He was 88. HBO has officially greenlit the first show under DC Studios titled Lanterns. The series has been given an eight episode straight-to-series order by HBO with Chris Mundy serving as showrunner and executive producer. Jonathan Majors is set to star in the revenge thriller Merciless, which is based on an original screenplay by Frank Hannah. Martin Villeneuve, the younger brother of filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, will direct. The film will mark Majors' first role since his third degree assault and harassment conviction earlier this year. Sources tell Deadline that Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan are in negotiations to star in Season 2 of the Netflix and A24 anthology series Beef. The roles Isaac and Mulligan would be playing were rumored to be for Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway, but that ultimately did not come to fruition. Apple Films has acquired the rights to The Wives, an original film produced by A24 and starring Jennifer Lawrence. The Wives is described as a murder mystery inspired by The Real Housewives franchise.

SUR LA ROUTE DE L'HORREUR reçoit Actum Imago, quatre potes ayant eu l'idée de former une compagnie de cinéma qui leur a permis d'assouvir leur passion commune et ce, sans contrainte. Actum Imago, autrement dit "images en mouvement", était jadis formé de Pascal Arcand, Martin Bruyère, Jasmin Houle, Frédéric Pierre et Martin Villeneuve. Actum Imago a investi tout leur temps libre ainsi que toutes leurs économies dans la production de films! Ainsi, tour à tour, ils se sont fait caméraman, perchiste, preneur de son, costumier et plus, pour travailler sur la vision d'un seul film à la fois. Le mouvement Kino Hull a assuré une belle vitrine aux quatre cinéastes amateurs, les poussant justement à produire un film par mois de façon à présenter leur nouveau matériel lors des soirées Kino. Les lieux de tournage, les acteurs et autres ressources se trouvaient principalement par leur réseau de relations, en échangeant des courriels et en recrutant des bénévoles. Les scénarios étaient soumis par des amis ou encore sortis tout droit de leur imagination fertile! Le résultat? Des films débridés construits principalement sous une forme proche de la nouvelle littéraire, avec une chute finale où l'on reconnaît bien leur amour commun des films d'horreur et de science-fiction.
