Die Elbe-, Weser-, Nidda- oder auch Neckarstraße ziehen durch das Frankfurter Bahnhofsviertel und die meisten Bewohner*innen der Stadt verbinden diese Straßennamen mit Drogenkonsumment*innen die hier über den Asphalt treiben. Über die Stadtgrenzen hinaus ist dieser Ruf bekannt und so werden jedes Jahr immer wieder neuen Menschen von dem Rausch mitgerissen und verbleiben zum Teil über Jahre im Abhängigkeitssog von Opiaten, Benzodiazepinen und weiteren chemischen Drogen. In den Straßen, die nach Flüssen benannt wurden herrscht eine raue Brise, die von vielen lieber gemieden wird. Die Stigmatisierung von an Suchterkrankungen leidenden Menschen ist omnipräsent und so wirken die Konsumräume im Bahnhofsviertel wie sichere Häfen. Worum es heute geht? Eine weitere Folge über Suchterkrankungen, Suchterkrankte und der doch mittlerweile sich drehende Wind der Politik, der sich den Kavenzmännern Entstigmatisierung und Prävention annehmen will. Oder? Together we explore healing, exorcism, sacred names, vowel incantations, and the ways ordinary people sought help, hope, and power in the world of early Christianity.  Dr. David Frankfurter is the William Goodwin Aurelio Chair of the Appreciation of Scripture at Boston University and one of the world's leading scholars of ancient Mediterranean religions. His research focuses on Jewish and Christian apocalyptic literature, ancient magical texts, popular religion, and religious life in Roman and late antique Egypt. Particularly known for his work on the relationship between religion, magic, violence, and cultural change, Frankfurter has helped reshape scholarly understanding of how ordinary people practiced religion in the ancient world.  He is the author of numerous influential books, including Religion in Roman Egypt, Evil Incarnate, and Christianizing Egypt, as well as editor of the landmark Guide to the Study of Ancient Magic. His award-winning scholarship has been recognized by both the American Academy of Religion and the American Society of Church History.

Borussia Dortmund hat es durch die Niederlage gegen Borussia Mönchengladbach verpasst, die Vizemeisterschaft vorzeitig klarzumachen. Im Kampf um den Klassenerhalt sind dagegen einige Entscheidungen gefallen: Der 1. Wir hatten alle große Erwartungen an das Topspiel zwischen dem FC Bayern München und Borussia Dortmund. Die Bayern haben gewonnen, aber das Spiel hatte viele Themen, über die Anne Hilt und Luise Kropff in dieser Folge sprechen. Außerdem geht es auch um die anderen Partien des 7. Spieltags, ein glückliches Trainerhändchen in Freiburg, eine wackelnde Defensive der Frankfurter, die vierte Niederlage für St. Pauli – und das waren nur die Sonntagsspiele! Insgesamt hat der Spieltag nach der Länderspielpause vor allem Tore geliefert. Die meisten gab es in der Partie zwischen Mainz und Leverkusen, bei der aber auch mindestens eine Elfmeterentscheidung im Zentrum stand. Emotional wurde es in Leipzig beim Abschied von Yussuf Poulsen, der mit seinem HSV keine Punkte mitnehmen konnte. In Köln macht Said El Mala da weiter, wo er vor der Länderspielpause in der Liga aufgehört hat und sichert seinen Kölnern einen Punkt gegen Augsburg. Eine Punkteteilung gabs auch bei Heidenheim gegen Bremen. Wolfsburg hätte sich wahrscheinlich auch über einen Punkt gefreut, hat nach dem 0:3 gegen den VfB aber eher eine Trainerdiskussion. Die läuft auch in Gladbach weiter nach der Niederlage in Berlin. In der 2. Bundesliga hat der VfL Bochum gezeigt, was ein Trainerwechsel bringen kann. The Netherlands tried something similar, using AI to spot fraud in childcare benefits, and it ended in a national scandal—the algorithm disproportionately targeted minority families, human reviewers failed to intervene, and the fallout brought down the government.A recent Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) report suggests the IRS could “leverage examination results” to improve case selection algorithms. But this raises red flags. IRS audit history isn't neutral. A 2023 joint study by Stanford and the Treasury Department found that Black taxpayers were audited up to 4.7 times more than others, especially when claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit. That disparity likely came from algorithmic choices aimed at efficiency, not fairness.If the IRS trains AI on this unfiltered historical data, it risks cementing and expanding past biases into future audits. AI could be a powerful tool—but only if accompanied by key safeguards. First, training data must be rigorously reviewed to eliminate bias. Second, model decisions must be transparent so we understand how and why certain cases are flagged.
