Kathleen is currently working to become a life coach. Kathleen's unique approach to fitness and coaching—namely, that a person's mindset is more important as the number of hours they spend at the gym—sets her apart from many of her peers. Her commitment to improving the overall wellbeing of her clients, rather than just helping them hit a number on the scale and leaving it at that, comes from a place of knowing what it's like to hate your body, as she grew up overeating, sneaking junk food and using every excuse she could think of to get out of gym class. Eventually, she became her own health hero. Some topics we touched on during the podcast include: Why a growth mindset is crucially important when you're trying to meet fitness (or any) goals How to understand and utilize your brain chemistry to work for you. Why Kathleen believes people should ditch motivation and willpower. How to set up systems to save yourself from your future self What is the importance of mindset; specifically, a growth mindset? Why tracking is important, how best to do it, and how it keeps you accountable to yourself Why understanding hormones—especially dopamine—is important to achieving your goals Why noting your small victories is crucial to staying on track Why aiming for consistency over perfection is the key to maintaining a regular fitness practice How learning to embrace your bad days makes your good days even better SHOW LINKS: Website: http://www.kathleentrotter.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FITbyKathleenT/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/fitbykathleent/ Shop Eco-friendly & Sustainable fashion use code WITCHY for 20% off your purchase at Blair Lane Co. - www.blairlaneco.com Take the Anxious Personality Type Quiz: https://www.anxioustoaligned.com/quiz evo HEMP products: use code WITCHY for 20% off your purchase!

At 55, Deedee Moscoe looked around one day and realized her life needed a reboot. Caring for her aging parents left her without any time for her career—or herself. Deedee’s journey to remake her life is chronicled in a documentary called Hack Your Age, airing on Zoomer Media’s Vision TV. It’s also emblematic of the moment we’re in, as society returns to the next normal. With host Shaun Francis, Deedee explores a typically human dilemma with extraordinary honesty and humour.

Huawei today unveiled its ground-breaking HUAWEI Mate 30 Series at an exclusive launch event in Munich. The world’s first second-generation 5G smartphone provided the wow factor to audiences who were watching the live stream all over the world. Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, said: “The HUAWEI Mate 30 Series unleashes the full potential of the smartphone. The era of 5G is an opportunity to rethink smartphone technology and the HUAWEI Mate 30 series is the ultimate expression of what’s possible.” HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro introduces the Intuitive Side-touch Interaction feature to replace the side volume buttons with invisible virtual keys. This feature also allows users to customise the volume key position on either sides of the device and makes HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro the most integrated, all-in-one design smartphone currently available. Together, HUAWEI 3D Face Unlock and In-Screen Fingerprint provide high levels of biometric security and convenience. Turn the device over and the iconic ring design of the quad-camera system immediately stands out, surrounded by a metallic ‘halo’. Mirroring the design of a DSLR camera and designed to be held comfortably, the beautiful HUAWEI Mate 30 Series makes the user the focus of the crowd, attracting all the attention. The HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro also features HUAWEI Acoustic Display Technology to deliver high-quality audio through a sound-emitting display. There were also several other products such as the Watch GT 2, FreeBuds 3, and Vision TV unveiled too. But the biggest headline was the absence of Google's Apps. I wrote an article about how this could be a turning point for the tech industry on my weekly tech column at Tech HQ. But I invited Paul Lipscombe from Mobile News onto my podcast to share his thoughts on insights from the big event in Germany.
This week's episode of the Global Research News Hour is a rebroadcast of a round table discussion featuring the late investigative journalist and CIA whistleblower Michael C Ruppert. The talk was aired roughly on the 6 month anniversary of the September 11th attacks. The broadcaster, Canada's VISION TV, was the first national television network in the world to feature critical perspectives of the official story of the terrorist attacks that brought down the WTC towers, killed thousands and directly contributed to the so-called global war on terrorism. Panelists discussed the failure of standard aircraft intercept protocols, evidence of foreknowledge and guilty demeanour on the part of US officials, evidence of oil pipelines and Afghanistan drug production as a motive for the crime, the compromising of Canada's sovereignty, and the proper role of journalists as they covered this unique event and its consequences. Joining Ruppert on the panel were VISION TV Insight executive producer Rita Deverell, Journalist-educator Peter Desbarats, former chair of Canada's Security Intelligence Review Committee Ron Atkey QC., and peace activist and ethicist Phyllis Creighton. The Global Research News Hour gratefully acknowledges and thanks VISION TV for consenting to the rebroadcast of this content.

For guest Johann Matthies, his first encounter with Christ was exactly that. Born in the Soviet Union as a German deportee, Johann grew up with restricted rights in most aspects of life. He was taught Christian principles inside of the home, but as soon as he walked out the door each day, he was fed a different narrative. So how did Johann navigate this harsh reality, and how did he wind up serving Christ with his career when his environment demand he do the opposite? Who determines what is considered life? In pregnancy, is the baby considered alive at the moment of conception, or 9 months later when it enters the world? Does human life have intrinsic value? If so, when does that value begin? With so many different beliefs surrounding the sanctity of life, is there a place we can go to in order to get the answers we so desperately desire? Does our view of life line up with a theistic worldview, and can we defend what we believe? In part 2 of our interview with Stephanie Gray, president of “Love Unleashes Life”, Dr. John Neufeld asks questions surrounding the value of life. What does it mean to be made in the image of God? What does the Bible say about the value of life, and what conclusions do naturalist worldviews ultimately reach? Watch this episode and more, weekly on Vision TV. Recently we heard about gender bias with heart health…and worse outcomes for women than men with heart failure. Now, there's evidence the same is true for strokes. But doctors don't know all the reasons behind the gender bias. This past week, the 11th World Stroke Congress was held in Montreal. Dr. Patrice Lindsay, a director with the Heart and Stroke Foundation, presented this research which she shares with Libby. And – Staying healthy shouldn't be overly complicated. That's the message behind a groundbreaking new health show that premiered on Vision TV last week. It's called A User's Guide to Cheating Death. Libby caught up with series creator and host Timothy Caulfield to learn all about some of the trends and myths the show debunks.

Velcrow Ripper, Nova Ami and David Peck talk about the myth of Proteus, cynicism, grieving loss, submersive art, futurelessness and what wise and radical hope really looks like. Synopsis A poem for the planet, Nova Ami and Velcow Ripper’s film Metamorphosis takes the pulse of our Earth and bears witness to a moment of profound change: the loss of one world, and the birth of another. Metamorphosis captures the true scale of the global environmental crisis. Forest fires consume communities, species vanish, and entire ecosystems collapse. Economic growth, tied to increased speed of resource extraction, has created a machine with the capacity to destroy all life. But this crisis is also an opportunity for transformation. Through a tidal flow of stunning images, Metamorphosis carves a path from the present to the future, and offers a bold new vision for humanity and the world. In Milan, architects design vertical forests, urban towers covered with trees and bushes that reduce CO2, produce oxygen, and give new life to the city. In Phoenix, Arizona, swimming pools are repurposed into self-sustaining gardens, lush with plants and fish that generate food for people. In LA, installing solar panels in underserved neighbourhoods provides cleaner energy to families who normally would not be able to access it. Woven through these and other stories of creativity and reinvention from artists, scientists, thinkers, and young children are creative, systemic solutions for our planet, and for our communities as well. From the deep ecologic connection that humans share with each other, a radical form of hope emerges, vibrant and alive, like a chrysalis splitting open to reveal some new thing ready to take flight. Metamorphosis cinematically delves into how humanity is being transformed in new ways by the environmental crises we have created. Watch the trailer here. Biography Nova Ami creates socially relevant, thought-provoking films that inspire, educate, and empower. Her work has screened at international festivals including Hot Docs and IDFA, and has been broadcast on BBC, CBC, CTV, Super Channel, Vision TV, and SBS Australia. She directed the documentaries Say I Do (CTV, Vision TV), Secrets (CBC’s The Passionate Eye), and Peacing it Together (Red Storm Productions), and was a producer on Occupy Love (Super Channel, Free Speech TV) and Army of One (BBC, CBC, SBS Australia). She was host, director, and writer on the technology and innovation television series The Leading Edge (Knowledge Network), and was host and segment producer of GVTV, a series about urban issues in Vancouver. She has a master’s degree in Media Studies from the New School. Velcrow Ripper creates powerful, cinematic feature documentaries that deal with the central issues of our times. His epic “Fierce Light Trilogy” began with Scared Sacred, winner of the 2005 Genie Award for best feature documentary, continued with 2008’s award-winning Fierce Light and concluded with Occupy Love (2013). His first feature-length documentary, Bones of the Forest (1995, co-directed with Heather Frise) won nine awards, including Best of the Festival at Hot Docs and the 1996 Genie for best feature doc. He is well known for his award-winning sound design of such films as The Corporation (Best Sound, Leo Awards) and A Place Called Chiapas (Best Sound, Hot Docs, Leo Awards). Women In-Depth: Conversations about the Inner Lives of Women
Welcome to the podcast! Today I am very delighted to be joined by dreamer, writer, and artist Toko-pa Turner. Toko-pa was born in a farmhouse in Devon, England by a midwife to poet-parents. Because they liked the music saying it made, they named her after the Maori deity, Toko-pa, who is the “Parent of the Mist” according to the Maori creation myth. She came to Canada at the age of four, where her grandparents settled after the war in Poland, and was raised in a Sufi community in Montreal. Along with yoga, meditation, Sufi dancing and singing, dreaming was an everyday part of her culture. From a very young age, Toko-pa was encouraged to share and explore her vivid dreams. In her early twenties, Toko-pa toured with a band, eventually recording her first original album. It wasn’t until her mid-twenties that she returned to the mystical teachings of Sufism and the study of dreams. She became deeply interested in Analytical Psychology and did a 3-year internship at the Jung Foundation of Ontario, while pursuing her studies in spirituality, mythology and shamanism. In early 2001, she was awarded a scholarship to study with psycho-physiologist and lucid dreaming expert, Dr. Stephen LaBerge, in Hawaii. She spent the following year writing a documentary series, “Awake and Dreaming” which was picked up for development by Vision TV. Blending the mystical tradition of Sufism in which she was raised with a Jungian approach to dreamwork, Toko-pa founded the Dream School in 2001 from which hundreds of students have since graduated. Toko-pa has been interviewed by CNN News and BBC Radio and has a community of over 100,000 online readers. Her writing has been published worldwide, and she is currently releasing her first book “Belonging” which explores the themes of exile, and the search for belonging. Sometimes called a Midwife of the Psyche, Toko-pa’s work focuses on restoring the feminine, reconciling paradox, and facilitating grief and ritual practice. You can find Toko-pa on her beloved Facebook page “Dreamwork with Toko-pa” or on her website at toko-pa.com.

The old boys club of late night talk shows is about to be injected with an atomic shot of millennial female. Welcome to the final taping of Marty O’Malley’s Early Late Show, where heir apparent to the host chair, comedienne Sarah Goldberg (Kat Letwin ) is about the fill the very large shoes of reluctant retiree Marty O’Malley (Alon Nashman). The kicker? The Early Late Show is going LIVE, for the first time in 22 years. To commemorate the passing of the torch, long time executive producer of The Early Late Show has organized to have Marty and Sarah share the host chair. A mistake, that may be the first and last of her career, after a freudian slip throws the taping into chaos.Housed in media mogul Moses Znaimer Zoomerplex, The Zoomer Live Theatre, will serve as both a theatre and TV studio for Late Night. The theatrical event will be recorded live for broadcast on Vision TV, providing an interesting meta theatrical TV experiment for both the audience and creative team. Kat Sandler’s original script, which won the Fringe 24 hour playwriting contest in 2014 caught Znaimer's interest due to its unique examination of ageism in the media and entertainment sector. The generational partnership between Canada’s best known media mogul and it’s hottest young playwright has created the perfect breeding ground for the next theatrical smash hit of the year.Late Night Opens Oct 7, 2016Kat Letwin:http://letwinka.tumblr.com/@letwinkaMichael Musi@michaelmusiKate Sandler@katsandlerTheatre Brouhahahttp://www.theatrebrouhaha.com/@TheatreBrouhahaZoomer Live TheatreStageworthy:http://www.stageworthypodcast.com Twitter @stageworthyPod Facebook: http://facebook.com/stageworthyPod

“Belonging spins itself out from the center of the Self in the form of dreams and synchronicity. These living images call the dreamer forward, step by tentative step along their gossamer threads, into an increasingly intimate conversation with our lives and embodiment of our soul’s values until we find ourselves anchored in a meaningful life.” —Toko-paSometimes called a “midwife of the psyche,” Toko-pa has been working with dreams for over 15 years. Her approach to dream work is influenced by the work of Jung and grounded in the mystical tradition of Sufism in which she was raised. She will be speaking at the Matter and Psyche Symposium in Joshua Tree.In 2001, Toko-pa founded the Dream School from which hundreds of students have now graduated. Listen as Janét interviews the incredibly talented Brenda MacIntyre, a Medicine Song Woman, who is a healer, business coach, spiritual mentor and award-winning singer. She helps women healers who are struggling with getting clients, to express themselves and their sacred power with confidence and charisma, and enrol committed clients, so they can make a massive difference in the world AND enjoy the freedom and prosperity they deserve. Brenda has been invited to speak and perform across North America, with TV and radio appearances across Canada. She has shared the stage with best-selling authors Dr. Masaru Emoto, Shakti Gawain and Gregg Braden. Brenda's latest CD, which earned her a nomination for a 2010 Canadian Folk Music Award, can be heard on the radio across Canada and the United States and she is being featured in an upcoming national TV documentary on Vision TV about the 2012 phenomenon. Brenda MacIntyre’s career began in 1985 when she moved to Toronto after both her adoptive parents had died. Her first hit single (“Non Stopping Hip Hopping,” Moods International Records, Florida) was charted as a “hot new item” on North Miami’s Top 40 station WPOW 96FM. Brenda’s second single, a substance abuse prevention awareness song, was featured on “The Gathering” compilation released by Attic Records in Toronto. In 1992, the CD won a Juno Award and Brenda earned a Canadian Reggae Music Award nomination. But behind the scenes, she was a single mom in a holding pattern of financial struggle and low self-esteem. After reconnecting with her Aboriginal heritage, and getting her self-esteem back, she created her highly sought-after signature seminar Sing Your Self Alive, which has since helped thousands of women across the nation to build their self-confidence. In Canada’s capital region, she is renowned for helping women to find their voice. In 2007 she was nominated for an Aboriginal People’s Choice Award and named Toronto’s Aboriginal Businesswoman of the Year. Today Brenda MacIntyre is mentor, coach and healer to women healers worldwide, using her natural healing abilities and down to earth spiritual guidance, combined with 14 years of motivational speaking and creative online marketing experience – and her powerful healing voice.
