Send us a textAuthentic Worship vs Cultural Compromise: A Wake-Up Call with Reverend Ben CooperWhat happens when worldly rhythms infiltrate our worship? In this powerful and timely episode of Christian Straight Talk, Reverend Ben Cooper strips away the layers of compromise and emotionalism in modern Christian culture to reveal the true heart of worship—Scripture, prayer, and spiritual breakthrough.Reverend Ben opens with a bold question: Have we allowed the culture of the world to dictate the sound of the church? He challenges what he calls the “weak, woke, and worldly” direction of today's worship music, warning that many songs now reflect secular patterns more than they do the sacred power of the Holy Spirit. While emotional highs are common, Cooper explains, genuine breakthrough is rare without the Word of God anchoring our worship.Drawing from Acts 16, Cooper unpacks the story of Paul and Silas singing Psalms in prison, demonstrating how Scripture-based worship carries a unique spiritual authority. He urges believers to rediscover the power of daily prayers rooted in the Psalms—especially Psalm 23—which he claims can accomplish more in spiritual warfare than many popular worship songs ever could. “If you want breakthrough, prayer starts—and from prayer, worship flows,” he declares with conviction. This message isn't about style—it's about spiritual depth. Reverend Ben walks listeners through Romans 15:13, emphasizing that true joy and peace come from the God of hope, not from fleeting emotional moments. He addresses the inner conflict that so many believers face today—faith vs. fear—and uses the vivid imagery of “two boxers in the ring” to describe the intensity of the spiritual battle within. One of the most powerful moments in this episode is his reflection on the woman with the issue of blood from Luke 8. Using this story as a metaphor, Cooper asks: Are you willing to get low, to fight through the crowd, to get on your hands and knees if that's what it takes to reach Jesus? In a world filled with noise, distraction, and crowd-driven Christianity, this call to personal pursuit of Christ is both challenging and deeply liberating.Reverend Ben Cooper's message is clear: It's time for the church to move beyond surface-level worship and reclaim its spiritual authority through prayer, Scripture, and Holy Spirit-led worship. This episode will challenge your view of what worship is, stir your spiritual hunger, and equip you to stand firm in an age of compromise.

This teaching outlines a study on identifying and deprogramming individuals from cults, including those that claim to be Christian. The central theme is based on John 8:32, "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free"1. Bern asserts that many denominations traditionally considered true churches are, in fact, cults because they incorporate "doctrines of men" in addition to Christ's teachings. The Bible, specifically its unadulterated doctrine, is presented as the sole authority. For more teachings, books, or if you would like to make a love offering, please visit: https://www.walkinginpower.orgBern examines 22 signs of a cult: Exclusive doctrine not found in scripture. Salvation through works, often exclusively through the group. An undetermined future existence. Extra-biblical revelation (revelation outside the Bible). Presumptuous leadership that displaces the Holy Spirit's role. False doctrines embraced as truth. Syncretism (mixing pagan and divine elements). Scripture twisting for doctrinal advantage. Mind control through fear or doctrinal programming. Absurd lies perpetrated as truth. Trafficking in the souls of men. Absolute submission to human authority and doctrines of men. A false gospel or "another gospel". Presence of a religious spirit. Presence of a spirit of antichrist. Presence of a pharisaical spirit. Presence of a Jezebel spirit. Presence of a control spirit. Presence of the spirit of error. Presence of Nicolaitanism (clergy control over the laity). Control of people's will through fear. Resistance to the Holy Spirit. This study also addresses understanding individuals caught in cults, noting they often do not understand the sole authority of God's Word (Sola Scriptura) and rely on traditions or human interpretations. Their belief system may represent a lifetime investment, making it difficult for them to accept they could be wrong. They may use tactics like defining discussion terms or claiming interpretations are subjective to avert hearing the truth. Finally, ten principles for deprogramming are given: Take them to an authoritative literal translation of the Bible. Pray beforehand for the Holy Spirit to prepare their heart and mind. Show them what scripture says about its own authority (e.g., 2 Timothy 3:16, John 17:17, Numbers 23:19). Ask them "what is being said here by the Holy Spirit?" to encourage their own thinking. Be patient and loving. Emphasize that the words are from the Holy Spirit, not you. Ask strategic questions about their doctrines' origins. Bring them to the Bible to show what scripture says about their beliefs. Take time, covering hardcore doctrines first to dismantle the belief system's infrastructure. Undermine the authority of their doctrine, source of truth, and false leadership using the Word of God.

You're Not a Burden Have you ever felt like you're “too much” to be loved? Like your emotions are exhausting, your presence is heavy, or your needs might push people away? In today's episode, Cami speaks directly to the one quietly carrying the lie that they are a burden. Whether that message was spoken over you in childhood, implied through silence, or internalized through exhaustion, this conversation will remind you of the truth: God never called you a burden. He calls you beloved. And He carries what you carry—daily. Together, we'll explore: Where the lie of being “too much” often starts How it shapes the way we show up (or don't) in relationships What Scripture actually says about our weight, our worth, and God's willingness to hold both Why Jesus never asks us to clean up or quiet down before coming to Him This one's for the over-apologizer, the emotional caretaker, the one who says “I'm fine” through tears. You are not a problem to fix or a burden to bear. You are someone God loves to carry.

In this enlightening episode of Father and Joe, hosts Father Boniface and Joe Rockey tackle a common challenge faced in both missionary work and personal faith journeys: effectively communicating the vast benefits of attending Mass. THE MERCIFUL NATURE OF GOD. Sims critiques the tendency to reduce God to human standards and wisdom, which can lead to a distorted understanding of His character. By prioritizing political agendas or societal norms over God's word, believers risk alienating those who need to experience God's love. The podcast stresses that God is the creator of all and should not be confined to the limited views of mankind. This reductionism can lead to a lack of compassion and understanding towards those who are lost or struggling with sin.In this episode, Ashley Sims emphasizes the merciful nature of God, highlighting that He is not just a deity of judgment but also one of love and forgiveness. The discussion revolves around the misconception that God is only concerned with specific sins, such as homosexuality and abortion. Instead, Sims argues that God desires all of humanity to repent and return to Him, showcasing His mercy and grace. This perspective challenges the narrow view often presented in media and among certain Christian circles. What is going on!
