In just three days, America chooses it's next president. Republican Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw joins Christiane to explain why Donald Trump is an easy choice when compared with Kamala Harris, and makes the case for why Trump's policies will be better for Americans. Next, with control of congress also at stake on November 5th, Democrat John Avlon tells Christiane about his own campaign to flip seats in the New York race that could decide the balance of power in Washington. Then, CNN's Tamara Qiblawi investigates how the IDF's targeting of Hezbollah in Lebanon has threatened the country's healthcare system. Plus, Actress Keri Russell and show creator Deborah Cahn speak with Christiane about their love letter to the U.S. State Department, in Season 2 of “The Diplomat.” From her archive, Christiane revisits her conversation with the late King Hussein, marking 30 years since the Israel-Jordan peace accords, and the last time Middle East peace seemed within reach. Finally, Christiane and Bill T. Jones sit down at BAM in New York to reflect on the revival of his dance theater production “Still/Here,” originally created during the height of the AIDS epidemic, and explores the enduring themes of mortality and resilience. The complexity of dealing with problems in the Middle East was pervasive during the Reagan years but the 40th President continued to pursue a path to peace. In February 1984, he invited President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt and King Hussein of Jordan to Washington to discuss the war in Lebanon and other issues. Things were hot in the Middle East. By early 1984, US forces were directly fighting in the Persian Gulf. In late February, a US Navy destroyer launched anti-aircraft missiles against Iranian patrol aircraft. At the end of May, a USAF KC-10 tanker helped Saudi Air Force jets maintain patrols over the Gulf to head off Iranian retaliation for Iraqi attacks on oil tankers. In early June, the USAF tankers and AWACS assisted the Saudis in shooting down one or two Iranian F-4 Phantom fighter-bombers. So, US military forces played a frequent and direct combat role in regional conflicts during 1984. Therefore, in constant pursuit of communication at least, President Mubarak of Egypt and King Hussein of Jordan visited. First, let's talk about Jordan and Hussein.

We're closing out Arab-American Heritage Month with author Diana Abu-Jaber who discusses growing up with an Irish-American mother and a Jordanian father who never felt at home in the US, the lively tensions between cultures, and the centrality of this to her writing.  We discuss her two memoirs, "The Language of Baklava" and "Life Without a Recipe." She describes the impact her father and grandmother had on her life and how their contrasting personalities were reflected in their approaches to food: Diana's father was a passionate and improvisational cook, while her grandmother was a precise baker.  Abu-Jaber discusses the challenges of writing memoirs, the emotional risks involved in sharing personal stories, and how she navigated the difficult topic of her larger-than-life's father's death.  We turn to a discussion of her latest novel, "Fencing with the King," and Diana reveals that the story was inspired by her father's experience of fencing with King Hussein of Jordan and her family's history of displacement. Diana reflects on the growth of Arab-American literature and the increasing prominence of Arab-American writers in contemporary culture.  We also discuss the similarities between cooking and writing and how food, like literature, can serve as a bridge between cultures

Dr. Chuck Herring | Ezekiel 37:1-14Interesting things happen in cemeteries.  Tonight, I want us to take a trip with the prophet Ezekiel to a very unusual one to say the least.  Keep in mind that He is writing to God's covenant people who are in exile in Babylon.  They've been there for several years, and they are incredibly discouraged even bordering on sheer hopelessness (37:11).  Is there a future for Israel?  Some say, “No, for all these OT prophecies must be applied spiritually to the church.”  Wait.  These prophecies are too detailed to be “spiritualized” and applied only to the church today.  Jesus taught a future for the Jews (Luke 22:29-30); so did Paul (Rom. 11); and so did John (Rev. 7:4-8, 14:1-5).[1]Ezekiel 37 easily may be divided into two sections by the introductory phrases “the hand of the Lord was upon me” in v. 1 and “the word of the Lord came again to me” in v. 15.  This chapter illustrates Israel's failed past, frustrated present, and future hope.  With that in mind, let's focus on an unusual vision that has often been referred to as…1. The Valley of Dry BonesEzekiel 37:1–3… The hand of the Lord was upon me, and He brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones. 2 He caused me to pass among them round about, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley; and lo, they were very dry. 3 He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, You know.” (1) The hand of the LORD came upon me: Ezekiel's remarkable prophetic experience is not specifically called a vision, but it certainly has all the markings of a vision.  Notice how the Scripture emphasizes that “He brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD.”   (1) In the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones: This was truly Death Valley; the floor of the valley was covered with human bones. The people represented by these bones were Jews and they were not only dead; they were also disgraced.  (In the thinking of ancient Israel, an unburied corpse with exposed remains was a shocking disgrace to the dead.)  (2) They were very dry: These dry bones are not only dead; they have been dead for a long time.  When something or someone has been dead for so long, we give up hope that it will ever live again.  It was a picture of utter defeat and desolation.  What a vivid description of the Jewish people! [2](3) Can these bones live?  Here's the crux of the issue.  Can a dead and impotent nation in exile and under the control of a godless nation be resurrected and become a living, thriving kingdom once again? One might hope that a recently dead corpse might somehow be resuscitated.  However, no one hopes that scattered, detached bones might live.  Ezekiel responded to God's question the only way he could, saying “O Lord GOD, You know.”§  Ezekiel had no hope for the bones, but he did have hope in God.§  Ezekiel did not presume to know what God wanted to do with the bones.§  Ezekiel was confident that God did know.2. Speaking Life To Dead Bones.Ezekiel 37:4–6… Again He said to me, “Prophesy over these bones and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.' 5 “Thus says the Lord God to these bones, ‘Behold, I will cause breath to enter you that you may come to life. 6 ‘I will put sinews on you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin and put breath in you that you may come alive; and you will know that I am the Lord.' ” (4) Prophesy to these bones: In the previous verse, Ezekiel deliberately left the matter with God, to His power and wisdom.  In turn, God gave the prophet something to do. God commanded him to speak, to prophesy, to preach to the dry, dead bones.  By all outward observation this was a vain and foolish act. (4) O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD: Ezekiel could only preach this message by faith—faith in God's ability to do the impossible.  knew God's word had supernatural power. (5) Behold I will cause breath to enter you that you may come to life: God promised to fill the dry bones with breath—the breath of life.  (6) I will put sinews on you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin and put breath in you that you may come alive: God promised to raise the Jewish people to life again.  This was not the creation of life from nothing; it was the restoration of life to something that had been long dead. The word for “breath” means wind or spirit.  Here is a promise that God would one day give the Holy Spirit to His covenant people under the blessings of the New Covenant…Ezekiel 36:24–28… “For I will take you from the nations, gather you from all the lands and bring you into your own land. 25 “Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26 “Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 “I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances. 28 “You will live in the land that I gave to your forefathers; so you will be My people, and I will be your God. Refer to Acts 2:1-4.3. Dead Bones Assemble TogetherEzekiel 37:7–8… So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to its bone. 8 And I looked, and behold, sinews were on them, and flesh grew and skin covered them; but there was no breath in them. (7) So I prophesied as I was commanded: If Ezekiel had any doubts, he put them away and did what God commanded him to do. To human perception this proclamation of the word of God was foolish, yet Ezekiel obeyed. (7) And as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to its bone: As Ezekiel prophesied, there was first a noise among the bones, a rattling.  As he continued, the bones began to assemble themselves into skeletons. (8) And I looked, and behold, a rattling; sinews were on them, and flesh grew and skin covered them; but there was no breath in them: After the bones were assembled, muscles and tissue came upon the bones. The bones were full of activity, yet still did not yet have the breath of life in them. The reviving of the dry bones clearly happened in stages.§  Stirring of the bones.§  Assembly of the bones.§  Sinews and flesh upon the bones.§  Skin upon the tissues covering the bones.§  Awaiting the breath of God.So here were men in skin, with flesh, sinews, bones; but, they were like Adam before God breathed into him the breath of life.4. The Second Prophecy To The BreathEzekiel 37:9–10… Then He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they come to life.” ' ” 10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they came to life and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army. (9) Prophesy to the breath: The previous verse left the valley full of revived, activated bodies that yet lacked breath.  Now Ezekiel was told to call upon the breath (spirit, wind), praying the breath/spirit would come on these who were in a sense the walking dead, so that they may live. (9) Come from the four winds, O breath: In this vision, Ezekiel had already proclaimed God's word to the dead and dry bones, and had seen a remarkable work done. Yet it was not enough. There also needed to be a work by the Holy Spirit.  Spurgeon commented…First, the prophet prophesies to the bones – here is preaching; and next, he prophesies to the four winds – here is praying. The preaching has its share in the work, but it is the praying which achieves the result, for after he had prophesied to the four winds, and not before, the bones began to live.(10) So I prophesied as He commanded me: Perhaps this was, humanly speaking, an easier message for Ezekiel to preach. He had the encouragement of seeing the beginning of a supernatural work with the activation of the dry bones. Now he prophesied and prayed for the work to be completed. (10) And the breath came into them and they came to life and stood on their feet: After Ezekiel's faithful proclamation of God's message, the work of reviving the dry bones was completed. The breath of God came into the reanimated bodies, and they stood upon their feet. (10) An exceedingly great army: The bones were not revived to become a group of spectators or to live for their own comfort. They became an army, and an exceedingly great one. They lived to act under the orders of the one who gave them life. How do these bones live again?  Derek Thomas said that God uses three means to accomplish His purpose. The preaching of the WordEzekiel is told to ‘prophesy' (37:4; literally: ‘preach God's Word'), and he does as he is told (37:7).The prayer of God's servantGod urges Ezekiel to call upon the ‘breath' to come and breathe into the slain (37:9).The power of the Holy SpiritThese are the ingredients of any great work of God.5. God Explains The VisionEzekiel 37:11… Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel; behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope has perished. We are completely cut off.'” Okay, what does all this mean?  As our Lord and God often does, He explains what He means for us to understand about His Word. These bones are the whole house of Israel: We might have supposed that Ezekiel understood that the bones in his vision represented the exiled people from Judah.  It might have surprised him when God revealed they represented the whole house of Israel. The restoration would include those from the northern kingdom of Israel that fell to the Assyrians some 150 years earlier. Our bones are dried up, our hope has perished. We are completely cut off: The house of Israel had reason to say this, both those from the south and the north. Their only hope for life and restoration was God.Ezekiel 37:12… “Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I will open your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, My people; and I will bring you into the land of Israel.” Behold, I will open your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, My people: Instead of the bones being exposed, here they are buried in graves. The effect is the same; life is brought to that which was dead. And I will Bring you into the land of Israel: As promised many times in other places (Ezekiel 36:24 and 36:28), this revival of Israel also included their restoration to the land.  This is a political and a spiritual restoration!Ezekiel 37:13… “Then you will know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves and caused you to come up out of your graves, My people.” Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves and caused you to come out of your graves, My people: God would powerfully reveal Himself to Israel through this great work of revival and restoration to the land.Ezekiel 37:14… “I will put My Spirit within you and you will come to life, and I will place you on your own land. Then you will know that I, the Lord, have spoken and done it,” declares the Lord.' ” I will put My Spirit within you and you will come to life, and I will place you on your own land:breath in the revived bones was more than the breath of human life; it was the Spirit of the living God. This is another way of expressing the great promise found in the previous chapter (Ezekiel 36:27).In verses 11 to 14, I want you to see three promises from God…(1) He's will restore them to the land.  (2) He will reverse their spiritual death with resurrection life. (3) He will put the Holy Spirit Himself within them.Undeniably, Ezekiel 37:1-14 is about God's promised restoration of Israel in the last days.  This pictures the future revival of the nation, when the Jews will be brought up out of the “graves” of the Gentile nations where they have been scattered.  Politically, this took place May 14, 1948, when the modern nation of Israel entered the family of nations again. Of course, the nation is dead spiritually; but one day when Christ returns, the nation will be born in a day and be saved.[3]APPENDIX15 Facts About Palestine: 1. Palestine was NOT an Arab nation in 1948 when Israel was created. The Jewish people did not take over someone else's country. 1.      Great Britain, in fact, controlled that region of the Middle East until she grew tired of governing the volatile area and asked the UN to decide what to do with it.2.      Before Great Britain was tasked with administrating the region after WWI, the Turks had controlled it since the early 1500s. Turks are not Arabs.3.      In fact, Palestine has never been the name of any country! 2. Where did the name "Palestine" come from?” 1.      The Romans!2.      In an effort to rid Judea of its Jewishness, the Romans renamed the area Filistia (Palestine) in the mid-130s CE. They were tired of pesky Jewish uprisings (70 CE, 132 CE) and so decided to deport the Jews and change the name. The name came from the ancient Philistines, who have no connection to present-day Arabs. The Philistines were wiped out in 600 BCE by the Babylonians.3.      It was a region and never a nation. There has never been a president of the state of Palestine or a government. It could be compared to New England, which is a region in America and has no government.4.      Furthermore, the region of Palestine never had any connection with an Arab ethnicity.  3. The UN Partition Vote (Nov. 29, 1947) did not merely give Israel authority to create a state, but granted the Arabs living on the West side of the Jordan River also to create an independent Arab country next to Israel. 1.      The Arabs rejected "Partition." They could have had their own nation in 1948, but they said no.2.      The Jews accepted "Partition," and on May 14th, 1948, Israel was re-birthed.3.      The Arabs in the West Bank became part of Jordan, and in Gaza, they became part of Egypt.4.      The Arabs declared war on Israel the day after the UN vote. Five Arab nations, plus the local population, attacked the new Jewish state and lost. 5.      Again, they could have had peace and their own Arab nation but chose war.5.  When the PLO was created, Jordan controlled the West Bank. 1.      The goal of the PLO was to liberate Palestine. However, the West Bank was already in Arab hands. Jordan controlled it. And Egypt controlled Gaza.2.      The "Palestine" they wanted to liberate was Israel proper.3.      In other words, if their goal was to create an independent Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza, then they should've been fighting Jordan and Egypt, not Israel!4.      Of course, their goal was Israel's complete demise. Its original charter called for the liberation of all Palestine. Their maps make no mention of Israel.5. Before Israel was re-birthed in 1948, any person who lived in that region was considered Palestinian: Arab or Jew. The Jewish-owned newspaper was called the Palestine Post. QUESTIONS:1.              Why would any Jew name his newspaper after another people group?2.              Why would any Jew name his paper after an Arab country?Of course, he would not. The word "Palestinian" never referred to an Arab ethnic group—remember, it came from the Romans. It was an invented narrative. That is why former US Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich referred to the Palestinians as an "invented people." (NOTE: That does not mean that they are bad people. Each one of them was made in the image of God. We're not talking here about their value, which is great before God, but history.)6. Jerusalem was the capital of Israel under King David. It has never been the capital of any other country—including Palestine. It has never (until Israel controlled it) been significant to Arabs. 1.      In other words, you will not find these words in the Koran but in the Hebrew Bible: If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy. (Ps. 137: 5-6)2.      The Ottoman Empire ruled over Jerusalem for 400 years. It meant nothing to them, even though they were Muslims.3.      When Mark Twain visited Palestine under Turkish rule he wrote that it was a "desolate country whose soil is rich enough, but is given over wholly to weeds...a silent mournful expanse...We never saw a human being on the whole route. There was hardly a tree or a shrub anywhere. Even the olive and the cactus, those fast friends of the worthless soil, had almost deserted the country." 4.      It only became important to the Arab and Islamic world, after the Jewish people began to return and redeem the land. 5.      It should be noted that the Jews purchased the land and did not steal it. How could they? They were under Turkish rule. They started the Jewish National Fund and lawfully purchased land in Palestine. In 1919, there were approximately 500,000 Arabs in what is now called Israel. That number mushroomed to about 1.3 million by the time Israel declared independence. In other words, over those 30 years (1919-1948) well over half of the Arabs in Palestine were not born in Palestine. They came as immigrants from all over the Middle East because of the economic opportunities that the Jewish pioneers were creating as they were clearing the land and establishing farms. Once again, this proves that there is no long history of Palestinian culture and that they are just after the city. 7. When Israel captured Jerusalem in 1967, it was not from Palestinians but from Jordan. QUESTIONS:1.      Why didn't Palestinians demand Jerusalem when Jordan controlled it (1948-1967)?2.      Why didn't the Jordanians create an independent Palestinian state in the West Bank in 1948? It was certainly within their power. The reason is simple. Jordanians made no distinction between Arabs who lived east of the Jordan and those who lived west of the Jordan.  8. Israel had no plans to attack Jordan during the Six-Day War.  Jordan's King Hussein believed the false reports from Egyptian President Nasser of Egypt that they were winning the war against Israel. King Hussein, in hopes of getting more land, attacked Israel, and his troops were driven back over the Jordan River in a matter of days. That is how Israel ended up with Jerusalem in 1967. Taking Jerusalem was not one of the military objectives of the Six-Day War. It was a gift from Jordan. Israel sent word to the king of Jordan through the United Nations that Israel would not attack their forces if they did not enter the war. Had they heeded that advice, Jerusalem would still be part of Jordan. 9. There is no language known as Palestinian.  Palestinian Arabs speak Arabic like Jordanians, Syrians, and Egyptians.10. There is no rich Palestinian history.  You will not find history books that detail Palestinian culture going back centuries.11. Palestinians are Arabs, indistinguishable from Jordanians, Lebanese, Egyptians, Iraqis, and others. I want to continue to be clear. There is nothing wrong with being Arab. We are not arguing any type of racial superiority. That is not of God. We love the Arab peoples and want their best. We are simply making the point that there is no Palestinian Arab ethnicity or history.12. Most of the Arab countries in the Middle East are relatively new. 1.      Jordan was created in 1922 by Great Britain. They took 80% of ancient Palestine and created Transjordan. She achieved independence in  1946.2.      The Syrians were under French control until 1946 when they became a nation.3.      Lebanon achieved independence from France in 1943.4.      Iraq became an independent nation in 1958. These were nations created after World War I from within the Turkish Ottoman Empire. None of them existed before the San Remo Conference in 1920. The purpose of this conference was to decide which Allied nations would take responsibility for the different regions of the now-defeated Ottoman Empire. 13. The total land mass of Arab states (and this doesn't even include non-Arab states in the Middle East like Iran and Turkey) is 98.4 compared to Israel's 1.6 percent. 14. When the Jewish people began to return to ‘Palestine' in the late 1800s: 1.      The Turks, not the Arabs, controlled it.2.      Every bit of land was paid for by the returning Jews—nothing was stolen! 3.      Even in 1948, when Israel declared independence, the Arabs were invited to join the new state. Many did, becoming the most liberated Arabs in the Middle East, enjoying freedoms never known in Syria, Egypt, or Saudi Arabia. (I regularly see Arab women taking driving lessons!) Israeli Arabs are the only Middle Eastern Arabs with full civil liberties like freedom of speech and religion. 4.      However, roughly 800,000 Arabs fled Israel, assuming that the five Arab nations would crush the new Jewish state. The gamble didn't pay off, and they became refugees. 5.      The Arab nations did nothing to help integrate the refugees into their society but kept them in refugee camps until today. 15. Israel was a swamp-infested wasteland that no one, including the Arabs, really cared about.  Until the Jews returned, the land suffered neglect. It was only after the Jews came back and made the land prosperous and fruitful again that the Palestinian Arab narrative was invented. The Religious Significance of Jerusalem Jerusalem or Zion appears nearly one thousand times in the Hebrew Bible and New Testament, whereas it never appears in the Koran.  Again, this is about history, not about any type of superiority or racism against Arabs. God loves the Arabs and made them to love him. He also loves the Jewish people and will not ignore the covenant he made with Abraham and confirmed with Isaac and Jacob.[1] Warren W. http://pedophilesdownunder.com/Fiona Barnett 'Candy Girl" : Satanic Ritual Abuse Survivor / Anthony Kidman AccuserFiona Rae Holowczak was born October 28, 1969, in Sydney, Australia. The surname Holowczak belonged to the man her parents believed to be her paternal grandfather. When Fiona was 15 years of age, her true paternal grandfather was located in Jelenia Gora, Poland. Fiona and her six younger siblings subsequently had new birth certificates issued featuring their actual surname – Rylko.Fiona underwent another name change after marrying Englishman Jon Barnett. The couple reside with their two exceptional children on Australia's far northern New South Wales coast. Jon is a blood relative to Toni Gardiner, the mother of King Hussein of Jordan.Fiona is academic by nature and has spent too many years compensating for her poor public school education. She has studied visual arts, education, art therapy and psychology at a tertiary level. In 2010, Fiona had almost completed a masters in forensic psychology at a private Gold Coast university, when certain staff targeted her for removal from the psychology industry. This attack immediately followed her adherence to mandatory reporting legislation regarding disclosure of child abuse allegations by a client in the Bond University Psychology Clinic. This attack was one of many endured since escaping her childhood perpetrators. Bond University staff conspired to mislead authorities regarding Fiona's age at the time of her child abuse experiences. They reported her as an adult perpetrator, instead of a child victim of the crimes she experienced, to the Queensland Police and Psychology Board. Select staff within these government organisations then collaborated with Bond University to destroy Fiona's chosen profession. They also targeted her physical safety. This pinnacle attack on Fiona's life triggered a chain of events that led to the existence of the Pedophiles Down Under website. Tired of the constant threats to her family's safety, and incessant sabotage of her efforts to participate normally in Australian society, Fiona realised she had no choice but to go public. In 2013, Fiona provided witness testimony to the Australian Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Abuse. She simultaneously participated in mainstream media interviews and published a series of articles in a popular Australian online news journal. Fiona's public disclosure led to other Australian victims coming forward and requesting assistance and exposure for their experiences. Her official complaint against key perpetrator, and high profile Australian psychologist, Dr Antony Kidman immediately preceded his mysterious death in Singapore and attracted global attention.Fiona has since relinquished any desire for acceptance or recognition within mainstream Australian society. She is currently studying law for the purpose of keeping her hungry brain satiated, and to better understand her legal rights and options in the face of perpetual threat and harassment from those who misuse their power and authority to maintain the VIP pedophile network's agenda.Yes – Fiona is ‘just an attention seeker.' She seeks to draw the public's attention to the true nature and extent of child sex trafficking within Australian society. This criminal industry depends on the clandestine support and involvement of representatives from all aspects of Australian government including legal, health and educational. No – Fiona is ‘not normal.' Comprehensive testing has consistently shown her cognitive ability to fall within the far right tail on the normal distribution curve. Her brain has unusual physical structure and function; it is denser and more interconnected. This permits Fiona to perceive patterns and relationships between seemingly unrelated bits of information. It allows her to think in a highly abstract and unconventional manner, to predict human reactions long before they happen, and to notice things others simply don't. This unique capacity tends to unnerve observers, when it is simply the product of an unusually fast brain.Fiona's cognitive make-up also gives her a rare sense of empathy – the ability to place herself in other peoples' shoes. This is why Fiona, while busy processing her own horror memories plus managing the constant barrage of physical attacks on her young family, musters the time and energy to help others. Her advocacy efforts were well demonstrated in the Gold Coast Hogtie Doctor caseThis show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/1198501/advertisement

GB2RS News Sunday the 18th of June 2023 The news headlines: His late Majesty, King Hussein of Jordan's UK amateur radio equipment Coding and amateur radio RSGB Convention 2022 presentations   The Radio Society of Great Britain is delighted to announce that Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan has chosen to donate the UK amateur radio equipment of His late Majesty, King Hussein of Jordan to the Society. His Majesty was a great ambassador for amateur radio and, whenever his official duties allowed him, his radio callsign JY1 could be heard on the amateur bands. His Majesty always operated modestly, never announcing himself as King Hussein, always just ‘Hussein from Jordan'. A permanent display is being organised at the RSGB National Radio Centre so that the equipment can be used to help inspire people to get involved in amateur radio and promote communication, friendship and understanding throughout the many countries and cultures of the world. The RSGB extends its thanks to Her Majesty for this generous donation. National Coding Week has been run for many years in the third week of September. Coding is used increasingly in amateur radio, and the BBC Micro:bit and the Arduino have made it easier for radio amateurs of all ages to discover more about this. As part of its commitment to encourage youngsters into amateur radio and to support lifelong learning, the RSGB will be providing resources and creating coding activities for people to get involved in throughout the month of September. The Society is keen to hear from volunteers who have ideas for this initiative and would like to be part of it. Further details will follow but, if you're interested, in the first instance please contact Exam and Syllabus Review Group member John Hislop, G7OHO via g7oho@rsgb.org.uk The RSGB has released two further Convention 2022 presentations. In the first, Noel Matthews, G8GTZ provides an introduction to the challenges of operating on 122GHz and gives an overview of the VK3CV-designed transverter boards which have put operation within the reach of amateurs without requiring advanced electronic and mechanical engineering skills. He tells the story of how he and Dave, G1EHF used the boards to work up from their first QSO over 2km to breaking the UK record for 122GHz at 36.5kms. Secondly, in a presentation called “HF propagation – what do the numbers mean?” RSGB Propagation Studies Committee Chair Steve Nichols, G0KYA unravels what terms such as Solar flux index, SSN, A and K index, and Solar Wind Speed mean and explains how to find the best HF conditions. You can watch both on the RSGB YouTube channel at youtube.com/theRSGB After serving for nine years, the RSGB Trophy Manager is retiring and the Society is looking for a new volunteer for this role. Using all modes on 5.7 and 10GHz frequencies, the exchange is signal report, serial number and locator.  Now the radio propagation report, compiled by G0KYA, G3YLA, and G4BAO on Thursday the 15th of June 2023 We had another week of sound HF propagation, helped by relatively quiet geomagnetic conditions, a lack of bad solar flares, and some good multi-hop Sporadic-E openings. The Kp index never rose above three and was mostly ones and twos. This was no doubt helped by no M-class or higher solar flares and no Earth-directed coronal mass ejections. A large filament did break away from the Sun on the 12th of June, but luckily it was directed away from Earth. The solar flux index declined to the mid-140s after reaching 172 on the 6th of June. Paul, GM4ULS sent in an impressive log of 10m SSB contacts with Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. These were mostly during the late afternoon although Paul says the openings often started around noon. F2-layer propagation was the first thought, but closer analysis suggests that these were more likely to be multi-hop Sporadic-E. If these contacts die out as we progress through the summer that should confirm that they were multi-hop Sporadic-E. Paul does have one tip. He listens to 27.555MHz, which is the SSB CB calling frequency. If he hears activity there he then fires up on the 10m band. Other DX this week has included VP6A on Ducie Island in the South Pacific. This DXpedition should be active until the 26th of June, so there is still plenty of time to work them. 8Q7KB in the Maldives should also be on until the 21st of June. Next week, the Space Weather Prediction Centre thinks the Solar Flux Index will start the week at around 150, rising to 170 as the week progresses. After a geomagnetic disturbance this weekend that may see the Kp index rise to four, and is likely caused by a coronal hole on the Sun's surface, we may expect quieter conditions next week with a maximum Kp index of two.   And now the VHF and up propagation news There has been some excellent Sporadic-E and super Tropo propagation during recent UK Activity Contest events. This is high-season for Sporadic-E, so it's worth a few notes to sharpen your DX potential. There are often two main 'windows' of activity: mid-morning and late afternoon or early evening. For early risers, there can be a surprise ‘window' of activity around 0600 to 0700UTC on some days and this is particularly useful for paths across the pole to Japan and the Pacific. The tendency is for openings to migrate westwards. Paths across Eastern Europe will be replaced by new paths to Italy or even Iberia as the particular event ‘window' migrates west. In this peak season the Sporadic-E operating ‘windows' may almost merge into one continuous activity period, especially on the lower bands such as 10m and 6m. As paths to Portugal fade, the new cycle may be starting with paths to Scandinavia and the Baltic. Multi-hop paths will be weaker than single-hop, and often more fleeting due to the complex geometry required, making the slower data modes frustrating. Add this to frequency spreading, and sometimes slick, fast CW can be the best mode if you can find the activity. The prolonged high pressure has provided some very good Tropo paths, particularly across the North Sea to Scandinavia. This may not be so reliable in the coming week as low-pressure moves in and offers heavy thundery showers as a source of rain scatter for GHz operators.  Meteor scatter and aurora are always possible, but Sporadic-E will probably be too much of a distraction. Sunday sees peak Moon declination but with apogee this coming Thursday, path losses will be at their highest.  144MHz sky noise is moderate until Saturday afternoon when the Sun and Moon are very close in the sky, spoiling the weekend for VHF EME. This “close to eclipse” condition persists until Sunday night after which noise levels are low to moderate for the rest of the week. And that's all from the propagation team this week.

Diana Abu-Jaber's family has deep roots in Jordan. Her father came to America after a failed marriage proposal — an act of “revenge immigration,” she laughs. And while he lived in the U.S., married here and raised a family here, his never truly left his homeland behind. Growing up in a thoroughly Jordanian household within an American context shaped Abu-Jaber's life. She traveled to Jordan with her family and was often startled to discover hidden aspects to her father during her visits. It was this mix of identity and heritage, of belonging to a culture or land that one can no longer possess, that inspired her latest novel, “Fencing with the King” — so named because she learned, later in life, that her father was once a favorite sparring partner with the king of Jordan. “It's like he had a before and after life,” she tells MPR News host Kerri Miller on this week's Big Books and Bold Ideas. “Dad was trained to spar with King Hussein, and this was something he never talked about when we were growing up. I didn't even know he knew how to fence until I was an adult.” Her book vividly takes readers on a journey to the modern day Middle East, where questions of displacement and reclamation, of family identity and inheritance linger. Join Abu-Jaber and Miller for a conversation about homeland, myths and legacy on this week's Big Books and Bold Ideas. Guest: Diana Abu-Jaber is an award-winning author and a professor at Portland State University. Her latest book, “Fencing with the King,” was just released in paperback. In this episode we travel the world with Henry Kissinger and Richard Nixon.  Here we see one last triumph for the President who brought peace to millions. He first visits France to restore good relations in Europe which had felt long neglected by its American ally as we had been bogged down in Vietnam for over a decade. While President Nixon was busy there his confidant , Dr. Henry Kissinger, was shuttling through out the Middle East working to bring a stalemated conflict between Israel and two of its Arab neighbors to an end. It was called shuttle diplomacy and it was during this time that the term peace process was coined.  We will tune in to the era with contemporary news reports from the time and we will hear from several of those intimately involved in these moments of high drama. Then we will join Richard Nixon in his final triumphant visits to a Middle East he had brought balance and peace to in this tumultuous era. He was greeted, much to the shock of the American press corp, to a heroes welcome everywhere he went from a train ride across Egypt, to Saudi Arabia, and Syria to a thanks filled event in Israel as he was proclaimed the statesman of the age and thanked for his role in saving the nation by the leader of Israel himself. Then after a brief stay at home, Richard Nixon took off again to meet Leonid Brezhnev in Moscow. There they would sign an economic agreement, limit missile sights, and lower the number of nuclear missiles, but as the effort to topple the administration at home was gaining momentum, the Soviets decided to play hard ball as they sensed Nixon's power was fading. So while the summit was a success it would also become the first "What might have been" of what would become long list of them, as the United States would force the greatest leader it had produced so far in the last half of the 20th century from office. And this show will leave you with a question for the ages...... GB2RS News Sunday the 3rd of April 2022   The news headlines: Transatlantic tests and Paul Godley lecture Volunteers sought for the NRC MSF signals closed for maintenance   As most listeners will already know, Paul Godley was sent over from the USA 100 years ago to conduct the transatlantic tests. Those tests opened up the era of short-wave radio communication. But why Paul Godley? Who was he, why was he chosen and what happened next? On Thursday the 7th of April, all those questions will be answered in an open Zoom talk by Godley's grandson, Bruce Littlefield. The Zoom meeting will be hosted by Wigtownshire ARC in South West Scotland and will begin at 1900UTC. Everyone is invited, subject to a limit of 100, and joining details will be published closer to the meeting date at www.gm4riv.org. The RSGB National Radio Centre welcomes thousands of people through its doors each month and introduces them to amateur radio. The Society needs to expand the team of volunteers and is particularly looking for people who can be part of the team each Thursday. If you are interested in becoming an NRC volunteer you should enjoy meeting people and be prepared to work a minimum of one, preferably two, days per month. Full training is given. Please email NRC Coordinator Martyn Baker, G0GMB for further information via nrc.support@rsgb.org.uk. A scheduled annual maintenance shutdown of the MSF 60kHz Radio Time Signal service is planned. It will allow safe working on the masts and antennas. The service will be off-air from 0700 to 1700UTC each day between the 4th and 21st of April. The transmission will be restored overnight whenever possible. A radio-controlled clock will not be able to pick up the MSF signal during these periods, so may drift off from the correct time. There have been recently a number of reports of individual holders of UK Amateur licences gaining Innovation and Trial licences from Ofcom. This is to conduct experimental transmissions on 40MHz or the 8m band. The RSGB has asked Ofcom for guidance concerning the status and possible contacts with such stations. Ofcom's view is very clear. Any operation on 40MHz in the UK is not Amateur radio and therefore cross-band contacts to such stations by UK radio Amateurs operating on the bands licenced for amateur radio are not permitted. You can read the full statement from Ofcom in the RSGB Notices part of the RSGB website at rsgb.org.uk. The RSGB is looking for a Convention Chair to lead the team of people who will create this year's Convention. If you understand the advantages of both online and in-person events and can contribute ideas for speakers and topics that will attract both audiences, this could be the role for you. For a full role description look on the volunteer vacancy page of the RSGB website at rsgb.org/volunteers. BBC journalist and long-time RSGB Member Laurie Margolis, G3UML broke the fact of the invasion of the Falklands through amateur radio. On Monday the 4th of April, he will share how that happened in the RSGB's free Tonight@8 webinar. He will also cover his involvement in the 1970 King Hussein story. Watch and ask questions live on the RSGB YouTube channel or special BATC stream. Find out more about this and the Society's other webinars via rsgb.org/webinars On the 18th of April, radio amateurs worldwide take to the airwaves in celebration of World Amateur Radio Day. It was on this day in 1925 that the International Amateur Radio Union was formed in Paris. You can read more about the event, download posters and other publicity material for any special event station you may be planning from iaru.org.   And now for details of rallies and events Please send your rally and event news as soon as possible to radcom@rsgb.org.uk. We'll publicise your event in RadCom, on GB2RS, and online. The 36th QRP Convention will be held on the 9th of April in Digby Hall, Sherborne DT9 3AA. Doors open at 9.30 am and entry is £3. There are no lectures this year. Please note that car parking charges apply. Four contests are scheduled to take place next Sunday, the 10th of April. The Spring 50MHz contest takes place between 0900 and 1200UTC. Using all modes, the exchange is signal report, serial number and locator. Next is the UK Microwave group Low Band contest running between 1000 and 1600UTC. Using all modes on the 1.3 to 3.4GHz bands, the exchange is signal report, serial number and locator. The Worked All Britain data contest runs from 1000 to 1400UTC and from 1700 to 2100UTC. Using the 3.5 to 14MHz bands where contests are permitted, the exchange is signal report, serial number and your WAB reference. Finally, the RoLo SSB contest runs between 1900 and 2030UTC. Using SSB on the 3.5MHz band, the exchange is the signal report and the locator you received.   Now the radio propagation report, compiled by G0KYA, G3YLA, and G4BAO on Friday the 1st of April 2022. Last week we said there was a sense of excitement as it looked like the solar flux index would increase. But even NOAA didn't predict that it would rise to 156, which it hit on Monday the 28th. Unfortunately, along with high sunspot numbers, we have had unsettled geomagnetic conditions. On Sunday and Monday last week, the Kp index hit four, due to the predicted coronal hole issues. By Thursday the 31st, the effects of an M4/M1 coronal mass ejection event from the 28th of March were being felt. This CME resulted from a pair of sunspots, which combined into one larger shock front. The solar wind speed was above 500km/s and the Bz component of the interplanetary magnetic field shifted south meaning it coupled more easily with the Earth's magnetic field, pushing the Kp index to five with warnings for middle to high latitude aurora happening. If this wasn't enough, we have had a number of solar flares to contend with, including an X1.3 event from active region AR 2975 peaking at 1737UTC on Wednesday the 30th of March. This will likely result in a CME coming our way. All this has had numerous effects on HF, from fadeouts from the flares to pre-auroral enhancements from the CMEs and good conditions on 10 metres thanks to the high SFI. A high f0F2 critical frequency has also meant that 40 metres has been open to inter-G signals at times. We are now well and truly in a period where it is getting difficult to predict what will happen next. NOAA predicts that the SFI will remain above 120 for the next few days and then decline into the teens. We think the best advice is to keep an eye on solarham.net and watch out for news of CMEs leaving the Sun. Expect unsettled conditions around 48 hours after news of any CME. But the best advice overall is just get on the bands and work DX whenever you can! We can often expect MUFs to exceed 28MHz at times so make the most of 10 metres when you can, for example, John, G4BAO reports 10m was wide open to Asia on Thursday morning.   And now the VHF and up propagation news. Next week offers a change of wind direction from northerly to westerly with the glimmer of hope for high pressure after the weekend, but it's only a partial nod towards tropo with just a weak, temporary ridge extending across the southern UK from the Azores high. The next items worth mentioning are as in last week's bulletin; keep your ears and eyes open for aurora, after a promising end to the last week as we write this with fluttery signals on 80m, you should have sorted out some favourite beacons to listen out for. Also, the early mornings can be good for random meteor scatter activity. As we roll over into April we are getting a bit closer to the 2022 Sporadic-E season. There have been some isolated examples on 10m CW/SSB and 6m on data modes, so it's time to start checking the position of jet streams and EPI on the Propquest.co.uk website. The end of last week favoured paths to the south into Spain across a northwesterly jet stream over the Pyrenees and Cantabrian mountains, whereas next week it looks like paths to Scandinavia might be worth a look, although probably a lower probability for these more northern latitudes. Moon declination is positive all week reaching maximum on Friday, so Moon windows and peak Moon elevation will be high. We are past perigee so path losses will increase throughout the week. 144MHz Sky noise is low all week, briefly hitting 500K on Thursday. And that's all from the propagation team this week.

Ronald Heifetz is among the world's foremost authorities on the practice and teaching of leadership. He speaks extensively and advises heads of governments, businesses, and nonprofit organizations across the globe. In 2016, President Juan Manuel Santos of Colombia highlighted Heifetz's advice in his Nobel Peace Prize Lecture.Heifetz founded the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard Kennedy School where he has taught for nearly four decades. He is the King Hussein bin Talal Senior Lecturer in Public Leadership. His research addresses two challenges: developing a conceptual foundation for the analysis and practice of leadership; and developing transformative methods for leadership education, training, and consultation. Heifetz co-developed the adaptive leadership framework with Riley Sinder and Marty Linsky to provide a basis for leadership research and practice. His first book, Leadership Without Easy Answers (1994), is a classic in the field and one of the ten most assigned course books at Harvard and Duke Universities.  Heifetz co-authored the best-selling Leadership on the Line: Staying Alive through the Dangers of Change with Marty Linsky, which serves as one of the primary go-to books for practitioners across sectors (2002, revised 2017).  He then co-authored the field book, The Practice of Adaptive Leadership: Tools and Tactics for Changing your Organization and the World with Alexander Grashow and Marty Linsky (2009). His teaching methods have been studied extensively in doctoral dissertations and in Leadership Can Be Taught, by Sharon Daloz Parks (2005).A graduate of Columbia University, Harvard Medical School, and the Kennedy School, Heifetz is both a physician and cellist. He trained initially in surgery before deciding to devote himself to the study of leadership in public affairs, business, and nonprofits. Heifetz completed his medical training in psychiatry, which provided a foundation to develop more powerful teaching methods and gave him a distinct perspective on the conceptual tools of political psychology and organizational behavior. As a cellist, he was privileged to study with the great Russian virtuoso, Gregor Piatigorsky. A Quote From This EpisodeRegrading Case-in-Point methodology - "I do try to keep it safe enough, but not completely safe. When King Hussein ascended to the throne at the age of sixteen, he dedicated his life to building a peaceful and prosperous Jordan. His reign was far from simple, however—he faced multiple wars abroad, a civil war at home, assassination attempts, and diplomatic crises. Throughout this tumultuous period, he maintained one secret connection that would only be made official years later: his relationship with Israel. The peace treaty signed by the two countries has endured for over twenty-five years and has been an important force for stability in the region. Join David Makovsky for conversations with two guests who knew the king personally: his brother Prince Hassan bin Talal, and Israel’s former Mossad director Efraim Halevy, who was integral to negotiating the bilateral peace. The episode features some never-before-heard revelations about Jordanian-Israeli relations. Washington Institute Director Rob Satloff frames the discussion and provides historical perspective. "In a given year, only about 20% of the respiratory illnesses that we see are actually caused by influenza. 80% are caused largely by other viral pathogens." Infectious disease expert Dr. Michael Osterholm joins Daniel for a frank assessment of where we are, at the beginning of October, as we as a country and world continue to navigate the torrid waters of the COVID-19 pandemic. Daniel gets the expert doctor, not exactly known for his optimism, to paint us a picture: How have we done at mitigation? What really is the science and effectiveness behind mask wearing? Can indoor air be trusted? When can we go back to the concert hall? This episode is a must-hear-- a sobering picture of where we are and what we need to do in the coming months. Dr. Osterholm is Regents Professor, McKnight Presidential Endowed Chair in Public Health, the director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP), Distinguished Teaching Professor in the Division of Environmental Health Sciences, School of Public Health, a professor in the Technological Leadership Institute, College of Science and Engineering, and an adjunct professor in the Medical School, all at the University of Minnesota. From June 2018 through May 2019, he served as a Science Envoy for Health Security on behalf of the US Department of State. He is the author of the New York Times best-selling 2017 book, Deadliest Enemy: Our War Against Killer Germs, in which he not only details the most pressing infectious disease threats of our day but lays out a nine-point strategy on how to address them, with preventing a global flu pandemic at the top of the list. In addition, Dr. Osterholm is a member of the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) and the Council of Foreign Relations. In June 2005 Dr. Osterholm was appointed by Michael Leavitt, Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), to the newly established National Science Advisory Board on Biosecurity. In July 2008, he was named to the University of Minnesota Academic Health Center’s Academy of Excellence in Health Research. In October 2008, he was appointed to the World Economic Forum Working Group on Pandemics. Dr. Osterholm has also been an international leader on the growing concern regarding the use of biological agents as catastrophic weapons targeting civilian populations. In that role, he served as a personal advisor to the late King Hussein of Jordan. Dr. Osterholm provides a comprehensive and pointed review of America's current state of preparedness for a bioterrorism attack in his New York Times best-selling book, Living Terrors: What America Needs to Know to Survive the Coming Bioterrorist Catastrophe. -------------------------------------- Please consider supporting Talking Beats with Daniel Lelchuk via our Patreon: patreon.com/talkingbeats In addition to early episode access, bonus episodes, and other benefits, you will contribute to us being able to present the highest quality substantive, long-form interviews with the world's most compelling people. But in a private conversation years earlier, King Hussein told Robert Satloff in confidence of his plans to return Abdullah to the line of succession, and the deeply personal reasons why. Long sworn to secrecy, Satloff can now tell the story of how a royal father’s heartache changed the course of a kingdom. Caroline Tautz has played a pivotal role in bringing Arabic news and media content on a digital platform to the Middle East. In 2001, Caroline was asked to set up the first Arabic news service for CNN in the Gulf. Fluent in both Arabic and English, she was in charge of overseeing the launch of the CNN Arabic site and for covering news stories during a time of great regional upheaval. Caroline was the editor-in-chief for CNN Arabic services during a period of the US-led invasion of Iraq, the Arab spring, and the rise of the Islamist militant group ISIS.   In 2015, CNN appointed Caroline as Vice President of Arabic Services, and Rani R. Raad Chief Commercial Officer for CNN International stated, “Our continued investment under Caroline’s leadership in CNN Arabic reflects the strength of our aspirations for this region.” Today as the Dubai Chief Operations Director, Caroline continues to grow the CNN Arabic brand and build its operation in the region. In this episode, Caroline opens up for the very first time about how her career ambition became a reality. Caroline grew up in Jordan at a time when her community favored men over women. But fortunately for Caroline, her grandfather gave her the opportunities to sit in high ranking tribal meetings, ask questions, and join a children’s TV station.  When it was time for college, he paved the way for her to pursue journalism. Upon receiving a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications from Yarmouk University in Jordan, Caroline started working as a political reporter for Al Ra’i – the leading Arabic daily newspaper in Jordan. In 1990, Caroline represented the Jordanian delegation in Washington D.C. to cover the Arab-Israeli peace process, and as a journalist, found herself in the middle of a political situation beyond her control; she was viewed as a traitor to her country under the leadership of King Hussein. Caroline’s brother encouraged her to turn to her faith; and for the first time, Caroline realized there was a King who was above all kings in this world. And when the dust settled, Caroline was not only cleared from the situation, but continued to thrive in her role as a journalist and in her relationship with the Jordanian Royal Palace. Caroline shares how she got the opportunity to work for CNN, and how her faith has shaped the way she now looks at her work.   Follow Caroline on her social media. The country is not really desert whilst being part of the Arabian Peninsula, with a terrain that offers some of the most astonishing beaches and coves that eyes could see. Less than few miles in-land and you can delight at the sight of proudly erected mountains and rugged terrains that stretch for miles on end. The country is not populated by a strictly Bedouin-like society but still camels are herded for labor as well as for commerce (especially for racing since the country produces the best kind ever). Tribal ties remain strong especially in the mountainous or Jebeli areas, and pride, which comes with the territory, runs very deep. The country has embraced Islam since the early times of the holy message, but it does not fall within the dichotomy of Sunnis and Shias. Rather, it follows a milder form of the Ibadi religion that rejects warfare in the name of God and uses dignity and persuasion to get its point across. Furthermore, it has been home to migrant Hindus and -at one time- to thriving Jewish communities and has many churches, temples and Jewish landmarks especially the Tomb of Job located some 45 miles away from the port city of Salalah. The country is no democracy or parliamentary republic rather it is an absolute monarchy whose supreme sovereign, the Sultan of Oman Qaboos Bin Said Al Said, has reigned since 1970. However, the whimsical, capricious, despotic, erratic, unstable, shifting, and many other peculiarities -or defects- of monarchies from Burma to Buckingham, have been vividly absent or at least significantly tamed in this oasis of stability. The Sultan of Oman deposed his father in 1970 in a bloodless coup, save for the father having reportedly shot himself in the foot. This fact, if at all true, would be both anecdotal and telling about a casualty-free removal of a sitting monarch. The deposed Sultan then spent the rest of his days not locked-up in a donjon but at the Dorchester Hotel, in London. The United Kingdom saw the previous ruler as impermeable to modernity and hermetically closed to the outside world and in part to their oil-exploration interests. They backed the son in his bid for power and became the armed force behind the throne, for decades. The new Sultan's first order of priority was ending the Dhofar Rebellion (1962 to 1979) by offering amnesty to all those who had fought against his father. He then integrated Dhofar into Oman ending a distinction that had exacerbated rifts and secessionist ambitions. With the help of the British corps of engineers he launched a reconstruction campaign in the most destitute areas building schools and hospitals and digging wells. These gestures of good will were nonetheless accompanied by a resolute will to fight the Adoo (or enemy) in the rebellious province. Rebels took orders from their political bases in Yemen, backed by Maoist China and the Soviet Union. The Sultan's diplomatic maneuvering to recognize Oman as a full-member Arab State helped rein-in the territorial ambitions of neighbors, and denied the rebels official recognition, if not sanctuary. The harshly fought counterinsurgency was led by Omani Firqats trained and assisted by British officers, SAS elite force specialists, and the RAF, but also by the Imperial Iranian forces (under the Shah) and the Royal Jordanian troops (under King Hussein). More territory was won as more defectors from the rebels' ranks joined the Sultan' forces and were pardoned before serving under his banner. Oman has been portrayed as a neutral country, and one that does not appear to be working in tandem with its Arab neighbors or partners. But the evidence points in the wrong direction. A bloody civil war is not a neutral business. When the going got tough Oman, and its ruler, fought for over a decade to quash the rebellion, unite the country and modernize the infrastructure. In fact, the asphalt roads that one sees in the remotest areas of Oman are not the result of a corrupt public works system.

In this final episode of the Conservative Conscience for 2016, Daniel lays bare the truth about the so-called Palestinian cause.  The entire historical, legal, and geographical case for why there is no such thing as a distinct Arab “Palestinian” entity entitled to any land west of the Jordan River is recounted in this long episode.    It is incontrovertibly clear from a legal and historical standpoint that Israel has just as much of a right to exist in its so-called post-1967 borders as it does in its pre-’67 borders.  It is also patently obvious that from a geographical, moral, and security standpoint that anyone advocating a two state solution is implicitly denying Israel’s right to exist in any capacity.  Israel has already surrendered 94% of the land it acquired in a defensive war against its existence – The Sinai Peninsula and Gaza.  Anyone promoting an Arab Muslim state in the remaining 6% that would gut the heart of the tiny Jewish state – especially in light of the fact that Muslims control a land mass 640 times greater than Israel – is either woefully ignorant or supports something much more sinister.    It's time to get the facts straight: there already is an Arab Palestinian state – Jordan.  The two-state solution was carved out in 1922 in the last legally recognized agreement delineating boundaries of nation states. Arabs got 77% of the Mandate for Palestine, which was all the land east of the Jordan River, while Jews got the land to the west of the river.  History doesn’t lie.     Key Quotes: "The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people." [PLO official Zahir Muhsein, interview with Dutch newspaper Trouw, March 31, 1977. "The truth is that Jordan is Palestine and Palestine is Jordan." Omar and his father were close friends of Dr. Hugh Nibley, who liked to practice his Arabic skills with Omar's dad. In this epic multi-part series, we hear several inspiring stories, including: How Omar escaped Palestine after being sent back there by his father to prevent him from marrying a Utah woman. How Dr. Hugh Nibley fought to help Omar enroll in Brigham Young University. http://pedophilesdownunder.com/Fiona Barnett 'Candy Girl" : Satanic Ritual Abuse Survivor / Anthony Kidman AccuserFiona Rae Holowczak was born October 28, 1969, in Sydney, Australia.

An Israeli diplomat says it would be possible to solve his country’s conflict with Palestinians, if that was the only thing on the table. Consul General of Israel to the Southwest Meir Shlomo says the Arab World has always rejected Israel’s existence in the Middle East, even before the state’s establishment in May 1948. “It’s as simple as that,” Ambassador Shlomo told KGOU’s World Views. “And what we need in order to overcome this conflict is that the Arab World will change its mind, and understand that Israel is there, and we’re not going anywhere.” Shlomo says Jordan and Egypt reconciled Israel’s presence in the Middle East decades ago, led by the late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, and Jordan’s King Hussein. He argues most Arab leaders use Israel as a scapegoat for broader problems in the Muslim world, such as the 1980s Iran-Iraq War, and the Arab Spring protests that began in late 2010. “Even if the Israeli-Arab conflict would be solved, we shouldn't think that the Arab World, and the Middle East is going to be without any problems,” Shlomo says. While in Norman last November, Ambassador Shlomo addressed Iran’s demonization of Israel and its call for the country’s annihilation. In a speech in August, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called Israel a “black stain” on humanity. “So there’s no question about their intentions,” Shlomo says. “Now, the question is not only their intentions, but what’s the capability in order to fulfill their intentions?” Shlomo said a nuclear Iran would trigger an arms race across the Middle East. “[That’s] a worrisome issue by itself, but that would make it ever more easy for a terrorist organization to gain access to a nuclear device, and I don’t have to tell the consequences of that to any of us,” Shlomo says. The Israeli diplomat also spent time during his visit to Oklahoma at the State Capitol with Gov. Mary Fallin. Shlomo thanked Fallin, Oklahoma’s former Fifth District U.S. Representative, for her pro-Israel votes while she was in Congress. The two also explored how Oklahoma energy companies could expand natural gas drilling off the coast of Israel. “We would like to have some major companies in Oklahoma come and take part in that and maybe explore some new possibilities, maybe try to get a little bit of knowledge because we are new in the energy business,” Shlomo told the Oklahoman newspaper. “What a better place to learn energy than Oklahoma.”
