Yasushi SUKO is a doctoral student at the Faculty of Social Sciences/Psychology, Tampere University, Finland. He studies the effects of nature experience on people, especially the restorative effect of repeatedly listening to natural sounds (e.g., birdsong, the sound of a running river, etc.). He is currently a member of the EnviWell Research Group, directed by Professor Kalevi Korpela. In this episode we deep-dive into the acoustic stimuli and elaborate on the various potentials listening to specific sounds can have for health promotion, restoration and wellbeing. The roles of nature sounds are discussed and practical applications both for clinical and non-clinical contexts are investigated. Time Stamps and Related References/Projects: PART II: 04:40 Y. In this insightful episode of our podcast, we delve into a controversial and highly relevant topic in the realm of prostate cancer – the classification and implications of Gleason 6 prostate cancer. Our guest, Dr. Scott Egner, a renowned co-director of the U Chicago Medicine High Risk and Advanced Prostate Cancer Clinic Program, brings his extensive research and expertise to the table. With over 250 publications, Dr. Egner has been a leading voice in questioning the traditional labeling of Gleason 6 as cancer, given its non-life-threatening nature and distinct pathological appearance. This episode offers a deep dive into the reasons behind Dr. Egner's argument for not classifying Gleason 6 as cancer, contrasting his views with those of Dr. Adam Kiebel, who advocates for its recognition as cancer. We explore how the term 'cancer' carries significant emotional and psychological weight, often leading to anxiety, depression, and instability among patients. Join us for a compelling discussion with Dr. Scott Egner from the University of Chicago as we navigate the complexities of prostate cancer classification and its impact on patient care and perception. This episode promises to be a thought-provoking exploration of a topic that affects many yet needs to be discussed with depth and clarity.___________Dr. Eggener's website - https://www.uchicagomedicine.org/find-a-physician/physician/scott-eggener___________Thank you to our sponsors. This episode is brought to you by AG1 (Athletic Greens).

Have you ever thought about getting your own beehive? In this weeks episode I chat to Kerrie Egner who started out with a few hives in Sydney and now has over 100. * Dronningen er død. Leve kongen. Etterlyser overgangsordninger for unge lovbrytere.

Today's episode is all about self-care. Our guest today, Jasmin Egner, describes self-care best in this episode when she says it's “a hell of a lot more than a bubble bath.” Self-care is about understanding what you need and want, and communicating those things through your words and actions so you can reclaim your personal power. From ditching perfectionism to feeling truly empowered, the self-care practices we discuss in this episode will have powerful ripple effects across all aspects of your life. Jasmin Egner is an empoweredly autistic, laser focused Life Coach with a background in the performing arts. She is also Co-Founder of Cordial Fox Limited - an ethical and inclusive Coaching and Consultancy company in the UK. Jasmin works internationally with Changemakers who are ready to ditch self-abandonment in the name of a cause, because she believes that we can achieve more good in the world when we know how to prioritise our own needs. Connect with Jasmin: Website - https://cordialfox.com/coaching/ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/jasmin_egner/ Some key takeaways about self-care from this episode are: A huge part of self-care is giving yourself agency to make your own decisions and change your mind anytime something doesn't feel right. Don't stay on a path that doesn't align with your authentic self anymore. When you feel uncertain, take the time to pause. Pausing is so crucial for self-care. Reflect, ask yourself why you're feeling this way. Then you can make your decision. Don't mistake kindness as just being nice. Kindness is about doing the right thing, being considerate of others, and being the most authentic version of yourself. Kindness is not about always doing what other people want you to do. A lot of what we know about boundaries and being able to make our own decisions about our lives is learned from the environment we were raised in. It's so important to break these cycles and question the meaning we assigned to what we observed growing up. Welcome to the Wake Up Call Podcast with Alicia Hopkins (that's me!). I work in corporate sales by day and am a personal development guru and Life Coach by night. My goal in this podcast is to share valuable and actionable tips on what I call the “Core Four” - mindfulness, movement, habits, and growth - so you can build a life that feels true to you. I will be interviewing people who have had a “wake up call” that their good-on-paper life wasn't lighting them up, and what they did to change that.
