The Great Search - Small 2, 3 and 4-Port USB Hub Chips https://www.digikey.com/short/154zf0z3 We recently did a design for a simple 4-port USB hub - but we wanted to also show off some nicer hub chips available! Hub chips are available in 2, 3 and 4 port designs, and can be configured with LEDs, custom USB descriptors, and over-current detection. These could be useful when you have a product with more than one USB-interface chip (say one for native, one for debug USB) so that instead of two confusing USB ports you can have one interface with both devices exposed! Or, if you are designing a board with embedded linux, you can take advantage of the built in hub support to have multiple USB ports. There's also some interesting integrated hub chips like the LAN9513 https://www.digikey.com/short/jfmb83zv which has an Ethernet chip built in. Parents seem to fall into two camps; those who listened attentively to their spouse and kids throughout the year and bought all presents by November 1st and those of us who now blame lack of presents on "supply chain issues." There are those that give physical gifts and and those that give experiences. In Mike's case he was able to give his wife heather both! When he gave her a physical gift of a dehumidifier, he also gave her the experience gift of sheer disappointment. Mike can really sit and spin on this one. Listen as Mike and Heather get into it. But more importantly, it's time alone, together. Y'know, to strategize how to keep those little buggers in place. Some of the most important advances in history have come from a date night. Enfin un iPhone avec port USB-C ?

Choses à Savoir TECH

Play Episode Listen Later Nov 16, 2021 2:27

Participation trophies were originally used as a way to incentivise kids at a key point (when they are young) to want to keep playing that sport rather than quit after one season. However, now the absence of any merit based trophies means none of our kids are really incentivized to win. In some cases we let our kids off the hook if they don't want to show up for team practice. To Pete it's all gone too far. To Mike it hasn't gone far enough and wants all sports canceled. It's a cracker. Enjoy! Support us

All of which were replaced for android devices. Now in their place we have a Sony Z4 10 inch tab, a Sony Z3 tablet compact. The Z5 compact was  chosen as the phone, but replaced with a bargain nextbit robin until the xz1 compact later this month. Both these android tabs look better, feel better and out perform the ipads as well as being waterproof and have expandable storage, both with cellular as well.I cannot recommend these enough. I have since bought more z3 tablets for family who previously had ipad minis. They love them and  find the improved functionality most beneficial.I note they remain on sale from CEX and cone with a 2 year warranty.I would be interested to hear your views especially as the smaller z3 tab is available for around £150.Heres to more great shows, keep them coming. All the best Gareth Sony tablets. Ok but not iPad quality at all.
