Fr. Mike recaps Paul's trial before the chief priests and the plot to kill him in Acts 23. As we conclude 2 Corinthians today, Fr. Mike reflects on the thorn in Paul's side, a weakness that he struggled with and begged God to take away. Fr. Mike invites us to reflect on our own thorn that God doesn't seem to take away, and to remember that God's grace is sufficient for us. Today's readings are Acts 23, 2 Corinthians 12-13, and Proverbs 29:8-11. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/bibleinayear. Charlie's final book "STOP, in the Name of God" is finally out nationwide, and nobody is more fitting to talk about the book's message than Erika Kirk. She joins the show to discuss why the Sabbath meant so much to Charlie and how God's gift of rest only made him more effective as a campaigner, communicator, and leader. Plus, Hillsdale's Matthew Spalding talks about his new book on the Declaration of Independence and its central role in defining the "American mind." Rising Above: From Runaway Kid to Green Beret, Cop, and Creator This week's Team Never Quit episode brings you a raw, unfiltered, and deeply inspiring conversation with Sean Rogers - a man who has lived several lifetimes' worth of adversity, discipline, transformation, and impact. From a desert town to the global stage, Rogers' story is one of resilience forged under pressure. Born in California and raised in Phelan, his early years were marked by chaos and instability. After running away from home as a teenager, he refused to let hardship dictate his future. He finished high school on his own terms and made the bold choice to enlist in the military, setting into motion a journey that would change everything. While on active duty, Sean began his formal education and pushed himself academically with the same intensity he brought to training. He earned a master's degree in organizational leadership—all while pursuing the grueling path to become a U.S. Army Special Forces Green Beret. Two deployments later, he transitioned to a new mission: serving his community as a police officer. What he witnessed on the streets during the riots following the death of George Floyd would reshape his understanding of leadership, culture, communication, and human behavior. But Sean's story didn't stop there. Driven to help the next generation of warriors, he founded The FNG Academy, an online platform designed to prepare aspiring Special Forces candidates for the mental, physical, and emotional challenges of selection. What started as a simple resource has grown into a thriving YouTube community, a robust online store, and a dedicated team committed to equipping others to step into their potential with confidence. He later chronicled his incredible life journey in his autobiography, Rising Above, a book that captures the honesty, grit, and self-discovery that have shaped his path. Sean Rogers embodies what it means to overcome circumstances, own your story, and turn pain into purpose. Whether you're chasing personal growth, preparing for a demanding path, or simply looking for motivation to push through your own challenges, this is an episode you won't want to miss. In this episode you will hear: • Recently, I finally figured out that God is what I needed to be chasing. (5:27) • I got a Master's Degree. I ran marathons. I ran ultra marathons. Trying to fill that void. I got Special Forces; I went police officer. Everything I thought would help – none of it helped. (6:49) • They develop this fear in you that if you get found out by CPS, you're gonna get separated from your siblings. So, you start learning how to hide what's going on at home. (11:06) • I used to run away constantly – to all my family member's houses, and the cops would go get me and bring me back. (18:03) • [I wanted to die] I had one of two directions to go: either get worse, and then she's gonna look back one day and say she made the right decision, or I can get better and I can look back one day and say that was the best thing that ever happened to me. (38:59) • I had to make a decision. I don't want this to define me that someone got to choose my fate. (39:53) • If I can't get my act together enough to follow through on a plan, maybe the Army will be the place where they will let me be kinda wild and refine me a little bit. (44:56) • At 67:12 to 70:30, Sean speaks about an awful mistake he made in a gunfight. • Writing books. Of all the things I've done, I've hated that the worst. (78:00) • I trust people that talk about God now. A lot of SF guys idolize. We say “Look at me.” (78:06) • What stoked my fire with God was the show “Chosen.” (80:29) • I'm claiming to be Christian, and I don't even know how cool Jesus is. (80:57) • At some point you have to say. “I'm buckling down, this is where God wants me. I'm here – thick or thin, and we're gonna get through this.” (104:52) • [Marcus] from 0-40 it's an opinion; 40-60 it's perspective; and 60+ is wisdom. • Self-help books are broken people talking to broken people to give you some temporary encouragement. Treat them as what they are. It's Witness Wednesday! Today, Todd ventures on campus at Georgia Tech to have conversations about Christ, truth, and the afterlife. He meets students Ryan and Dallas and encourages them to trust in the reality and truth of the gospel of Christ. Segment 1 • Todd uses Ryan's Chick-fil-A sandwich to argue for intelligent design. • Ryan, an agnostic-leaning student, wrestles with the idea of creation vs. the Big Bang. • Todd gently calls out Ryan's reluctance to accept a Creator, and the possible motive behind it. Segment 2 • Todd probes deeper into Ryan's conscience. • Ryan admits he'd be found guilty if judged by God, but still doubts the justice or existence of such a being. • Ryan doubts Todd's ability to know this truth, but affirms his logic. Segment 3 • Todd meets Dallas, a witty nuclear engineering student who might say he is spiritual but not religious. • Dallas admits to moral failings but assumes God will be “understanding.” • Todd points Dallas towards Christ taking his punishment for him. Segment 4 • Todd outlines the gospel — forgiveness through Jesus, not good works — but Dallas hesitates, hung up on religion and the name “Jesus.” • Dallas responds to the gospel with sarcasm and dismissal. • Todd encourages you: respond to the gospel in faith - don't dismiss it. ___ Thanks for listening! In this episode, I dive into the Articles of Faith and Official Declarations 1 and 2 and talk about what they teach us about revelation, change, and trusting living prophets. I share how the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon, help us sort truth from noise, why repentance and faith in Christ are so central, and how we can honor others' right to worship while holding fast to our own beliefs. In the end, I come back to Nephi's "nevertheless": we don't know the meaning of all things, but we do know that God loves His children—and that truth is enough to keep us on the covenant path. In Acts 22, Paul's testimony falls on hostile Roman ears, and he narrowly escapes scourging by way of his Roman citizenship. Reflecting on this incident, Fr. Mike reminds us that God uses Paul's past to further his ministry, and that God does the same with each of us, today. Commenting on today's readings from 2 Corinthians, Fr. Mike highlights that we are called to be cheerful givers and disciplined thinkers. He also points out that, as Paul reminds us, the most important ministry credential is to be called by God and equipped by his grace. Today's readings are Acts 22, 2 Corinthians 9-11, and Proverbs 29:5-7. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/bibleinayear. MAXOUT Your Mind Masterclass: Faith In Action In this episode, I want to speak directly to the part of you that knows you were created for more but keeps waiting for the perfect plan or the perfect moment to start. I want to remind you that your life changes the second your belief becomes behavior. Faith in action is the force that separates those who hope for greatness from those who actually experience it. You do not need more time, more clarity, or more preparation. You need movement. You need to step into the now. Because now is where your confidence grows and now is where God meets you. In this Masterclass, I take you behind the curtain of the exact strategies, habits, and mindsets I have used for decades to build self discipline at a level that most people think is impossible. Not because I am naturally disciplined but because I built systems, eliminated distractions, and created a structure that makes winning my default setting. I walk you through the mindset of a dominator. Why perspiration beats talent, why emotional control is a superpower, and why the people who change their lives are the ones who act faster than their doubt. You will also learn the rule that changed my life forever. Immediate massive action. There is a rhythm to success and most people miss it because they hesitate. In this lesson, I show you how to break that habit and train your brain to respond in the moment. Whether it is a phone call, a conversation, a business idea, a new routine, or a relationship that needs healing, the power is always in now. When you act in the now, you elevate your vibration, you build momentum, and you create results that compound faster than you ever imagined. Finally, I walk you step by step through my formula for solving any problem. How to define reality, shift your emotional meaning, move 90 percent of your energy into the solution, and break through challenges that used to overwhelm you. Problems are not punishments. They are proof of progress and invitations to become the person God built you to be. Once you learn this process, you will stop fearing problems and start using them as fuel. If you are ready to expand your capacity, strengthen your faith, and live with a sense of historic purpose, this episode will ignite that fire in you. This is how you build confidence. This is how you build momentum. Key Takeaways Why self discipline is built in the small daily promises you keep to yourself How identifying your discipline stealers radically increases your capacity Why immediate massive action creates a rhythm of success faster than perfect planning The mindset shifts behind Tiger Woods five domination principles The three step formula for solving any major problem How focusing 90 percent of your energy on solutions changes your emotional state Why problems are proof of progress and opportunities for growth How faith becomes real the moment it becomes movement This is how you change the story of your life. Faith is not a feeling. Faith is action.
Savage explores the concept that strength and weakness are interconnected, inspired by attending his mother Rachel's memorial service. He reflects on his personal experiences, including the struggles of caring for his disabled brother and the societal issues of modern America. Using personal anecdotes and biblical references, he emphasizes that true strength comes from acknowledging one's limitations and finding power in faith and from God. He then shares his journey into radio, highlighting how crying out to God and perseverance helped him succeed despite numerous challenges. He concludes with the notion that vengeance should be left to God, and in weakness, one can find true strength.
I know you've felt like, in the past, you've been hesitant to share your true feelings and beliefs. Maybe you didn't want to offend that woman you were pursuing. Or, maybe you didn't want to upset your boss and run the risk of losing your job. Or, maybe you were afraid of what society or social media would say if you shared your true thoughts. My guest today, Father Stephen Gadberry, is familiar with all of that in a way that many of us relate with. As a Catholic priest, US Air Force Veteran, and American Ninja Warrior competitor, he knows how compelling public criticism can become. Today, Father Gadberry and I talk about discipline, what "turning the other cheek," really means, how to handle false accusations, what true accountability actually means, the difference between your "vocation," and "occupation," and how God will speak to all of us. Marriage is God's gift for joy and sanctification — but three subtle poisons can kill it: Pennies, Perversion, and Pride.Pennies – Loving money breeds fear, comparison, and discontent. Antidote: Seek first God's kingdom (Matt 6:25–34).Perversion – Porn, withholding, or distortion twist God's good gift of sex. Antidote: Pursue regular, healing intimacy as worship (1 Cor 7:5).Pride – “I know better” fuels unforgiveness and division. Antidote: Look to the humble Servant-King and forgive as Christ forgave us (Matt 20:28, Eph 4:32).Spot the poison, repent fast, and watch God restore joy to your covenant. Short, scriptural, and straight to the heart — hit play with your spouse.RESOURCES:Master marital communication: https://speak.fiercemarriage.comTake the 31-Day Pursuit Challenge: https://31daypursuit.comPray for your spouse with intention: https://40prayers.comTo learn more about becoming a Christian, visit: https://thenewsisgood.comThis ministry is entirely listener-supported. Billy Hallowell noticed something that should bother Christians: every October, Hollywood releases films about demons, possessions, and the supernatural—and audiences pack theaters. Meanwhile, many churches won't touch these topics with a ten-foot pole. The CBN journalist, TV host, and documentary filmmaker joins Blurry Creatures to explore this disconnect and share what he discovered while making "Investigating the Supernatural: Miracles." Billy walks through verified cases of miraculous healings, including a man who was dead for 40 minutes—pronounced dead, shocked 12 times, being prepped for the morgue—before a praying doctor saw him come back to life with a perfect heartbeat. These aren't secondhand stories; Billy investigated them with the rigor of a journalist, seeking medical records, eyewitness accounts, and expert analysis. He issues an open challenge to skeptics and cessationists alike: watch the documentary and then explain what happened, because he couldn't find any naturalistic explanation. The conversation goes deeper into why Billy believes the church's silence on the supernatural is a massive failure. He argues that secular materialism has seeped into Christian thinking, leaving believers with a "truncated view" of spiritual reality that leaves them unable to understand the world around them—from geopolitics to personal struggles. Billy shares his conviction that UFO and alien phenomena are demonic in origin, meant to redirect attention away from God, and he sees the current mainstream interest in these topics as a door Christians should be walking through. The episode also addresses the dangerous theology that blames sick people for lacking faith, what near-death experiencers consistently report about God's love, and why humility—not dramatic encounters—is the real catalyst Billy has observed in countless conversion stories. Plus, in true Blurry Creatures fashion, we explore whether Bigfoot could be demonic, a "rental car" for spiritual entities, or something else entirely. If there’s a war raging, and someone mistakenly stumbles into the middle of it, the warriors don’t suddenly stop and say, ‘Hey, wait a minute, fellas, this guy isn’t part of it. Let’s wait ‘til he gets outta the way.’ No people who stumble into battle unaware often get caught in the crossfire. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie wants to make sure that doesn’t happen to us. He points out that we’re surrounded by spiritual warfare, and we need to be prepared to fight, and fight victoriously. — Become a Harvest Partner today and join us in knowing God and making Him known through media and large-scale evangelism, our mission of over 30 years. Rebuilt: How John Stewart Hill Turned Pain into Purpose and Purpose into Impact The Not Old Better Show, Art of Living Interview Series Welcome to The Not Old Better Show, Art of Living series on NOB Studios. I'm Paul Vogelzang, and today's episode is brought to you by Acorns. Acorns helps you grow towards the money goals you have today — and the ones you'll have tomorrow. …You'll be thinking about long after it ends. Imagine this: you're lying in a hospital bed. The doctors say it's bad. You've had a massive heart attack. It's 3AM. You're alone. And just when you're ready to let go... a quiet question comes to your heart: Do you want to stay, or do you want to go? Our guest today, John Stewart Hill, faced that question—and chose to stay. And thank God he did. He walked out of that hospital not just with physical damage, but with a fire in his soul. What followed was a life transformed by faith, grit, and a mission to serve others. He started The Good Contractors List—a business built on something rare these days: trust. Real trust. Backed by a $10,000 guarantee, no less. But this isn't just about business. It's about purpose. Redemption. And the idea that no matter your age, your past, or your pain—God's not done writing your story. This is a powerful one, folks. So settle in. You're going to hear about second chances, real integrity, and how one man rebuilt his heart, his life, and his legacy. You'll be thinking about long after it ends.
True Christian maturity is revealed when believers dare to step fully into the joys and sorrows of others. Ray, E.Z., Mark, and Oscar reflect on Paul's call to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep, emphasizing that this command invites real engagement rather than distance. They consider how Jesus held joy and sorrow together, how Paul used cultural understanding to reach the lost, and how remembering one's own lostness fuels compassion. The guys stress that empathy must never replace truth, that lament should not be bypassed, and that genuine celebration often requires confronting inner struggles. Through both grief and joy, believers display unity, love, and steady hope in the God who works for their good. This rhythm of entering another's world becomes a quiet testimony of faith, showing the world a love shaped by Christ's compassion.Send us a textThanks for listening! Hi. In today's episode of Even More News, Katy, Jonathan, and Cody discuss the impacts of the CDC's new recommendations on the Hepatitis B vaccine. Then they get into how FIFA created a peace prize just to award it to Trump, which, according to Fox, is evidence of the existence of God. They also cover Trump's fury over Henry Cuellar not becoming a Republican as a thank-you for Trump pardoning him for all the crimes he committed. As always, we recorded right before that big thing that happened.PATREON: https://patreon.com/somemorenewsMERCH: https://shop.somemorenews.comYOUTUBE MEMBERSHIP: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvlj0IzjSnNoduQF0l3VGng/join#CDC #HenryCuellar #evenmorenewsSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
