Welcome to the 714! 100 episodes. I still remember the day we recorded the 1st one, nervous yet filled with excitement, naive yet ready for adventure. It still feels unreal that we made it this far, because I never really kept track. Every week is a new adventure, every time I hit record, put on my headphones, and laugh my ass off for a few hours. In those moments there isn't a worry in my mind, I feel at peace with myself. And I'm glad I get to share all of it with you. We've made it to 100 episodes and so in celebration of this Ben is joined by Tom Bland and Juliet Scott to look back through the first 99 episodes.
Today's episode is all about starting a podcast and publishing more than 100 episodes. What does that take? What does it look like? What sort of results can you expect? Wow - that's a lot of questions. Let's take a quick look at it and see what our journey was like. Before we get started, I want to set the scene. The very first episode we recorded was with the team at Social INK. We didn't have a name for the podcast. No Website. No domain URL. NOTHING. The only thing we knew was that we wanted to start, record and publish a podcast within 30 days. Yep, that's right. That's how we started. If you've followed Social INK over the past couple of years, you'll have seen some of our crazy internal challenges. This was no different. The reason I'm being a bit nostalgic and going back to this is simply to reinforce this. "Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can!"Arthur AsheI love this quote. And we live by it! Sure, since then we've moved the needle. The podcast audience is growing, slowly but surely. The production quality is getting better. It's all about small incremental improvements. So, if you're thinking of starting a podcast, I'll leave you with what Eugene Kan said to me in Episode 10. "If you weren't getting paid for it, would you want to keep doing it?"Eugene KanIf the answer is yes, then you know what you need to do. Whether it's a YouTube channel, a podcast or blog posts, it doesn't matter. You'll be amazed how quickly a year will pass, and suddenly you'll be hitting milestones too. I hope you all stay safe.Enjoy!A huge thank you to Campaign Refinery for sponsoring this episode. Check out the amazing email marketing automation tool they've created. Please subscribe, rate and review, and find us @AllAboutDigMar on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to share your thoughts. The All About Digital Marketing Podcast is brought to you by Social INK, a digital marketing consultancy on a mission to put the social back into social media.
Today's episode is all about 5 of your favourite (the most popular) episodes. That's right, making it to 100 episodes seemed crazy when we started recording back in July 2019. But here we are. So we've grabbed some clips from the top 5 most listened to episodes. If you're thinking about starting a podcast, always remember what Eugene Kan said to us on the show "would you keep doing this if you weren't getting paid"? It's an important question and it applies to everything in your marketing. Loving the process is what's most important. The top 5 episodes that we've taken clips from are: Ep.10 – Storytelling and Creativity for Brands with Eugene KanEp.37 – Social Media, Content Marketing, SEO and So Much More with Olga AndrienkoEp.21 – Marketing for Freelancers, Solopreneurs, and Going Old School with Gary LewisEp.7 – SEO for Small Business with Konstantinos NtoukakisEp.64 – Understanding Your Audience with Mike & GabyWe couldn't include everything from each of these conversations, and they're all FILLED with incredible insights and shared experiences. The episode would have ended up lasting hours if we had. But we're hoping you'll hear something useful to help you in your business. Remember, you can find the full episodes on our website or on your favourite podcasting app. It's been an amazing journey, creating podcasts all for nearly 18 months so far. The connections and conversations we've ended up having have been awesome. So a massive shoutout to ALL our guest and a huge thank you to YOU! Everybody that's subscribed, listened and enjoyed our content. I hope you all stay safe.Enjoy!A huge thank you to Campaign Refinery for sponsoring this episode. This week on the podcast, we have a very special episode. Episode 100! And if you are at all interested in what Agency Dealmasters does and where it’s going, then you will find this conversation fascinating. This time the tables are turned and we get our awesome editor Chis Blaszczyk to interview me. I just want to say firstly, thank you so much for listening, subscribing, and supporting us so far. This is number 100 and it’s crazy to think how far we’ve come. We started the podcast on 20th January 2019. It’s been the greatest learning experience of my life and it’s been so awesome and humbling to speak to so many of you listening. We have such an amazing community here at Agency Dealmasters and it’s only growing. Looking back on the last 100 episodes, it been just a tsunami of knowledge shared and wisdom on not just how to grow an agency business, or any business for that matter but we’ve learned so much about life and success and failure, how we should think about all those things. My favourite part of the show is when we get the business out of the way and I ask the questions I really want to ask about their favourite books, mentors, Netflix or Amazon, lessons for young people and what they know now looking back on their careers. Nothing that I’ve done in my life has made me grow as much as this has. I’ve made some awesome friends along the way and built an amazing business in the process which you will hear more about in the show. We’ve had thousands of downloads, we’re live in 51 different countries. I know business has been done on the back of the podcast which makes me really happy. It’s just been a lot of fun. Because it’s number 100 we thought we would change things a bit and get Chis Blaszczyk our awesome editor and just general badass to interview me. I’ve known Chris for years and he’s recently joined the company. We met at a boxing gym, he’s super fit, but like me he’s all about personal and professional development, reads a lot, listens to podcasts and he’s on his own growth journey. Her was super nervous when I suggested this, but after he thought about it for a while he came back and agreed to do it, which I appreciate because this is way out of his comfort zone. But as I’ve discoed over 100 episodes, these uncomfortable things are the things that force you to grow. And he has grown so much in his little time here and I can’t wait to see how much more he grows here. I just want to say again, thank you, thank you, thank you for all your help and encouragement and support and listening. We haven’t put any paid behind this at all so it’s all come from you telling your friends and colleagues about the show. So I really appreciate it. We’re building something truly amazing here at Agency Dealmasters and I’m really grateful for your support. Here’s to 100 more. Enjoy the chat.

Ben and Garth review the Wikipedia page for 100 episodes. It’s Wiki Reviews 100th and final episode, but stay tuned there is still more to come. Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath funded Monty Python but Silver Chair won’t give us anything. Behind the scenes on the Christmas Specials, the YouTube Channel and Mickey Flykick. Get Sharx! What if the Matrix and Terminator crossed over? Jim Carey has had his ups and downs, but do you know of Portobello Road? You will never see Panty Steeling Giraffe Jerry. It’s finally here, our 100th episode! The show has undergone some changes here and there, between old hosts leaving, new hosts coming in, and new segments being introduced, but the spirit of geekiness has endured and we’ve all had a lot of fun with the topics we cover! That being said, in the last 100 episodes, there have been times that have stuck out to us, either because it was a subject near and dear to our hearts, because something stuck out to us while doing research, or because we just had extra fun putting it all together for you. So join us as we reminisce about the past! Also included in this episode is Lindsay’s announcement about thinkgeek.com’s closure, a strange human anatomy fact that Emily learned, and Elisabeth’s foray into the lore of the world of Thedas as she’s been playing Dragon Age.

We are celebrating our 100th episode! We can’t believe we’ve reached this amazing milestone. All because of all of you, thank you for your support, thank you for downloading, listening, sharing, commenting and all of that good stuff. Your comments and encouragement keep us going. We did something a little differently, we went live on Instagram completely off script to connect with you, our audience. We talked about how the show got started and how we sat on this idea for quite a few months before actually just doing it. It goes to show you, the world is in need of whatever idea you’re sitting on. We also share about our time abroad, and how we lived in a three bedroom two bath house (with all the fixings) for under $600 a month. You’ll listen to the changes we’ve experienced, the community we’ve encountered and all of the connections we’ve made over time. In this episode, you’ll be inspired by the following: 1. Don’t sit on your ideas, just get it out there no matter how messy it may seem. 2. You don’t need to completely sell all of your things, just do a trial run to test out what living abroad feels like. 3. Continue to tap into your network for support. You never know who might be able to support you along your journey. Thank you again! Be sure to leave us a review, send us an email, DM. anything, we’d love to support you as much as you’ve supported us. So tune in! Share this post with someone who you think will benefit from it. Before you go… If you’ve ever thought about moving abroad because you’re in need of a change, maybe you’re feeling unfulfilled, maybe you know there’s something more for your life but you’re just not sure. So you might be feeling overwhelmed unsure where or how to start. Maybe you have more questions than answers. We created this webinar just for you. Watch the webinar. It's time to celebrate! Four years ago when we started this podcast we had absolutely no clue what we were doing (DON'T listen to episode one) and were doing it to get on the 'bandwagon' as it were. Now it's 100 episodes later and we're still here, still talking way too much and too long about movies, and we're still friends. We've delivered the goods with this 4+ hour show where we get the opportunity to talk about our favourite podcasting moments as well as deciding to have a little bit of fun and let you all know both of our all-time top ten films. The (For Now) being because some of these might not stay on our lists forever - but chances are most of them will. If you've listened to the show some may be blatantly obvious. However, maybe there will be some surprises also. As usual we start by talking about what we've been watching including a brand new HALLOWEEN movie in 2018, Josh breaking the shrink wrap on a bunch of his Arrow and Scream Factory purchases, a ragtag group of baseball kids, a curse laden rant about a film starring the 80's "Brat Pack" and much more! Thanks for listening! Be sure to head to iTunes to subscribe, rate and review the show. If you like what you hear - tell a friend and spread the word - every little bit helps!
