It only took 6 minutes for Kevin Denkey to introduce himself to Columbus in the latest edition of Hell is Real. But as we've come to expect from the best rivalry in MLS, there is no space to sit comfortably on a lead. If Cincinnati had any advantage in the first half, the Crew made all the right adjustments and were relentless in their attack in the second half, eventually scoring on a Diego Rossi kick from the spot. The match ended in a 1-1 draw keeping FCC ahead of the Crew but causing them to lose a little ground to Philadelphia who now sits atop the Eastern Conference due to their early season victory over the FCC. Join us tonight at 9:00 for the full breakdown of this version of Hell is Real, a look ahead at the Atlanta match, and little US Men's National Team talk. Get your Apple MLS Season Pass. What is podcast SEO? In this episode Andi chats with Brittany Herzberg (the queen of SEO) and breaks down how we can use SEO for our podcasts in a way that doesn't make me want to run away screaming. Brittany Herzberg is an SEO strategist and copywriter who has been using SEO to increase podcast discoverability for her own podcast and her clients' podcasts for several years. She is good at explaining concepts like SEO keywords and visibility in a way that is simple, but very affective.Topics discussed in this episode:Podcast SEO basicsPodcast SEO examplesPodcast discoverabilityPodcast SEO keywordsPodcast SEO best practicesHow to get your podcast SEO rightHere's the one thing you should implement in your podcast if you're feeling overwhelmed and not sure where to start and that is…making sure that your episode titles are 60 characters or less. Getting into this habit will be super helpful for you as you are starting your podcast. Like Brittany said during our conversation, it helps your ideal listener know what the episode is going to be about (because the title doesn't get cut off with an ellipsis). And whenever you interview someone make sure to use their name in the title as well, so that when people are searching for that person, your episode comes up! Bevor wir gleich mit der Folge starten, habe ich noch eine Empfehlung für Dich. Diesmal in eigener Sache. Transcript with Audio Description: [MUSIC IN - GHOSTHOOD FEATURING SARA AZRIEL “LET'S GO” BEGINS] MARY: When looking at new podcasts for something to listen to on your podcast player, sometimes one just stands out. For me, it was quite a few years ago when the title But What Do I Know grabbed my attention. It was nominated for a podcast award and it really resonated with me because, the imposter syndrome behind that question, my need for continual learning, and also learning from a fellow Canadian, which was rare at that time. When I saw the show, Canadian podcasts weren't really highlighted as Canadian, but really it was all about that imposter syndrome part. That little girl's uncertainty that I have that still lingers inside of me even as I am a 45 year old woman today. Right. Like all of this stuff comes up, and it came up through that one question, the title of her podcast. So I added But What Do I Know? to my list, even though I didn't listen to it, not in the beginning at least, because I wasn't ready to face my inner struggles with that little girl that I was talking about, right? That struggle of, ooh, I actually have to look at this now. Nah. But I'll still save it on my podcast player because you just never know, right? And then I fast forward to last year, 2024, and the podcast was rebranded and it spoke to me even more. I was like, wait a minute, why did this rebrand happen? What's different? What's going on? And it piqued my curiosity. So I was like, okay, leaning towards the curiosity versus, ooh, do I have to face my inner demons? And that was the change for me. And I decided to hit play because I realized, yeah, what do I know? Because I could learn from Chidinma Azubuike. Chidinma and I chat about her podcasting journey and what success looks like for her now. Because as we know, podcasting is a lot of work. So how does her curiosity and drive to build community work for her podcast today? This is episode number 97 on the Podcaster's Guide to a Visible Voice.

I don't just want my son to be “nice.” I want him to be dangerous. Not reckless, not cruel—dangerous. The kind of man who knows how to protect, provide, and stand tall when life throws punches. Because the world doesn't care about your feelings. It respects strength, discipline, and men who can carry the weight when others fold. Raising a dangerous man doesn't mean teaching violence—it means teaching control. It's about sharpening his instincts, hardening his resolve, and building a code he can live by. I want him to have the confidence that only comes from knowing he can handle himself and protect what matters. A man who's capable of violence but chooses peace? That's a man people respect. That's a man people follow. That's who I'm raising. Softness isn't safety. Compliance isn't strength. I'd rather raise a lion and teach him restraint than raise a sheep and pray he never meets a wolf. So no, I'm not raising him to be palatable to the world. I'm raising him to be prepared—for the weight of responsibility, for danger, for leadership. Because one day, it won't be me protecting him. It'll be him protecting others.

Among the many factors credited for Donald Trump's victory over Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race was one that, naturally, the hosts of Know Your Enemy took an interest in: podcasts. More specifically, "bro" podcasts—think Joe Rogan or Theo Von—seemed to be one reason why Trump continued, as he did in 2016 and 2020, to perform so well with male voters, especially gaining ground with younger, Black, and Latino men. An episode of one of these podcasts might stretch to three hours long or more, and typically features meandering, casual conversations that put a premium on apparent authenticity, as well as a knack for hanging with the boys. Trump and other Republican candidates and figures on the right (such as Elon Musk, a regular on Rogan's show) made appearing on these podcasts part of their campaign strategy, which allowed them to reach men who tend not to "follow politics" or even vote in every election. To try to understand what's happening with bros, podcasts, Trump, and beyond, there was no better guest than New Yorker staff writer Andrew Marantz, author of an early—and quite perceptive—piece on KYE and, more importantly for this conversation, a recent investigation into the world of bro podcasts and streamers, and what they might mean for both the left and the right at the start of Trump's second term.Sources:Andrew Marantz, "The Battle for the Bros," The New Yorker, Mar 17, 2025— "Is the U.S. Becoming and Autocracy," The New Yorker, April 28, 2025-- "Why We Can't Stop Arguing About Whether Trump Is a Fascist," The New Yorker, March 27, 2024— "The Post-Dirtbag Left," The New Yorker, July 26, 2021 Jonathan Allen & Amie Parnes, "The inside story of Harris' lost gamble on Joe Rogan, Beyoncé and a late Texas rally," NBC News, Jan 29, 2025Jack Crosbie, "Hasan Piker: A Progressive Mind in a MAGA Body," New York Times, April 27, 2025...and don't forget to subscribe to Know Your Enemy on Patreon for access to all of our bonus episodes!

Today, we're celebrating 5 years of this podcast! Hope you enjoy this episode! Here is the passage from The Horse and His Boy where Aslan reveals to Shasta (later known as Prince Cor) how he had been guiding and protecting him throughout his life. This quote is from Chapter 11 of The Horse and His Boy: “I was the lion who forced you to join with Aravis. I was the cat who comforted you among the houses of the dead. I was the lion who drove the jackals from you while you slept. I was the lion who gave the Horses the new strength of fear for the last mile so that you should reach King Lune in time. And I was the lion you do not remember who pushed the boat in which you lay, a child near death, so that it came to shore where a man sat, wakeful at midnight, to receive you.” Xo, Juliana
In this episode, I and, Manfred Mahrle, explore the transformative power of positive intelligence for CEOs facing the challenges of leadership. I discuss the importance of adopting a "sage mode" mindset, drawing an analogy to the conflict between Darth Vader and the Jedi. Through my journey from a two-decade corporate career to founding ActiMind, I emphasize the necessity of overcoming fear to achieve fulfillment and innovation. I unpack the foundational elements of the sage mindset, such as empathy and activation, which help leaders navigate challenges effectively. Highlighting a client's breakthrough regarding perfectionism, I advocate for building healthier habits through mindfulness and adaptable strategies. Ultimately, I encourage listeners to engage in personal development and the ongoing practice of positive intelligence to enhance their leadership journey.

I once did a deep dive into the commandments, teachings, pillars, rules—whatever label the world's major religions gave their moral codes. I read through the Bible, the Quran, the Torah, the Tao Te Ching, Buddhist teachings, even some tribal belief systems. All of them had different flavors, rituals, and stories—but when you strip away the incense, the robes, the chants, and the translations, guess what the core message boiled down to? Don't. Be. A. Dick. That's it. That's the thesis. Don't lie, don't steal, don't kill, don't screw people over, don't act like the center of the damn universe. Be kind, help others, say thank you once in a while, and if you screw up—own it. You don't need a theology degree or enlightenment from a mountain monk to grasp this. But here's the real kicker: it's simple, not easy. Ego gets loud. Pride gets in the way. Fear and anger turn people into walking middle fingers. And before you know it, you've become the very jackass you swore you weren't. “Don't be a dick” is more than a joke or a bumper sticker—it's a code. It's the real golden rule without all the religious fluff. Live it, and the world gets a little less stupid. Ignore it, and congratulations, you're part of the problem. So yeah, whether you're quoting scripture or just trying to not be the worst part of someone's day, remember this: all the sacred texts pretty much agree—just don't be a dick.

On this episode of The STL Bucket List Show, host Lucas Farrell sits down with Marlin Bonds—Founder & CEO of Hypno Loops, and a name you might recognize from the music world. Marlin is a 7x platinum, 2x Grammy-nominated, BMI award-winning producer and songwriter from St. Louis whose work has been featured everywhere—from Grey's Anatomy and ESPN to K-pop chart-toppers and Netflix's Love Is Blind. But Marlin's latest chapter is something completely different—and deeply personal. After the loss of both his father and newborn son, he began using affirmations and meditation to heal. When the tools available didn't quite connect, he took his experience in the studio and created something new: a sound-based wellness tool designed to rewire your mindset through rhythm and repetition. That idea became Hypno Loops, a mindful tech platform that's helping people break negative thought cycles and tap into self-growth through personalized audio experiences. We dive into his journey from the music industry to mental health innovation, the science behind rhythmic looping, and how St. Louis continues to shape his story.Support the show
