Tonight on Veritas... our special guest is Ricoh Danielson. A U.S. Army combat veteran who served nine rotations in Iraq and Afghanistan. A cybersecurity expert who has fought digital battles just as intense as those on the front lines. We live in an era where wars are no longer just fought with bombs and bullets. Today's battleground is digital. Cybercriminals operate like shadow armies, launching attacks that can cripple entire industries, disrupt governments, and destroy lives - all with a few keystrokes. Ricoh Danielson has spent years standing between these invisible threats and the world's most vulnerable targets. From Fortune 500 companies to hospitals, government agencies to everyday people - he has seen firsthand how cyber warfare is evolving. The ransomware industry alone is worth billions, and the criminals behind it are getting smarter, faster, and more ruthless. What happens when artificial intelligence fuels cybercrime? When disinformation becomes indistinguishable from reality? And when our most critical infrastructure - power grids, hospitals, financial systems - becomes the next target? How did a soldier become a warrior on the digital frontier? What dangers lurk in the shadows of the internet? And most importantly - what can you do to protect yourself before it's too late? This is the war we can't afford to lose.

And their thinking was “If you're going to compete against Google, you have to go big.”Umault had created an ad that was a Last of Us parody about Google Analytics 4, and Matomo asked for something similar. What's interesting is that because Umault was working on the ad before Oppenheimer came out, they were banking on the movie being a blockbuster hit. (Oppenheimer being the movie about J. Robert Oppenheimer and the creation of the atomic bomb.)The ad, called “Googleheimer Countdown,” got over 1 million views in a week. And customers were praising and selling Matomo to viewers in the comments. Matomo then followed the release of the ad with a strong distribution strategy. They responded to comments, reshared and reposted viewer posts. They also paid a media agency to amplify the ad.Umault says that their Matomo ad is appealing to viewers because they prioritize entertainment first, and marketing second. They said, “This is what happens when you make a hit video people actually want to watch.”What B2B Companies Can Learn From Matomo's Googleheimer Countdown Ad:Create a parody. Parodying already-popular content provides context to your viewers as well as scaffolding for your story. So it's a lighter lift for you and more likely to resonate for them. Ian says, “The audience has to do so little lifting because it's a parody. You're using infrastructure that's already there, you're using a story that's already there. None of us have even seen Oppenheimer, but you know the story and you're in on the joke. And that's why parody works so well. It's such a winning strategy.”Capitalize on industry trends. Timing is everything with this kind of campaign. Tune into industry sentiment and create content that reflects that tone. Shana says, “Trend jacking has been proven to work really well. And do it in such a way that is geared towards the favorability of your organization, just like Matomo was able to capitalize on the fact that all of a sudden, all of these people are freaking out about their analytics, and that's what they offer. It's just a genius way to be able to kind of move your marketing in a direction that's going to be successful. And it's already built in.” Implement a followup strategy after campaign launch. Make a plan once a campaign is launched to engage with your audience. Respond to their comments and feedback as they consume the campaign. Shana says, “You have to think about how you're going to follow up on your campaign. Make sure that you have the monetization strategy baked in there. Otherwise all those impressions aren't going to amount to anything for your brand. I like the idea that [Matomo] had people on deck to respond to comments and are really engaging with the people who are engaging back. I think that's a really great way to insert yourself into those conversations so it's not just like, ‘Here's a piece of content. It's great. Okay, next.'”Quotes*”Virtually anything can really be translated into meaningful content. When it's considered in the realm of business, this idea is really freeing and you can sense that the limits of what constitutes content are only confined by the creativity and the intentions that you bring. This philosophy empowers people to create more dynamic and explorative content with the significance placed on impact rather than just thinking about what it should be.” - Shana Haynie*”It's crucial to think about what the practicalities of your content marketing are. So you're still responsible for driving tangible results. But everything needs to be balanced. It's art and science, understanding your audience's needs and the engagement metrics and all the business goals that go behind that. I think when you can distill those two things down, that's the basis for how I like to think about content strategy.” - Shana HaynieTime Stamps[0:55] Meet Shana Haynie, Head of Content & Organic Growth at MoEngage[1:38] Why are we talking about Matomo's Googleheimer Countdown ad?[2:32] What does Shana's work at MoEngage entail?[3:24] What is Matomo's Googleheimer Countdown ad?[10:06] What makes the ad remarkable?[17:20] What can we learn about marketing from the ad?[23:40] What's Shana's content strategy?[27:59] How does Shana prove the ROI of content?[33:33] Shana shares past successful campaigns[37:52] What exciting content is Shana creating at MoEngage?LinksSee Matomo's Googleheimer Countdown adConnect with Shana on LinkedInLearn more about MoEngageAbout Remarkable!Remarkable! is created by the team at Caspian Studios, the premier B2B Podcast-as-a-Service company. For the past 25 years, Dr. Jes DeShields has studied, evaluated, and applied models of leadership, organizational behaviour, and systems change across multiple sectors. From Fortune 250 and privately-owned companies to local, national, and global non-profits to entire communities, Jes's work has ranged from preparing leaders to successfully run their organizations to improving the trajectory of organizations in crisis and those poised for growth to executing system-wide responses to existential threats, such as competition, and most recently, the pandemic. While writing her dissertation, Jes was told, “Just put pen to paper! It doesn't have to become your life's work.” And yet, the conceptual framework of Jes's original research manifests daily in her work with Leaders, Teams, and Organizations. Elements of an environment reciprocally influence each other, creating a reinforcing context. The reciprocal influence and reinforcing context breed conditions for evolving and convoluted organizational problems.A Leader's role in untangling or further tangling these issues is inevitable. How people lead and the type of culture they perpetuate has the most profound impact on how effectively they can untangle the system.Jes founded Crescent Leadership, a business consulting and executive coaching firm based on Leader-First® strategies, her distinct methodology for organizational change. Leader-First® strategies challenge leaders and teams of leaders first to examine how their action or inaction reinforces conditions for enduring growth and vitality or stagnation and decline.Jes's essential research was published in her book, '9 Leader Touchstones', which hit shelves earlier this year.Known as a passionate and engaging storyteller, Jes cultivates client relationships of transparency, trust, and authentic connection. Her consulting approach focuses on the long game, applying the appropriate infusion of innovation with endurance-based strategies and conscientious culture mapping.Prior to launching Crescent Leadership, Jes led the Leadership Consulting team for Girl Scouts of the USA. She and her team served as thought partners and consultants to CEOs across the 50 states, their senior team members, and their Boards, where they navigated dynamic and frenetic operational environments daily.Jes earned her Ph.D. in Management - Leadership and Organizational Change - in 2014. In this episode, John introduces a special guest - the legendary Jeffrey Gitomer. Jeffrey is in the speaker's Hall of Fame and is the king of sales. Literally the king of sales. The most prolific and respected authority on selling in the United States today. John met Jeffrey when he was 41 years old. And Jeffrey gave John some great advice. Turn your car into a mobile University. Unfortunately, John didn't immediately figure out how to do that. But a few years later, he did. By creating a system for personal growth. During this conversation between John and Jeffrey, they go over the things I wish I knew about success when I came out of college. John starts off the discussion saying the thing he wished he had known is how most people that you are competing against are not that sharp. Most people are not very organized, don't grow intellectually, don't set aside time to think on a weekly basis. Don't impact their mindset – and live with a negative inner voice. And don't control their daily actions, 95% of which are unconscious. These are all things that are taught in the think it be it methodology. John points out that when you do these things and other people don't, you're at a tremendous advantage in life over your competition. Later in the discussion John asked Jeffrey why he's been successful. And then John articulates his observations about why Jeffrey has been successful. About the Guest:Jeffrey Gitomer is known as the King of Sales. For the past 25 years, he helped shape the concept, the voice, and the implementation of the new sale.Jeffrey is the author of 17 best selling books. Most of his books have also been number one best sellers on NY Times and Wall Street Journal along with Amazon.com. Jeffrey's books have appeared on major best-seller lists more than 500 times and have sold millions of copies worldwide.Jeffrey has delivered more than 2,500 customized and personalized seminars and keynotes all over the world. What are the goals for your next conference? Jeffery will exceed your expected outcome. From Fortune 500 companies, to companies trying to earn a fortune, Jeffrey have traveled the globe helping sales teams get better at discovering buying motives. Why customers buy is one billion times more powerful than how to sell.Learn more about Jeffrey at: https://www.gitomer.com/About the Hosts:John MitchellJohn's story is pretty amazing. After spending 20 years as an entrepreneur, John was 50 years old but wasn't as successful as he thought he should be. To rectify that, he decided to find the “top book in the world” on SUCCESS and apply that book literally Word for Word to his life. That Book is Think & Grow Rich. The book says there's a SECRET for success, but the author only gives you half the secret. John figured out the full secret and a 12 minute a day technique to apply it.When John applied his 12 minute a day technique to his life, he saw his yearly income go to over $5 million a year, after 20 years of $200k - 300k per year. The 25 times increase happened because John LEVERAGED himself by applying science to his life. His daily technique works because it focuses you ONLY on what moves the needle, triples your discipline, and consistently generates new business ideas every week. This happens because of 3 key aspects of the leveraging process.John's technique was profiled on the cover of Time Magazine. He teaches it at the University of Texas' McCombs School of Business, which is one the TOP 5 business schools in the country. He is also the “mental coach” for the head athletic coaches at the University of Texas as well.Reach out to John at

If you want to learn about sales and start Googling, you quickly run across self-professed gurus, who claim to know the secret to selling. If you faithfully follow this method (available today only for a low low price), you'll have sales success. Despite feeling a twinge of skepticism about their pitch, you're so deep into their slick, pressure-filled pitch at this point that you pay for their books and courses…which end up being disappointing. Today's guest says these gurus have put you in the Vortex of crazy. He doesn't try to apply the same advice to everyone - his response reminds me of what an ancient Buddhist guru said. Well, according to a novel written a century ago by Hermann Hesse. There are a few men on a spiritual pilgrimage, and they reach a stage where the leader, Siddhartha, tells his followers that he must continue on alone. His right-hand man, Govinda asks him why, "Siddhartha…spoke quietly… “Always, oh Govinda, you've been my friend, you've always walked one step behind me. Often I have thought: Won't Govinda for once also take a step by himself, without me? Behold, now…[you] are choosing your path for yourself.” Our guest says there's only one sales method that works - the one that comes naturally to you. That refreshing take ripples through his 2023 book Do It! Selling. David Newman has been working since 1992 to help customers land better clients, bigger deals, and higher fees. From Fortune 500 corporations to sole-practitioners, his firm has helped over 1,800 clients with their marketing, sales, and professional services. David is also the host of the highly rated podcast, The Selling Show. David is married to the #1 most amazing woman on the planet (his words, not mine), launched two great kids into the world disguised as small adults, and has enjoyed raising some of the world's sweetest retrievers. Thomas Kuhn's The Structure of Scientific Revolutions was one of the most controversial books of the 20th century as well as being one of the most referenced academic works in history. Paradigm was a specialised term before Kuhn but since The Structure of Scientific Revolutions has been in circulation, Kuhn's paradigm rears its head in every nook and cranny of our society. From Fortune 500 board meetings to hippy sharing circles, the term paradigm has penetrated every layer of the culture. In this episode we explore what Kuhn meant by the term paradigm and we explore the connected ideas of incommensurability and Kuhn Loss. In the postscript to the second edition of the Structure of Scientific Revolutions, Kuhn distinguishes two definitions of the term paradigm: paradigm as disciplinary matrix and paradigm as exemplar. By disciplinary matrix he means something like the worldview of the scientific community — the collection of beliefs, values, techniques and instruments that they use. By exemplar he means the exemplary solution of a paradigmatic puzzle that we find in the work of the paradigm setting scientist. The idea of incommensurability comes from the inability to compare two different paradigms while Kuhn Loss refers to the loss of knowledge that occurs when paradigms move on. ____________________⭐ Support the channel (thank you!) ▶ Patreon: https://patreon.com/thelivingphilosophy ▶ Ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/thelivingphilosophy________________Media Used:1. From Fortune 500 stalwarts to Silicon Valley startups, gender equity has been a challenge for generations. But today despite universal agreement that a fix is overdue, not much has been done to actually move the needle. Because the workplace was not designed to value women, we need to change the ways we make decisions and evaluate talent to truly address the problem, and technology can be an accelerator. Using AI and natural language processing, software can identify bias in performance evaluations and point organizations toward making better decisions about promotions and new opportunities for employees. It’s more than just an issue of fairness for companies to act. For every 10% increase in gender equity toward parity, there is a 1% to 2% increase in revenue. In this episode in our series about women in AI, Katica Roy of Pipeline Equity discusses the topic of gender equity and the necessary changes that need to occur in our mindsets as well as business practices. She discusses specific issues of inequality (including the Motherhood Penalty), by sharing her professional experiences and by comparing statistics from the past few years. Katica talks about how her experience as a single mother, a first-generation American, and her various professional interactions have molded her vision of equality within the workplace. Our discussion also touches on Pipeline Equity, the 2020 Retrospective Report, and the trends that Katica has seen in the labor force participation rate of women. Women throughout history have seen sexism in the workforce, whether it has to do with opportunities, differences in pay, or in direct treatment. Katica and Pipeline Equity work hard to make sure that these current trends and statistics are coming to light because having the conversation is the first step to fixing the problem. Talking Points: Katica’s experience with sexism in the workplace How Katica’s background shaped how she views equality and her values Why Katica founded Pipeline Equity Analyzing the 2020 retrospective report about gender equity The setbacks from the pandemic and the economic consequences due to those setbacks Men’s mental health in 2020 The importance of destigmatizing mental health Katica’s advice on where to start advocating and learning about gender equity How to get involved How Katica balances being involved and running a company What is The Motherhood Penalty?
