RHLSTP Book Club #185 - Death by Noir - Rich meets Britain's favourite wine expert (possibly) Olly Smith to talk about his Wine Crime Book, Death by Noir. They talk about how he isn't just another celebrity cashing in with murder mystery books, as he was already an award winning writer, how he became a wine expert, whether there are any good non-alcoholic or English wines, why he wanted to write about a wine drinking amateur detective, being mistaken for a popular kids TV character, how the book is a love letter to not just wine and the process of making it, but the town of Lewes and the eccentric people who live there, doing a podcast with P!nk, the bits of England that remain very much themselves, whether anyone can really tell what wine smells of and the exciting possibility of turning the book into a TV show or film and what it's like finally working with his brother Will Smith (not that one)Buy the book here - https://uk.bookshop.org/p/books/death-by-noir-olly-smith/7973486SUPPORT THE SHOW!See details of the RHLSTP LIVE DATES Watch our TWITCH CHANNELBecome a badger and see extra content at our WEBSITE Buy DVDs and books from GO FASTER STRIPEAudio mix by Ben Evans (NTO)Thanks to Chris Evans (NTO)Recorded at the Podcast Room Hosted on Acast. What do you need to know before selling your business to an ETA buyer? Most owners have received the email. It usually starts with something flattering: "I love what you've built…" Then comes the ask: a quick call to learn more about your business. Increasingly, those emails are coming from ETA buyers — entrepreneurs using entrepreneurship through acquisition as their path into business ownership. Instead of starting a company from scratch, they look to buy an existing business and run it themselves. In this episode of Built to Sell Radio, John Warrillow talks with Will Smith, host of Acquiring Minds, one of the leading podcasts covering entrepreneurship through acquisition. Will has interviewed hundreds of ETA buyers and brings rare insight into how they think, how they finance deals, and where deals fall apart. What You'll Learn in This Episode Whether you're actively considering selling your business or just exploring your options, this conversation covers what every owner should understand before entertaining an offer from an ETA buyer: How to tell the difference between a funded searcher and a self-funded buyer — and why it matters for your deal structure Why some ETA buyers use heavy debt to acquire a business — and what that means for you as a seller How to spot the hidden risk in a seller note — a key piece of most ETA transactions How to evaluate whether a young buyer has the leadership experience to run your company after you exit How to protect your employees from a buyer who may not fit your culture Better questions to ask before signing a letter of intent (LOI) with an ETA buyer How to judge whether a buyer can actually close — not just sign Are ETA Buyers Right for Your Business? ETA buyers can be a great fit for owners of profitable niche businesses that may not attract private equity or a strategic acquirer. They're often motivated, passionate, and willing to pay fair value for the right business. But they come with real risks. A buyer may need your financing — in the form of a seller note — to get the deal done. They may still need to raise money after you sign an LOI. And they may look great on paper but struggle to lead the team you've built over years. That's why this conversation is worth your time. Before you take the next call from someone who says they "love what you've built," listen to this episode. About Will Smith Will Smith is the host of Acquiring Minds, a podcast dedicated to entrepreneurship through acquisition. He has interviewed hundreds of search fund entrepreneurs and self-funded searchers, making him one of the most knowledgeable voices on the ETA buyer landscape. About Built to Sell Radio Built to Sell Radio is hosted by John Warrillow, author of Built to Sell: Creating a Business That Can Thrive Without You. Each week, John interviews business owners who have navigated the process of selling their company — sharing what worked, what didn't, and what every owner should know before they sell. I'm revisiting one of my favorite conversations with bestselling author Steven Pressfield, whose wisdom on fear, resistance, and creativity has inspired millions. If you've been sitting on an idea, delaying your next move, or wondering why the work that matters most feels the hardest to begin, this episode will give you the perspective—and the push—you need. When Steven Pressfield published The Legend of Bagger Vance, many called him an overnight success. What they didn't see were the 30 years of failed novels, unproduced screenplays, and stretches of homelessness that came before it.Few conversations left an impact on me as this one did. Steven is now in his eighties and still creating, doing what he loves, and showing no signs of stopping. I never thought about fear the same after this podcast, thanks to Steven's words. Watch the full episode here: https://youtu.be/K3Z8bcnvNlU "It's like the old story of an overnight success that only takes you 30 years." ~ Steven PressfieldIn This Episode:- Finding your authentic creative voice- How to work with the muse- A simple process for developing great ideas- Why resistance means you're on the right path- Self-doubt as a sign of growth- What a shadow career really isAbout Steven PressfieldSteven Pressfield is the author of The War of Art, which has sold over a million copies worldwide and has become essential reading for writers, artists, and entrepreneurs. His debut novel, The Legend of Bagger Vance, was made into a film starring Matt Damon and Will Smith. His other novel, Gates of Fire, is required reading at West Point. Before his breakthrough at 52, he spent decades failing as a novelist and screenwriter, at times living out of his car. Shohei Ohtani is dealing with inflammation in his left knee that isn't going away, but he's still found a way to be productive, including hitting a game-winning home run on Tuesday. Ohtani on Wednesday gave up a four-run inning, just the second multi-run frame against him all season. But he still completed six innings in the win, something he's done in 11 of his 12 starts. The blister on his right hand has bugged him for a few starts and busted open during Wednesday's game. Plus, Justin Wrobleski stayed hot and worked quick to beat the Rays in under two hours, on four days of rest. Will Smith won't be ready to return this Friday, as he still works through his neck inflammation. Teoscar Hernández might be ready for a rehab assignment next week. Brock Stewart is getting closer to a return as well, likely throwing on back-to-back days in the minors this week. The Three-Inning Save is part of Bleav Network. Sacrilegious Sunday is back, and this one goes from Hollywood acting debates to full-blown current-events chaos.Chino, Homeboy, and the crew open with the eternal question: Denzel Washington vs. Will Smith, one-take greatness, Training Day, Malcolm X, Glory, After Earth, Mark Wahlberg, and why some actors have magic while others just memorize the damn script. Then the show swerves into the news: Charlie Kirk free-speech fallout, people getting fired or arrested over social media posts, First Amendment lawsuits, settlements, and why everyone suddenly remembers free speech when the consequences start costing real money. From there, the military-veteran segment kicks in hard: veteran mental health, DD-214 life, military trauma, civilian coworkers, social anxiety, sleep deprivation, CPAP survival, and the secret inner violence of trying to complete a grocery list without losing your soul.A brand-new blue fish gets discovered in Venezuela… and Chino & Homeboy immediately prove why the internet should not be allowed to name anything. This episode kicks off with the viral fish-naming chaos: Bonnie Blue, blue waffle jokes, “Finding Cleto,” Victoria's Secret, and a full David Attenborough-level breakdown of one of the most cursed marine biology conversations ever recorded. From there, the show goes completely off the rails into AI restrictions, Uncle Sam killing Chino's coding momentum, public car hookup laws, OnlyFans creator drama, police videos, military gym roasting, Filipino culture fights, earthquake stories, Jollibee damage, Deadpool, He-Man, World Cup immigration chaos, and more unfiltered podcast madness. If you like dark comedy, military humor, internet culture, AI rants, pop culture arguments, adult jokes, and two dudes turning every topic into a crime scene, this one is for you.In this episode:New blue fish discovery, viral fish name suggestions, AI model drama, government restrictions, car sex legality, OnlyFans entitlement, police misconduct, military fitness fails, Filipino food, Philippines earthquake, Jollibee collapse, Deadpool, He-Man, World Cup visas, immigration talk, soccer, and Chino & Homeboy being absolutely wrong for two hours.Like, subscribe, comment, and tell us what you would name the fish.#ChinoAndHomeboy #ComedyPodcast #FunnyPodcast #DarkHumor #PodcastClips #BlueFish #InternetCulture #AIPodcast #MilitaryHumor #FilipinoHumor #MexicanHumor #OnlyFansDrama #Deadpool #HeMan #WorldCup #UnfilteredComedyTimecodes00:00 Intro / Sacrilegious Sunday01:37 Uncle Sam, AI restrictions, and Chino's coding rage08:42 New blue fish discovered in Venezuela13:19 Fish sushi question sends everything downhill21:11 Pinot Grigio jail-smuggling story31:20 Historical medical devices and cursed internet research42:26 Trans dating debate46:18 Cop video and public hookup laws52:06 OnlyFans creator collab drama01:04:49 Secretary of War Crimes gym roast01:24:09 Body found in San Diego Bay01:31:11 Bonnie Blue pregnancy controversy01:38:03 Dean Cain, Supergirl, and Millie Alcock01:57:19 Philippines earthquake and Jollibee damage02:04:14 Deadpool02:10:17 He-Man / Masters of the Universe02:16:14 Bachelor party and soccer confusion02:18:50 USA vs Paraguay02:20:24 World Cup visas and immigration chaos02:23:13 Outro

Alanna Rizzo and Clint Pasillas break down all the action in game 2 of the 3 game series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates. And a wierd one it was. Shohei Ohtani made his 11th start of the season and wasn't bad, but put together his worst start of the season while battling the heat, humidity, and a lingering blister on his pitching hand. The story of the game, however, was the bullpen implosion. Are we worried about Kyle Hurt following another rough outing? Clint and Alanna discuss. Plus, Will Smith is heading to the injured list and Kyle Tucker performs well for DT postgame shows, on this edition of Dodgers Territory.

On the positive side, Tarik Skubal, Cole Ragans, Casey Mize, and Brandon Woodruff are all making visible progress toward returning. Dillon Dingler, Jac Caglianone, Matt Olson, Bryce Eldridge, and Nick Kurtz lead a deep list of top daily performers. Conversely, Dalton Rushing, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Adolis Garcia, and Freddy Peralta struggled heavily in yesterday's action. We evaluate the rotating segment to decide if it is time to cut ties with Maikel Garcia, Jose Altuve, Emmet Sheehan, or Aaron Nola. He posted 400 times on Instagram with 50 followers. Most people would have quit. James Dumoulin just kept going. I've been waiting to have this young man on for a while, and he did not disappoint. At 23 years old, James has built something I genuinely did not think was possible at this age: 21 million followers, 200 million views a month, 70 employees, and 48 billionaire interviews including Tom Cruise, Tom Brady, Will Smith, and Reid Hoffman. He built all of it from scratch, starting as a Chick-fil-A employee who saw TikTok as a marketing engine before anyone else did. James is the co-founder of the School of Hard Knocks, and what he has learned sitting across from the wealthiest people in the world will hit you in the best way possible. In this conversation, we go deep on what it actually takes to build something great when you have no connections, no credibility, and no one betting on you. James breaks down the exact strategy he used to get into rooms most people will never see, including how he cold-approached Mark Cuban at South by Southwest with nothing but nerve and a borrowed title. We talk about what the wealthiest people in the world actually have in common, whether money buys happiness, and why your age, your background, or your starting point is not the obstacle you think it is. James also gets honest about the moments where it almost fell apart, including the day their revenue dropped from $30,000 a month to under $5,000 overnight and what he did to rebuild. This is one of the most practical, fire conversations I've had in a long time, and James is the real deal. Here's what you'll gain from this episode: The Authority Hack: How James borrowed credibility he didn't have yet to get in rooms most people will never see, and how you can do it starting today with what you already have. Billionaires Think in Decades: The single mindset shift James observed in every billionaire he's interviewed, and why your obsession with the short term is the real thing holding you back. Concentration Builds Wealth: Why trying to do too many things too early is the silent killer of most businesses, and what the wealthiest people actually do first. The Rejection Blueprint: Why James says "no" just means "not yet," and how posting 400 times with 50 followers is what actually built a business doing $700,000 a month. Are Billionaires Actually Happy? What James has witnessed behind the scenes with some of the most successful people in the world, and the one thing the happiest ones all have in common. This is one of those conversations that changes the way you think about what's actually possible. Don't miss this one! What if, today, you could “buy” a $500K/year income stream? You could replace your salary. You could become the boss immediately and reach financial freedom faster. It's not a gimmick, it's not a scheme, it's something much more boring than that. In this episode, we're talking about how to buy a business, especially small businesses, with Acquiring Minds' Will Smith. Will spends his days interviewing the overlooked, but highly profitable, business owners who do exactly what we're talking about today—find a boring business, buy it, improve it, profit, and repeat. Even the small businesses Will mentions can earn their owners hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. So, how do you get in on it? Will breaks down who should buy one of these businesses, where to find businesses for sale, how much they sell for, the returns you can expect, and the best business types to buy. Dave is heavily considering buying a business to complement his real estate portfolio. And after this episode, you'll probably be feeling the same. In This Episode We Cover DON'T build a business, buy instead: entrepreneurship through acquisition (ETA) explained How much small businesses make (they can replace your salary!) The best business types to buy that have consistent, safe revenue What any beginner can do right now to find businesses for sale Who should (and should not) buy a small business, and how much they sell for And So Much More!
