On this episode of Taste Buds with Deb, host Debra Eckerling speaks with Joshua Silverstein, an award-winning actor, comic, writer, allergy-culture advocate and food lover. Silverstein's creativity clearly lends itself well to the kitchen, especially since he needs to work around his many allergies. “My relationship with food has been challenging, it's been exciting, it's led to a lot of interesting stories,” he explains. The executive director of Cazadero performing arts camp, he is also a staple writer-performer at The Braid Jewish Theater Company. Silverstein's The Braid's shows include “True Colors,” “What A Surprise” and the upcoming “Hold Me, Heal Me,” as well as a solo show. “Because I'm a father with a multicultural family that leaves room for a lot of experimentation [especially since] my children also have allergies,” he says. Silverstein explains how he gets to be a “mad scientist” in the kitchen. Combine the mindset of exploration with being inclusive. “The kitchen should be a place of play and fun, and that's a privilege,” he believes. “Keep trying new things [and] keep being curious about what's on the other side of people's palates.” Joshua Silverstein talks about his upbringing, creativity in the kitchen, and how everything his family eats is a community project. He also shares about his grandmother's latke recipe, which you can get at JewishJournal.com/podcasts. There are also shout outs to Natasha Feldman, NoshwithTash.com, author of “The Dinner Party Project.” Learn more at JoshuaSilverstein.com and CazFamilyCamp.org. Somos espelhos. K sodelovanju vabi različne pevce, z Luko Uršičem Kalujem sta osnovala tudi duo Not Exactly Lost. Prek vsega tega ga spoznava širša, celo evrovizijska javnost. Prija tem napetim časom.« Slike z oddaje - Alan Orlič Odigrane skladbe: EESTI – Bowrain RESISTANCE – Bowrain WHILE WE WERE SLEEPING – Bowrain in Maša Bogataj SONG FOR GAZA (PESEM ZA GAZO) – Bowrain FREEDOM – Bowrain TOKYO – Not Exactly Lost HIGHER GROUND – Not Exactly Lost MALA OKNA – Not Exactly Lost FALLING – Bowrain in Marina Martensson ČAS JE – Bowrain in Kiki BREZ BESED – Bowrain

This week, Eric, Dan, and Emily discuss the recent decision in the 303 Creative from the Supreme Court. Is bad journalism the major culprit in people misunderstanding both the holding in the case, as well as the very facts of it? How much does it matter that it's a First Amendment speech case and not a First Amendment religious case? Next, they tackle the newly announced plan from the Biden administration to cancel a load of student loan debt and ask the question, this again? Then, they examine the story of Hunter Biden's daughter who has not been accepted or acknowledge by President Biden. Is it fair to hold this against him when making a political analysis of his fitness for the office? And finally, they look at two stories – the elevation of Archbishop Victor Manuel Fernández, who authored a book 30 years ago titled “Heal Me with Your Mouth. The Art of Kissing,” to the Vatican's Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, and the statements by Bishop Américo Aguiar about not seeking to convert people at World Youth Day – and ask the question: what's up with the Catholic Church? 303 Creative LLC v. Viola Murrone, affectionately dubbed our Virgo Queen (she will hold you accountable!) from Feel and Heal Me is a wise and worldly woman — born in Italy, but has spent many years living in Brazil, London and New York City. Her battle with chronic illness and life's hard events brought her back to reiki (her mom took her for the first time when she was 9, how cool btw) — where she learned how to work with her own energy and heal herself. The reiki healing was so profound that she left her career in the high fashion world and now is a practicing intuitive holistic health coach and crystal reiki healer. In this episode we chat about her healing journey, her no-nonsense approach to health care, self care and more. We loved this episode because Viola drops so many knowledge bombs and we got to cover some of our favorite topics. We hope you enjoy! XX, Ash + Dan ::: We would love to hear from you! Episode 130-Heal Me, Jesus The one thing that was at the top of my prayer list every year until I was 18 was healing for my mother's emotional illness. I kept praying for her, but it seemed her behaviors got worse instead of better. Still Dad said to pray because only God could heal her. It just seemed like maybe her issue was so hard even God couldn't heal her. I thought the same thing about myself when I weighed 430 pounds. I had gotten myself in such a mess even God couldn't help me. The truth is nothing is too hard for God, but sometimes we just need a little push from Him in the right direction. What we want to be a miraculous instantaneous deliverance may be God getting us to the point that we are finally read to walk out our journeys holding tight to Jesus. In this Episode I'm joined by special guest GLVES.GLVES (pronounced “gloves”) is a proud Kaurareg Aboriginal, Fijian and Polynesian woman. She is a Lutruwita (Tasmania) born, Kaurna (Adelaide) raised, and now Meanjin (Brisbane) based First Nations singer-songwriter. Raised in a fear-driven doomsday cult isolated from society, her culture and extended family, her music tells the story of her survival and self-sovereignty. Driven by a deep appreciation of her heritage, and a heartfelt longing to further connect with her cultures, GLVES' music and storytelling reflects an exploration of her emotional landscape to find self-love and healing; harmoniously weaving electronic elements, soothing vocal loops and percussive instruments to create an earnest representation of her inner-most thoughts. Your ability to sit with and feel safe expressing your emotions determines your ability to orgasm. How often have you been made to feel 'crazy' or 'too emotional' for fully expressing yourself? Do you remember being told as a young girl 'big girls don't cry', 'be quiet' or 'go take that noise outside'? Our whole lives we're taught that being fully expressive is a bad thing, and then we're expected to be wild, free, multi-orgasmic women in the bedroom.. I'm sorry but it doesn't work like that.. One component of orgasm is energy - right? And emotion is just energy in motion. You can't choose to feel some emotions and not others. Either you feel them all or you limit them all. So learn to feel safe to express ALL emotions and you'll reclaim your full orgasmic potential. Helllllllloooo freeeeeeeedom! Contemporary Christian Music artist Dallas Holm has been using his talents ministering since the mid-'60s. His 38 recordings have garnered gold records, multiple Dove awards, Grammy nominations, number one songs, and countless accolades. After decades of writing, singing and ministry in over 4,000 concerts in every state in the USA as well as many countries abroad, Dallas is in a new season in his life. Although there is less traveling and more staying home, this new season has allowed Dallas to develop new and even more efficient ways to communicate the gospel through Praise Ministries, including the "Here We Are" podcast. Every Tuesday, Dallas is joined by his daughter Jennifer as they share stories behind the songs, connect with God's word and provide encouragement through words of hope and comfort. This week's episode we hear about Dallas Holm's hit song, Heal Me.

It seems too often that euphemisms in our culture go beyond softening social interaction to propping up the powerful. This week Allen and Jeff explore euphemistic language in various Scriptures, political spin, and how it might create life (or manufacture manipulation) in our own speech. Maybe we don’t take language seriously enough? More pointedly, how do we choose between softening words to foster connection and, on the other hand, telling it like it is and speaking truth to power? Also in this episode Jeff and Allen bring back a classic segment formally called ‘Jesus or Jay-Z?’.
