Marvel redefined the post-credit scenes when Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) told Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) about the Avengers Initiative. Since the post or mid-credit scenes have served to build excitement for upcoming projects. But what if those projects... never happen? Born To Watch - A Movie Podcast

Iron Man is the first Marvel film that we have given the Born to Watch treatment and it's only fitting that we leave "Dan" out of the mix. The movie that started it all, "We are Born to Watch".Released in 2008, "Iron Man" marked the birth of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and ushered in a new era of superhero films. Directed by Jon Favreau and starring Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, the film tells the story of a charismatic billionaire industrialist turned unlikely hero. With its gripping narrative, remarkable performances, and groundbreaking visual effects, "Iron Man" not only set the stage for an interconnected superhero universe but also became a timeless classic in its own right.Unlike other superhero films that often focus on individuals obtaining their powers through external sources, "Iron Man" takes a different approach. Tony Stark, an arrogant and brilliant engineer, finds himself in a life-altering situation when he is captured by terrorists while showcasing his latest weaponry. Forced to confront the destructive consequences of his own creations, Stark embarks on a personal journey of redemption and transformation. This unconventional origin story offers a refreshing and relatable perspective on heroism. The success of "Iron Man" can largely be attributed to Robert Downey Jr.'s stellar portrayal of Tony Stark. Downey Jr. perfectly embodies the wit, charisma, and vulnerability of the character, making Tony Stark one of the most beloved and iconic superheroes in cinematic history. His charisma and natural charm bring an endearing quality to Stark, making the audience root for his redemption and hero's journey."Iron Man" benefits from a strong supporting cast that complements Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark. Gwyneth Paltrow shines as Pepper Potts, Stark's dedicated and efficient assistant, adding a layer of emotional depth to the film. Additionally, Jeff Bridges delivers a compelling performance as Obadiah Stane, Stark's mentor and business partner, whose motives and actions create a formidable adversary for Iron Man. The chemistry among the cast members elevates the film's emotional resonance and adds complexity to the narrative."Iron Man" revolutionised the way superhero suits were portrayed on screen. The seamless integration of CGI and practical effects brings the Mark I, Mark II, and Mark III Iron Man suits to life in spectacular fashion. Audiences were mesmerized by the sleek design and fluid movements of the armour, setting a new standard for superhero costumes in future films. The film's stunning action sequences, particularly the breathtaking flight scenes, left audiences in awe and laid the groundwork for the awe-inspiring spectacles that have since become a hallmark of the MCU.At its core, "Iron Man" delves into themes of responsibility, accountability, and redemption. Tony Stark's journey from a reckless arms dealer to a selfless hero is a powerful exploration of the transformative power of personal growth. The film emphasizes the importance of using one's wealth and abilities for the greater good and taking responsibility for the consequences of one's actions. These themes resonate strongly with audiences and give the film a deeper emotional impact."Iron Man" is the cornerstone of the MCU, setting the stage for a series of interconnected films that would follow. The film's post-credits scene, featuring Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, teasing the "Avengers Initiative," left fans buzzing with excitement about the possibilities of a shared superhero universe. This innovative approach to storytelling fundamentally changed the landscape of cinematic franchises, leading to the unprecedented success of the MCU and influencing the entire film industry.Over a decade since its release, "Iron Man" continues to hold a special place in the hearts of fans and film enthusiasts alike. The film's enduring legacy has inspired multiple sequels, spin-offs, and merchandise, solidifying Iron Man's position as an integral part of pop culture. Even after the conclusion of the Infinity Saga, the impact of "Iron Man" remains a fundamental aspect of the MCU's identity."Iron Man" is a groundbreaking film that not only launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe but also redefined the superhero genre for a new generation of audiences. With its compelling narrative, brilliant performances, and groundbreaking visual effects, the film continues to stand the test of time as a cinematic masterpiece. Robert Downey Jr.'s iconic portrayal of Tony Stark, coupled with the film's exploration of redemption and responsibility, ensures that "Iron Man" will forever hold a significant place in the annals of cinematic history. Please follow the Podcast and join our community at https://linktr.ee/borntowatchpodcast If you are looking to start a podcast and want a host or get guests to pipe in remotely, look no further than Riverside.fmClick the link below https://riverside.fm/?utm_campaign=campaign_1&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_source=rewardful&via=matthew

Minute Ninety One: From Fury Pitching the Avengers Initiative to Tony Starting to Walk OutLachlan Thiele from the Quiet on Set podcast joins us in this episode! In the ninety-first minute of The Avengers...Fury continues his pitch to Steve and Tony, and really seems to have singled Tony out for this particular minute. Coulson's cards were really the extent of his pitch for Steve, after all. So how well does it work? What we do get here in this minute is a great example of shot construction to help tell the story. First, we get the second longest shot in the film as the camera trucks around the table, keeping Tony in the foreground as Fury walks around the backside of it to land at the chair between Tony and Steve. It's a great moment that keeps us focused on Robert Downey Jr.'s performance the entire time. After a few other shots, we get a great shot of Tony as he stands. It's a low shot that tilts up to keep him in frame, pushing Fury out of frame entirely. Again, another great way to cinematically tell the story without the characters having to speak.Fury comes near the end of his monologue and Tony walks out. How did Tony react to the pitch? How about Steve? We'll find out soon enough. Minute Ninety: From An Unconscious Clint Being Dragged Away to Fury Starting to Come Clean About Phase 2.Lachlan Thiele from the Quiet on Set podcast joins us in this episode! In the ninetieth minute of The Avengers...Aside from Clint getting dragged away to the infirmary, this minute is the start of Fury's pitch to Tony and Steve for the Avengers Initiative. But why isn't Natasha here? Is it designed strictly as a pitch to the two team leaders who aren't quite bought in yet? It just hits us as odd that Natasha's not here. As for Maria, she's here but relegated to lingering in the background. It's unfortunate. But Fury makes a great pitch and even tosses Coulson's bloody cards onto the table. As for his methodologies to get them bloody? We're not so sure we want to know. But would they increase in value now? The pitch with the trading cards seems very deliberately targeted at Steve. Why is it Fury's comment about losing his one good eye that seems to perk Tony up? It's a great start to a heavy moment at the bottom of act two, and it makes for a great conversation. --Story-- (A HUGE thanks to Ahsoka-2Sabers for writing the story for this video! Check her out on Wattpad: https://www.wattpad.com/user/Ahsoka-2Sabers) The safe house is cold and dark, but at least you're out of the rain. Agent Barton shuts the door softly behind him while Agent Romanoff immediately starts building a fire. You drop Barton's jacket, which he had loaned you to fend off the rain, onto a chair. You sink into the couch, your sore and exhausted muscles groaning with relief. It had been a fight to get out of the lab. You were not trained for field combat, but thankfully agents Barton and Romanoff were the best of the best. Once you all got out, Agent Phil Coulson ordered you to lay low in a safe house. When you graduated from the S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy as a scientist, you never thought you would make enemies along the way. That was for the field agents like Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff. Now some psycho who is... not human is after you for information only you possess. Director Fury assigned STRIKE Team: Delta to protect you until the threat is neutralized, but even they were not enough for this monster's wrath. So many agents and fellow scientists were killed trying to get to you. Too many. You push aside the memory of your coworker's bodies and focus on the heavy footsteps of Barton's boots. At last, Romanoff got a fire going. Its warmth seeps into your skin and slows your shivering. As you start to relax, the heat makes you drowsy. You stretch across the couch, tuck a throw pillow beneath your head, and close your eyes. You hear Barton in the kitchen brewing coffee for himself and Natasha. He sighs, sounding tired and defeated. You always wanted to meet STRIKE Team: Delta. Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff were living S.H.I.E.L.D. legends. Rumor has it, they-despite having no superpowers-were potential candidates for the Avengers Initiative. You never thought you would ever work with them, let alone be under their protection. You almost jump as cold yet gentle fingers brush against your shoulder as someone-Romanoff- drapes a warm, scratchy blanket over you. You can't hear her movements until the sharp scrape of a knife being sharpened accompanies the rumbling thunder outside. As you lay on the sofa half- asleep, you catch murmured conversation between the two assassins: "Natasha… how many agents-?" "Don't. Don't do that to yourself, Clint. This is monsters and magic, and nothing we were ever trained for." "He got away?" Clint sighs. "Yeah.” You want to tell them it's okay. The deaths of those agents are not their fault. The villain's escape is not their fault. You are alive and safe, therefore they're succeeding in their mission. You want to tell them they are heroes, except you don't think they would appreciate you eavesdropping on their conversation. "He's gonna make his play soon though. Today." "We got to stop him.” "Yeah? Who's 'we'?" "I don't know. Whoever's left." In the late hours of the night-or maybe the early hours of the morning now-your mind and body finally relaxes. Exhausted from the trials of the day before, you slowly succumb to sleep, lulled by the sounds of knife sharpening, your own soft breathing, and the low murmurs of the ones who will stay awake all night to protect you. Superheroes run this Tinseltown, and at this point we take it for granted.  In 2008, when the first Iron Man kicked off the long interconnected Infinity Saga with a post-credits teaser alluding to the Avengers Initiative, it was impossible for audiences to imagine the 22-film patchwork of nested stories that would emerge to form the Marvel Cinematic Universe and solidify the superhero genre as the most dominant storytelling device used today.  But here we are nearly 14 years later – with Thanos now in ashes – and it's hard to imagine our world without these Marvel heroes on the big screen.  Disney and Marvel have conquered Thanos and popular culture, but which MCU film will run the Infinity gauntlet of the Thunderdome to emerge victorious?

Over the course of a week, S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury attempts to recruit heroes for the Avengers Initiative but they are each mysteriously killed: Natasha Romanoff injects Tony Stark with an unexpectedly fatal injection, Clint Barton accidentally shoots and kills Thor before dying in S.H.I.E.L.D. custody, Bruce Banner / Hulk explodes, and Romanoff is attacked and killed while investigating the other murders; before she dies, Romanoff tells Fury that the murders are related to "hope". The Asgardians, led by Loki, arrive on Earth to avenge Thor; Fury proposes an alliance to apprehend the killer. Fury deduces that Hank Pym is the murderer and has been using his shrinking technology to commit the murders as revenge for the death of his daughter, Hope van Dyne, who died in the line of duty as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Fury and Loki defeat Pym, who is taken into Asgardian custody. Loki chooses to stay on Earth, becoming its ruler. Fury begins assembling more heroes, finding Steve Rogers frozen in ice and summoning Carol Danvers to Earth.

Bradley Episode Written by: A.C. Bradley and Matthew Chauncey Episode Directed By: Bryan Andrews One small choice can change the world! Monday. At a doughnut shop in California, S.H.I.E.L.D. Director, Nick Fury, and agent Natasha Romanoff are powerless to prevent the death of Tony Stark. Romanoff is accused of his murder, but slips away from the S.H.I.E.L.D. strike force team led by Brock Rumlow. Tuesday. In Mexico a mysterious hammer has caught the attention of S.H.I.E.L.D. Under the watchful gaze of Clint Barton the hammer's owner, with amazing hair, comes to retrieve his property as Barton fires his arrow into the heart of Thor the God of Thunder. Clint Barton is held under lock and key for his murder. Hours later, despite around the clock supervision, Clint is found dead in his cell. Later that day Loki arrives from Asgard backed up by the warriors Three and an army of Asgardians. He wants to punish the puny planet for the murder of Thor. But convinced that smaller forces are at play, Nick persuades Loki that they should work together to catch their common enemy. We are back on The MCU'S Bleeding Edge Podcast here on Anchor with a outstanding and pretty long episode reviewing Iron Man, starring Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark, with Podcast Of Champions. We are joined for the first time by Alexis, who I met through us both being guests on the Radulich In Broadcasting Network,  a very experienced guest in the podcasting/ live-streaming world, and also our second female MCU fan/ content creator, Yvonne Rempel, host of On The Road To Damascus podcast also on Anchor. We also have Taylor for his second appearance and lastly, also new to the show, The Grandmaster( Remco) both from Podcast Of Champions who we are connecting this Infinity Saga Review Series with, this being part 3. Of course Iron Man started the entire MCU and was the first of what would become over 20 films in what is now called the Infinity Saga. It is a well reviewed film with a excellent secondary cast and some neat cameos of Agent Phil Coulson and of course the famous end credit scene with Nick Fury, where we were first heard the words " Avengers Initiative", something that seemed like a fairly tale at one point until Marvel Studios came out setting the stage right from jump In Iron Man and letting us know essentially we were getting a Avengers solo film. Jon Favreau directs the film and also plays Happy Hogan, security for Tony Stark, in the movie as well. We get excellent performances from Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts and Jeff Bridges as Obadiah Stane. Terrence Howard makes his one appearance as James( War Machine) Rhodes. Its a excellent and classic film and we deliver a excellent show here with wonderful contributions from our guest panel. Moderated by Jeff Sloboda, co-host of The MCU'S Bleeding Edge, we hope you enjoy this episode and wish everyone out there a thanks for supporting our content.  --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/the-mcus-bleeding-edge/message

Marvel's Avengers Video Game Complete Review

Two weeks ago, I gave my "way too early" review of the new Avengers game, but now that I've finished the campaign, I'm back with a complete review! By the way, Yusuf "Abu" Khan is voice by Brian George. Rough Transcript:Now that I’ve completed the campaign for Marvel’s Avengers, as well as quite a few missions for the Avengers Initiative, I feel ready to give a complete review of the game.  My non-spoiler review: the ending is very strong, and the game really opens up. SPOILERS below! ----more----While I was mostly positive in my review for the early stages of the game, I was still a little unsure about some key points, namely the heavy focus on Kamala Khan (aka Ms. Marvel). However, after finishing the campaign, I can say that nearly every concern either went away or turned into a strength. Let’s start out with Kamala. At first, I wasn’t sure how I felt because she wasn’t a character I knew, they focused on her early in the game after teasing us with the “classic” Avengers, and because I think they made her a bit too naïve. All that being said, she has two huge moments in the last half of the campaign that really sold me. The first is when she finds the clue from Monica’s interrogation, then has J.A.R.V.I.S. accidentally call her father, Yusuf. This scene has to work, and it does. First off, Brian George (the voice of Yusuf) gives an incredible performance here with only his voice. He conveys so much emotion on that call (not an easy thing to do when it’s only you talking), and it’s all believable. Then, the other important part is Kamala, a video game character, having to show just as much emotion while only using her animated face. The developers really outdid themselves with this scene, and I basically forgot it was a video game. Sandra Saad, the actress and breakout star who portrays Kamala, also deserves praise for the motion capture work and heartbreaking “love you more” just after the call ends. Kamala’s second big moment comes immediately after, and it’s the speech she gives to the Avengers about how they still inspire people, and that the world still needs them. Usually, I find these types of speeches/moments cheesy, but this felt earned and like it really fit the moment. And, of course, it helps lead to the emotional moment where all of the Avengers (minus Captain America) reunite. That clue that Kamala finds is a lead to finding Steve Rogers (aka Captain America), though they don’t know it yet, and that’s where the entire tone and momentum of the story shift. When Tony finds Cap, his emotion feels very real, and it’s shared by the entire team when he and Cap return to Earth (after a sequence that was incredibly similar to the opening scene of Avengers: Endgame, with Tony being saved from suffocation in space, except this time it’s Thor who saves him instead of Captain Marvel). When Cap is finally back, he takes control and steals the show, much like Chris Evans’ version. He’s a constant source of encouragement, defiance, and resolve. As expected, he makes a couple of signature “Cap speeches” that I would, again, normally find cheesy. However, the Avengers are pretty down on their luck at this point, so the speeches feel relevant, timely, and earned. I have to give it to the team/developers a lot of credit again since I could literally feel the energy and vibe shift when Steve Rogers rejoins the fight, which isn’t something that happens a lot in video games. In terms of big picture stuff, the frame rate drop issues happens quite frequently still. It’s not very often, but just a couple of times of going from frames per second to frames per minute will make you cringe. Story-wise, I think the campaign is just about the right length. It’s not too short that it only feels like a tacked-on tutorial, but it’s nowhere near Red Dead length, for example. Now, I'm not sure if I'm going to go back and play it in like a New Game+ scenario. That's where the Avengers Initiative comes in nicely, which is the post-campaign prologue/online elemental of the game. This is where I actually really have to give credit to Square Enix because there are some games where they’re just clearly a money grab, but this doesn't feel like that. I really like the touch that you can play with CPU characters; you don't have to online matchmake or anything like that, and that's for a couple of reasons. Number one, you don't have to play online with other people if you don't want to, and I'm one that usually tends not to, but it's also good for just the longevity of the game. When the servers stop and you can't matchmake with anyone online anymore, you'll still be able to play the game because they'll just be CPU players. Speaking of that, I am super impressed that the CPU characters feel so real in. They’re decision making is smart and does feel real; pretty much just as good as having a real person there. One other thing I forgot to mention: in my first review, I said that I didn't know how I felt about fighting robots a lot of the time. Playing more, I realized that there's actually more humans than I remembered. By the same token, there's a lot of different types of robots and it's really no different than Batman fighting a ton of the same thugs in like Arkham Knight or something like that. In that game, there are like four or five player models in that one, tops, for the thugs, so that's really no different than robots. The one last thing that I'm not sure how to feel about is that I saw this joke and I can’t unsee it: the character models in this game for the Avengers like Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Steve Rogers, and Natasha Romanoff are basically the stunt double versions of the MCU versions. They're a little bit different, a little bit tweaked… but still. Granted, it's tough because you have to choose: do you want to copy them exactly, or do you want to make it your own? However, it seems like they settled on this weird in-between where they didn't quite know what they wanted to do. It's not distracting or anything, and If I hadn't heard the talk about it at the time of the trailer release, I wouldn't thought anything about it, but now that I heard that and saw that, I can't unsee it. My final thoughts: like I said, it’s a very strong finish to the game. The game opens up a lot because you have more players to choose from, obviously, so you don't have to just play as Kamala or the Hulk. I still can't believe how the game turns around when Steve re-enters the fight, like you can just feel it; it's just incredible for a video game. Definitely go out and buy this one. It's a lot of fun, you can play for hours, there's a lot of post-campaign content, and there's going to be even more with DLC's and stuff like that. So yeah, go out and get this one. It's a good one. This is Marvel's Avengers and I'd say it gets an “A” rating for sure.  This is a review of Marvel's Avengers (2020) from Marvel Entertainment and Square Enix. Clips are used for review purposes, as is Alan Silvestri's "Avengers Theme". Sean answers your Marvel questions!0:51 AdineAny thoughts on similarities between the memory examining technology that the Skrulls used on Carol, to Tony's BARF technology?2:02 AlexSean,  this is the last Q &A before  the Fox deal closes! On to my question, do you think Lance Reddick would make for a good Silver Surfer?  He's a great actor who've adored in shows like the Wire and Lost and I feel he would be a good fit for the Herald Of Galactus.3:02 Xavier ArquerosHello Sean and all the patrons, I was blown away by the last Avengers Endgame trailer. I can't believe we are so close to this movie. I have a theory on what's the first hour or hour and a half of the movie, but I have no clue about what comes next: I think the Avengers assemble with Tony, Nebula and Carol and they go together to find and defeat/kill Thanos, in the battle they succeed but some or almost all of the infinity stones are destroyed. That's when the time elapses comes and we flash forward a few weeks when Natasha finds Clint, when Scott gets out of the Quantum Real, and they get together and start working on a plan to use the Quantum Tunnel to travel Through time. That's all I've got. Clearly Thor and Carol are off Earth with their galaxy business. Do you think this a reasonable way of begin the movie or am I way off? And you have some idea about what enemies or circumstances they would face and what will be Thor and Carol doing off world? I just can't wait for this movie, I need to try and speculate...  Thanks and Cheers everyone!7:34 Xavier ArquerosAh, an other question about the Dr. Doom movie, wouldn't it be could that Von Doom just take control over Sokovia and rename it Latveria? That would be a great connection with Wanda and the avengers, and that way you don't have to make up an other easter european country. Would be cool if he was a brilliant scientist that also went to Kamartaj and learned from the Ancient one, that way you can connect him to Dr. Strange too. But I want this movie, I hope Kevin Feige takes a good look on that Noah script and if it's good bring him on board on the MCU! Thanks again!10:13 Alex WardHey Sean! Hope you had a great week! I just have a couple for this weekend: 1) Do you think Carol is immortal? What is your current theory for how she stayed young through Endgame? 11:38 Alex Ward2) Do you think Carol may have returned to Earth before Endgame, or has she really been in space all this time?12:15 Alex Ward3) Do you think Endgame will adapt any more elements of Infinity Gauntlet, or will it mostly be telling its own story at this point?13:30 AlexSean,  do you mind if I  ask a DC question that relates to Marvel? Captain Marvel has  surpassed Wonder Woman's domestic opening weekend and overall worldwide  opening and it looks like it will be inevitable  that Vers first solo will outgross  Diana's first solo   movie overall so can I ask what's your theory as to why its the case?  Do you think BvS was one of the reasons WW wasn't more successful  and if BvS was a better movie  and well liked by audiences do you think Wonder Woman would've done better numbers?17:26 AdineOn my way to the theater last Thursday for Captain Marvel opening night I was catching up on some day Daily Bugles and the most recent Black Widow news got me thinking... Especially after watching CM, I realize I haven't been too excited for BW, because as a prequel, I didn't imagine that it would advance the greater MCU storyline much. Obviously I was wrong, and I realize now I wasn't expecting the ways in which CM advanced the story either, like with the Tesseract, and “launching” the Avengers Initiative. I'm wondering now, how do you think Black Widow might add to what we know about the MCU timeline? Do you think it's likely to delve back into something like an Infinity Stone connection post Endgame? Or do you think it might plant a seed for next phase of the MCU?19:18 Woo S! KimIf you are betting man and I trust your judgement always have really, after "The Eternals" now that the Disney FOX deal is nearing an official close is an Fantastic Four and or X-Men film to follow "The Eternals" or  do you think Doctor Strange 2, "Shang Chi," and the sequel to "Black Panther come out well before Mutants and Marvel's First Family?21:07 Michael Louis WeaselboyHey Sean thanks for all the episodes lately, I have so much to listen to now lol. Anyways my question is how angry do you think Thanos will be when the Avengers undo The Decimation?? Like say everyone comes back and all is well and there is a final battle, its just Thanos without the Gauntlet, I imagine he wont be happy, and its a chance to see Thanos truly angry. Thoughts??22:10 Woo S! KimThis is just a general question, Sean do you dislike the redesign of the Patreon website it looks so Meh now?23:24 Woo S! KimIf you had 45 minutes to an hour to interview Kevin Feige post Disney/FOX merger what five questions would you ask him? (they don't have to be about The Disney/FOX merger.)26:12 Woo S! KimI try to be, one of those fans that isn't screaming out to the top of my lungs for networks/studios to resurrect TV Shows Sean.  But I really think/want “Agent Carter” to be resurrected on Disney Plus mainly because the show ended on a cliffhanger also being that the show is a period piece one could pick up the show anywhere from where the show ended off in the second season up to the mid to late 1970's unless one wants to show an older Peggy Carter, like we True Believers saw in the prologue of “Ant-Man” what is the likelihood in your mind in let's say two to three years Marvel TV/Marvel Studios could bring back “Agent Carter” on Disney Plus or  on Hulu, thanks Sean.28:25 AlexWhy do you think Marvel is the bigger international brand than DC? Marvel movies especially in China tend to out-gross DC films. Aquaman made a big splash there(pun not intended) but as a whole DC films don't overall don't do good as their Marvel counterparts. Do you think DC can be a strong brand like Marvel is internationally or is it too late?32:23 Paul ShearmanHey Sean and everyone, hope you're all recovering from the MCU explosion of greatness we've had this week!  I've had a quick scroll through the questions here (some crackers, as always folks - good work!) and Captain Marvel and Endgame seem well covered, so a quick question about James Gunn being rehired for GOtG3 if I may. This is excellent news, it shows common sense and some new perspective from Disney, and I'm very happy with this. Kevin Feige has potentially played the long game here, keeping a dignified and professional approach when asked publicly about this, but perhaps working quietly behind the scenes within Disney to champion and secure James Gunn return?  What do you think his role in this return may have been? Thanks for your time in advance, looking forward to listening in to the Q&A and enjoy your weekend.40:06 AlexSean, what are the chances of Feige tweeting  something to the effect of hashtag "Welcome Back Home First Family and Merry Mutants  to confirm he has the rights either on the date of closure or after that day?41:39 Robert KlauserWhat's up fellow patrons and Sean? It's been an awesome week for MCU fans. With Gunn being reinstated, do you think it was for the purpose of just finishing up the Guardians trilogy or will he be around to help with the cosmic aspects of the MCU like what was stated before?43:50 AlexIs James Gunn being rehired to do Guardians Vol. 3 the most shocking  Entertainment news of 2019? Do you think Feige was still vouching for him to direct and played a role in convincing Alan Horn to reverse his decision?45:15 AlexWhen James Gunn returns to direct Guardians Vol. 3 the Fox-Deal will have long since been  complete and Gunn will have access to all  Mutant and Fantastic Four related  characters so do you think  he'll be open to tweaking   his initial script in order to include those characters whether it be Silver Surfer or Galactus if it fits his overall story or do you think Gunn will stick to his guns(bad pun intended) and adhere mostly to his original story that he would've done if the Fox-deal never happened?47:13 Danyon RamsayAnother of my favourite content creators, Mr Sunday Movies, mentioned in his video about the new trailer that he had heard a rumour (and he emphasises that it was only a rumour) that the Russos had only made 8 mins of footage of Avengers Endgame available for the trailer. Do you think that this is likely to be true, and, if so, is this sort of control over marketing common for directors to have?49:24 Woo S! KimIn your point of view, Sean do you believe because of James Gunn's future with Marvel Studios having ended at the time production wrapped on "Avengers: End Game," do you think there will be story issues concerning The Guardians of The Galaxy now that James Gunn has been rehired?  Or do you think Markus, Mcfeely, The Russos, and Feige had the story for "Infinity War" and "End Game" on lock before all this nonsense occurred with James Gunn so the story of "End Game" wouldn't have been effected at all no matter James Gunn status with Marvel Studios?51:29 AlexSean, what's your thoughts about Fox executuives saying the Disney/Fox merger is hurting the Dark Phoenix film and what do you specifically think about this quote specifically from a frustrated marketing executive for Dark Phoenix: "Nobody has come around and said, 'This is what's going on.' Why can't they just tell us that there is no place for us? Why can't they let anyone know?" "We are not leaving because we didn't make money for the company or we did a bad job. We are leaving because of pure capitalism." See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

I've been MIA recently from these Q&A's, but I've been listening in and enjoying the conversations (and Sean's answers of course!) here and on the Discord. Whilst I've not been joining in much lately, this great community has kept me going over some difficult recent weeks, so a big thank you to you all!So, Captain Marvel huh...?  Wow, I just love this film so much - I've seen it twice in 24 hours thanks to some careful scheduling and it's just perfect. Brie Larson is just exceptional as Carol Danvers, I feel she embodies the character from the comics so well, whilst bringing her own qualities to the role. From the Stan Lee tribute at the start (very emotional and wonderfully inventive) this movie never missed a beat throughout.Whilst I know it's still very early to be making lots of judgements on various aspects of the movie, I'm keen to know if there was any stand out scene for you Sean, that you either never saw coming or was just a particular highlight? Thanks as always for your time, and hope everyone gets to go higher further faster with this awesome movie!13:27 brentacPrimeCaptain Marvel spoiler question. What was the biggest surprise for you?15:18 Robert KlauserWhat's up Sean? Do you think that there's a setup for Carol similar to Scarlett Witch? We see that Mar Vel was in possession of the tesseract and I believe she used that to make her FTL ship and that's where Carol got her powers from when she shot that energy core. So the setup would be that Carol Danvers can somehow destroy the space stone because her powers might have the same signature as the space stone. Do you think that this is theory is something they could allude to in Endgame or is this more of a “been there don't that” with Wanda and the Mind Stone?18:31 Matt OswaldWe know that SHIELD was in possession of the Tesseract after Howard Stark recovered it, and Loki stole it from a Project Pegasus facility in the Avengers. It is obvious that Fury did not know the real Identity of Lawson even though he at least knew of the existence of Pegasus. Do you think any of the top brass at SHIELD knew her real identity?19:46 Matt OswaldOne of the things that has bothered me a little about Captain Marvel is the apparent lack of security around the Tesseract at Project Pegasus. We know at the start of the Avengers that there are SHIELD agents like Hawkeye assigned to guard the Tesseract. Apparently during the 90's security was a little more lax around the project since Lawson was able to take the tesseract out of the facility, and to her Kree space ship/lab. It seems like somone should have noticed that the Tesseract was missing from the facility. One might be able to reason that after the crash, it was believed that the Tesseract was destroyed in the crash. But we don't see any evidence in the film that before the crash anyone even noticed it was gone. Am I reading too much into this?22:51 Mookie JohnsonDo you feel the way that Captain Marvel ended reduces the chances the secret invasion is a pursued storyline?25:13 Woo S! KimWho between these two characters Agent Peggy Carter and Agent Phil Coulson are you more surprised by their popularity and how they are really embedded in the MCU and why?  My vote is for Phil Coulson do you have any other characters like Coulson or Peggy Carter that when they originally appeared in the MCU you are surprised how narratively and how long they have managed to stay integral parts of the MCU and or fan favourites? 28:42 Woo S! KimI am not stating this character is needed in the X-Men/Avengers going forward Sean,  but what do you think the chances because the heroes will be messing with time in “Avengers: End Game” of Aaron Taylor Johnson's QuickSilver to return after the events of “Avengers: End Game?”  Should he brought back or would you rather keep that character dead?29:56 Woo S! KimSean, let's say for argument sake that “Spider-Man: Far From Home” moved to February 2020 “Avengers: End Game” moved to Christmas 2019 and Star Wars: Episode IX took the late April 2019 spot would Box Office numbers change at all, if this were done why or why not?31:05 Mookie JohnsonDo you think Captain Marvel 2 has room for Ms Marvel and Photon to join in?32:48 Mookie JohnsonI love how Captain Marvel's movie was also is some way a Nick Fury/Modern  Day Shield/Avengers initiative story also. Could you share some of your thoughts on that idea?35:53 AlexDo you think the Fox deal that will grant Marvel access to so many more  characters could lessen Marvel's willingness to cooperate with Sony past Far From Home especially if Sony starts mandating that they start integrating SMCU characters like Venom and Morbius? 37:25 David RosenHey Sean, I know you were really looking forward to seeing how they treated the Kree Supreme Intelligence. Even though we didn't get the giant floating head, are you satisfied with what we did get?39:50 Tom DeMicheleSince all of SHIELD's information was leaked in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, does the world know about Captain Marvel? Fury may not have divulged what happened in the film's final act, but there were plenty of other witnesses early on.By the way, this is an exciting time for the Discord, and I encourage all Patrons to join the fun conversation over there with us!43:01 Robert KlauserNot a serious question or anything like that. But, can't we let Thor and the Asgardians off of the hook for the Phase 2 weapons? It seems Fury knew we were “hopelessly and hilariously outgunned” since 1995.44:35 Xavier ArquerosI liked the movie, not as much as I hoped (which was a lot), but it's good. I have a lot of questions, but the only one that concerns me is when will the sequel take place, because it's seems that Yon-Rogg and Ronan have an agenda against Carol but I'm not the biggest fan on an other MCU movie set in the past, I hope Captain Marvel 2 is set post-Endgame. What do you think Sean? I would watch it nevertheless, but you know, Let's move forward. Cheers!48:40 AlexSean, I know that you had Bill Hader as one of your top castings for Reed Richards but I unfortunately I just don't see it. He looks the part sure, but nothing I've seen of Bill Hader so far has left me with the impression he'd make a good Reed. He just strikes me as too comedic an actor to play a serious role like Reed Richards who isn't normally intentionally funny so may I ask what movies or shows that you've seen Mr. Hader in that makes you think he'd be a fit for the role?49:42 Hector Giovanni NavarreteHey Sean! I enjoyed CM! Thought it was great!I have a couple of questions about Goose the cat. I know they probably aren't big deals in the grand scheme of things in the MCU but they are questions I came up with nonetheless lol.So we first see Goose at the Pegasus facility and it seems like she/he knows Carol cause it walks up to her first as if recognizing Carol. So do you think it used to be Carol's pet and if so how did Carol come to have an alien as a pet? Or do you believe it was Mar-Vell's pet since she was Kree so most likely Mar-Vell would've potentially brought an alien pet from space ?So at the end of CM, Fury seems to keep Goose, so where has Goose been all this time in the present day MCU? Still with Fury?52:06 Alex WardHey Sean! First of all, thank you for doing these q and A's. They've answered so many lingering questions about the MCU for me and deepened my interest in Marvel to an insane degree. That being said, you might remember my question a while ago about what the Avengers are "avenging." You had an awesome answer, but thanks to that little discussion, the final scene in Captain Marvel impacted me on a much deeper level; it gave me goosebumps just as I'm sure it did a lot of fans. My question is, if Fury came up with the Avengers Initiative in 1995, did it really take him over ten years to find his first Avenger? Do you think there were any hiccups before Iron Man, perhaps that we'll see filled in in the Black Widow movie or something? Thanks Sean!55:09 Alex WardHow did you feel about the way the Skrulls were handled? I know the Skrulls and the Kree can be good and bad in the comics, but I love this new dynamic.55:46 Alex WardOne non Captain Marvel question--how would you age the new generation of the MCU? For example, should the FF skew younger like the Ultimate comics so they can stick around longer, or should they be older? Also, how old is too old for Reed? He's gotta hang on to those greying temples; it'd be blasphemy if he'd ever go full silver fox like how Mark Ruffalo seems to be heading.58:07 Alex WardI know folks have been throwing around the idea of the FF being a period piece, but what do you think about the idea of the FF being from the modern era, but accidentally getting stuck in the 60s and getting famous there (maybe by introducing "advanced" modern technology), before traveling back to modern day?59:40 Michael Louis WeaselboyHey Sean how was your week?? Anyways I saw Captain Marvel of course, opening night I loved it. You were right that really is the best crowd to watch an MCU film, I saw it in the big IMAX theater in Tempe, Arizona and that crowd was so ecstatic, I can't wait to watch Endgame there next month, the crowd went crazy during the Marvel Studios logo at the beginning and a loud clap when it said "Thank you Stan". Anyways my question is when do you think a sequel will be set?? Could it be with the 23 years she was off earth? or should it be set after in the post endgame MCU?? Who do you think could be the villain? Thoughts??1:02:46 Mookie JohnsonDo you have a Captain Marvel costume preference between the red/blue towards the end of the movie and the post-credit outfit? So, we looked back at the 2012 film to see how it has aged, as well as to prepare for Infinity War. Also, we get an excuse to highlight how good Captain America has always been in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We also begin our weekly check-in with Westworld as the second season has begun. Chris saw the Netflix documentary Mercury 13, and Dylan went out of his way to report back on Super Troopers 2. Also, why would Netflix buy a movie theater? Go buy Paddington 2. It’s on Blu-ray now! In which our heroes look out their windows, see a whole lot of super heroics occurring, but struggle to make out terribly much as we ask what does the general public know about the Avengers? We confuse Thor with a Buff Nan, spend most of the time hiding under things, and lose count of how many Iron Men there are. James wants to move to the country, Duscher recalls the day the Hulks came, Zammit intends to give his children powers at whatever the cost, and Jackson just tries to describe the events of Avengers to the rest of the gang as they hide under a car. So prepare yourself for another confusing super hero event, do your best to make out whats going on amidst the colour and light, and then call your insurance company about the Hulk.
