They seek help from the Scarlet Witch, Wong and others. A variant of Doctor Strange shows up searching for the Book of Vishanti. Doctor Strange is killed and America accidentally creates a portal to our Doctor Strange's universe. While at Christine's wedding, Strange sees a monster attack happening. So he goes and rescues this girl who he remembered from his dream. America explains that the beings are hunting her because she has the power to travel through the multiverse, but is unable to consciously control it. Doctor Strange goes to talk to Wanda about these demons but realizes that she is actually responsible for the attacks. She acquired the Darkhold and is now going full Scarlet Witch. Wanda believes that taking America's powers and traveling through the multiverse will allow her to reunite with Billy and Tommy, the kids she created. When Strange refuses to surrender America, Wanda shows up and starts killing sorcerers. Scared, America accidentally transports the two of them to another Earth. Wanda uses the Darkhold to "dreamwalk", taking control of her Earth-838 counterpart who lives a suburban life with her own Billy and Tommy. Doctor Strange and America are captured by this Earth's Sorcerer Supreme, Karl Mordo, and brought before the Illuminati, to help decide what to do with them. They explain that through reckless use of their universe's Darkhold in an attempt to defeat Thanos, Earth-838's Strange triggered a universe-destroying "incursion". After defeating Thanos, the Illuminati executed their Strange to prevent him from causing more harm. So they're finding it hard to trust our Doctor Strange. Wanda shows up and kills all the Illuminati except Mordo. Doctor Strange helps free America with the help of this Earth's Christine. The three of them go to find the Book of Vishanti, which holds the secret to free them of the Darkhold, but Wanda appears and destroys it. She then takes over America's mind and uses her powers to send Doctor Strange and Christine to a universe wasteland. Our Doctor Strange defeats the destroyed universe's Doctor Strange, who has been corrupted by his Darkhold, and then uses that Darkhold to dreamwalk. With Wong's help, Doctor Strange saves America from Wanda and encourages her to use her abilities. America goes to find Wanda where she sees Wanda's kids crying for their real mom. Realizing she goofed, Wanda gives up and uses her powers to bring down all copies of the Darkhold throughout the multiverse and sacrifices herself in the process. Everyone returns to their own universes except America who stays to train with Doctor Strange who now has a third eye. We then see Doctor Strange be approached by a mystery person who warns that his actions have triggered an incursion that he must help repair and he follows her into that universe. Marvel Studios has found its Scott Summers. Deadline reports that Kit Connor is the pick for Cyclops in the upcoming X-Men reboot, with the decision landing last week between Marvel president Kevin Feige and director Jake Schreier.Frank breaks down why this casting works and what it signals for the next era of the MCU. Connor is in the middle of a serious run right now, coming off Netflix's Heartstopper, Alex Garland's A24 war film Warfare, and the upcoming Elden Ring adaptation. Schreier, meanwhile, is coming straight off Thunderbolts, which earns him a lot of goodwill heading into a franchise this size.The bigger story is the shape of the roster. Also we met the mysterious Master Planner who is purloining any and all things of atomic nature. Aunt May is in the hospital--again. Peter and Betty are about to split up. And Spider-man goes through a gauntlet of goons that leaves him badly battered and bruised! It's three issues of massive mayhem as Spidey races the clock to save his dying aunt from a disease he inflicted upon her. Yeah, the old Parker luck knows no boundaries.    As James so aptly points out at the start of this podcast--"There's a ton of soap opera in these books!" Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, at this point in the series, knew what their fans wanted, and they were not shy in delivering the goods.  All the madness comes to one of the most classic conclusions early in issue #33 when Spider-Man performs one of his most iconic feats that still resonates with Spidey fans to this day! But even at that point, the story is not yet concluded as even more goons stand in Peter's way. And what do you think happens? POW! BAM! WHACK! Spideytriumphs! But with victory also comes defeat. Ron White is a two-time USA Memory Champion, U.S. Navy veteran, and one of the world's foremost memory training experts. Known as the "Brain Athlete," he has dedicated his career to proving that extraordinary memory is not a gift — it's a trainable skill. In 2020, playwrights Crystal Skillman and Fred Van Lente joined me to talk about transforming their acclaimed stage play King Kirby into an ambitious audio drama. The original play explored the life, imagination, and complicated legacy of comics legend Jack Kirby — from the birth of the Marvel Universe to the battles over credit, ownership, and artistic identity that followed him throughout his career.In this conversation, Crystal and Fred discuss the challenge of adapting such a visually explosive story into a purely audio experience. They break down how sound design, voice performance, and narrative structure became tools to recreate Kirby's cosmic imagination for listeners, while still grounding the story in the emotional realities of Jack's life, his partnership and conflicts with Stan Lee, and the larger history of the comics industry.
