Presented by Understood.orgYou keep switching direction mid-project, and now nothing in your business is fully built. In this episode, we break down ADHD novelty bias and why new ideas don't just feel exciting. They feel urgent, important, and hard to ignore. You'll hear how this shows up in real businesses. The team is aligned, work has started, and then a new idea comes in. It sounds better, feels right, and within days everything shifts. Six months later, you've got multiple half-built projects and no clear direction. This isn't random. Research shows ADHD brains assign higher reward value to novelty, even when it works against long-term goals. We also look at the other side of it. Why boredom feels almost painful, why sticking with one direction gets harder over time, and how this pattern quietly impacts growth, team focus, and execution. This isn't about lack of discipline. It's about understanding the pattern that's driving your decisions. What We Cover:Why new ideas feel urgent instead of optionalHow novelty bias overrides long-term plansThe “half-built business” pattern many founders fall intoWhy teams follow the founder's attention automaticallyThe link between boredom, disengagement, and switchingWhen novelty is useful and when it starts breaking the businessIf you're enjoying ADHD Skills Lab, you may also enjoy Understood.org's new podcast, Sorry, I Missed This.Listen here: https://lnk.to/sorryimissedthisPS!theadhdskillslab P.S. In this special episode of Inspire Change, Miranda Spigener-Sapon and DeVonna Prinzi step into the studio for a more personal, coffee-style conversation while Gunter is away focusing on his PhD work.Together, they explore why so many of us live in reaction mode, how perfectionism adds pressure to our lives, and why real change often begins not by pushing harder, but by pausing, breathing, and becoming more aware.Through honest reflections from their own working relationship and daily lives, Miranda and DeVonna talk about the difference between reacting and responding, the emotional cost of trying to be perfect, and the power of making small, sustainable shifts instead of chasing unrealistic expectations. At the heart of the conversation is a simple but powerful reminder: growth does not come from perfection. It comes from awareness, choice, and giving yourself permission to be in process. This episode is an invitation to slow down, release unnecessary pressure, and remember that progress is built one conscious step at a time.In This Episode• The difference between reacting and responding• Why slowing down is not weakness, but a form of self-control• How breath, pause, and awareness help shift emotional overwhelm• The hidden pressure of perfectionism, especially for women• Why self-forgiveness matters when we fall short of our own expectations• How small, sustainable changes create real momentum• The importance of measuring progress by your own growth, not comparison• Finding light through darkness by choosing awareness over chaosKey Insights“Slowing down doesn't mean weakness. It's control.”“Perfection blocks growth.”“Awareness plus choice is where change begins.”“Progress over perfection is how real change happens.”Episode HighlightsOpening the studio for a more personal conversationReaction vs. response and the power of taking a beatThe discomfort — and strength — of slowing downHow perfectionism creates unrealistic pressureLearning to forgive yourself and work with what isWhy solutions matter more than rigid plansThe power of small shifts, breathwork, and sustainable changeThe dark-to-light moment: finding hope, choice, and clarity in the middle of real lifeGratitudeHello to all our listeners, we thank you for tuning in and supporting positive social change, which makes you a part of Gunter's efforts in transforming not only men's lives but lives in general and we are grateful you have joined us. This week our shoutout goes out to the cities of Riyadh (ree-ad) in the Riyadh Region and Jeddah (jeh-duh)  in the Mecca (meh-kuh) Region for bringing Saudi Arabia all the way to #9 on our Top 20 Global listeners List!  CONGRATULATIONS!!!We thank you so much for your continued support as we appreciate your efforts toward positive social change!  I, DeVonna Prinzi the Co-Exec Producer and our Show-runner Miranda Spigener-Sapon sincerely thank you and ask that you please take the time to like, follow, subscribe, and share as your efforts make a difference to everyone here at Inspire Change with Gunter. If these stories resinate with you and you would like to engage more with Gunter and the Inspire Change team, please consider joining our Patreon community, where our members find bonus content and early access to video episodes! Story of the Week (DR):Meta and YouTube Found Negligent in Landmark Social Media Addiction Case: A jury found the companies harmed a young user with design features that were addictive and led to her mental health distress. DRHistoric Financial PenaltiesNew Mexico: A jury ordered Meta to pay $375M in civil penalties ($5,000 per violation) for misleading the public about child safety.Los Angeles: In the first social media addiction trial of its kind, the jury awarded $6M in total damages (compensatory and punitive) to a single 20-year-old plaintiff, with Meta ordered to pay 70% and YouTube 30%.Section 230 "Immunity" is CrackingThese trials successfully sidestepped Section 230 by focusing on product design (like infinite scroll and autoplay) rather than the content itself. The juries ruled that the "addictive" nature of the apps was a design defect, not a speech issue.Direct Liability for "Addictive" FeaturesFor the first time, a jury found that features like infinite scrolling, notifications, and video autoplay were intentionally designed to "hook" young users. In the Los Angeles "KGM" trial, the jury found both Meta and YouTube negligent for creating products that they knew would harm children's mental health while failing to provide adequate warnings to parents.Evidence of "Profits Over Safety"The trials featured internal documents and depositions from Mark Zuckerberg and Instagram head Adam Mosseri. The evidence convinced jurors that executives were warned by their own employees about risks to children—including sexual exploitation and mental health "problematic use"—but chose to prioritize engagement and profits over implementing safety guardrails.A "Big Tobacco" Moment for TechLegal experts are comparing these verdicts to the 1990s lawsuits against the tobacco industry. Because the California trial was a "bellwether" (a test case), the win for the plaintiff opens the floodgates for thousands of similar pending lawsuits from families and school districts. It signals that social media companies can now be sued for the health consequences of their platforms, just like cigarette manufacturers.Elon Sux 2:Elon Musk loses big in court; X boycott perfectly legal: X admonished for “fishing expedition” as judge dismisses ad boycott lawsuit.Elon Musk Found Liable By Jury For Misleading Twitter Investors In $44 Billion Deal, Faces Potential $2.5 Billion DamagesElon Musk's Grok ordered to stop creating AI nudes by Dutch court as legal pressure mountsOn March 25, 2026, President Trump officially appointed the first 13 members to his President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST). While the council is designed to hold up to 24 members, the initial "dream team" lineup is dominated by Silicon Valley titans and leaders in AI, crypto, and fusion energy. In exchange, the company has pledged to stop developing any new offshore wind in the U.S. entirely.Paying for Investments Already in ProgressCritics call the deal a "boondoggle" because the $1 billion "refund" is earmarked for natural gas and oil projects—specifically the Rio Grande LNG plant in Texas—that TotalEnergies was already heavily invested in. The article argues the government is essentially handing over taxpayer money for business moves the company was making anyway.A Tactical Pivot After Court LossesAfter the administration's previous attempts to block offshore wind were repeatedly struck down by federal judges, they've switched strategies. Instead of using executive orders that get tied up in court, they are now using "settlements" and "refunds" as a backdoor way to dismantle the renewable energy industry.Economic Irony During a Global Fuel CrisisThe payout comes at a time when global energy prices are spiking due to the war in the Middle East, highlighting the irony of spending $1B to kill domestic, zero-carbon wind power—which would provide long-term price stability—in favor of volatile fossil fuel markets. The "America First" ParadoxDespite the "America First" rhetoric, the administration is transferring a massive sum of U.S. taxpayer money to a foreign (French) corporation. Legal experts and advocates suggest this sets a "dangerous precedent," essentially signaling to other energy companies that they can get paid by the government not to build the green infrastructure they already bought leases for.Major outgoing CEOs are citing AI as a factor in their decisions to step downCoca-Cola CEO James Quincey (61) and former Walmart CEO Doug McMillon (59) have told CNBC that the next wave of artificial intelligence is a reason for their departures. Both CEOs said they believed their companies needed someone with new energy and understanding of AI to helm the companies' futures.Who is next?Apple/Tim Cook (63): long tenure; Apple needs rapid AI product pivots; investor impatience could risePepsi/Ramon Laguarta (60): consumer packaged goods facing AI-driven marketing/supply chain changeMcDonald's/Chris Kempczinski (55): operations + AI in ordering, automationAir Canada CEO [Michael Rousseau] Apologizes For Lack of French Language Skills But Refuses to Resign Over ‘Insulting' Crash Video MessageSunday night: an Air Canada plane collided with a fire truck while landing at LGA: the pilot and copilot were killed and both fire officers were injuredMany possible reasons for crash: but worth noting that: Only two controllers were working in the tower overnight, combining multiple roles including ground and local control. Annual cost = 450 airports × $180,000 = $81,000,000.The embattled chief executive of Air Canada has publicly apologized for his lack of French language skills after he was slammed for releasing an English-only video message about the fatal crash of an Air Canada Express regional jet at LaGuardia Airport late on Sunday.Headquartered in French-speaking Quebec, Air Canada is subject to Canada's Official Languages Act, which means that it must serve passengers in both English and French.Because Air Canada is the national flag carrier, it is subject to the Canada Transportation Act and the Air Canada Public Participation Act. Future of Mobility

Change management sounds abstract. Even a little boring. But if you care about making things better, in your company, your family, your community, or yourself, then you're in the business of driving change. And the ability to lead and manage that well may be one of the most important skills of the next five to ten years. In this episode, I unpack why change so often fails, especially in technically minded environments. We default to thinking the strategy wasn't good enough, the plan wasn't tight enough, or the tactics weren't executed cleanly enough.Sometimes that's true. But more often than we admit, change fails because we treat it like a technical problem when it's actually a human one.I share how I've been thinking about change inside PJ Wallbank Springs, what I've learned from watching leaders like Chris Wallbank and Tracy Fletcher take this seriously, and the four conditions that I believe have to be true before real buy-in can happen. This isn't a clean framework or a step-by-step playbook. It's a reflection on what I'm seeing, where I've struggled, and what seems to matter if you want change to actually stick.Topics CoveredWhy leading change may be the defining leadership skill of the next decadeProactive change vs responding to external changeWhy most change efforts fail, even with good plansThe difference between technical complexity and human complexityHow identity and ego quietly resist changeWhy force and authority don't create lasting commitmentThe four conditions required for genuine buy-inTrust, understanding, belief in direction, and belief in successWhy meaningful change requires long-term relationship investment“Go slow to go fast” in practiceApplying these ideas across work, family, and personal growthClosing ThoughtChange isn't a sprint. It isn't a memo. And it isn't just better tactics. It's deeply human work. And if we want to build better, we have to treat it that way.Music: Slow Burn, Kevin Macleod

Working from home sounds simple—until kids, calendars, meals, meetings, and relationships all collide. In this episode, I sit down with Thom Gibson, a work-from-home dad and social media strategist, to talk honestly about what it really takes to make remote work and family life coexist.Thom is the founder of WFH Dads, and his perspective is grounded not in theory, but in lived experience—raising two young kids, navigating shared schedules with his wife, and building a workday that leaves room for presence, not just productivity.Six Discussion PointsHow Thom transitioned into working from home during the pandemic—and why he stayedWhy default schedules matter more than perfect plansThe overlooked power of clear boundaries between “work time” and “family time”How simplifying meals reduces daily decision fatigueWhy Thom changed his journaling practice after 15 yearsThe thinking behind the Six-Hour Workday Playbook for dadsThree Connection PointsWFH DadsGet The Six-Hour Workday PlaybookHow to Build a Powerful Journal in 3 Steps (Starting Today)This conversation reinforced something I've believed for a long time: structure isn't the enemy of freedom—it's what makes freedom possible. In this episode of The Offset Podcast we're asking & discussing the question - Is HDR really taking off?At first blush, the answer is yes, but the really, the answer is decidedly more nuanced.  Specifics discussed in this episode include:HDR seems to be everywhere - streaming platforms, consumer electronics, professional gear with billions made in investmentWhile wildly available, access to HDR content is still often based on  ‘level' of plan. Disconnect for consumers between HDR capable hardware and plansThe role the iPhone has played in helping spread HDRAlthough available & accessible, HDR is still widely weighted to the ‘higher end'.  Mid and entry level productions aren't utilizing HDR. Why? And how can that change? The language of HDR has become conservative and very similar to SDR versions making differentiation harderA safe approach to HDR may be tied to derived downstream HDR and SDR performance.   Investment in expensive gear (reference monitoring) for what many see as niche is also a contributing factorHow to sell and consistency in selling HDR content is importantMany feel that HDR is something that is being dictated to them…but for technical not creative reasonsImportant to remember HDR technology and workflows are still relatively newStunning HDR content does exist and shows what can be done (Ian Vertovec examples)Given artists space and time to work on HDR can produce amazing resultsIf you like the show be sure to like and subscribe where ever you find The Offset Podcast

Indiana. We made our first batch in a 5 gallon plastic bucket and distilled it in a still made from an old kitchen sink. At the time, Indiana was considering allowing distilleries to function like their brewery and winery counterparts with rights sell directly to the public. We began constructing and licensing a distillery in that barn with plans for it to be a farm distillery open to the public for tastings.change of plansThe barn space didn't work out, but we kept our passion alive by continuing to build our distilling knowledge, engineering new equipment, and searching for a new location to house the distillery.NowDistillery 64 is now open to the public for tastings, cocktails and well mannered frivolity at our industrial location in New Albany. We look forward to seeing you there.our beliefsExperience.Connect our visitors to the craft through education and hands on experiences.Generosity.Give back to the world around us. We will do our best to share what we have learned to pass it on to other curious minds.our SpiritsRum has natural sweetness and vanilla but infusing with toasted oak just makes it better. This spirit drinks like a whiskey. We like to use it in place of whiskey or bourbon in cocktails or on the rocks. It's especially tasty in a classic Old Fashioned.Product Class: RumProof: 80 | Alc/Vol: 40%Packed with citrus flavor! This gin boasts a generous serving of botanicals including fresh lemon and orange peel. Rose petals greet you subtly on the finish to wrap up this amazingly delicious and complex spirit. Welcome to another exciting episode of the Capitalist Investor! In this week's conversation, your favorite co-hosts, Diamond Hands D and Luke Lloyd, dive into a mix of personal updates and prominent economic trends. Below, we've summarized the five hot topics from this episode, where discussions spanned from holiday festivities to the stock market highs, providing keen insights for investors everywhere.1. Holiday Reflections: Thanksgiving and New Year's PlansThe episode kicks off on a lighter note, with Diamond Hands D and Luke Lloyd sharing their Thanksgiving experiences. Luke mentions gaining some holiday weight and gearing up for his honeymoon, setting a warm, relatable tone. They also discuss the upcoming New Year's Eve plans, particularly Luke Lloyd's unique celebration at the Walleye Drop in Port Clinton, Ohio, where a 100-foot glass walleye is dropped to mark the new year. This reflection underscores the balance of personal and professional lives, reminding listeners that even investors take time to celebrate.2. Black Friday and Cyber Monday Sales AnalysisA significant portion of the discussion centers around the record-breaking sales observed during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Luke Lloyd highlights that Black Friday sales hit around $10 billion, marking a 10% increase from the previous year. Similarly, Cyber Monday saw a 7% increase, reaching around $13 billion. Despite these impressive numbers, overall holiday sales are only projected to be 3% higher than last year, mainly due to inflation. This indicates that while spending trends appear robust, the broader economic context is more nuanced.3. Wealth Effect and Market SentimentAnother noteworthy point of discussion is the "wealth effect" and how market sentiment influences consumer behavior. Diamond Hands D and Luke Lloyd observe that positive market trends, such as a booming stock market and rising cryptocurrency values, can boost consumer confidence, leading to increased spending. This phenomenon underscores how psychological factors play a significant role in economic activities, suggesting that investors keep an eye on broader sentiment to gauge market movements.4. The Controversy of Politicians' Stock PortfoliosThe episode also delves into a controversial topic: the impressive stock market returns achieved by politicians, notably Nancy Pelosi. The co-hosts question whether these returns could be attributed to potential insider trading, given that some politicians are outperforming investment icons like Warren Buffett. They mention examples like Nancy Pelosi's substantial gains from call options on Nvidia and discuss how such activities raise ethical and legal questions. The conversation hints at a need for greater scrutiny and possibly regulation in how politicians trade stocks.5. Market Predictions for the Coming MonthsThe episode wraps up with predictions for the market trajectory in early 2025. Luke Lloyd predicts a so-called "Santa Claus rally," where markets may see upward momentum into the holiday season, but advises caution for January. He anticipates that January might witness a decline due to profit-taking and the diminishing post-holiday optimism. This forward-looking analysis helps investors prepare for potential market adjustments early in the year.ConclusionFrom personal anecdotes to in-depth market analysis, this episode of the Capitalist Investor offers a well-rounded discussion on timely topics relevant to both novice and seasoned investors. As always, the hosts encourage listeners to stay informed and engaged, underscoring the podcast's educational mission. Be sure to tune in to the next episode for more insights and updates on the economic landscape.
