Welcome to Multiverse News, your source for information about all your favorite fictional universes.Marvel left D23 with a full X-Men cast, a Doomsday sizzle reel, and a VisionQuest trailer, but not one new Disney+ series. In the August 20 edition of What I'm Hearing, Puck's Julia Alexander wrote that multiple live-action Marvel series are quietly in development with announcements expected soon, which cuts directly against the last few weeks of reporting that had Marvel retreating from live-action TV entirely after VisionQuest lands October 14. Worth stressing that this is a single paywalled item with no titles, no dates, and no talent attached, and Variety, Deadline, and THR have all left it alone while the aggregators and fan sites ran wild with it, loudly, with everything from a Heroes for Hire spinoff to a Defenders reunion getting floated ahead of Marvel Television's New York Comic Con panel on October 8. While Marvel's TV plans stay stuck in rumor, DC just made one official. The Jimmy Olsen project we've been tracking for the better part of a year finally has a title, and it's The People v. Gorilla Grodd, now an eight-episode straight-to-series order at HBO Max. Jimmy Tatro is officially Grodd after months of being merely attached in reports, but the bigger get is how much of the Daily Planet came along, with Skyler Gisondo, Beck Bennett, Mikaela Hoover, and Wendell Pierce all reprising from Superman for a “true” crime docuseries reinvestigating Grodd's murder conviction. To close out our all-TV episode, here's the one DC show that actually made it to air, and it's doing numbers. Per Deadline, Lanterns pulled 9.3 million global viewers in its first three days across HBO and HBO Max, 6.6 million of them stateside, making it the biggest DC Studios premiere in HBO Max history and a top five series debut on the platform overall. That's a stronger opening than The Penguin and IT: Welcome to Derry, and the premiere has held the number one spot on HBO Max's daily top ten every day since Sunday, with Chris Mundy already sketching season two despite no official renewal yet. Kit Harington will play Gilderoy Lockhart in season 2 of HBO's Harry Potter series. Harington replaces Nicholas Hoult, who was originally cast in the role but left over scheduling issues.Spider-Man: Brand New Day continued its dominant run at the global box office and currently stands at $2.2 billion worldwide. The Odyssey opened in a few more territories and sits at $1.44 billion in its sixth weekend, while newcomer Insidious: Out of the Further opened to $60.3 million worldwide. In an interview at the For the Love of Fantasy & Sci-Fi convention in London, Hayley Atwell told attendees that she was frustrated by Captain Carter's storyline in 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness saying “If I'm really like brutally honest, I was so disappointed with how they positioned her and what happened to her in that scene. It's so small, and she gets frisbeed to death. I tried on set to kind of go, ‘Can I just add? Can I just suggest?' And they were like, ‘Sure, but no.'”FX has ordered Legends, a meta-thriller limited series spinoff of Sons of Anarchy that reunites the majority of the original cast, including Charlie Hunnam, only this time playing fictionalized versions of themselves. The logline has the cast reuniting at a fan convention after more than a decade, where the line between life and art blurs as the fractured brotherhood faces a real-world threat more dangerous than anything from the show.NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal in an interview with EW revealed that he attempted to get cast in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a role but was told no. He said “I wanted to be in the ‘Avengers' and they were like, ‘Shaq, we fuckin' love you and we'd love to put you in, but if your face pops up on screen people are going to go, ‘Hey, that's Shaq!' He said it truthfully, and I was like, alright… I guess my face is too bigtime.”
Cam and K.C. sit down with Chicago native and former Bull Eddy Curry at Bulls Fest to reflect on his high school career, being drafted by his hometown team, playing alongside legends like Charles Oakley and Tyson Chandler, and his favorite memories in Chicago. Curry also shares stories about facing Shaq, his relationship with Tyson Chandler, his experiences with Scott Skiles and Jerry Krause, his message to the next generation, and his work with the NBA Players Association.
It's Free Speech Friday, and Joe Pags is going EVERYWHERE. He starts with Boston and Massachusetts politicians he says have completely lost the plot, including lawmakers proudly defending transgender athletes competing in women's sports. Then it's time for some incredible music history: Michael Jackson wanted Prince on "Bad," so why did Prince turn down what could've been one of the biggest duets EVER? Pags reveals the hilarious reason before flashing back to the glory days of MTV, talking Stevie Wonder, and revisiting Shaq's wild story that left him wondering whether Stevie can actually see. The phones light up before Pags turns to Vice President JD Vance campaigning in Ohio, playing his favorite moments and explaining why he loves seeing the VP get out and speak directly to Americans. Plus, the first deportation flight lands in Haiti following the TPS suspension—and somehow the crew ends up debating one of America's greatest mysteries: Why do we write dates backwards compared with England? The 49th anniversary of Elvis passing away occurred over the weekend, and we take time to remember the legendary singer. That is, until Greg declares he likes skinny Elvis better than fat Elvis. So much for that touching moment. Candace Owens and Andrew Wilson sat down to "debate" the crazy conspiracy theories surrounding the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Most of the conspiracy theories came directly from Candace, and she couldn't defend her theories with facts. Legendary baseball player Tommy John passed away. Shaq can still dunk, and football is back! ► Find more at http://www.RickBurgessShow.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
What happens when you combine expired temp tags, full-contact leopards, a 7UP identity crisis, celebrity tipping drama, six Trans Ams, Burt Reynolds stories, and the real-life return of Buford T. Justice? You get The Rizzuto Show doing what it does best: taking perfectly reasonable topics and absolutely refusing to discuss them reasonably. This collection of Rizz Show chaos starts with the crew discovering they somehow won a St. Louis Magazine A-List award — despite apparently being among the last people to find out. The celebration lasts approximately long enough for Missouri's expired temporary tags to become the next emergency, especially when Rafe admits his own tags are expired. Suddenly, the guy complaining about the system becomes the poster child for it and begins framing his procrastination as a form of peaceful protest. Gandhi had the Salt March. Rafe has paperwork sitting somewhere in his house. From there, things only get more responsible. We encounter a man accused of deploying homemade spike strips to stop people from crossing his lawn, which naturally leads to a serious legal analysis based almost entirely on Home Alone. Another story involves a driver allegedly taking “good morning” as fighting words. Creep Corner opens its doors. The Town Crier gets involved. And eventually we arrive at FULL CONTACT LEOPARDS, because apparently humans weren't generating enough bad decisions on their own. Then comes an existential crisis nobody saw coming:7UP is changing. The legendary lemon-lime soda is going more lime-forward, sending the crew directly into an '80s and '90s nostalgia vortex. Suddenly we're talking about the Uncola, old 7UP glasses, Sega Genesis and the greatest red dot ever to wear sunglasses: Cool Spot.Bring him back, cowards. That trip down memory lane also resurrects Smart cars and other vehicles disappearing from the automotive landscape before Crap on Celebrities takes over. Matthew McConaughey explains how a Jennifer Lopez name-drop once helped him during a traffic stop in Mexico, Barbie sequel negotiations involve enormous amounts of money, and the crew gets into Spider-Man, Ted Lasso, Axl Rose, boring movies and whether killing a dog in a movie should automatically earn an R rating. But then we stumble into a game that could sustain this show for the next decade: Good Tipper or Bad Tipper? The crew reacts to online anecdotes about celebrity tipping involving Shaq, Post Malone, Miley Cyrus, David Lee Roth, Dave Chappelle, Scottie Pippen, JLo, Jack Black, Bruce Willis, 50 Cent, Stanley Tucci and more. Some stories restore our faith in famous people. Others give us No Tippin' Pippen, and honestly, that's enough cultural achievement for one episode. And then things go eastbound and down.Sean and Jason — the guys bringing Sheriff Buford T. Justice and Junior Justice back to life — walk into the studio looking like Smokey and the Bandit escaped the screen and wandered into The Rizzuto Show.Sean even arrives in full Buford mode with a lit cigarette.Nobody tells Sheriff Justice what to do.The guys tell the incredible story of how their Smokey and the Bandit tribute work grew from reenactments and car shows into Sheriff Justice: The Series, a prequel exploring Buford and Junior before their legendary pursuit of the Bandit. They explain how Sedalia, Missouri became the production home, why they're committed to preserving the spirit of Jackie Gleason and Mike Henry's original performances, and how the families connected to those actors have supported what they're doing. Then we get to the cars.Vintage vehicles. Classic cop cars. Period-correct backgrounds. A Trans Am personally autographed by Burt Reynolds.Oh, and Jason owns six Trans Ams, because apparently some people actually achieve their childhood dreams instead of just buying another commemorative T-shirt.Sean also shares what it was like spending a week around Burt Reynolds at a film festival shortly before Reynolds passed away. That leads to stories about Burt's legendary ability to entertain a room, his willingness to tell stories where he wasn't necessarily the hero, and why the man's combination of charisma, cowboy hats, mustaches and muscle cars permanently rewired an entire generation. The nostalgia continues with Paul Williams — Little Enos himself — immediately slipping back into character when he encountered Sean and Jason at a convention. The production stories get even crazier when we learn they filmed through a reported 123-degree heat index during a 14-hour day, because apparently recreating the 1970s also means recreating a time when workplace air conditioning was merely a rumor. And then comes the ultimate Hollywood moment: Sean looks over and realizes he has his own stunt double. That's when you know you've upgraded from “guy doing a tribute” to “guy somebody else gets paid to injure themselves pretending to be.”Naturally, none of this can simply remain an interview. The Rizz Show immediately begins campaigning for roles.Extras become possible speaking parts. Speaking parts become SAG-card dreams. Moon volunteers to protect the Trans Am. Dr Pepper and Diablo sandwiches become potential negotiating tools. At some point this stops sounding like a joke and starts sounding dangerously close to an actual plan.Across all three conversations, it's everything that makes The Rizzuto Show the beautifully unnecessary daily comedy machine that it is: St. Louis stories, weird news, celebrity gossip, nostalgia, pop culture, ridiculous arguments, movie memories, questionable decisions and grown adults becoming emotionally invested in subjects ranging from soda mascots to license plates.Come for the celebrity tipping stories. Stay for Cool Spot. Learn absolutely nothing about proper vehicle registration. Develop an unhealthy desire to own a 1977 Trans Am. And whatever you do, do not engage the leopards in full contact. It's The Rizzuto Show.We won an award, you know.Apparently.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.Expired temp tags about to be a thing of the past in MissouriMidwest curmudgeon, 39, charged with placing homemade spike strip along popular bike path to take petty revenge on child cyclistsManiac allegedly tried to run over jogger 3 times after she wished him ‘good morning'Leopard mauls man who paid $150 for 'full contact' experienceThese Are the Cars Being Discontinued in 2026See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
There are certain moments when you realize the world you knew is gone forever. Your childhood home gets cleaned out. The cars you remember disappear. Your favorite mascot gets replaced. And, most devastating of all, 7UP decides it needs to become more lime-forward.We know. Take all the time you need.Episode 83 starts with some actual show business as the crew talks about trying to land a role — or at least get their faces somewhere in the background — in Sheriff Justice: The Series. There's also some movie talk surrounding Scott's short-film adventures before we arrive at the cultural earthquake nobody was prepared for: 7UP is changing its recipe. For the first time in 15 years, the lemon-lime soda is going lime-lemon.That announcement sends this comedy podcast directly into nostalgia mode as Rafe and Moon remember the glory days of 7UP's Uncola marketing, old-school glasses and, most importantly, Cool Spot. Remember Cool Spot? The red dot with sunglasses, sneakers and enough '90s attitude to somehow get his own Sega Genesis game? THAT was branding. Naturally, the conversation becomes a referendum on every mascot decision 7UP has made since, including poor Fido Dido catching strays decades after the fact. The trip down memory lane keeps rolling when the crew talks about cars disappearing from the market, including the Ford Escape, Jaguar F-Pace, Toyota GR Supra and Tesla Model S. That somehow brings Smart cars back into the conversation, which reminds everybody of that brief period when society tried to convince us driving something the size of a roller skate was the future. Then we Crap on Celebrities.Matthew McConaughey tells a story about using his Wedding Planner connection to Jennifer Lopez to help get himself out of a sticky traffic-stop situation in Mexico. Which raises an important question: if Matthew McConaughey still has to name-drop somebody else, what hope do the rest of us have? There's Barbie sequel drama involving Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Greta Gerwig and some potentially enormous paydays. Kelly Ripa talks about needing gum-graft surgery. Selena Gomez and her Wondermind company face allegations in a lawsuit. Spider-Man is putting up gigantic box-office numbers, and the crew dives into a list of movies people online have branded some of the most boring films of the century. Then Anne Hathaway floats the idea that movies where dogs die should automatically get an R rating.Honestly, Old Yeller has been emotionally mugging children for generations, so at least somebody finally opened the investigation. We also get into the return of Ted Lasso, Axl Rose dealing with jaw problems while performing, and Lionel Richie cracking a joke about Usher and Chris Brown that predictably becomes an online debate. Because nothing said into a microphone is allowed to simply be a joke anymore. It must immediately become a panel discussion involving 40,000 strangers. But the centerpiece of the celebrity chaos is a game that deserves its own home edition: Good Tipper or Bad Tipper? The crew works through anecdotal stories involving John Cena, Chuck Norris, David Lee Roth, Dave Chappelle, Scottie Pippen, Shaq, Maria Shriver, 50 Cent, Stanley Tucci, Post Malone, Miley Cyrus, Bruce Willis, Elvis Presley, Jay-Z, Tina Fey, Jennifer Lopez, Kevin Hart, Jane Fonda and Jack Black. Some allegedly tipped huge. Some allegedly tipped terribly. Some stories immediately make the crew question humanity. And Scottie Pippen inspires a nickname so painfully obvious that humanity should be ashamed it took this long: No Tippin' Pippen.Again, these are anecdotes discussed during the show, not our personal surveillance operation into celebrities paying restaurant checks. We barely have enough resources to monitor our own lunch orders. The episode wraps with celebrity birthdays, Steve Martin age guesses, Reginald VelJohnson's incredible history of playing cops and the usual collection of references that make this comedy podcast feel less like a structured entertainment program and more like being trapped at a table with friends who remember every useless cultural detail except why they originally started talking. So pour yourself a 7UP — lemon-lime or the terrifying new lime-lemon variety — tip your server, fire up the Sega Genesis and enjoy another comedy podcast from The Rizzuto Show.Cool Spot, wherever you are: we remember you.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Travis delivers a solo masterclass on the "Credibility Code," sharing the top five proven ways he's used to build massive trust in his personal brand and business, even when he wasn't the "best" at what he did. Drawing from his own journey, he explains why the most successful people often win through perception and proof rather than just skill alone. On this episode we talk about: The "celebrity effect" and why credibility often trumps raw talent in getting business. Why PR and publications are still the lowest-hanging fruit for instant third-party validation. Building a massive library of testimonials and case studies tailored to different customer avatars. Creating high-volume content and guest appearances to overwhelm skeptics with evidence. Associating with "undeniable" influencers (like Shaq) to borrow their trust and skyrocket your brand. Top 3 Takeaways Stack social proof relentlessly. Don't just add one or two testimonials—build a library matching every possible customer scenario so prospects see themselves in your results. Volume creates conviction. Flood Google with your name through guest spots, podcasts, and backlinks until anyone researching you finds overwhelming evidence you're legit. Associate to accelerate. Share the stage with "Shaq-level" names in your niche; their endorsement transfers instant trust, often more powerfully than PR logos alone. Notable Quotes "The people who got the most business were not necessarily always the best at what they did. They were just the ones who were well known for doing it." "If anybody researched who I am... you're going to find so much volume... it's going to be overwhelming... that you can't avoid the idea that I'm credible." "Nike spends tens of billions a year in endorsements. They're basically just buying trust with their ideal audience. That's all it is." Shaquille O'Neal calls the Knicks' championship a little lucky, and Evan Roberts and Shaun Morash unload on the argument. They say Shaq is confusing luck with execution and admit that even Knicks haters have no choice but to respect what New York accomplished. Shaun Morash is in for Tiki Barber alongside Evan Roberts. The conversation also turns to whether the red-hot Red Sox can cool off enough for the Yankees to recover, Shaun's immediate belief in George Lombard Jr., and Jacob deGrom refusing a trade to the Braves. Evan celebrates deGrom's decision while defending the former Met against criticism that he no longer cares about winning.
Shaquille O'Neal calls the Knicks' championship a little lucky, and Evan Roberts and Shaun Morash aren't buying it. Even as Knicks haters, they argue Shaq's logic cheapens the execution and big moments that actually won New York the title. Shaun Morash is in for Tiki Barber alongside Evan Roberts, and both admit the Knicks have made life miserable for anyone desperate to mock them. Mike Tomlin's comments about potentially getting the coaching itch spark a bigger question about whether he could eventually become the Jets' dream hire. Plus, Shaun is already convinced George Lombard Jr. has something special after just two games, Evan pushes back on the Yankees prospect hype, Brian Cashman's job security comes under fire, Jacob deGrom's refusal to go to Atlanta gets celebrated, and Mrs. Met makes mascot history.

It's a lighter Friday edition of Shoot Around, just Horry and Rob Jenners running through the week's fan questions and whatever's been living in their group chat. They start with Austin Reaves catching heat for putting himself in his own all-time starting five (next to Steph, Kobe, LeBron, and Shaq, for the record), then get into Arizona State's new bachelor's degree in "influencing" and whether that's actually a legitimate skill set or just a punchline. That turns into a fun tangent about what they'd each go back to school for if money and logic weren't an issue. From there it's an equitable-grading-scale story that has both of them fired up, a debate about participation trophies, and a trip down memory lane on old-school discipline. Then the mood shifts: Rick Moranis got a five-minute standing ovation at Comic-Con after coming out of retirement for Spaceballs 2, and the guys get into why that moment hit different, along with the actual Spaceballs 2 synopsis and whether it can live up to the original. They close it out plotting their own eventual Comic-Con trip, including costume ideas for a seven-foot-tall Robert Horry. 00:00 Cold Open & Friday Check-In 01:36 Austin Reaves' All-Time Starting Five 03:57 Arizona State's Degree in Influencing 07:09 What They'd Go Back to School For 10:02 The Equitable Grading Scale Debate 12:34 Participation Trophies & Old-School Discipline 13:57 Rick Moranis' Comic-Con Standing Ovation 15:43 Spaceballs 2 Is Actually Happening 17:54 Comic-Con Costume Ideas & Bucket List

LeBron James is a Philadelphia 76er, and his No. 23 jersey just became the best selling jersey ever for a player joining a new team in the first 48 hours across all sports, passing Shohei Ohtani's 2023 Dodgers record. Covino and Rich dig into what that says about LeBron's pull at 41, then settle which LeBron jersey you buy and keep forever once he retires, before laying out the official Covino and Rich jersey rules: when you temporarily retire a traded player's jersey, why grown men should stick with the legends, the Yankee rule, and the only acceptable way to put your own name on the back. From there it's the Shaq debate (90s pinstripe Magic or Lakers purple and gold), Arizona State becoming the first school in the country to offer a content creation major and whether any parent should cough up $100,000 a year for a kid to study influencing, and a full rundown of must have backyard games, from cornhole to a ten dollar HomeGoods ring toss to an argument about how to pronounce badminton that nobody wins. The Philadelphia 76ers have officially entered championship territory after signing LeBron James, and today we discuss whether anything short of an NBA title should be considered a disappointment. Also, we react to Draymond Green's criticism of LeBron choosing the Sixers over the Warriors, as well as his ridiculous comments about VJ Edgecombe being a loser of the LeBron James signing. Furthermore, Shaquille O'Neal made a bold prediction about Joel Embiid being the NBA's best center next season and it has Sixers fans talking. In other news, we break down the underrated impact LeBron will have on the development of Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, and the rest of Philadelphia's young core. Lastly, Kevin Durant weighs in on LeBron's decision to join the Sixers, claiming that he is "ring chasing." Today, we discuss it all! Bomani Jones is joined by Vinnie Goodwill from ESPN for a Time Machine Tuesday edition of The Right Time, diving deep into the history and legacy of the 1996 USA Men's Olympic Basketball Team (often called Dream Team 3). Bo and Vinnie compare the squad to the iconic 1992 Dream Team and the 1994 World Championship team, breaking down the incredible roster that featured young superstars like Penny Hardaway and Grant Hill alongside dominant big men Hakeem Olajuwon, Shaquille O'Neal, and David Robinson. They discuss why the 1996 team was a physical powerhouse that routinely blew past international competition, how the legendary 1996 free agency period loomed large over the team's tour, and why Charles Barkley managed to be the leading scorer for both the '92 and '96 Olympic runs. Later, they explore the ultimate "what if" regarding Penny Hardaway's injury-shortened prime, the madness surrounding Shaq signing with the Lakers mid-Olympics, and settle the final debate: could the 1996 roster actually beat Michael Jordan and the 1992 Dream Team? . . . In this episode the guys sit down with Nick Hexum, lead singer and co-founder of 311, just hours before a live show. Nick opens up about how the band has stayed together for 35 years, his path to sobriety in 2005-06 and how the band stuck by him through it, bringing weights on the road since 1993 and having a full gym dressing room on every tour, and why exercise was his earliest tool for managing anxiety and depression. He covers the study showing dance and exercise outperform SSRIs for depression by one and a half times, how he syncs his workouts to BPM-specific playlists, working with a vocal coach who saved his career, losing his youngest brother to an overdose and finally writing a song about it, Shaq showing up to their music video during the NBA playoffs with two left shoes and a siren on his SUV, meeting Joe Strummer of The Clash and finding a 311 sticker on his boom box, the Rick Rubin creativity principle of audience coming last, and his new Americana solo project with mandolin and fiddle. He also shares his thoughts on AI in the music industry, how the Grateful Dead touring model saved them from the Napster collapse, and why he surfed ten-foot Santa Cruz waves the day before this interview.
