Shiva Rea is credited as a key popularizer of modern yoga in the United States: She transformed the physical practice and in so doing, helped to define our mainstream conception of what yoga “is.” In this episode, we discuss the roots of her Prana Vinyasa style, the aesthetic evolution of yoga chicks from the 1980s to now, yoga's waning counter-cultural status, and why the knee-jerk response to accusations of cultural appropriation—to further divide the spiritual from the physical—does no one any good. Discussed: “Planet Yoga,” Vanity Fair (2007) “Yoga Without Love Beads” LA Times (1987) “Tending the Sacred Fire” Shiva at Burning Man (2011) “The power of embodying your energetic heart” Shiva's TEDxMalibu talk (2014) Shiva Rea Yoga | Earth Flow Practice Shiva Rea Yoga | Dancing Warrior Special thanks to Michelle Chambers, (E-RYT 500, MPA, Pulse Yoga Collective), Kristen Lynch, and Becky Simon for all their help on this ep!
Join me on this episode with our guest speaker, Alessandra Montana, who is connecting with us from Milano, Italy. I met Alessandra many years ago at a Yoga Teacher Training in Venice, California, and we immediately became friends. Alessandra is a Sound Keeper, a Vibrational Alchemist, Sound Keeper, Gong Master, a Reiki therapist, and a Yoga Teacher, deeply connected with the Energy of Mother Earth and with a soulful interest in indigenous traditions, old-times fairy tales, and angels. Alessandra is trained ( Saul David Raye, Shiva Rea) in Bhakti & Hatha Yoga, and through her love for Kirtan, she started her journey into the magic Universe of Sound and Vibrations by taking on the studies with pioneers in sound healing and with the Grand Gong Master Don Conreaux. Alessandra has been offering Sound Journey for the past 10 years and teaching the mastery of the Gong ( in Tulum, internationally, and online) for the past 5 years. Her work has been mentioned in Yoga Journal USA, 66 Minutes ( M6- French television), NewYork Times, Vogue Uomo (Italy), and Hollywood Reporter, to mention a few. She was chosen as private sound therapist for the Grateful Dead band, for the fans of Dave Matthews Band, The Phish during their Mexican tour, and as well for the virtual launch of the 2020 virtual Festival of Cannes. During pregnancy, the physical changes come in fast, and sometimes, furious! A great way to tune into these changes and create more body awareness is through “yoga asanas”, which are movements and poses from the ancient Indian tradition that promote physical & mental wellbeing. Prenatal yoga is becoming more popular these days as research and science points to the immense benefits of healthy and safe movements for birthing individuals. Not only can it help pregnant people throughout each trimester, but it can also assist in a smoother birth as well!In the show today, we have Deb Flashenberg, the founder and director of the Prenatal Yoga Center in NYC. Deb advocates for how yoga poses can help create more balance in the body so that birth flows better and there is less obstruction for the baby. She talks about “mock contractions” in her yoga classes that help her clients prepare for 60-seconds of physical and mental challenge during labor and delivery.Along with being a prenatal yoga teacher, Deb is also a labor support doula, Lamaze childbirth educator, mother of two and self proclaimed "birth and anatomy geek”. Deb received her first vinyasa yoga certification with Shiva Rea and then added to her education by completing the OM Yoga advance yoga teacher training with Cyndi Lee. After the challenging birth of her first child, Deb became incredibly interested in pelvic health and has since earned her Pelvic Floor Yoga Certification with Leslie Howard. For the past 7 years, Deb has also greatly enjoyed being the host of the podcast, Yoga | Birth | Babies, where she speaks with some of the world's leading experts in pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and parenthood. Currently, Deb is knee deep in Dr. Sarah Duvall's Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist program and pursuing the Spinning Babies Parent Educator certification and loving every minute of it! In this episode of The Mama Psychedelia, I welcome the first papa to the show, Robin Clements, a dear brother and teacher of mine in the realms of conscious breath and life. In this conversation we hear some of Robin's life journey coming to conscious connected breath, love and fatherhood. He shares with us his own experiences as a birth partner and witness of his beautiful wife Eden (mama on episode 2 of the show) and his experience welcoming his two angelic babies to this earth. He talks about breath as a guide for regulation, realization & transformation. We dive into prayer, ceremony, elder wisdom, and Breathwave as a supportive measure and profound integration tool for pregnancy and parenthood. We talk about the reality that can exist within spiritual communities, of seeking the next heightened experience, and how much medicine exists within presence with our bodies and attuning with our innate wisdom within. Robin began to bridge science and spirituality at four years old when he received open heart surgery. His gift is guiding people back to the light of truth within their own heart. With twenty-three years of experience guiding Breathwork, Robin has refined the art of consciousness connected breathing into a gentle practice for anyone. Today, Laura catches up with her dear friend, fellow competitive platform diver, and bridesmaid in her wedding, Cristi Christensen. Originally an elite-level gymnast, Cristi went on to train with the US Olympic diving team as a young adult. After an injury cut her Olympic dreams short, Cristi shifted her focus to helping others improve their level of fitness through personal training, Pilates, Core Fusion, and yoga. In addition to a degree in Kinesiology, Cristi has studied extensively for over 10 years with world-renowned teachers including Saul David Raye, Shiva Rea, Seane Corn, Elisabeth Halfpapp, and Fred DeVito. Cristi begins by sharing what inspired her to get into gymnastics, her journey to becoming an elite gymnast, her transition to diving, and the injuries that ultimately ended her Olympic dreams. She goes on to describe what drove her to yoga, how it changed her, and why she eventually began teaching it. Cristi also details her experience as a global traveling yoga teacher, how the pandemic caused her to pivot yet again, and the outcome of her most recent pivot. The episode draws to a close with an overview of Cristi's work to expand the definition of wellness and well-being, and how her style of yoga brings her back to how she grew up. Cristi's story of responding to injuries with her determination to bounce back, keep learning and moving forward will captivate and inspire all who listen into this fascinating conversation today. Episode Highlights: Cristi's transition from being an elite gymnast to an elite diver Diving injuries ended her dream of the Olympics, just as they'd ended her gymnastics career How Cristi's pain and anxiety drove her to yoga How yoga changed her Cristi begins to teach fitness classes, but she refused to teach yoga What changed her mind? How flying by the seat of her pants helped launch her career as a global traveling yoga teacher How the pandemic forced Cristi to pivot yet again The outcome of Cristi's most recent pivot Cristi's work to expand the definition of wellness and well-being How Cristi's style of yoga, which incorporates dance and music, brings her back to how she grew up Quotes: “My mom was like ‘No more. No more. I know it's your dream but we're not risking you being paralyzed.' And there was no pushing… that was the end of my gymnastics career.” “That's just so quick though, too. I mean, you go for a summer, doing a sport you've never done, and you just decide to move for your last two years of high school. Like, that's pretty intense. But it sounds like that's kind of the way you roll.” “I did shatter my left hand into a million pieces. Basically, I had three metal plates and 22 screws to put it back together.” “And that's where joy, like a joy of movement, started coming back. My body was healing, I was connecting to my breath.” “But now I had a new lens on it, because the practice I was doing was healing me and I wanted to be able to share that with others… I taught tons of different fitness classes and was still doing yoga as my personal practice… yoga really opened me up in a way that I didn't even know I was closed.” “Every time you show up and do it, those voices will get smaller.” “I had some really bizarre instances that just made it so, so clear that the way I was living and the way I was working were no longer in alignment.” “I got to a point where the fear of if I failed was much smaller than the fear of actually staying and staying small and staying trapped in something.” “Over the years it evolved… how could something that was so right, now be something that's actually a detriment to the evolution of my career or the evolution of where in my soul I believe I wanted to go?” “I just thought I was going to be hanging out in LA for six months, like figuring it out… but as the opportunities came, I was like, ‘Well, I just have to say yes'.” “I didn't realize I had all my eggs in one basket; I thought I was diversified.” “Everything I teach is based off of ‘how can we use this as a map for our own empowerment, our own awakening, so that we can live a life that is full of color and rich in love and passion and freedom, but really be grounded in this very human experience and be able to deal with everything that life brings?'” “The whole idea was to share women's stories… I want more women's voices to be heard. I want more kids growing up to have more access to role models from different backgrounds.” “I'm not teaching a routine. It's not like ‘5, 6, 7, 8'. It's actually getting you to a place that you feel free enough to express and to move and to breathe, and just enjoy the aliveness and the power pulsing through your body - letting it move, letting the emotions move, letting everything just flow. And it's super powerful and super fun!” Pursuit of Gold Podcast is brought to you by Kaatsu Global. Natarajana / King Dancer / Lord of the Dance Pose, more commonly referred to simply as “Dancer,” is an iconic and challenging yoga pose that invites us to discover our own courage and compassion. Shiva-as-Nataraj is classically depicted standing atop a mischievous gnome as he dances and plays a drum. A cobra winds around Shiva's neck, his dreadlocks swirl around his head, a ring of fire encircles him, a flame also burns in the palm of his hand. Dancer is a standing one-legged balancing shape, where one foot is lifted behind us, grasped by the hand as we tip forward and reach the other arm forward. It can be a very confronting but rewarding pose and today on the podcast, on the blog, and in the accompanying YouTube video I provide some variations and modifications to help you find dancer pose that allows you to experience all of its benefits. I'm Blythe Stephens, and that's what we're exploring today in episode 64 of the A Blythe Coach Podcast providing weekly dance education & coaching to move through life with balance, grace, & power! About Cristi: Cristi Christensen is a Global Embodiment Coach, whose mission is to empower women and expand their definitions of yoga and well-being. She's the creator of Soul Fire, a unique style of yoga that incorporates dance, meditation and mudra practices to awaken and empower you. Additionally, she's the co-founder of the Asia-based Kirana Yoga School and US-based Deep Exhale, a transformational experience merging the worlds of breath, music & movement. Cristi's first book, Chakra Rituals: Awakening the Wild Woman Within (8/10/21 - St. Martin's Press) is a self-help guide that makes the ancient science of Chakras accessible through a seven-week step-by-step program. Cristi was born in Brooklyn, New York, spent her adolescence in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and moved to Orlando, Florida for high school. Growing up, Cristi suffered from multi-generational abuse and battled an eating disorder for over 10 years. She used movement to mentally escape her troubles and was on stage performing dance with the North Carolina School of the Arts, while simultaneously training in gymnastics at 10 years old. At 16, Cristi transitioned to platform diving and eventually as a young adult trained with the US Olympic diving team. Cristi's Olympic dreams were cut short and her spirit was crushed after a devastating back injury. Determined to heal her body and reignite her spirit, she embarked on a path of spiritual discovery and was brought to her first yoga class. There, Cristi shifted her focus towards healing herself, while helping others heal and awaken through embodiment movement (yoga, Pilates, personal training, dance, and meditation). After earning her degree in Kinesiology (the study of the mechanics of body movements), Cristi studied extensively for over 15 years with world-renowned teachers such as Shiva Rea and Seane Corn. Today, Cristi holds 500-hour certificates in both Atma Yoga and Rasa Yoga and a 200-hour certificate in Journey Dance. She is Level 1 & 2 certified in Reiki and achieved 200-hour certifications in Core Fusion Barre Teacher Trainer, Stout Pilates, Radiance Sutras Meditation Teacher Training and Liberation Experience. Additionally, she was certified as an ACE Personal Trainer. For 10 years, Cristi served as the Director of the internationally renowned Exhale Center for Sacred Movement in Venice, CA. Cristi's leadership corresponded with the studio's rise to fame, as it became the epicenter of yoga and set the foundation for yoga in the Western world. She's taught in 20 countries around the globe to tens of thousands of women. When not traveling the world for business or pleasure, Cristi is based in Los Angeles, CA. In this episode we are talking to Anne, full time yoga teacher and mindfulness teacher. For her Yoga is all about creating space, your own Bubble, it is a tool to open us up and reconnect emotionally, physically, mentally. It doesn't matter why you come to a yoga, or what takes you there.Trying to persuade anyone to do yoga is not the path to yoga, the benefits of yoga can be googled, but at the end it is all about the experience. If someone comes to studio to do work out, do split or simply create space, it doesnt matter, whatever brings you to the room first time, we trust something else will happen. The magic of yoga will arrive.Almost every time you just get onto mat, it is a way to check in, to realise the impermanence of things. We talk, why yoga, what has changed in terms of the yoga industry, how do yoga teachers keep their cap full, that it doesnt matter where you do yoga.About Anne in her own words:I am here to help you create more space for yourself;Through Yoga to bring movement to your body & reconnect to your breath;Through Mindfulness to quiet the mind & find more balance to navigate the real world;Through Community to create meaningful connections & empower each other to grow. Born & raised in France, I started to practice yoga in 2011 in the middle of an always-on-the-go marketing corporate life. This encounter rapidly turned into a love story, an essential part of my lifestyle, a place of constant exploration & inspiration! Realising how much clarity & truth yoga brought to my life – and as ‘love is the only thing that grows when shared’ (A. de St-Exupéry) – I decided to step out of my corporate role & share what I know & am passionate about with others.Since 2015, you’ll find me teaching Yoga & Mindfulness in studios rooms, business offices, schools & universities or private living spaces, besides running my own studio 'Bubble Yoga' in St. Gallen, Switzerland.I aim to inspire my students to believe in their own capacity to grow & know themselves. The Upreneur podcast has partnered up with SCORE, hosted by Jeremy Straub, to help bring engaging conversations with today’s top leaders and business owners. In today’s episode, we sat down with Paige Held, Founder & CEO of Yoga Joint, and talked about how she pivoted her business and started offering virtual online yoga classes. Paige talks about surrounding your self with the right people in order to follow your passion and how she built a culture and community around her business. Paige Held is the co-owner and founder of Yoga Joint and has been teaching yoga for 22 years. Paige embarked on her yoga journey at the young age of 16 in South Florida. Five years into her practice at 20 years old, she became certified to teach yoga and has spent numerous hours continuing her yoga education through attending workshops, intensives, retreats and other teacher trainings working with some of the most globally renowned yoga teachers. Ten years into her teaching career, Paige created Hot Fusion Flow, her own unique and innovative style of yoga which was developed alongside her best friend Kelly Green. This style of yoga blends and gains inspiration from various styles of yoga such as Bikram, Ashtanga, Power Yoga, Anusara, and Shiva Rea. Paige’s intention in her yoga classes is to utilize the physical exercise to bring mental awareness to a heightened state where her students are then able to realize where they are mentally, physically, and emotionally in their surroundings and to respond rather than to react. She is constantly encouraging her students to let go, have fun and find freedom in their bodies, minds and spirits. She draws much of her inspiration as a yoga teacher from her most important role as a mother to her 2 children and 2 stepchildren. Her classes are physically challenging and mentally enlightening with the goal of enabling real people to better manage real life situations. Episode 125 of the podcast comes to you LIVE from Bhakti Fest 2018. Dive in deep to many core topics of life in the modern world as seen through the spiritual and sometimes scientific viewpoints of Deepak Chopra, Shiva Rea and Jai Uttal. These three are icons of Eastern Spirituality as it's practiced in the West. Between the three of them they have touched countless thousands of people striving to understand their place in this wild world and how to better their relationship in it. I moderated the panel in front of a packed house that was full of beaming energy and tons of love. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Intro rant - The poison as a result of injecting dogmatic religion into spiritual gatherings. Jai Uttal - Jai Uttal (born June 12, 1951) is an American musician. He is a Grammy-nominated singer and “a pioneer in the world music community with his eclectic East-meets-West sound.” He is a “sacred music composer, recording artist, multi-instrumentalist, and ecstatic vocalist, [who] combines influences from India with American rock and jazz to create a stimulating and exotic multicultural fusion that is truly world spirit music.” Shiva Rea - Movement is life for Shiva Rea, M.A, global prana vinyasa teacher, activist, and innovator in the evolution of vinyasa yoga around the world from large-scale festivals and conferences to unplugged retreats. She has taught thousands of students, teachers, and movers and shakers how to integrate yoga as a way of life. As founder of Prana Vinyasa & Samudra Global School for Living Yoga, she integrates the roots of vinyasa, yoga, ayurveda, and tantra in creative and life-transforming online courses, workshops, retreats, and trainings. Her studies in the Krishnamacharya lineage, kalarippayatu, world dance, yogic arts, and somatic movement infuse her approach to living yoga and embodying the flow. Shiva has collaborated across many fields and is known for offering the synthesis form of Vinyasa Flow throughout the world, bringing the roots of yoga alive for modern practitioners in creative, dynamic, and life-transforming ways for over 25 years around the globe. Deepak Chopra - Chopra studied medicine in India before emigrating to the United States in 1970 where he completed residencies in internal medicine and endocrinology. As a licensed physician, he became chief of staff at the New England Memorial Hospital (NEMH) in 1980.[7] He met Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in 1985 and became involved with the Transcendental Meditation movement (TM). He resigned his position at NEMH shortly thereafter to establish the Maharishi Ayurveda Health Center.[8] Chopra gained a following in 1993 after he was interviewed on The Oprah Winfrey Show about his books.[9] He then left the TM movement to become the executive director of Sharp HealthCare's Center for Mind-Body Medicine and in 1996 he co-founded the Chopra Center for Wellbeing.

In this episode of “Yoga | Birth | Babies,” I take off my interviewer hat and become the guest speaker! For the past 17 years I have had the joy and honor of leading group yoga classes as well as teacher trainings. In this podcast, I breakdown the principles from which I teach and train other teachers. For those who are new to teaching or just students who want to better understand my methodology, I hope you enjoy! In this episode, I cover: The importance of seeing your students! Learning from your best teachers, your students. The pros and cons of demonstrating. Know your demographic: who you are teaching and how they best learn. Don’t be afraid to correct and adjust a student Hand on adjustments- does everyone need to be adjusted? Know why you are touching a student – your hands should be giving information as to how to stabilize or go deeper in a pose. Don’t ignore the student who needs the most attention because you are overwhelmed by their poses. My personal pet peeve- massage or little creepy adjustments. Teach! Don’t just recite memorized cues – or shout out poses. Intelligent sequencing – how do poses relate to one another. Using music- it should add to the underlying flow and drive of the rhythm About Deb : Deb is a graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music with a degree in Musical Theater. She has spent most of her life performing and was introduced to yoga through a choreographer in 1997. After several years as a yoga student, she decided to continue her education and became certified as a Bikram Yoga instructor. In 2001 Deb headed out to Seattle to study with renowned prenatal yoga teacher Colette Crawford, R.N., at the Seattle Holistic Center. Deb has received certification for Vinyasa Yoga from Shiva Rea as well as completed the OM Yoga advanced teacher training with Cyndi Lee in 2004. Deb has also studied the Maternal Fitness Method with Julie Tupler. Deb currently studies with Cyndi Lee, Genevieve Kapular, and Carrie Owerko. After being witness to several “typical” hospital births, Deb felt it was important to move beyond the yoga room and be present in the birthing room. In 2003, Deb attended her first birth as a DONA certified labor support doula. In that short period of time, Deb has attended about 100 births. She is continuously in awe of the beauty and brilliance of birth. In 2006, Deb received her certification as a Lamaze® Certified Childbirth Educator. In September of 2007, Deb completed a Midwife Assistant Program with Ina May Gaskin, Pamela Hunt and many of the other Farm Midwives at The Farm Midwifery Center in Tennessee. Drawing on her experience as a prenatal yoga teacher, labor support doula, childbirth educator and mother, Deb looks to establish a safe, effective and empowering class for pregnancy and beyond. In April 2016, Deb had the honor of being a presenter at the Yoga Journal Live New York Conference. Deb is the proud (and tired!) mother of her son Shay and daughter Sage. Taoist Manimal Podcast Ep. 41 Candace Stevens "It all started with George Harrison. In 2003, I was introduced to and promptly fell in love with The Beatles. The moment I heard the song "Within You Without You", I became deeply curious about yogic philosophy and approaches to life. My first college summer, I took a yoga class at a local community college. The desire to more deeply understand reality ultimately led me to earn a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy (as well as one in Communication) from Villanova University in 2008. I wanted to find a a way to apply my desire to explore and communicate about the deeper questions in life in a way that could serve others, which led me to earn my Master's Degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from Chestnut Hill College in 2012. While I was earning my degree, I also completed my first teacher training in 2010, and immediately began teaching. I very quickly saw the importance of connecting yoga and mental health, and over the next few years studied with researchers in the budding field (such as Bo Forbes and Bessel van der Kolk) to learn as much as I could about how to heal the mind through the body. A very important component of what I do is shaped by my primary teacher, Shiva Rea, who Iâve been studying with since 2012. Studying with Shiva has helped me more deeply feel the poetry behind postures, understand the healing power of free-form movement, and deepen my understanding of the evolution of sequencing, towards both physical and energetic outcomes. I was deeply shaped by my clinical work, particularly with women who had experienced trauma from domestic abuse. I came to appreciate freedom and empowerment much more deeply, and apply what I learned in nearly everything I do professionally. I also spent a year working as a trauma-specialized family therapist. Something I love about young children is that they don't yet have the self-consciousness yet, because they haven't faced much rejection yet, to hold back from simply asking someone to be their friend on the playground. That's how I felt when Tasha Blank and I connected, and the playground was Instagram. The conversation basically went, "Hey I like how you be via your photos and your words, let's be friends." And once I heard her story, I had to have her on the podcast. Today's conversation is the result of a new, innocent, and friendly desire to connect with a kindred soul. We get into altering brain chemistry without using substances, dance as a path to connection, how life is full of maps and it's up to us to discover new territories. This is a really fun one. I know you will discover dormant parts of yourself as you listen and I can't wait to hear what comes up when you do! About Tasha Blank: Founder of New York City's legendary afterwork party The Get Down + force behind the global Deep House Yoga movement, Tasha has been a pioneer of positive club culture for nearly a decade. She creates interactive sonic experiences that catalyze everything from underground warehouse parties and music festivals to morning raves and bass-heavy yoga events, and believes that dance is the quickest path to love in the here + now. Whether bringing in musicians for spontaneous jams at festivals, or collaborating with her performance group The Get Down Crew to create infectiously high energy atmospheres, she works frequently with a wide range of live musicians including cellists, electric violinists, percussionists, full horn sections, beat boxers and MCs. Her work with traditional African musicians has brought polyrhythms to 4 on the floor, and her live layered vocals add a soaring beauty and depth to both her deep minimal and big room tribal sonic journeys. Her DJ sets meet you in the moment + invite you on a physio-sonic trip into a newer, bigger you. Clients, collaborations and features have included Cielo, Output, YouAreSoLucky, FunkBox, Envision Festival, Lightning in a Bottle, Burning Man, House of Yes, Google, Adidas, Samsung, W Hotel, Daybreaker, Luna bar, Yoga Journal, Wanderlust Festival, Lululemon, Elena Brower, Shiva Rea, Stephanie Snyder, DailyMail, Summit Series, Thump, New York Magazine, Thrillist, Refinery29, Flavorpill, Elephant Journal, Mantra Magazine, and MindBodyGreen. Her weekly emails deliver inspirational words and extraordinary beats to thousands of music-hungry dancing maniacs. And more than anything: she wants to see you let wild your most liberated badassery. In this episode, Tasha shares: 1. Finding yourself using dance as a path to connection 2. Discerning and interest from a calling 3. Languageless knowing - what it is and how you may experience it

My dear friend, brother, teacher and all around inspiration Govind Das stops by the kitchen table to talk with me about what yoga means in a 21st Century application, the path of bhakti, how to combat the Maya, embracing ones dharma and finding compassion in these troubling times. Govind Das is truly one of the great American yoga teachers and you should check out his classes and offerings whenever possible. INTRO TOPIC - my confusion around the new age community and the recent police brutality events. Govind Das first came to yoga while living in Los Angeles in 1994 because of health concerns- specifically ulcerative colitis/crohn's/inflammatory bowel disease... After years of many different practices with the intention of healing(hatha yoga, ayurveda, buddhist meditation etc), Ira Rosen found his yogic "home' in the path of Bhakti Yoga... the aspect of yoga frequently described as the "yoga of the heart" or "the yoga of love and devotion". Not by avoiding or denying our life and health challenges, but only by accepting and courageously moving through and forward, the flower of our full appreciation and devotion to Life blooms. It is in this tradition of "Bhakti/Devotion" where Ira was given his spiritual name- Govind Das or simply "Govindas" which means "servant of the Divine"... This path of service is at the root of his spiritual life- to serve the Love and Spirit that lives in the hearts of all. His journey has led him to India on 5 different occasions to immerse himself in the ways of the yoga tradition at the Ashram of his "Guru" or main spirtual teacher- Neem Karoli Baba, as well as spending time in holy yogic places like Vrindavan, Varanasi, Rishikesh and many more... Through his journeys to the "motherland of yoga"- India, Govindas has been blessed to enjoy the "darshan" or be in the company of many yogic saints, sadhus, and wise teachers- It is from these transmissions that Govindas shares the authenticity of the Bhakti path... As well Govindas would like to express heartfelt gratitude to his yoga teachers here in California - Bryan Kest, Saul David Raye, Shiva Rea, and Mark Whitwell... and bow to his Bhakti and Kirtan teachers Ram Dass, Jai Uttal, Bhagavan Das, Krishna Das, Shyam Das, Raghu Markusand many many more... www.bhaktiyogashala.com
