Joining me on the show are Nico Bryant and Sam Gellerstein of SNACKTIME. You may know them as the house band on Jason Kelce's ESPN late-night show, but it won't be long before they're known for much more. What started as a street performance project has evolved into one of the most electrifying live acts in music. Blending funk, soul, hip-hop, and rock with an infectious sense of community, SNACKTIME has built a loyal following the old-fashioned way: earning it one show at a time. We discuss the band's journey, the growth of their sound, life on the road, and how they've turned grassroots buzz into national momentum. We also explore the power of authentic connection and why their music is resonating with audiences across the country. Whether you're already a fan or discovering them for the first time, this conversation offers a look inside one of music's fastest-rising bands.
In this episode of the Fingal's Cave Podcast, we take a deeper look into the second part of the live and studio career of Roger Waters, beginning in 1999 with his return to touring “In The Flesh” after a 12 year hiatus.Guests Mike McCartney, Nils Zehnpfennig and Adam S. recount their experiences attending several Roger Waters shows between 1999 & 2008, as well as provide insights to what it was like being a fan in the Pink Floyd community at the time. It was fans taping soundchecks and holding up banners to "play the new song" which encouraged him to premiere a brand new track, Each Small Candle, at the last show on his 1999 tour; a song regarded as one of his finest works.Roger's creative output between 1999 to 2008 doesn't often correlate with his large scale tours, but many of these smaller gigs or studio tracks demonstrate Roger's continued prowess as a lyricist and musician, always employing the use of his touring or studio players in effective ways. You won't want to miss these insights into Roger's solo career during this period.

This week's guest is Val Haller, Founder and Co-producer of Winnetka Music Festival, a local Chicago music fest celebrating its 10th Anniversary. The festival takes place this week, June 19-20 and features a stellar lineup with headliners Father John Misty, Trombone Shorty, Grace Potter and Futurebirds among other fantastic acts. Throughout her career in music, Val has embodied a vibrant can-do spirit. She founded Val's List in 2007 which seeks to connect “busy adults” with new music from emerging artists. It uncovered a wonderful niche of music lovers who were looking for something new— and it was a massive success! She then morphed her passion into Living Room shows, which then ultimately became one of the most successful local Chicago festivals when she founded Winnetka Music Festival in 2017. Now partnered with Space Evanston, Val continues to foster emerging young artists and to that end, Val has founded the Just Listen Foundation to lend financial support to young touring artists.Val's passion, enthusiasm, drive and commitment is truly inspiring. She talks to me about the key moments along the way, and what the future holds. I loved learning more about Val, and you will learn a ton from her experience and unique perspective on the music world.=======================================Chapters:00:00 - Episode intro with Host Josh Rosenberg 05:00 - Val's early career and motivation behind Val's List 10:00 - Impact of industry analysis and media features 11:00 - Transition from playlisting to live events 15:00 - Building community through house concerts 20:00 - Collaborations with booking agents and brands 25:00 - Insights on festival development and partnerships 30:00 - Logistical challenges and audience engagement strategies 35:00 - The inception and evolution of the Winnetka Music Festival 40:00 - Success stories of artists who grew through the festival 45:00 - The festival's setting, logistics, and community impact 50:00 - Safety, ticketing, and operational lessons learned 55:00 - Future plans including foundation and expanding support for artists 01:02:00 - Final thoughts on connecting artists and audiences through community events 01:06:00 - Closing remarks and thanks01:08:08 - Episode wrap-up with Host Josh Rosenberg=======================================For more information on Roadcase:https://linktr.ee/roadcasepod and https://www.roadcasepod.comOr contact Roadcase by email: info@roadcasepod.comRoadcase theme music: "Eugene (Instrumental)" by Waltzer

In this episode, we explore what working smarter, not harder really means in today's high-performance, high-pressure world. Many of us are doing all the right things: eating well, exercising, checking the boxes yet still feeling exhausted, wired at night, foggy during the day, or stuck in burnout. Failure's Greg Edwards opens up about the band's latest album, 'Location Lost,' the difficulty of discovering new music, working with Hayley Williams and more.
In this episode of Seeing Them Live, Charles sits down with Ben Daughtry and Jonathan Palmer of Love Jones — the Louisville-born, LA-based band that has been crafting their unique blend of lounge, soul, pop, and sharp-witted storytelling for over three decades. The conversation kicks off with a shared love of live music, as both Ben and Jonathan trace their concert-going roots back to the same unlikely starting point: Van Halen. Ben recalls sneaking into a show at 14, way too young to be there, watching a then-unknown Van Halen open for Black Sabbath and feeling like "a bomb going off." Jonathan recounts his own Van Halen baptism at Freedom Hall in Louisville on the Women and Children First Invasion Tour — complete with $7.50 festival seating and his mother taking notes in the stands. From there, the episode becomes a wide-ranging tour through decades of live music obsession. The guys swap stories about Ted Nugent crowd surges, jumping on stage with GWAR in New Orleans, playing congas with Tool at an early Lollapalooza, and watching Rage Against the Machine move 60,000 people. Jonathan shares privileged industry moments — seeing The Rolling Stones at a 600-capacity room in New York alongside Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz, and Questlove, and catching Nine-Inch Nails at The Troubadour when they felt "too big for the building." The conversation is fueled by genuine enthusiasm, with each story triggering another in a kind of joyful avalanche of rock and roll memory. The second half of the episode turns to the band's own story — from their residency at Largo on Fairfax, where David Bowie once sat quietly in a booth and Tool's crew became regulars, to their unexpected appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album Here's to the Losers. Charles and the guys dig into the Cocktail Nation moment of the '90s, the making of their new album The Greatest Show on Earth — written during COVID jam sessions in a Louisville warehouse with crickets chirping and trains passing — and the cinematic, Gil Evans-influenced sound that ties its six expansive tracks together. The episode closes with the band expressing hope to get back on the road, a shout-out to their partnership with Whiskey Thief Distillery, and a tease of possible activity around the 30th anniversary of the film Swingers, on whose soundtrack Love Jones famously appeared.
