In this episode, we will expose the gripping power of social media and pornography on the lives of Christians, and provide practical strategies for overcoming these addictions through openness and reliance on God's guidance and accountability from other Christians. Join us on this journey to victory and discover the potential of social media to foster positive impact and exhibit Christ-like behavior. In this episode, you will be able to:- Discern the captivating nature of social media and adopt a measured approach to its use.- Identify the threats of earthly distractions and the necessity of centering your attention on Christ.- Acknowledge the negative ramifications of pornography on the lives of Christian men and women.- Utilize social media for uplifting reasons and embody Christ-like conduct.- Overcome the grip of addiction by embracing the power of the Holy Spirit to find freedom.Quotes from this episode:"One of the greatest uses of social media will be to prove at the judgment that prayerlessness was not due to lack of Time." - John Piper"How much time are we really giving our attention to the one thing that matters? So are we giving our attention to entertainment? Because ultimately that's what your phone is.""We have to get out of the mentality that I need this, because maybe you don't and maybe you do. And there's so many benefits of it as well. We want to find the balance for your particular life and your season of life." Cutter Consulting Group Founder and CEO Jason Cutter is back for round 2 with Jordan in today's edition of Peak Performance Selling. In this episode, the two discuss the various aspects of authenticity.Jason explains building layers of trust with the customer, handling objections by understanding the root cause of their “fear”, answering questions with the empathetic reversing approach, and many more. Tune in to learn more in this latest episode of Peak Performance Selling. PEAK PERFORMANCE HIGHLIGHTS:JASON: BUILDING A LAYER OF TRUST“The other person potentially buying it is a human. And they have a lot more at stake because they also have a reputation within their company if they screw up. And so you have to understand those things. And once you do, then you're playing a completely different game, because now you're addressing those things in advance, or you're building a sales process that then builds up the layers of trust, such that when you get to the point where you tell them what they should be doing, they know that you care about them, and that you're professional, and then they're going to follow you.” JASON: UNDERSTAND THE ROOT CAUSE OF AN OBJECTION“That's the thing to keep in mind is that when those questions come up, when objections are raised, it's coming from somewhere. It's either a past experience where they've been burned dealing with some other growth salesperson who talked them into something, or they just bought something and made a mistake, and it was all on them, but they don't want to look bad again.” You can connect with Jason and check out his work in the links below:Jason Cutter | Cutter Consulting Group If you're listening to the Peak Performance Selling Podcast, please subscribe, share, and send us your feedback.Jordan Benjamin | MyCoreOs.com | Podcast | Email | Twitter

"Everyone was clean--I learned it in romance novels!" It's our very first repost! Sorry guys, Clerika is busy AF trying to bring you a super-topical episode for next week. So enjoy this oldie but goodie, which is about how Europeans couldn't wash themselves to save their lives--literally! Seriously, some bad, racist shit is going down right now, and we here at Rude History Industries want to take this moment to remind our fellow whites that people of European descent took a SHAMEFULLY long time to learn not to stew in our own filth. So maybe lay off the anti-Asian comments, okay? Okay! BEGIN REPOST: Erika and Clare are back, baby! Closing out the New Year with a reminder that you should always, always wash your butt. Yep, that's right: We're talking about the Europeans and how they couldn't keep clean to save their lives! (Or other people's noses). It's not really quarantine if someone can cough in your face is it? Just don't cough in Dave McIntyre's face, or maybe anyone's. And don't ask someone to keep their social distance if you're not prepared to be threatened. Quarantine is going well for the Dads so far!
Do you do a hard workout and lift big weights, or do plank holds and what feels like a million sit ups and still don't sweat and feel frustrated? Yeah I used to as well, and that's ok. You still worked and you are still a rock star and you are still succeeding. Just because you don't sweat does not mean you didn't work your butt off. listen to find out why. Ill answer any question you may have. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jaime-riske/support
We review Ratatouille with more fire & analysis than we ever thought possible. This is a loaded episode. There’s a History of the Pixar Company segment, a breakdown of Pixar’s 22 Rules of Storytelling, and some debate surrounding the Heartbreaks & Happiness segment. How This Show Works - 2:38 NON-SPOILER SECTION Cast and Crew - 4:42 How Pixar Got Here - 8:26 Production Nuggets - 15:18 Movie Specs - 16:30 Plot Premises/Expectations - 19:42; 24:00 Production Values: Animation/DELICIOUS, DELICIOUS FOOD- 22:47; 25:09 Sound - 29:38 Performances - 30:10 Spoiler Warning - 34:35 SPOILER-FILLED SECTION Pixar’s 22 Rules of Screenwriting No. 9 - 35:55 Failing on a Tightrope of Realism vs Absurdity - 39:31 (Lacking a Moral - 42:36) Scenes of Heartbreak - 45:00 Happy Pills + Highlights - 47:34 Disney and Grossness - 51:45 Ending on More Happiness/Final Thoughts - 55:16 Your Homework/Coming Next for MMO - 58:17 Words of Wisdom/Social Media - 1:00:11 Yes, Also Mike promised an unsolicited Bruce Springsteen impersonation, and he gives it atop the show. He’s sorry. But we have an animated intro & a highly charged episode. Who knew this Pixar film would be the one to divide us?! This is our review of Ratatouille, part 6 of our Pixar Re-Watch. The History of the Pixar Company segment is basically the great summit at the dragon pits from last season of Game of Thrones. There’s a major stand-off between Pixar and Disney, and the strife carried over into the Pixar production team as well. It’s an interesting backstory, and we do think it had some effect on the finished film. The non-spoiler section also dove into many of the animation innovations in what might be the best looking visuals to date in a Pixar film. We also have some debate throughout the script thoughts before we dive into spoilers. So this review is much more mixed than we thought it would be. We can’t help it. Our hearts are hardened by (now) years of Oscar films studied, and we wonder why that might be, but also, there’s good reason for it. When in doubt, rely upon the 22 Rules of Pixar Storytelling to spark a good conversation on the script, and we certainly breakdown the many ups and downs of the plot. But of course, we love to love these movies, and this one is no exception. Coming soon to MMO, we’ll have our usual variety show on Tuesday’s MMO Weekly. Yes, we’ll review the new trailers for It: Chapter 2 & Judy. Yes, we’ll review episode 5 of Game of Thrones. And YES, we’ll have tons of awesome audience interaction after another tremendous week of chatting with you all on twitter & via #SixDegreesOfMMO. We’ll also have reviews of Detective Pikachu and Wall-E. Plus, we’re very happy to join the Epic Film Guys on Saturday 5/18 6pm for Livestream for the Cure. So do join us then if you can. As always, let us know what you thought of Ratatouille. We’re @MMandOscar on Twitter, and we are on Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and Gmail. You can subscribe / rate / review / like / share / & listen to us on iTunes, Soundcloud, Stitcher, Google Play, Tune In, Spotify, and just about wherever you listen to podcasts. In this replay of episode 9 Sarah talks about 3 books with young, male protagonists. First, she looks at the Fudge Series by Judy Blume, which centers on Peter and his little brother "Fudge." Fudge is little, cute, and opinionated, 3 things that drive Peter up the wall. Next, she talks about How to Eat Fried Worms by Thomas Rockwell where two boys make a bet that one of them can't eat 15 worms in 15 days. Grossness and hilarity ensue. Finally, she talks about the first book in Rachel Renee Russell's new series. Her protagonist is Max Crumbly, and things start out a little rough for him when he gets shoved in his locker by the class bully, but what Max does next makes him a fun and unlikely hero.As always, if you enjoyed the show, follow us and subscribe to the show: you can find us on iTunes or on any app that carries podcasts as well as on YouTube. A listener writes-in with another related situation. And an Irish family tries to capture a bat in their house, and it makes for some fascinating audio.
After our recording hiatus, we come back to talk about some really gross, disturbing, concerning stuff surrounding this season of Bachelor in Paradise. Heads up - this includes some descriptions of alleged sexual assault. We talk about our collective lack of surprise that this has happened and how this makes us feel about the franchise more broadly. If this discussion is not something you're comfortable listening to (trust us, we get it), please skip ahead to 21:55, where we talk about all the things we've been watching over our break.
It's one of the crappiest movies ever to have such vast success. Thanks teenage girls. This movie is a whole lot of visual pain and my brain hurts from knowing how stupid it is. Get ready for some real crummy science! The science....just one time open a book. Just once! So many explosions in space. So much NASA looking completely stupid. Ugh. Moving on... Despite how bad the science is, it's really the most forgivable part of this turd. This film suffers from "The Idiot Plot", in which the plot of the movie can only exist if everyone in the story is a complete and total moron. NASA makes the big mistake of sending a cadre of morons into space instead of their astronauts, don't bother to come up with plan B, spend all their time dinking around with driller training, and also being in charge of all life on Earth. Nice. Then there's Bruce Willy and team, who we can forgive because, well....they're idiots. They shouldn't even be up there! Lastly, there's the acting and the dialogue. It's shit-inducing. Ben Affleck and Liv Taylor are the most nausea promoting couple that's ever existed. They drip with cheese and both deserve to be punched square in the mouth. Send these two into space and leave them there place. Bruce Willis isn't much better but it's hard to compete with the vomit couple. Too long, too stupid, and too cheesy gross to view. A truly joyless experience. Steer clear.
