¡Y de X-Men 97! Completito, completito....
TCW Podcast Episode 210 - Accolade Part 2 In our second look at Accolade, we cover the company's gradual decline in the 90's leading to its acquisition by Infogrames. The desire to expand into console games grew too strong, and Accolade decided to save money on production costs by clean-room engineering the lockout mechanism on the SEGA Genesis. Meanwhile, SEGA was working on an internal revision that would tie their trademarked logo into the startup handshake. This would give them the leverage they needed to sue anyone who reverse-engineered the system. Accolade managed to get the injunction on their games dissolved, but SEGA still retained the option to sue them. Ultimately, Accolade was forced to settle with SEGA to release their games, which left them with ongoing debt that would continue to haunt them. Accolade continued to struggle to grow their franchises. They had the disastrous release of Bubsy 3D, coinciding with the launch of classics like Mario 64, Tomb Raider, and Crash Bandicoot. In the end, Infogrames acquired Accolade, largely due to its distribution network. However, this acquisition was soon overshadowed by Infogrames' later purchase of GT Interactive. What little was left of Accolade was merged into Infogrames Inc. Show Notes On this week's podcast, Dan and Kris climb aboard the SAG Cartoon Express to discuss another classic Sonic the Hedgehog episode, but not THAT Sonic the Hedgehog show. The OTHER Sonic show that was airing at the same time, which was just called Sonic the Hedgehog. Not confusing at all! Anyway, the episode was called No Brainer, and it certainly was an episode of a TV show. But was it better than The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog? How did Sonic survive after eating a chili dog from a vending machine in a sewer? Who put that vending machine there in the first place? We may never know. At the top of the show, Kris explains why he was sick for most of the week, and why he wound up freezing cold, watching The Flash on his phone on the floor of the local mall. Meanwhile, Dan had to drive extreme distances for a combination of hospital visits and specialized chicken finger restaurants. Meanwhile, Cave Story is still excellent, Dadish 3D delivers hot Dadish action in 3 dimensions, Pokemon Scarlet is exactly as janky as everyone said, and more! Finally, in Week Old News, Tomb Raider has been CENSORED by the woke agenda!!! OR HAS IT?!? Sensationalist headlines would have you believe it was a nefarious plot to suck all the joy out of viewing tiny, out of focus JPEGs of a hyper-polygonal Lara Croft, but is there more to the story? Plus, Infogrames is back (and still hard to pronounce), an interview about the Tetris CD-i soundtrack is saved, Nintendo 64 NSO gets a rather bizarre update, and a whole lot more. Enjoy! 03:48 WatchDogs lagt i jorden? 11:54 Infogrames er tilbage! 17:45 Stellar Blade webcomix 24:35 Xbox VR på vej Stellar Blade Webcomix Stellar Blade Official Music Video __________________________________________ Du kan følge Gamer Sofaen på: Facebook Twitter (X) Instagram Discord __________________________________________ Historie #1 - Ubisoft IP aflivet Historie #2 - Atari genopliver studie Historie #3 - Stellar Blade webcomix Historie #4 - Xbox VR

TCW Podcast Episode 203 - Alone In The Dark Despite appearing outdated by today's standards, Alone in the Dark remains a highly influential game in the survival horror genre. Numerous franchises, including Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and Eternal Darkness, either cite or incorporate tropes popularized by Alone in the Dark. Spearheaded by Frédérick Raynal, the game drew inspiration from Giallo films and Alfred Hitchcock's suspenseful works. It pioneered the use of 3D models in a pre-rendered environment with fixed camera angles, a technique later adopted as a staple on the first Sony PlayStation. Despite its significant success, Raynal departed Infogrames due to a lack of recognition, inadequate compensation, and the directive to create a new game with the same engine within a year. Subsequently, he founded his own company, Adeline Software. Content Warning: The movies and genres referenced may not be suitable for some audiences. Bomb Jack released on the Game Boy in the UK in 1992 and Sweden in 1993. Adapted to the handheld by Bit Managers and New Frontier; published by Infogrames. Bomb Jack has had dozens of ports derived from the Tehkan Arcade game from 1984. CPC, Atari ST, Commodore 16, 64, Amiga, PC88, SG1000, ZX Spectrum, and even things like Java ME. Alberto José González is a Spanish video game graphic artist, music composer, designer, and pretty much everything else. Notable games from French publisher Infogrames helped shed light on his early career and eventually helped found Bit Managers and later Abylight. Twitter | YouTube | SoundCloud
The second post-Covid live and on-site recording felt just as great as the first one! Join us as we dive deep into the magical world of Outcast, the 1999 Infogrames video game with a soundtrack written by Lennie Moore. This is interlaced with the absolute banger score of Neon Genesis Evangelion from the 1995 Gainax Japanese television anime program directed by Hideaki Anno which was composed by Shiro Sagisu. This is also the episode that brings you the phrase "to mellow out" which should definitely be used more often. If you want to support us you can always write a comment here which would be highly appreciated. If you're interested in a more relaxed podcast about mostly (city-) building game soundtracks for the PC (think Anno, Settlers, Tycoons from the 90's and onwards) then check out Aufbaumusik. Enjoy this episode and please give us feedback!

In which we play Alone in the Dark (1992), a haunted house horror game that's full of strange joys and scares. Pippin is drawn to the green cosmic horror found through some double doors. David is bitten to death by spiders while quoting Jean-Luc Goddard. These, and other GAMETHINGS. Alone In The Dark was developed and published by Infogrames in 1992.

Support Eurogamer here: https://www.eurogamer.net/subscribe It's a genuine pleasure to introduce one of the most well known faces of the UK games industry to you today, and more than that, someone who's helped bring among the biggest and most beloved game series to our shelves. I'm talking about the likes of The Witcher and Dark Souls - and they don't come much bigger than that. I distinctly remember talking to this person around the launch of The Witcher 1, in fact, back when no one here knew what it was. Then several years later we were in a Scottish castle together at a lavish play test event for The Witcher 3 - an event they had a large hand in organising. They've also had a significant hand in delivering many other games here, from Enslaved: Journey to the West to Ni No Kuni, and from Enter the Matrix to Pac-Man. There's a good chance they've been involved with many of the games you like in the more than two decades they've been promoting and marketing them. Introducing Lee Kirton, once a receptionist at GT Interactive - doubled as a tips-line operator (his idea) - and most recently marketing and communications director at Bandai Namco UK, via Infogrames and Atari along the way. His is a story of hard work and a love for games I didn't realise ran so deep, and of course the many adventures he's had along the way. The wonderful Lee Kirton, who's favourite game of all time is GoldenEye, and favourite movie is True Romance. The conversation also comes at a time of change for him, as he leaves Bandai Namco after more than 20 years, in the pursuit of something new. Learn more about your ad choices. Side Quests is back and this episode's host is podcaster, editor, composer, dancer, choreographer and hero looking adventure, Nicole from Books That Burn. The game they are talking about today is Neverwinter Nights (2002) by BioWare and Infogrames! You can follow their podcast on twitter or listen it here!
We look back at Alone in the Dark, released for MS-DOS in 1992. As part of our discussion, we talk briefly about its developer, Infogrames, and what they're up to these days. We'll talk about the games creator, Frederick Raynal, and about the development of the game itself. We'll share some reviews from the 90s, and some modern takes on the game from gamers. Finally, we'll talk about what has happened to the series since in inception on yet another trip down Memory Card Lane.
Join this channel to get access to perks: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcT8... ****************************************************************************************** Alone in the Dark is a survival horror video game series, originally developed by Infogrames.[1] In most of the games, the player controls private investigator Edward Carnby, who goes to investigate a haunted mansion or town that is full of undead creatures. The series, particularly for its debut game, is widely acknowledged as a grandfather of survival horror and is often credited with the creation of the genre.[2][3][4][5] The original story was based on the writings of H. P. Lovecraft, although later games in the series drew inspiration from other sources including voodoo, the Wild West, and the works of H. R. Giger. Six installments of the series have been created, with various themes and locations. Two comic books and two films were created based upon the games. In September 2018, Atari, Inc. sold the Alone in the Dark franchise to THQ Nordic.[6] ****************************************************************************************** Grab a beer, a slice of pizza and come hang out with us. Si te gusta este proyecto recomiéndalo a tus amigos/as.

Downloadable games come home, CD based systems are on the rise, and The PS2 eats Dreamcast's lunch before either's launch These stories and many more on this month's episode of the Video Game Newsroom Time Machine We look back at the biggest stories in and around the video game industry in May of 1979, 1989, 1999. As always, we'll mostly be using magazine cover dates for the 20 and 30 year jumps, while relying on newspaper articles and historical documents for the 40 year jump, as there weren't many dedicated gaming publications on the market yet. Eure Tanooki Bros. Intro: SVS X - Tanooki Bros. Intro Kakaopausetrack: Chronos 2.1 & Oeb - The Legend of Zandy (prod. by SVS X) Outro: Obelix OST - Holiday (prod. by Alberto Jose Gonzalez)
TCW Podcast Episode 065 - The Rise and Fall of Infogrames Part 2 We go into the mass consolidation that sprung Infogrames into an international powerhouse. It was due to these quick consolidations that led them to have a high value on the stock market. When the tech bubble burst in the early 2000's the stock value plummeted, and Infrogrames was unable to service the massive debt consolidation has built up. This eventually led to the outer of Bruno Bonnell from Infrogrames. We go over the parade of leadership as the company collapses and sheds all the assets that they have. The Secret of Monkey Island" !

Time for episode 18. This time around, we're talking about the grandaddy of 3D survival horror games, 1992's Alone in the Dark. But first, there's lots of news this week! Hero-U, the new game from Quest for Glory's Lori and Corey Cole has successfully funded! They just made it to their 400,000 dollar goal. Congrats! I wasn't quite correct last show when I said Chris Roberts' Star Citizen had funded. It had a day or so left and instead of raising 5 million dollars, they raised 6.5 million! Incredible. A new remake of 1998's Baldur's Gate is already out and ready for purchase. Peter Molyneux has launched a kickstarter to bankroll a new god game in the vein of Populous. I'll be keeping an eye on this one. I also found a new site where you can play an online version of Dune 2. This is a really great port to the web. Finally, if anyone is interested in health, fitness and nutrition, check out this cool new podcast, Fit for Radio! It's awesome. Whew! After all that news, we get to the meat of the show, Infogrames' 1992 game, Alone in the Dark. We take a look at all the usual suspects here and cover a lot of cool info. Buy Alone in the Dark 1, 2 and 3 on Steam: http://www.gog.com/gamecard/alone_in_the_dark Next time I'm doing something a little different. I'll be doing an in-depth review of the new game X-COM: Enemy Unknown. Kind of a look at an old series in a new incarnation. Enjoy! Well, we tried to make the best of a slow news week. Alfred is off promoting the podcast, so the rest of us talk about the games we have been playing and Phil Harrison's big move to Infogrames. So we hope you enjoy this episode of GamerHusbands Radio.
