Are you ready to be a part of this life-changing journey? You can find all the details and sign-up at: www.gpartners.org/tour Now back to Luke! You might have noticed that we didn'tfinish the last two verses of Luke 11. After Jesus' scathing rebuke and condemnationupon the Pharisees and the Lawyers, it appears instead of repenting and seekingHis mercy, they were overcome with rage and anger. Hypocrites do not want theirsins exposed; it hurts their reputation. They deliberately began to attack Himwith "catch questions" in hopes they could trap Him in some heresyand then arrest Him. What a disgraceful way to treat the Son of God. Verse 53 says: “The Lawyers and the Pharisees began toassail Him vehemently”. I can only imagine that they are shouting andyelling at Him very loudly! There was already a crowd outside and maybe Jesusis trying to leave the house with His disciples, but the commotion is so loudthat the crowd grows larger so that, according to Luke 12:1, they are tramplingupon one another. We are not sure where Jesus was at this time but according toLuke 9:51, He had set His face to go to Jerusalem and it appears that He wassomewhere in the region of Samaria that was between Galilee and the city ofJerusalem. Remember also at this time, Jesus has been ministering and healingpeople for over three years. Hundreds and most likely thousands of blind peoplehave received their sight, the lame and sick have been healed, and hungry peoplehave been miraculously fed! The crowds want to see more miracles and they arecurious with all the commotion going on. Yet with all this happening, Jesus turns His attention toHis disciples and warns them to “beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, whichis hypocrisy”. Not only can the religious leaders have a problem with hypocrisy, but the close followers of Jesus can face the same temptation. If we are not careful,we can become “pretenders” trying to get people to think better of us than wereally are. May the Lord help us today to heed His warning of hypocrisyin our own lives. God bless!

This episode was recorded last week on a road trip I did in Kirgizstan with my good friend, Cynthia. We've done this before when we did another drive through Saudi Arabia. It's basically about choosing between two travel related bucket list things – and a great way of getting to talk about travel. This time we've asked ChatGPT to give us the questions: Would you rather: … hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru or the Torres del Paine Circuit in Chile? … take a hot air balloon ride over Cappadocia in Turkey or watch the Northern Lights from a glass igloo in Finland? … camp under the stars in Wadi Rum desert in Jordan or in the Sahara Desert in Morocco? … attend the Rio Carnival in Brazil or the Holi Festival of Colours in India? … visit the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt or the Moai statues on Easter Island in Chile? … explore the fjords of New Zealand or the Scottish Highlands? … take a scenic train ride through the Swiss Alps or the Rocky Mountains in Canada? I hope you will play along. Let me know what you think of what we say in the comments on Facebook or YouTube. I'll be ready with a regular travel episode next Tuesday.

“On 5th September 2022, full of excitement for what lay ahead, I began my run from Land's End to John O'Groats to show others that despite life throwing curveballs our way we can still achieve. I intended to cover a distance of 40-50 miles a day for 20 days, a total of approximately 855 miles, aiming to become the world's fastest female, with single-sided deafness, to complete this journey by foot. However, after 4 days of running in continual torrential rain, things went very wrong on day 5." During this episode Sara shares more about her run from Lands End to John O'Groats, the challenges, the setbacks and how she moved forward after failure. We discuss in detail her recovery, the changes she made and how she moved forward and tried again. This is an episode about endurance running, passion for making a difference and never giving up. Sara is a brain tumour survivor who is giving back. “Brain tumours kill more adults and children under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease.” Sara is fundraising for British Acoustic Neuroma Association and Manchester Skull Base Foundation (FBT). Sara is also the founder of: The Beyond Recovery Project. “It's all about bringing together others on the same or similar journey, creating a ‘safe' space and sense of community, where brain tumour survivors can share experiences and discover how to push beyond the physical and psychological barriers they face together. It's very much nature based, so walks, hikes, challenges. Lots of talking therapy - because you can't beat sharing what you're going through with someone else who has been in that place. It also aims to bridge the gap in some services post treatment, when you're considered ‘fixed'.” Upcoming events in 2024 May - Toubkal with a group of brain tumour survivors June - Hiking the Langtang valley, Nepal. September - The Wadi Rum Ultra (now known as Ultra X Jordan). 220km over 5 days in the Wadi Rum desert. We first spoke with Sara: 15th March 2022 - Overcome fear and achieve your potential.
