-key and stress-free, so we are getting married at the park a couple blocks from home and then walking to our favorite neighborhood restaurant for our favorite meal - brunch! It's an exciting time and we just really want it to be a special time with our family and friends. This past weekend I went to a couple of seminars for my own benefit and wow, was it intense! I had a family constellations workshop, with really allowed me to connect with my family lineage and work through emotions and habits, and it was very nice. Then it was off to a Tantric Yoga class, which was definitely more intense, but a great way to spend a Sunday. I wanted to talk with you about two things today, I’ve got a great interview with my dear friend: Dr. Anna Cabeca coming up, ah, Dr. Anna is an amazing hormone expert, I’m so thrilled to have her on the show, but she’s also kinda on my board of advisors, I meet with her and also a couple of other women, and couple times a month we do a Skype date and we talk about our businesses and how we can support each other, and I’m always learning so much from her, so be sure to stay tuned through the end, cause we’re gonna be talking about menopause and hormones and even if you’re not in menopause or pre or peri-menopause, what you can be doing now, so that your hormones are balanced, so that you feel good, so that you can get rid of your brain fog, huge, huge topic so stay through to the end with my interview with Dr. Anna Cabeca.
