In a recent episode of "Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski," psychotherapist and author Shavaun Scott discusses the ongoing investigation into the murder of Sandra Birchmore. The conversation centers on allegations against Matthew Farwell, a former police officer, and the involvement of others, including his brother William Farwell and officer Richard Devine, in potentially grooming and exploiting Birchmore. The allegations suggest a pattern of abuse and cover-up within the police department, raising concerns about systemic corruption and the need for greater accountability. The discussion explores the broader issue of how law enforcement and other powerful institutions often protect their own, which can enable abusive behavior. Scott emphasizes the importance of strict penalties for those who abuse power, particularly when it involves vulnerable individuals like children. The conversation also touches on the challenges faced by whistleblowers and the societal tendency to avoid confrontation, which can perpetuate these issues. Both Tony and Shavaun advocate for more transparency, stricter oversight, and cultural shifts within institutions to ensure such abuses are not tolerated and are promptly addressed. - Matthew Farwell faces allegations of misconduct and abuse in Sandra Birchmore's case. - William Farwell and Richard Devine are also implicated in potential inappropriate behavior and grooming. - The case highlights possible systemic corruption within the Stoughton Police Department. - The conversation criticizes the "protect the blue" culture for enabling cover-ups. - Shavaun Scott calls for stricter penalties and better oversight to prevent abuse of power. - Discussion includes the difficulty whistleblowers face in coming forward within such systems. - Emphasis on the need for cultural change in law enforcement and other powerful institutions to ensure accountability. #SandraBirchmore #MatthewFarwell #WilliamFarwell #RichardDevine #PoliceMisconduct #SystemicCorruption #WhistleblowerChallenges Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? In this episode of Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski, retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer examines the troubling case of Sandra Birchmore and the involvement of several police officers, including Matthew Farwell and allegations against William Farwell and Richard Devine. Coffindaffer questions the lack of investigation into Sandra's death, which was initially ruled a suicide despite significant evidence pointing to foul play. She highlights the disturbing allegations that Sandra was exploited by multiple officers and discusses potential statutory rape charges and a broader cover-up. Coffindaffer expresses confidence that the FBI will uncover more details, suspecting that the failure to properly investigate may stem from incompetence or collusion. She also points out systemic issues in smaller police departments, where a lack of training and familiarity among officers allows misconduct to persist unchecked. The conversation raises concerns about accountability and the need for external oversight to restore public trust in law enforcement. • Allegations of sexual exploitation of Sandra Birchmore by Matthew Farwell, William Farwell, and Richard Devine. • Sandra's death, initially ruled a suicide, shows signs of potential foul play, including evidence overlooked by investigators. • Coffindaffer suspects incompetence or collusion in the handling of the case by authorities. • Concerns about systemic issues in small police departments where untrained officers are appointed based on personal connections. • Calls for an FBI investigation into the involvement of other officers and the medical examiner's role. • Broader concerns about the culture of police misconduct and cover-ups within the region. • Ongoing investigation with potential for more arrests and charges, including federal charges for Matthew Farwell. #SandraBirchmore #MatthewFarwell #PoliceCorruption #WilliamFarwell #RichardDevine #FBIInvestigation #JusticeForSandra Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? My guest is a master of the dark arts. A minimalist with a big sound. A pioneer and a deeply clever chap. He's an audio visual mash man that's got tasty taste. A rare combo! Some may be aware of the music master mind that is William Fields but to those of you that don't know him he's very much needing to be on your radar. I got into a small side road ramble whilst in conversation with Richard Devine on EP 57 and we were talking about limitations in eurorack for sequencing and how he wanted to get into using a computer with algorithmic composition tools to vastly expand the possibilities. I asked him if there was anyone out there making any listenable algorithmic shit and he told me of William Fields and the rest is history. Get over to Williams FieldsOS page on band camp NOW! There's 24 tracks up there that are.. get this. 59 mins long EACH . WTF? https://williamfields.bandcamp.com/album/fieldsos Long form expert explorations of a style. One is called Footwork, another UK Garage and then there's the fantastically bonkers Unconstrained. It's mind boggling stuff and I wanted to know what the hell was going on so ... Stay tuned! Links to William's latest releases, both from January: https://kaer-uiks.bandcamp.com/album/imperfekt https://shop.conditional.club/album/shackamaxon… _____ Music for this episode comes from: Luke Bace ~aka~ LakeCube ---------------- SoundCloud BandCamp Spotify __________ Shout outs! In this time of streaming I wanted to give a shout out to Divkid for keep everyone informed about goings on with the streams. https://divkidvideo.com What did I watch so far? Colin Benders (great modular techno) Kieran Hebden who did a fantastic Boiler room streamed set and raised $10,365 for the Global Food Banking Network https://www.foodbanking.org Here's that set: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXQi77eOdEY Andrew Huang put together his march earnings and gave to @DirectRelief for their efforts in the pandemic. He raised $6541.70! I made some new stuff: Grab my companion pack to follow up on the marvelous work of @Hainbach101 Find the samples here : https://jamielidell.bandcamp.com/releases They are Free or donate as you like… I've been so pleasantly surprised by the response. Thanks to all of you for grabbing it! I hope it brings you some funk! It's still very much available. _____ So sad to hear about Bill Withers. It's just one that weighs heavy on me. What a singular talent, what an example of a pure soul. The honesty just shines through in his work. Hit me hard. RIP Bill. I felt inspired to try and make my own humble tribute to the man. I reached out to my friend in hiding, Chancey and he immediately had bass and guitar recorded for the song. I've actually since had my neighbour across the street, Rob Burger add some additional keys There MIGHT well be a special guest making a string arrangement in a month. Fingers crossed. I've been really moved by the speed of response out there to this idea. Everyone's been amazing. Here's the video of the song: https://bit.ly/2Re8Tax _________ Today's nitty is a first for this show. After 134 weeks of making this thing I've gone and made a video for the nitty. A viddy nitty if you will. It's a tear away from the recent sample pack video I made. A few people liked the motor piano clip so I figured I'd try an expanded idea emerging form that little seed. I have been trying to keep productive in my evenings which is when I get to work. I apologize for the slackness getting this show out but I've been trying to get my head around lots of things im no good at! My wife is an incredible visual artist. She's long been a professional photographer so we have lots of good cameras in the house but its definitely HER world. Anyway after the sample pack vid I started the journey on the video making road. VIDEO HERE! https://youtu.be/po7vPCa-t8E First of many hopefully! Thanks for joining me folks. Likes, Camera, nitty!
Is it fair to blame Trump for the supply shortages that our hospitals and healthcare workers are facing during this corona virus outbreak? To answer this question we invited our good friend Richard DeVine who is a 30 year veteran of the healthcare industry including being the SVP of Supply-Chain and Chief Resource Officer of Mount Carmel Healthcare System. So what did we learn from our guest? For one the supply shortage is a systemic issue that goes back to the 1980's and even if we knew 1 year ago about this pandemic, it would have been impossible to ramp up production to not have the shortages that we are experiencing. That being said our guest also said the military has had the inventory the entire time and should have been activated sooner. As always the answer is in The Gray so be sure to check out our latest podcast to make sure you understand why our doctors and nurses are in danger and based on our understanding of the real problems, are able to layout suggestions as to what needs to happen right now as well as what fixes need to be instituted systemically to prevent this from happening again. Instead of being part of the problem and spreading fake news, tune in to the one place you know isn't fake....Gray Matters Radio! Welcome to 64. 128 weeks of the pod :) This time I'm in the company of two fifth of the band local natives. I had the pleasure of sharing the stage with these 5 fine fellows many moons ago, somewhere in Ireland. A bland, underwhelming festival that we both remember as such. We had afternoon slots. It was grey. The food was grey. So the contrast of this mini reunion was stark in the most pleasant ways. Nestled in a secluded sanctuary, up a rambling incline somewhere in sunny LA, I caught up with Ryan and Kelcey. It was on the 11th day of the 11th month of 2019 at 11 am! Triple 11s. The chats took in the nature of extended band existence as we explore what it takes to play the long game. We chat of the mystical album making process in a satisfyingly deep yet jovial fashion and I can see that making music with these guys would be a blast. Their last album was produced by friend of the pod, Shawn Everett. The master of play, the master of effort over convenience. It's a Shawn love fest after a spell and rightfully so. Hope you enjoy this deeply pleasant hour and a bit I got to share with this fine fraction of the wonderful band that is Local Natives! ____________________ Music for this episode comes from far far away. It's songs from an EP called “fishing from an asteroid” by PlaneFace aka Daniel Pliner. Just amazing work. Such a great grasp of the sound and flow. Damn. I was super impressed by this stuff. Here's a link for your listening pleasure: Fishing from an Asteroid by PlaneFace _______________________ Nitty sees me all clustered up. I'm armed with a crazy computer and Spitfire audio string sounds up the wazoo It only seems right to add layers upon layers of notes and scatter them willy nilly into the ether Clouds of ascending strings. Yep samplers to the ready ____________________ Kind sponsorship of this episode comes from 2 badass makers in the synth universe 4 m s. http://4mscompany.com Makers of modular magic like the spherical wavetable navigator, the bonkers topographic delay, the shifting inverting signal mingler and LOADS LOADS more. They've been at it since 1996. Amazing to have them on the show Also amazing are the good folks at 1010 music https://1010music.com Makers of some delightful machines Not least the bitbox that I NEED to get my hands on. When I saw Richard Devine play at the korg booth this year at NAMM 2020, I saw he was using 2 of these bad boys. You know if Richard's using them, it's gotta be sick!

[…working on like 4 albums…]In this edition:A quickie jamOut of hidingA semi-repeat shareOut of hidingIt bears reminding that many of us (if some of you are like me) found music as a place to hide in our more vulnerable years. At 13, 14 I just wanted to disappear into the music, to hide inside a sound cocoon because the world did not feel safe. The world doesn’t feel any safer today, but along the way I had to stop imagining music as a distinct, safe hiding place. Because if you’re doing Music honestly, you’ll find that not only is the big world staring you in the face while you do it, but it’s demanding more honesty and guts out of you than you thought you’d need.Gotta be brave about your choices here in this music world.Speaking of which, check out a very deep wormhole with the sound wizard himself, mr. Richard Devine. On a recent Hanging Out With Audiophiles:“not content with just making LPs, touring and all of that trad life, Richard’s made his own path and now his work represents the high bar for sound design across the board. Whether working for Google, Yamaha or Jaguar Richard is the guy to figure out converting the unknown into the possible. A no to yes convertor. We talk about his toughest sonic challenge, the cutting edge of sound tech in 2019 and where he is heading in terms of his AI aspirations. We chat about the world of sound that lives above 20kHz.Why analog ??? and a lot more. He’s a deep mind and this chat gets pretty specific in terms of tools used and so forth. Richard and I go waaaay back. Yep, we were touring America together back in 2002 and that was the first time I met him. tWas a warp records tour with Mark Bell (RIP), Nightmares on wax, Prefuse 73, Luke Vibert and other nutters! He was the guy fixing everyone's laptops on the bus I recall. We were all busy getting wasted and he was onto something else. That pretty much explains the man. Super generous with his time and pioneering in his goals and accomplishments. Not a follower. Indeed, not content with just making LPs, touring and all of that trad life, Richard's made his own path and now his work represents the high bar for sound design across the board. Ever since Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez unveiled her Green New Deal, politicians and pundits have been either saying it is a communist trojan horse or progressive thinking that will save the planet. In my years as a therapist, whenever you see that big of a spread between people's interpretation of something you know the truth lies somewhere in the middle. With something as complicated as the Green New Deal, we decided that if we were going to take this to The Gray, we needed someone who actually understands history and macro economic theory. So we once again enlist the knowledge of The Professor, Richard DeVine to help us understand the economic feasibility of the Green New Deal and what the effects of a 80% tax rate would be on people making more than 10 million dollars. Since The Professor actually lived through real communism during the 60s, we asked him to weigh in on any fear that he has about The Green New Deal and what he really thinks of the progressive wing of the Democratic party.Joining me in the studio as always is The Armchair QB himself, Bill Reed, to keep me honest and firmly in The Gray. Gray Matters Radio airs every Monday and is exclusively distrubuted through The Reporters Network.

A Mount Carmel Hospital doctor has been making the national news this month but for all of the wrong the reasons. While the motives surrounding how a doctor might over-prescribe Fentanyl has not been discovered, the press has been all over the hospital system, asking how this could happen. Th local and national press have been asking the whodunit type tabloid click bait questions but there are ever bigger questions that nobody is asking and more important, nobody is connecting how what is going on at this hospital is actually just a symptom of a much bigger problem in our healthcare system across this country. If we are truly going to have a debate about healthcare in this country then we need to actually look at what the real problems are and our elected officials have not been honest in explaining that to the public. If they would be honest, then we would all realize that none of their solutions work and that the only purpose of their rhetoric is to distract and divide us so the system stays the same. What are they distracting us from? They are distracting us from the fact that the power that doctors and the medical industrial complex have over healthcare system is one of the main problems with healthcare. It is what makes our healthcare so expensive and why our system is so broken and ironically makes up none of the national debate about what needs to be fixed. This episode kicks off with the Mount Carmel incident because at the core of the problems in our healthcare industry is the power that doctors have over hospitals and how greed plays a central role in their decision making…both the doctor and the hospital. It explains why they are able to get away with so much but also how it drops a huge financial burden on the system…i.e. me, you, tax payers, and our government. While the press releases from hospitals across the country will lay out all of their plans to prevent abuses from happening and those programs might make us feel better but none of these solutions serve anything more than a band-aid for a bullet wound. The press is missing out on the real story and we are going to deliver it for you. To help explore this topic we welcome our regular healthcare correspondent Richard DeVine who served as the Chief Resource Officer and VP of Supply-Chain for the Mount Carmel hospital system as well as a healthcare supply-chain consultant with over 30 years of experience. If anybody will know the power of doctors and how their power affects the healthcare system it will be him.
Just 2 short years ago we had elected our oldest president Donald Trump at the young age of 70 years old, which will put him at 74 when he goes for re-election. Now this is not an article or a show that will try to say Donald Trump is a crazy old guy but I do want this show to be about an honest discussion about age and our presidents. Just the other day Joe Biden declared that he was the most qualified person to be president which would make him 78 years old when he would take office. Lets also discuss how the other expected front runners in 2020 are Bernie Sanders who would be 79, Elizabeth Warren who would be 71, and Hillary Clinton who would be 73.So think about this for a second, most of the major front runners would be well into their 70’s with some being in their 80’s when they got out of office. Now I am not bashing on older people and saying they can’t do the job, but what I am saying is that should we have serious looks at candidates and how their cognitive functioning is at this age? I used to work for a neuro-imaging clinic and we had to assess clients in this age group all the time for what was called pre-frontal lobe dementia. What is Pre-frontal lobe dementia you ask, it is an early onset dementia that typically begins to show symptoms around the age of 65 and attacks the pre-frontal cortex or the thinking and emotional regulation part of our brain. Here is a summary of the major symptoms of this type of dementiaPersonality ChangesPersonality changes that can occur because of frontal lobe dementia include:ImpulsivenessApathy and indifferenceSocially inappropriate behaviorCognitive ProblemsFrontal lobe dementia does not cause memory loss, but it can other cognitive and neurological problems similar to those caused by Alzheimer’s disease or stroke. These symptoms can include:Difficulty with speech and languageInability to concentrateInability to planUsing the wrong object for the wrong task, or at the wrong timeMovement and balance difficultiesWhat is scary about this type of dementia is that many of the patients were brought in by their family, were having significant problems at work, were often leaders of companies, and did not think anything was wrong with them. Because the symptoms were gradual in onset and not overtly present, the companies often had no real way of saying that they were incapacitated and were often left in power to make bad decisions or being taken advantage of by people who knew what was going on.A family business is one thing, imagine what this would look like if it was a president? President Reagan was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s when he left office and only then did stories come out about some problems he was having. Imagine if we had a president with pre-frontal lobe dementia which some people are arguing that President Trump has been demonstrating symptoms of. To help us discuss this issue, we are joined by our good friend Max Miller of The Voice of The Radical Center on Talk 1370 AM and also joined by our own Richard “The Professor” DeVine to be our resident elderly statesman.Gray Matters Radio is a proud member of The Reporters Network family of podcasts & TheReporters.com

Want to start a fight easily with someone…bring up healthcare and watch and see what happens. Two people duking it out over whether we should scrap Obamacare or have a socialized healthcare for all system. All you have to do is turn on the radio or a 24/hr cable news network and you hear the same arguments going on and on forever. They like to make you think that there are only two options and “Their” side is what is right and the other person is either a communist or heartless. But I am here to drop a bomb on you…healthcare in this country is a train wreck because the powers that be want everyone arguing over bullshit so we do not ask the real questions as to why it is this way. Because if we really understood why things are so messed up they would have an angry electorate and many people would lose elections and executives in the Medical Industrial Complex would lose millions.I could make a case based on my experiences as a clinician and as an employee of an insurance company but that would not be enough to really get you to believe what you are going to learn on our show Monday night. The truth is that 90% of the problem of healthcare is on the supply side of healthcare, meaning that the pharmaceutical companies, device manufacturers, hospitals, surgeons, supplies, etc. are the reason why things are so messed up. Funny how you never hear one politician talking about the supply side of healthcare and instead get us to fight with each other over socialized healthcare for all or scraping Obamacare for…well the same system that existed before.I know you don’t believe me yet, but tune in tomorrow night to find out. Joining me in the studio are two special guests who have a combined 50 years in the healthcare industry as executives and consultants for hospitals, healthcare consulting firms, and the medical industrial complex. Richard DeVine (yes he is my father) was a chief resource officer with a multi-state healthcare company as well as a retired supply chain consultant with one of the nations biggest healthcare consulting firm (which cannot be named in an agreement for getting permission to come on the show). Also joining us in The Gray will be Brendan X, a self-described “Cynical Libertarian” with over 20 years of experience in the healthcare consulting industry who only agreed to come on the show and share his insights if we did not disclose his true identity. I wish I was making this up but I was only able to get my father and Brendan to come on the show if I hid the companies they have worked or currently work for. This is the reality of the world that we are living in but these two men have decided to finally come forward to share information that they know will anger you and make you demand our elected officials start to serve us ,the people rather than the profits of huge corporations. Their thoughts are that if Americans understood why the healthcare system was a train wreck, they would be able to call out their politicians for lying or misdirecting them and demand change or will put people in charge that will. Like I have said on my show countless times, the time is over to naively believe that they will change rather it is up to us to be the change agents in this country. This is a show that you will want to forward on to your friends, families, and colleagues so don’t miss out. I know you are busy but if you are only going to give my show one shot, this is the show to listen to.Gray Matters Radio is a proud member of The Reporters Network family of podcasts & TheReporters.com

Vernon and David are joined by guest Richard Devine of Windows Central. Fresh off of E3, the three discuss the new Xbox features, the increasingly gray area of "mobile" computing, Microsoft's apparent midrange Windows Phone strategy, and how Bing video search gets some major kudos from an unlikely source. They weigh in on last week's and this week's polls. Invariably they stoop to discussing the drama surrounding Taylor Swift vs. Apple Music. To pull things back on track, they share the episodes Twitter Tip, and their personal app, music, and podcast picks. Last Episode's Poll What type of mobile gaming do you prefer? This Episode's Poll Are you using the Windows 10 Mobile Technical Preview? Yes, on my daily driver. Yes, on a secondary device. No, I'm waiting for the official release. No, I do not use Windows Phone/Mobile. Tip of the Episode Don't have access to your mobile phone? Microsoft services are available on the web. You can access Microsoft office via Office Online, and all of your online documents on OneDrive.com Guest - Richard Devine Why is Windows Phone doing better in the UK than here in the US? What kinds of people won't be satisfied with the Lumia 640 XL? Which direction are we heading with "Mobile Computing"? Larger, powerful, and more stationary, or lighter, efficient, and ultra portable? News Stephen Elop is leaving Microsoft. E3. Microsoft: Xbox One: Windows 10 core soon (vertical scrolling, not horizontal), Xbox 360 backwards compatibility, more Cortana-esque voice commands, elite controller, streaming to Windows 10 PCs Chat, phone, and video app instead of Skype modern app in Win10? Apple: iOS 9's features: Marketing sounds oddly like a favorite note-taking service we use regularly. T-Swift uses Twitter (and Tumblr) to call out Apple for not paying artists during people's three-month music trial. She wins, Apple loses (or does it?) Google: YouTube Gaming launching soon. Likely a response to Twitch and similar services. Bing Video search is so much better than Google's, that The Verge actually acknowledged it. May not have the stickers that Facebook does, but the benefit is that you will not have to use Facebook. Works well on desktop. “Metro” app needs some work. No real “web” interface yet, like GroupMe, but integration into Outlook.com and Office Online works well, without too many bells and whistles. Guests For this episode, we were honored with contributions by Daniel Rubino and Richard Devine, both of Windows Central fame. The four of us discussed many things Microsoft, but not nearly as much as we would have liked. Daniel and Richard have so much great insight, we could have chatted about Microsoft Mobile for hours. Here are some of the things that we discussed: Overall take-aways from Mobile World Congress Where the Lumia 640 and 640 XL fit into the long-term device plan for Microsoft How the Microsoft Band might be welcomed in the markets outside the US Why a non-tech-enthusiast may want to choose the Band What can be expected from a "Hero" device running Windows 10 for phone, and why it isn't already available Mobile payments on Windows devices, such as PayPal, as they could and should compete with Apple and Android Pay Why Cortana everywhere changes the game What is means to use the Spartan Browser and have Cortana everywhere Despite the Apple TV has dropping in price to $69.99, why Microsoft may not want to dive into owning the living room with a direct competitor Windows Phone app picks JJ: Darklings Vernon: ADP Mobile Solutions Richard: Wallet Pass Daniel: Fedora Reader Xbox Music Picks JJ: Breaking Benjamin Vernon: Led Zeppelin Podcast Picks JJ: Windows Developer Show with Ryan Lowdermilk and Travis Lowdermilk Vernon: The Tekbeard podcast, with Adam Doud, Clifton Thomas, and Ryan St. Andrie Daniel: Joe Rogan Experience, with Joe Rogan Wrap-up We were glad to have had Daniel and Richard share their thoughts and opinions, and we appreciate all that they do to inform Microsoft fans of the ongoing and developing stories that affect us all. This week's interview is with a long-time friend and inspiration - Richard Devine. I've known him since "back in the old days" on Analogue Heaven, and we still have great conversations any time we meet (whether after a gig or during a trade show). We came up under many of the same influences, and were both obsessed with the many kinds of cool hardware that we came across. But one of the things I've noticed with many of the interviews I've seen with Richard is that they focus on his gear and the contents of his studion, but little is written/shown on how he creates his music or how he accomplishes his sound design. And his work is impeccible. Since he was willing to do a podcast conversation, I decided to focus on The Creative Man rather than The Gear, and the result is that we get some insight into Richard's creative process that is really important. Of course, we still talk gear a bit - I mean, we are only human! But hearing about Richard's trek into electronic music (the story about the "4 crates of albums" is awesome) as well as his current process of moving from software to hardware, we get to hear of a dedicated learner and a constant seeker. Super inspiring, and apt to make you reflect on your own approach.
INTERVIEW + TRACKLIST > www.inverted-audio.com/annie-hall Annie Hall is DJ and producer originally from Madrid. She's now based in Windsor, Canada on the border facing the Detroit skyline where she lives and works with her husband Kero, founder of the record label Detroit Underground. With releases on Semántica Records, Minuendo, Miga, Software records, D1 Recordings, Icon of Desire, Micron Audio and Detroit Underground, Annie Hall has become somewhat of a staple for experimental electronic music and icon for women in the electronic music industry. In late 2012 we received a promo of Scan7‘s most recent 12″ ‘Mental Reaction‘ featuring an Annie Hall remix. After watching the accompanying music video, filmed on board The Detroit People Mover, twisting through the desolate Detroit skyline, we jumped at the opportunity to find out more about what's happening at Detroit Underground and to see how both Annie and Kero are evolving the label. Annie's mix was recorded digitally and features tracks from Shigeto, Richard Devine, Jimmy Edgar, Byetone and Otto Von Schirach.
Manifest Podcast 016 - KrasiusBelgian DJ, Krasius has always been a admirer of all things electronic. He started his late night adventures in the middle of the 90's always trying to deepen his musical knowledge. A great fan of Warp, Rephlex, Ninja Tune, Sub Rosa, Hymen, Ant-Zen, Mego, Worm Interface and Skam.Always found playing with his friends vinyls over the years growing up and when he had the chance around 2005 he got turntables of his own and decided to intensify his practice, in no time at all he started to broadcast his own mixes. In 2009 he joined forces with his friends at Maldita Rec and since then has performed at many Maldita parties and festivals in Belgium and elsewhere as well as a festival in Croatia in 2011 to great review. He has also taken part in many radio programs including shows from Belgium, Greece and the U.K andin 2012 he was invited to join the British label "Structural Damage".Krasius likes to mix different styles from electronica music including idm, industrial, drill, breakcore, acid and many more and also likes to realize ambient mixes with 3 or 4 turntables. Mixing music, field recordings, film samples and many other sound sources and using 2 other turntables with Scratch pro to spice his sets with many other ideas.More infos and sounds :http://soundcloud.com/krasiushttp://www.mixcloud.com/Krasius/http://www.structuraldamage.co.uk/krasius/http://reviews.headphonecommute.com/2012/06/25/krasius-headphone-commute-mix/https://www.facebook.com/pages/Krasius/366878453323733Tracklist______________Manifest Yourself - Sonic Area Icct Hedral (Edit) - Aphex Twin Far Red - Monolake Smax - Nebulo Cornucopia - Mike Dred & Peter Green Amenity - Link Krake - Richard Devine Kill The Processors - Panacea Explicit Kill - Xingu Hill Darken (Anodyne Remix 06.9) - Anodyne A Caine In The Brain - Architect Corridor - Vex'd Ache Of The North - Clark Worm [Rmx] - Cane Acid Steak Night - µ-Ziq Rule By Law - British Murder Boys BLue Calx - Aphex Twin Choleric - Archae & Grovskopa Hate Is Such A Strong Word - British Murder Boys Cancer (Coffee Cup) - Mr 76ix Lichen - Aphex Twin The Garden Of Linmiri - Caustic Window Electrobotz - The Doubtful Guest No.66667 - Syntheme Mexicone - Syntheme Punk motherfucker (Richard Devine remix) - Funkstörung Lectric Landlady - Mr. 76ix Iyff Acid e1 - Steinvord Laindon Link - Odan 4001 - Squarepusher No Strings Attached But A Volcom Belt - D'Arcangelo Dr Eamprie Stess - Mr. 76ix Meinheld - µ-Ziq Venus No. 17 (Acid Mix) - Squarepusher Church Of Pain - Kinesthesia Tampax (Hedphuq Mix) - Aphex Twin

Welcome to another chapter in Headphone Commute podcasts. It’s our 101st installment! I hope you’ve been enjoying this show. Today we welcome back one of my all-time favorite artists, Roel Funcken. Back in February, Funcken shared with us an exclusive mix of his favorite selections, in his Foel Runcken’s Waistbend Fall Mix. On this Rercury Metrograde mix, Funcken offers a collection of unreleased tracks, remixes, and more than handful of pieces from his latest full length release – Mercury Retrograde (yes, you see the play on syllables there). The album is being released TODAY (Sept, 4th) on the always fantastic Schematic Records (home of Phoenecia, Richard Devine, Kiyo and many others). So if you dig these tracks, please support the artist, and be sure to purchase your copy directly from the label. Now sit back, close your eyes, and get ready for a wild ride! It’s going to be one you’ll remember! For full track listing and more information about this mix, please visit headphonecommute.com
09.19.08 Pitfalls of CompilationsLike every able minded wit in this new century's culture wars, I have a podcast. In all humility it is a simple affair, intended to be bi-weekly, it now struggles along at almost a monthly pace. The original intent, beyond the glorious wealth and epic fame of being a podcaster, was to create a feedback loop of finding new music, making it available as a piece, and then, of course, finding more. Little did know the amount of time needed to put together one hour of music. I bete musicians feel the same, only more so.. .Part of the issue is time spent listening to music. I had seriously underestimated the amount of time and attention that this requires. The basic necessity, to listen intently to a song, compounded by the ridiculous wealth in good music that our age best exemplifies, is basically absurd. Thanks to the internet, WFMU's Antique Phonograph show is as easily available as that Moxie Fruvous bootleg I got kicking around somewhere. By which I mean; the obscure areifacts are everywhere it just listening. And once you start you realize how endless it all is.I spend more time now "culling the herd" than finding the selections. My average show starts at around three hours long - then I spend a few days listening and removing and adding on, until I've gotten to that CD-R sweet spot of 80 min. Usually another couple of days are spent juggling the order of tracks until their sequence is coherent. Another dat tweaking levels and getting the fades right, and often a last minute substitution or two. Fianlly the set list is compiled, and depending on time constraints I may link to the artists and I may write comments. In the olden days of "leisure time" I'd even record spoken bits to intro and seqway songs and sections. this is unlikely to happen now.In the interests of saying something, here are the rationalizations for track inclusion and highlights for the mix I have here:01 - Amon Tobin - Get Your Snack OnThe heavy textures and repititive moments of this are given a lighter and jazzier feel by the diverse organic sounding palatte of samples.02 - Matmos - Zealous Order of Candied KnightsFollowing on from that orgainc sound is Matmos who has made some of the most insightfult inroads of producing along thematic lines. This is from their Civil War album. 03 - People Like Us - My Son Jim (excerpt)04 - Hifana - Wamono PV05 - The Books - It Never Changes to Stop06 - Kid Koala - Fender BenderProbably on of the most skilled turntabilists of this generation. This is one of the more expansive tracks from his first album - it features a large variety of well meshed vinyl.07 - Cex - OD'd on First Base08 - Dj Food & DK - Let's Play DrumsFrom thier "Now, Listen!" album this "track" is not the best - but it has a very good beat, yes?09 - Kid606 - MP3 Killed The CD StarOne of the more accessible tracks from this laptop artist, here edited to a more managable size.10 - Mum - Abakvid Tvaer Hædir,,,,sundlau11 - Dj Vadim - Dig Yourself Baby12 - Prefuse 73 & the Books - Pagina Cuatro13 - Dj Z-Trip & Dj P - Uneasy Listening Track 4Off of their freely downloadable album of the same name.14 - Amon Tobin - Foley RoomA studio heavy music concrete with a largely IDM influenced percussion the track is a step away from his earlier jazzy sound.15 - Dj Shadow - Building Steam with a Grain of Salt (excerpt)16 - Proem - Negativ - Bolt Action A17 - Proem - Negativ - Bolt Action A17 - Skalpel - Tension18 - Plastiq Phantom - Experimentation on Foreign Light19 - Negativland - What's Music (excerpt)20 - Radio Soulwax - paul simon - ladytron - (guitarsolo)21 - Volcano The Bear - Five Hundred Boy Piano (excerpt)22 - Richard Devine - block, variation23 -Kid Koala - Basin Street Blues24 - Squarepusher & MC Twin Tub - Full Rinse25 - The Art Of Noise - How To Kill26 - Man or Astroman - A Simple Text FileA wonderful printer piece, true electronicaimage from: Nietzsche Family CircusCoincidentally this is from a music diary for the Brooklyn College cc1.3 class. The mix itself was done in the vein of finding electronic music of a certain odd caliber after a discussion of the matter with the professor. For those curious, yes, college is going well, thanks for asking. I may not be making these show too often anymore but it is a nice break from the studies - and in this case fits in well besides them.
