Judge Paul Engelmeyer has refused the Trump administration's request to release the grand jury transcripts from Ghislaine Maxwell's prosecution. He notes forcefully that he's reviewed the grand jury transcripts and there's no there there — everything of interest disclosed to the grand jury became public at trial. Indeed, the only reason Engelmeyer considered releasing the transcript was that it would serve the public interest of showing the government had been lying about what's in the transcript. But he said that wasn't necessary, either, because the government ultimately admitted in subsequent filings that the transcript didn't contain interesting information. So what, exactly, have we been doing here?In other news, some idiot threw a sandwich at a CBP officer sent by Trump to patrol the streets of Washington and the Justice Department is hot to make an example him. Did Kohberger Strike BEFORE King Road? The Sorority House Break-In EXPOSED In October 2021, more than a year before the University of Idaho murders, a terrifying call came in to Pullman, Washington police: a masked man with a knife had broken into a sorority house in the middle of the night. One of the women woke to find him at the foot of her bed. She kicked him in the stomach and he fled. No words, no injuries, but a lasting trauma — and no suspect identified. For over a year, the case sat unsolved. Then, in December 2022, Bryan Kohberger was arrested for the Moscow, Idaho murders. Investigators in Pullman took notice. The similarities were obvious: a college town, late at night, a masked intruder, a knife. They reopened the file to see if there was a connection. For nine days, Kohberger was a person of interest in that older case. Detectives examined his travel history, class schedule, and any reason he might have been in Pullman in October 2021. They found none. At the time of the break-in, Kohberger was still living in Pennsylvania, enrolled at DeSales University, with no evidence placing him anywhere near Pullman. There was no digital footprint, no credible witness sighting, and no physical evidence tying him to the scene. Police closed their review with a clear conclusion: the 2021 Pullman break-in was not connected to Bryan Kohberger. This episode looks at why police were right to check, why they were equally right to rule him out, and why not every similar crime points to the same suspect. We'll walk through the facts, the process, and the lesson in investigative discipline — separating echo from evidence. #BryanKohberger #Idaho4 #PullmanBreakIn #TrueCrime #MoscowMurders #SororityHouse #CrimeNews #Investigation #CollegeCrime #HiddenKillers Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Is Trump becoming “the demented dictator”? That's the question driving the latest episode of Shrinking Trump, as clinical psychologists John Gartner and Harry Segal sit down with Dan Rodricks, the legendary former Baltimore Sun columnist, to unpack Trump's disastrous press conference where he unveiled a plan to seize control of the D.C. police. Be sure to subscribe wherever you get your podcasts: Our site Subscribe on iTunes Subscribe on Spotify Subscribe on Amazon Music Subscribe on iHeartRadio They paint a vivid picture of Trump's recent media blitz, from declaring eight separate states of emergency to deploying troops in Washington, D.C. Rather than stemming crime—which has actually declined—these moves feel like a staged spectacle, a bid to manufacture chaos and justify an authoritarian grip. Heather Cox Richardson and photographer-writer Rex Huke chime in to call out the mainstream press for glossing over Trump's erratic behavior. Too often, anchors chase sensational sound bites instead of pressing for real answers, reducing cognitive warning signs to fleeting headlines rather than treating them as red flags. When Trump turns his fire on Baltimore, he distorts a city on the rise into a caricature of dysfunction. Gartner and Segal contrast his fear-mongering with ground-level reality—neighborhood revitalization, falling violent-crime rates, and community-led renewal—showing how he weaponizes urban struggles to stoke division. Pointing out possible signs of cognitive strain in our leaders isn't a cheap political attack—it's a civic responsibility. By naming these stunts for what they may be—symptoms of mental strain—we open the door to honest dialogue, inoculate ourselves against manipulation, and reclaim our democratic norms. Tune in to Shrinking Trump on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your shows. Arm yourself with the language to see past the façade and call out authoritarian playbooks whenever they emerge. In a world drowning in noise, psychological clarity just might be our most powerful defense. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

It's Friday, August 15th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Muslims in Congo kill three, set cars ablaze, & abduct others There were two separate attacks attributed to the Allied Democratic Forces, a Muslim terrorist group operating in the eastern area of the Democratic Republic of Congo, reports International Christian Concern. The first ambush occurred on the evening of Saturday, August 9 in North Kivu Province. The Muslims targeted a specific vehicle and abducted its passengers. The second, more deadly attack occurred during the night of Sunday, August 10 in the Ituri Province. They killed three people, set ablaze several vehicles and houses, and abducted many residents who remain missing. Nearly 10,000 sign petition demanding Toronto mayor end taxpayer funding to homosexual ‘pride' events A petition signed by 10,000 people has been submitted to Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow demanding an end to taxpayer funding of homosexual/ transgender “pride” events, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Earlier this month, Gregory Tomchyshyn, the Canadian campaign director for Citizen Go, dropped off a petition to Mayor Chow calling for her government to end its lavish spending of taxpayer dollars on the promotion of sexual perversion, including the “Toronto Pride” parade. For years now, LifeSiteNews has documented the event's crude floats, public nudity, and public displays of sexual exhibitionism. The petition said, “Mayor Olivia Chow and Toronto City Council just handed $350,000 in taxpayer money to Pride Toronto, despite the event's history of public nudity and indecent displays in full view of families and children.” According to Canadian Broadasting Corporation News, “Pride Toronto” will see its taxpayer funding hiked by 26 percent since fewer corporations want to promote sexual immorality. Toronto Mayor Chow condemned corporations that pulled funding from the group and suggested not shopping at Home Depot because the corporation is no longer funding the sexually perverted “Pride Toronto.” You can write Mayor Chow a polite 2-sentence email of objection: mayor_chow@toronto.ca. Or send a letter to: Mayor Olivia Chow, City Hall, 2nd Floor, 100 Queen St. W., Toronto, ON M5H 2N2 Canada. Previously, Adidas and Nissan Canada were considered “gold-level” sponsors, a designation given for those who donate at least $150,000 in cash or in-kind contributions. Venezuelan Evangelical Christians march for Jesus Thousands of Evangelical Christians mobilized across Venezuela during the March for Jesus, reports The Christian Post. The event featured preaching, public worship, biblical reflection, and prayers for Venezuela. According to the Latin Evangelical Alliance, this year's theme was: “Jesus, the nations belong to You.” Social media was filled with images of the march, which was held not only in cities but also in rural towns. Pastor José Piñero, executive director of the Evangelical Council of Venezuela, addressed the crowd in Cumaná with a message in Spanish focused on grace. I'll translate this 9-sentence clip in a moment. (Piñero speaks in Spanish) Pastor Piñero said, “We are here because this land cries out for hope. And that hope has a name. And His name is Jesus Christ! (cheers) “Today, we march with purpose, with conviction, with firm love. We don't march for ideologies. We don't march for human agendas. We don't march for political agendas. We don't march for sectarian agendas. We come with the eternal Word of God, the Bible.” Proverbs 30:5 says, “Every W ord of God is flawless; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.” Seventeen percent of Venezuela's population is comprised of Protestants and 71% is Catholic. Trump-Putin meeting in Anchorage today about ending Russo-Ukrainian War Anchorage, Alaska Mayor Suzanne LaFrance, an Independent, has announced that the city is “prepared and ready” for President Donald Trump's high-stakes meeting today with Russian President Vladimir Putin about ending the Russo-Ukrainian War. The meeting is set to be held at the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. Trump seeks to extend federal D.C. takeover as ‘sanctuary city' policies put on ice In an effort to eradicate violent crime in our nation's capital, President Donald Trump is preparing to ask Congress to extend the 30-day limit on his federal takeover of Washington, D.C. When asked by a reporter Thursday if he intends to seek congressional approval to prolong his federalization of D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department, the president said this in reply. TRUMP: “Well, if it's a national emergency, we can do it without Congress, but we expect to be before Congress very quickly. We think the Democrats will not do anything to stop crime, but we think the Republicans will do it almost unanimously.” The president began moving federal law enforcement agents into D.C. late last week, following the vicious beating of a Department of Government Efficiency staffer, 19-year-old Edward Cristine, who intervened in a carjacking to protect the female victim. On August 11th, President Trump officially took federal control of the D.C. police department and quickly mobilized the D.C. National Guard. Between August 7 and the morning of August 13, the federal crackdown yielded 103 arrests on charges ranging from suspected homicide and narcotics to firearm offenses and even illegal immigration. Woman sues Marine who allegedly poisoned her drink with 10 abortion pills And finally, Liana Davis, a Texas woman, has become the latest victim of a disturbing case of the abortion kill pill being used against her, and she's taking her pain to court, reports The Washington Stand. Her lawsuit alleges that Christopher Cooprider, a 34-year-old U.S. Marine, impregnated her and repeatedly pressured her to “get rid” of the baby, despite her firm refusals. According to the federal lawsuit, Davis has accused Cooprider of dissolving at least 10 misoprostol pills into her drink, without her knowledge, at her Corpus Christi home while she was eight weeks pregnant with his child. It only took 30 minutes after drinking the spiked beverage for Davis to start “hemorrhaging and cramping.” She asked for his help, but Cooprider fled the scene and was unreachable. In a text at 12:30a.m., she wrote, “I am gushing blood. Please hurry.” But he never responded. Tragically, their baby died. The first half of Proverbs 28:13 describes Christopher Cooprider well. “He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.” The wrongful death lawsuit seeks unspecified damages from Cooprider and Aid Access, the company which sold the abortion kill pill to the randy Marine. According to NBC News, “The Corpus Christi Police Department said there are no active investigations involving Cooprider.” The Marine declined to comment as well. According to a new study from the Journal of the American Medical Association, Aid Access shipped 118,000 chemical abortion pill packs into the U.S. between July 2023 and September 2024. On X, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins wrote, “The Trump administration must take action now. 1 in 10 women suffer severe complications from the abortion pill. Traffickers and others use easy drug access to control women and kill unborn children. State laws are being trampled.” If you or a loved one has ingested the Abortion Kill Pill with regret, the baby can be saved during the first couple of days through a special progesterone protocol. A new study by researchers at the University of Washington shows support for an integrated model of health care that could be especially effective in improving access to care for people experiencing homelessness and their pets. One Health Clinic opened in 2018 in Seattle as part of UW’s Center for One Health Research. The center, which was created in collaboration with Washington State University, explores the connections between the health of humans and animals within their shared environments. The One Health Clinic aims to remove barriers to medical and veterinary care for youth and young adults experiencing homelessness and their pets by providing that care and other services under one roof. The study found that from 2019 to 2022, 80% of all clients who visited the clinic for their pets’ veterinary care also received care for themselves, and nearly half of the clients established care for themselves for the first time in at least two years. Natalie Rejto is the lead author of the study, a patient navigator at One Health Clinic and a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for One Health Research. Vickie Ramirez is a co-author of the study and program manager at COHR. They join us to share their findings and thoughts on expanding the clinic’s model to improve health outcomes for both people and their pets.
America's edge in artificial intelligence may rest on one decision now facing Washington: whether to keep our most advanced chips out of Beijing's hands. President Trump has moved to lift the export ban on Nvidia's H20 processors—a move some warn could supercharge China's AI ambitions and military power—arming the Chinese Communist Party for dominance in the AI age. Cliff May and Matt Pottinger pull back the curtain on the high-stakes race, the players vying for advantage, and what's really at risk if America loses its lead.
Visit altassetsummit.com to learn how to invest in Alternative Assets.(More links down below.) In this episode of the Directed IRA Podcast, Mark Kohler and Mat Sorensen break down a groundbreaking new executive order from President Donald Trump that could reshape the future of 401(k) investing—by opening the door to alternative assets. For decades, Wall Street and Washington have kept most retirement savers locked into a narrow menu of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and ETFs. This executive order flips the script, setting a national policy that every American preparing for retirement should have the option to invest in alternatives—just like the wealthiest institutions do.Mat and Mark explain what “alternative assets” really mean in this context, from real estate and crypto to private equity, commodities, and infrastructure investments. They walk through the specific investments cited in the order, why these options have been off-limits for most 401(k) participants, and how this policy could shift the $8 trillion 401(k) industry toward more choice and freedom for everyday investors. They also unpack the political dynamics, regulatory hurdles, and 180-day timeline for the Department of Labor and SEC to develop new guidance—while emphasizing what you can do right now. If you have an IRA or old 401(k), you can already invest in alternatives today using a self-directed account, bypassing the “check-the-box” limitations of traditional plans.Whether you're a corporate employee stuck with cookie-cutter 401(k) options or a self-directed investor ready to take the reins, this episode will help you understand the stakes, the timeline, and the opportunities in this unprecedented policy shift.Chapters:00:08 - Trump's Executive Order on Alternative Assets02:19 - Defining Alternative Assets02:30 - Learn How to Invest in Alternative Assets(https://altassetsummit.com/)02:48 - List of Alternative Assets - From Trump04:19 - How the Executive Order Could Impact You05:20 - Timeline and Political Landscape09:07 - The Power of Self-Directed Investing12:02 - IRAs: Invest in Alternatives Today14:03- Directed IRA Homepage: https://directedira.com/ Directed IRA Explore (Linktree): https://linktr.ee/SelfDirectedIRA Book a Call: https://directedira.com/appointment/ Other:Mat Sorensen: https://matsorensen.com & https://linktr.ee/MatSorensen KKOS: https://kkoslawyers.comMain Street Business https://mainstreetbusiness.com

Jim Elliot once wrote, “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.”“Generous” might not be the first word that comes to mind when you think about pro athletes, but Kirk Cousins is rewriting that playbook. The three-time Pro Bowl quarterback in the NFL is using his platform—and resources—for eternal impact. Today, we'll hear how his faith shapes everything from football to finances.Kirk Cousins is the starting quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons and a veteran leader in the National Football League (NFL). He previously spent six seasons with the Washington Commanders and six with the Minnesota Vikings. A four-time Pro Bowler and outspoken man of faith, he is also the cofounder of the Julie & Kirk Cousins Foundation, which supports families and youth through faith-based initiatives.A Legacy of Generosity: Lessons from His ParentsGrowing up as a pastor's kid, Cousins remembers how his parents modeled generosity long before he had a bank account of his own.“My mom had the gift of hospitality,” he says. “Even when I didn't think I needed money, she'd hand me two twenties before I went out with friends. There was just this open-handedness.”While his dad managed the family finances with intentionality, it was his mother's willingness to give freely that left the deepest mark. “It was caught, not just taught,” Cousins reflects, emphasizing how their example shaped his understanding of stewardship early on.From Minimum Wage to Signing Bonuses: A Crash Course in StewardshipWhen Cousins was drafted into the NFL, his first check—a six-figure signing bonus—was a wake-up call.“As a college kid who had never earned more than minimum wage, I didn't know what to do,” he recalls. “I called my dad, and he said, ‘I don't know either!'”That moment marked the beginning of a stewardship journey—one that included learning to give, save, and live below his means in a world of excess. It wasn't easy, especially when surrounded by peers embracing a more lavish lifestyle. But Cousins understood that as an athlete, his income had a shorter runway.“You're approaching a cliff,” he says. “So it's scary to give when your career has an end date. But that's where faith comes in—trusting that God will provide beyond your own earning power.”It would be easy, Cousins admits, to treat financial obedience like a checklist—give, save, repeat. But biblical stewardship isn't about rules; it's about surrender.“I've done that—just checked the boxes. But that's not the abundant life Jesus promises. It's not religion, it's relationship.”He points to Jesus' parable of the treasure in the field (Matt. 13:44): “Once you see Jesus as the treasure, everything else becomes a logical response. Of course you'd sell everything to have Him. Stewardship flows from seeing Him clearly.”When Faith Feels Risky: Giving on a Diminishing TimelineThe tension for Cousins lies in balancing the enjoyment of God's provision with wisdom about the future.“I actually enjoy those moments that require more faith. When I give, and I don't know what's next, it puts the pressure back on God—where it belongs.”But he's quick to acknowledge the gray areas. “What's wise versus what's excessive? There's no formula. You have to walk with God and ask for His guidance daily.”One of the most valuable pieces of advice Kirk received early in his career came from a generous mentor: “Always give in unity with your wife.”That advice stuck.“When Julie isn't comfortable, I pause and pray. Her perspective might be the Holy Spirit speaking. Giving together strengthens our marriage and our stewardship.”Cousins sees their giving not only as a financial decision, but as a spiritual discipline of unity and trust.Planning for the Future: Wisdom Before WealthAs parents to young boys, Kirk and Julie have also had to consider how best to plan their estate. They've established a family office to prepare for the future—but with a strong desire to pass on wisdom before wealth.“We want to get to the end of our lives and say: the wisest hands to put this in are our kids'. But we also want to be realistic. If it wouldn't be wise to pass along wealth, we want our plan to reflect that.”Much of their estate will also go to their foundation, which they hope will be spent down soon after their passing. “We don't want it to live on in perpetuity with intentions we never had. We want to make an impact now.”So, where is Kirk Cousins most excited to give right now? The answer goes back to his roots.“I went to a Christian high school—Holland Christian—and it profoundly impacted my life. I want to make it more affordable for other families, support teachers, and strengthen Christian education.”It's a full-circle moment: a public school kid transformed by Christian community, now investing in the same kind of life-shaping environments for others.Final Whistle: A Life Well StewardedKirk Cousins is more than an NFL quarterback. He's a husband, father, and faithful steward who is using his influence to glorify God—not just in the end zone, but in the quiet decisions of budgeting, giving, and planning for the future. His story reminds us: Stewardship is not about how much we have—it's about how faithfully we respond to the One who gave it all.On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:I own my home outright and keep hearing about home title protection services. How real is the risk of title fraud, and should I be concerned?I have rental properties in Arkansas, but my kids in California don't want them. I'm worried that when I pass, they'll sell them quickly for way less than they're worth. Should I go ahead and sell them now and put the money in a trust for my grandkids' education—or is there a better option?”Resources Mentioned:Faithful Steward: FaithFi's New Quarterly Magazine (Become a FaithFi Partner)The Julie & Kirk Cousins FoundationWisdom Over Wealth: 12 Lessons from Ecclesiastes on MoneyLook At The Sparrows: A 21-Day Devotional on Financial Fear and AnxietyRich Toward God: A Study on the Parable of the Rich FoolFind a Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA) or Certified Christian Financial Counselor (CertCFC)FaithFi App Remember, you can call in to ask your questions most days at (800) 525-7000. On this edition of Parallax Views, journalist and war correspondent Tom Mutch, author of The Dogs of Mariupol: The Invasion of Ukraine and the Future of War, joins the show to discuss his frontline reporting on the Russia–Ukraine war and the hard lessons of a conflict that continues to reshape global politics. We begin by revisiting the shocking first days of Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, when many in Moscow and the West assumed Ukraine would collapse within days. Why did so many analysts underestimate Ukraine's resilience, and what explains the country's remarkable ability to withstand Vladimir Putin's assault? From there, we examine how the war has evolved between 2022 and 2025—highlighting acts of courage by Ukrainian civilians and soldiers, but also the immense human cost of the conflict. Tom reflects on mistakes made by Ukraine and the West, including the absence of a coherent U.S. strategy for aiding Kyiv, and whether Washington's focus has sometimes been more about weakening Russia than guaranteeing Ukraine's territorial sovereignty. We also address difficult questions such as the controversial defense of Bakhmut, whether Ukraine committed critical tactical errors, and what the future may hold: negotiations, diplomacy, or total victory. The conversation goes beyond Ukraine as well. We discuss the significance of Nagorno-Karabakh in understanding today's revived great-power politics, and how the war in Gaza has negatively impacted Ukraine, especially as Israel's actions have come under scrutiny and undermined U.S. moral credibility as an arbiter of the global order. Finally, Tom speaks to audiences split on the war—those skeptical of Ukraine's continued fight and U.S. military aid, and those who strongly defend Kyiv's efforts. While Mutch comes from a firmly pro-Ukraine perspective, he offers a nuanced and critical edge that challenges simplistic narratives on both sides of the debate. He also offers criticisms of the American right-wing's views on Ukraine, addresses controversies around the Azov Battalion and the cultural significance of WWII-era far-right figure Stepan Bandera in modern Ukraine, and more.
Illinois is one of the bluest states in the country, so much so that more than two-dozen Texas House Democrats fled there to protest a proposed congressional map in their home state that could broaden Republican power in Washington. Governor J-B Pritzker is among the Democrats promising to fight – and some people think the fight might include a new map in Illinois.
Is Canada making a huge mistake by pivoting away from the U.S.? The U.S.–Canada relationship has been one of the most stable alliances in modern history – but political shifts, global instability, and rising threats from China, Russia, and Iran are testing that bond like never before. In this hard-hitting episode, we dig into the reality behind the headlines and ask the tough question: Can Canada survive – economically or militarily – without the United States at its side? Studio Sponsor: Cardio Miracle - "Unlock the secret to a healthier heart, increased energy levels, and transform your cardiovascular fitness like never before.": CardioMiracle.com/TBNS For decades, Canada and the U.S. have fought alongside each other in major conflicts, defended shared interests, and benefited from an open, secure global trade system. But now, Canadian leaders are entertaining new defense and trade alignments, some even calling for a “pivot” away from Washington. Is this bold independence… or dangerous overconfidence? Joining me is Anthony De Luca-Baratta of Young Voices, who argues that the U.S.–Canada partnership isn't just about friendship – it's about survival. From shared geopolitical goals to economic interdependence, we explore why both nations need each other more than ever. We also unpack Canada's defense spending gap, its reliance on U.S. protection, and what that means in a world where American voters are increasingly skeptical of global policing. We don't shy away from the hard truths: America's foreign policy has been messy, sometimes overreaching, and costly – and Canadians have followed us into conflicts with questionable returns. But what happens if the U.S. steps back completely? Could Canada stand on its own in a hostile world, or would it be forced into dangerous compromises with regimes that don't share its values? If you care about national sovereignty, North American security, and the future of one of the world's most important alliances, you can't afford to miss this episode. This is more than just U.S.–Canada relations – it's a case study in how nations balance independence, alliances, and self-interest in an increasingly unstable world. ❤️ Order Cardio Miracle (CardioMiracle.com/TBNS) for 15% off and take a step towards better heart health and overall well-being!

After more than a decade of restrictions under Pope Francis, Marshall advocates patience and prayer as Leo navigates Vatican politics while showing promising signs of respect for tradition. The conversation delves into Marshall's thoughtful distinction between modern Christian nationalism and authentic Catholic patriotism. His forthcoming book "Christian Patriot: 12 Ways to Create One Nation Under God" offers a roadmap for cultural renewal grounded in natural law, Church teaching, and the social kingship of Christ. Unlike many Protestant approaches to Christian politics, Marshall draws from the rich tradition of Catholic social thought dating back to St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas.Demographics emerge as a powerful undercurrent in the discussion, with traditional Catholic communities growing through significantly higher birth rates while progressive parishes struggle to maintain attendance. Marshall projects that this "demographics is destiny" reality will inevitably reshape the Church regardless of current policies or restrictions. The hosts explore how America's unique Catholic landscape differs from the more secularized European context, creating both challenges and opportunities. The episode takes a fascinating turn as Marshall shares Catholic perspectives on apocalyptic prophecy that contrast sharply with popular dispensationalist interpretations, particularly regarding Israel and end-times events. Throughout, Marshall maintains that regardless of whether we face minor tribulations or major apocalyptic events, Catholics are called to consistent faithfulness—loving enemies while building cultures that reflect Christ's teachings.Pre-order Marshall's book at ChristianPatriotBook.com and discover a compelling vision for cultural renewal rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition.Support the showSponsored by Recusant Cellars, an unapologetically Catholic and pro-life winery from Washington state. In this episode, John Byrne and Elliot Berman unpack a series of significant developments in banking, compliance, and enforcement. They begin with the White House's new executive order on “Guaranteeing Fair Banking for All Americans,” which aims to prevent what some call “debanking.” While positioned as a fairness measure, John and Elliot warn that it could weaken banks' ability to make independent, risk-based decisions, potentially increasing white-collar crime exposure. They note concerns over the subjective nature of risk scoring and parallels to the 2008–2010 financial crisis. Next, they spotlight the IRS-CI “CI-FIRST” program, a collaborative effort between financial institutions and the IRS's Criminal Investigation division to improve information sharing and streamline financial record requests. The recent CI-FIRST Executive Forum in Washington is seen as a model for effective public-private partnerships in combating financial crime. The discussion then turns to enforcement actions: Paxos Trust Company will pay $26.5 million to New York regulators for failing to properly vet Binance and for systemic AML program weaknesses, alongside a $22 million investment in compliance upgrades. The DOJ issued its first corporate FCPA action since resuming enforcement, with Liberty Mutual paying $4.7 million to resolve bribery allegations involving Indian state-owned banks. Do Kwon, co-founder of Terraform Labs, pled guilty to wire fraud and conspiracy, tied to the $40 billion collapse of Terra USD and Luna, with a $19 million penalty and possible 12-year sentence. They also cover a Senate minority report critical of the administration's approach to Russian sanctions, arguing it undermines Ukraine's leverage and lacks consistent enforcement. The FACT Coalition emphasizes the need for tools like the Corporate Transparency Act to bolster sanctions' effectiveness. On the policy front, they discuss delays and staffing cuts affecting the State Department's annual human rights report and the pending trafficking in persons report—both key references for global human rights and anti-trafficking efforts.
The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds and Scott Eklund - were at Washington's 13th fall practice early Friday morning, held inside the Dempsey due to rainy skies. With Jedd Fisch and the UW coaches now firmly in 'game week' mode, the practice was more of a one where the Huskies did their work in shoulder pads and shorts, working on cleaning things up and installing more things UW fans can expect to see Saturday night during their second 'mock game' of fall camp. They talked about what they saw on both sides of the line of scrimmage, but three main storylines on offense caught a lot of their attention. The first was the return of Denzel Boston was a focal point, as was the return of another receiver, Dezmen Roebuck, who missed Thursday's practice. The second storyline; how much will Roebuck play this year? Is he a certainly to burn his redshirt? And the other storyline that has certainly developed over the course of fall is the battle at left guard between Paki Finau and John Mills. The redshirt frosh had the job at the end of spring, but the true freshman Mills has continued to just get better and better by the practice to where it's now basically a dead heat between the two. The battle has been at a point now where the coaches alternate series between Finau and Mills with the first team. And an additional subplot; who makes up the full 8-man rotation? The guys feel good about the first six (the four constant starters plus Finau/Mills) but who are shoe-ins for those other two slots? All the competition is simply showing the Huskies are in a great spot heading into Saturday's mock game, even if today's practice was the 13th. And even if it did take place on a Friday. It's a high-energy Friday on Right on Radio as the host welcomes listeners to the “grand illusion” and sets the table for a sweeping tour through faith, media, and geopolitics. The episode opens with the interactive Word on Word segment, comparing Luke 1:49 with Romans 14:8—listeners overwhelmingly choose Romans 14:8—and a teased clue about the next New Testament book for the returning Sunday Bible study. A dance-inducing outro track is promised to cap the show, complete with another hint for eager Bible-readers. Challenging mainstream and alternative media alike, the host argues that coordinated talking points, sentiment-tracking, and AI-driven feedback loops are used to steer public opinion and prevent unity. The conversation frames current narratives as flexible storylines that are constantly adjusted based on measured dissent, with control—rather than outcomes—presented as the primary objective of the so-called elites. From there, the lens widens to Canada, where the host describes economic decline, internal trade barriers, resource constraints, and growing separatist talk in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Quebec. The discussion then shifts to the UK and Commonwealth, highlighting October timelines for central bank digital currencies, rising public resistance, and the broader struggle between central banking power and the BRICS push toward gold-backed systems. Gold signals, shifting Arctic trade routes (with Canada and Russia as key stakeholders), and an alternative to the Suez chokepoint (the proposed Ben Gurion Canal) are presented as pieces of a fast-changing global chessboard. Turning to Ukraine, the episode outlines the host's view of Russia's red lines—retaining eastern regions, rolling back NATO encroachment, and “de‑nazification”—and the claim that public messaging obscures the real stakes. The much-discussed Trump–Putin meeting is portrayed as pre-scripted, with the true agenda said to involve trade corridors, currency realignment, and dismantling the old power triad of the City of London, the Vatican, and Washington, D.C. A reported threat of a false-flag attack in Kyiv is also mentioned as part of the day's tense backdrop. The episode detours into the UFO debate as it ricochets through Congress and media: “greys,” “Nordics,” “insectoids,” and “reptilians” are reinterpreted through a spiritual lens, with the host framing them as angelic or demonic manifestations rather than extraterrestrials. This leads into a prophetic thread on the rise of “ten kings,” a brief transfer of power, and the emergence of the Antichrist—tying scriptural expectations to contemporary events and symbols, including the meeting location dubbed “Q1” on 17th Street. Throughout, the host emphasizes keeping faith centered: do not look to politicians for salvation, trust God's sovereignty, and weigh unfolding events against Scripture. Community notes include a Saturday night prayer call on Telegram and a lighthearted household saga featuring a soot-covered dog, a stubborn squirrel, and a reluctant fireplace. The show closes with a Joe Bonamassa track—“Love Ain't a Love Song”—and a final nudge for listeners to guess the next Bible study book. No guest joins this episode; instead, it's a spirited solo deep-dive with real-time audience participation, weaving together media critique, geopolitics, spiritual warfare, and practical faith. On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, George and Alex Soros are relentlessly working to undermine this nation. Despite the Soros family amassing billions from this country, they choose to finance antisemitic protestors, purchase radio stations to sway public opinion, and back radical Democrats and influencers. They are now supporting protests against President Trump's crime crackdown in Washington, D.C., including a $20 million contribution to groups opposing the deployment of National Guard troops and federalization of D.C.'s police. When will the Republicans investigate the Soros family? Also, Gov Mike Dunleavy calls in to discuss the Trump/Putin meeting in Alaska this Friday. In addition, Alaska's energy resources are vital, but under the Biden and Obama administrations, the state faced restrictive federal policies. In contrast, Trump has liberated Alaska's energy sector. Later, Democrats, having lost touch with the cultural zeitgeist, are attempting to fracture the MAGA coalition built by Trump. Their strategy involves exploiting internal disagreements within MAGA, using media-driven wedge issues like foreign policy and the Epstein case to create divisions. “Some are being advanced by paid influencers and operatives, along with bot armies, to split the movement.” Afterward, Gov Greg Abbott calls in and addresses the ongoing issue of redistricting in Texas, where a special 30-day legislative session is nearing its end with less than a week remaining. Democrats in the Texas House, numbering 62 out of 150 members, left the state to block a quorum, which requires two-thirds of the House and Senate to act, preventing a vote on redistricting. Abbott expressed confidence in passing the redistricting legislation by calling consecutive special sessions if needed. Finally, Gov Ron DeSantis calls in to announce his new Lieutenant Gov Jay Collins. They discuss Florida's appeal and the need for redistricting to ensure fair representation, especially in rapidly growing areas like Tampa Bay and Sarasota. They also advocate for a census that counts only legal residents and points out California's gerrymandered district maps, which favor liberal candidates despite being drawn by an independent commission. Jason Kander and Ravi Gupta break down the deployment of National Guard troops to Washington, D.C., as Trump launches a federal crackdown on crime in the capital. They analyze the administration's show of force, the sharp pushback from Mayor Bowser, and what this unprecedented federal intervention means for local autonomy. Kander and Gupta also dive into Trump's escalating economic nationalism, from bizarre tariff proposals to his plan to take a cut of Nvidia's China sales, and the growing alarm over his appointment of a partisan loyalist to lead the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Plus, they discuss Trump's latest mixed signals on Ukraine, the political theater surrounding the manufactured Sydney Sweeney controversy, and they are joined by Arkansas farmer Hallie Shoffner to talk about her run for U.S. Senate against Tom Cotton.
