On this episode of March Forth with Mike Bauman, Mike chats with Nick Karcher! Hailing from Chicago, Nick Karcher is a singer-songwriter in the pop punk vein who has loved music since childhood. Nick went from singing Avril Lavigne songs as a kid to working with one of her multi-platinum producers in Michael Bono (Avril Lavigne, Blink-182, Mod Sun, The Hunna, TSTY) as an adult. In 2021, Nick turned heads in the pop punk realm with his single "How to Lose a Guy." Since then, Nick has released numerous singles and continues to build a following, garnering attention from the likes of Ghost Killer Entertainment, Scene Daddy, and New Noise Magazine, among others. In May 2024, he dropped the single entitled "Blame it on the Universe" about a breakup he went through. That July, Karcher teamed up with We The Kings for a remix of the song called "BIOTU." The track went on to dominate the All New Rock editorial playlist on Spotify and has since racked up over 200,000 streams across all platforms. On February 7th, Karcher released his latest single entitled "Not Another Song Called Perfect" with an accompanying music video, an anthemic love song that's also a playful nod to early 2000s parody films. In this episode, Nick talks with Mike about his early love for singing and Avril Lavigne, the adversity he faced at a young age with coming out, persevering through that bullying and negativity to chase his dreams, working with the talented Michael Bono, the meaning behind "Not Another Song Called Perfect," horror movies, future plans, and more. This episode also features the aforementioned "Not Another Song Called Perfect" from Nick Karcher, available where you get your music! Follow Nick Karcher on Instagram @itsnickkarcher. This EP featured collaborations with chart topping artists like Sonny Sandoval of P.O.D, Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens, Trenton Woodley of Hands Like Houses and Sydney Rae White of The Wild Things, and received critical acclaim from both press and fans alike, while racking up millions of streams across DSPs. In 2013 the band that would later become ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) was born. However this band was named Super NintenBros. Vocalist and Guitar player Sidney Pierce, And Vocalist and Guitar player Steven Berroteran, had a vision of making awesome music which blended metal with many other genres, but doing it in a way that was still accessible to the largest number of people possible. “Metal is slept on” -Sidney Pierce After playing many local shows however, The journey was unfortunately cut short. Steven moved further away, had a kid, and was very busy in with his masters program, and Sidney had decided to pursue a career in the restaurant industry working very long managerial hours. So after 2 years the group slowly fizzled out. Sidney stopped playing guitar basically entirely for roughly three years after that. Steve on the other hand went on to play in an actual metal band Decipher The Fallen about a year later. Then one day Sid had, had enough of the mundane and picked up his guitar. Shocked by the high quality of what he produced he decided to reach out to Steve. “Bro listen to this tite s***” And Steve agreed, it was tite. They both admitted that they missed the old group. Not just the fun of playing with each other, but also the SOUND. So they decided to give it one more shot. They immediately started writing songs and booking shows as quickly as possible and even began to gain some momentum, winning the battle of the bands at Sac State in 2017, and opening for We The Kings. The momentum, however, wasn't enough. Still not seeing the results they had hoped for with their music they decided, hopefully, to try shifting their focus from playing shows, to marketing and making internet content. So in addition to playing shows they invested money into adds, they worked with agencies to help grow their social media, they started a YouTube Channel, they released singles, they released lyric videos, they gave away shirts, they gave away sunglasses with their logo, they gave away stickers, but unfortunately nothing seemed to work… So one last strategy was still worth trying…. “Let's just make an album so good that people can't ignore us” -Sidney So Sidney got a new laptop. Sidney got new speakers. Sidney got a music interface. Sidney bought a soundproof sheet to make a makeshift studio is his bedroom. Sidney got Logic Pro X. Sidney got a ton of plug ins. Then Sidney taught himself how to use it all and proceeded to record the album that changed everything. Having no formal training, once Sidney had reached the limits of he could do Sid and Steve outsourced the rest of the project (mixing/mastering) to Arthur Indrikov. A producer in London England who was ecstatic to finally work with real instruments again lol During this portion of the process however something happened they caught both Sid and Steve off guard… What they got back from Arthur sounded GOOD. They had anticipated something great, but what they got back, to them, sounded BETTER. they knew they were on the right track, but something still felt off… and it was the brand. Super NintenBros was a fun band. It was a party band. It was a group of people that you wanted to get trashed with. But it was not to be taken seriously. But Sid and Steve knew that this album, WAS to be taken seriously. Their goal was to make music so good that it gave people goose bumps/chills so they thought it fitting to have a name and brand that reflected that. ASMR was born. It was no longer enough to just make good music. The goal became to change the entire music game. Blending as many genres as possible, in the most accessible way, to bring together people from different backgrounds and give the current radio culture a run for its money by progressing the standard of music as a whole. That's also how the name of the album Alternative Progress came to be. Now, after feeling as though they achieved their goal of creating something so spectacular it would have to grab people's attention. They are poised for lift off looking for the proper channels to help take them to the public.

The complete 32 episodes of The Great Song Adventure podcast hosted by Louise Goffin & Paul Zollo can be found on thegreatsongadventure.com.       Sam Hollander has a career that any aspiring songwriter or producer would envy and happily step in the shoes of for even a day. He's written and/or produced over 20 US Top 40 Pop Hits and had numerous worldwide top-charting songs including Panic! at the Disco's worldwide #1 "High Hopes". Visiting the YouTube channels of the bands and artists he's worked with, one quickly sees that his songs have been streamed by not just millions, but by billions. In 2019 he held the #1 position on the Billboard Rock Songwriters chart for nine weeks, a year-end record.   In September of 2019, in a relaxed and intimate conversational setting, Sam sat down to talk with Louise Goffin about his life before and after his success and revealed an inspiring story of perseverance and likable-guy determination. Listen and find out more!   Once an academically-challenged teenager who couldn't understand what he'd read, and who felt like a misfit in school, Sam Hollander spent his his youth trying to find a way to engage with the world with his love of music, surrounded by a family of high-achieving creative parents. His story is an inspiration for the many kids in schools who are mischaracterized as "failing" when they simply find it hard to engage in school systems or are unable to demonstrate their gifts through standardized testing. Sam was determined to either work with the artists who would be chart-toppers or to create them himself by developing and helping unknown talent, writing their hit songs. His genuine love of music and the music business, along with his talent for production and rhymes, eventually led to a transformation of his situation as he began writing and producing worldwide hits for the likes of Fitz and The Tantrums, Panic! at the Disco, One Direction, Carole King, Ringo Starr, Sugar Ray, Gym Class Heroes, Tom Jones, Chiddy Bang, Weezer, We The Kings, Sugar Ray and more.       Louise Goffin & Sam Hollander  September 2019  Hollywood, California     "High Hopes" from the Panic! at the Disco video                      Fitz and The Tantrums              Weezer   "CheckYes Juliet"                               Carole King "Love Makes The World"                      .                   Panic! at the Disco "Hey Look Ma, I Made It"  #1 US ROCK SONGS, #3 US HOT AC, #5 US ALTERNATIVE, #6 US TOP 40. RIAA certified PLATINUM, 2019 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS ROCK SONG OF THE YEAR.

Gregory Iron sits down with San Antonio-based Heavy Metal Wrestling promoters Dylan Dunbar & Nerd Rock Josh to talk Texas life and bad pro wrestling! On December 23rd, 2019 Heavy Metal Wrestling will begin streaming all 50 episodes of their unique and entertaining weekly series "Thunder" FOR FREE on Twitch. While Heavy Metal will still be running monthly events, the weekly series came to a close this past November. Promoters and producers "Nerd Rock" Josh Del Barrio and Dylan Dunbar discuss how running weekly shows benefitted Texas wrestling, as well as Heavy Metal's creation.   Dunbar talks entering the business, training under the guidance of Kaientai member and Smackdown's #1 announcer -- Funaki, and Greg and Dunbar discuss an unbelievable incident that occurred between a terrible Texas pro wrestler named "Massive" and a fan sitting front row. Greg talks to Josh about touring with the band "We The Kings," the time he had to run to the video store to let Shawn Michaels borrow a DVD, and that other time he hung out at HBK's mom's house. This trio also discusses some of their favorite terrible pro wrestling matches, wrestler names, and so much more!   Before the podcast, Greg chats with Aaron about his insane travel weekend, going from Chicago to Buffalo on no sleep, wrestling Tommy Dreamer and taking an insane move from the top rope. Aaron discusses his return to pro wrestling commentary for one night only and tells us about the time Rod Destiny decided to change the National Anthem at a wrestling event. Also, we bring you an all-new "Hulk Hogan Lie of the Week," featuring Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels, and sticking with the bad wrestling theme, Greg plays a terrible promo from "Mr. RBI" Izeah Bonds.   - - - Gregory Iron wrestles with cerebral palsy, a neurological disorder that affects the mobility of his right arm, hand and fingers. There are two types of people. Those who love pop punk and everything that comes along with it and those who are wrong. A genre full of fun filled memories, growth and development relatability and albums which stand the test of time and cement themselves as some of the best soundtracks to your life. That last statement can be said for the band our next guest fronts who are about to embark on an Anniversary Tour of Australia where they'll not only play that debut album in full, but also feature new tracks from their forthcoming release. **We The Kings** are the band and **Travis** **Clark** is the legend joining us for Episode #26 of **_Wall of Sound: Up Against The Wall_**. Even though their debut self-titled album has become such an iconic legacy for the group of musicians, Travis still can't come to terms with the fact fans compare it to the workings of other bands such as **blink-182, Jimmy Eat World** and **Coldplay**. He also delves into his newfound world of fatherhood and reveals that no matter how much of a big time famous musicians he is portrayed to be, he's immediately brought back down to earth when he has to change nappies and do Daddy duties when he's not on tour. Speaking of pop punk, there's plenty of throwbacks to the _2000_'s era of that genre with tracks from **New Found Glory, Good Charlotte, Cobra Starship, Boys Like Girls, Paramore, Hey Monday, The Maine** and **Panic! @ The Disco** + another contribution for our new segment '**_Two Songs That Changed Me_**' featuring a pop punk loving photographer with a keen ear for great music. #WoSUATW #PopPunk #Podcast #MusicPodcast #WeTheKings #TravisClark #CheckYesJuliet #AllTimeLow #HeyMonday #TheMaine #CobraStarship #Makeout #blink182 #NewFoundGlory #PanicAtTheDisco #Paramore #TonightAlive #FallOutBoy #BoysLikeGirls #WallOfSoundAU

Ted Barton first stepped on a comedy stage as a junior at the University of Central Florida. Since then, he’s even followed an acoustic set at an open mic by the lead singer of “We The Kings” and recently did a show in New York City. In this episode, Ted and I talk about how doing comedy allowed him to be more creative at solving problems, have better analytical skills and, most importantly, develop his true self. He worked in several internships through college and noticed a common denominator of people not sharing their personal lives for fear of appearing less professional. But Ted feels the culture can be improved, started with the firm leadership, “but it can stop with the individual if they have some bad preconceived notions.”

Hailing from Orlando, FL., “Like the Movies” was formed in February of 2012 but band members Chris Ganoudis and Nick Davila have been performing together since 2008. As they began to create the LTM sound, they headed to Nashville and started working on new music. The band released their first EP during the Summer of 2013. This episode is an older one from about two/three years ago that I did with Travis Clark of We The Kings.Travis was a very cool guy and it was great to talk with him. This episode is this first episode I am using "throwback Thursday" to post. Please keep in mind listening to this interview that things have changed a bit including how these interviews have been distributed, as I used to type all of these out, hopefully explaining why this interview may feel more structured than my newer podcasts.Enjoy! #tbt
