Send us a textImagine stepping into the world of digital art and NFTs with someone who has significantly shaped our digital landscape. Meet Chikai, the visionary mind behind Monolith Gallery, Circle of Friends, Postino, and Bluebeard AI. As a co-creator of Google Earth, Chikai shares his initial surprise and curiosity about NFTs, which later evolved into a profound appreciation for this burgeoning digital art market. Alongside this digital journey, we explore his love for San Francisco, his dreams of living in New York and Japan, and a charming family tale about his kids' eagerness to visit the Godzilla Museum in Japan.Take a nostalgic trip with us as we blend the love of collecting comic books with the excitement and challenges of the Web3 space. Chikai and I discuss the deep community bonds formed within this digital realm, even amid market fluctuations. We delve into the complexities surrounding NFT royalties and provenance, highlighting the urgency for consistent standards to uphold trust and sustainability. As we reminisce about cherished childhood toys, concerns about the shifting practices across platforms emerge, underscoring the need for clarity and stability in this dynamic landscape.Feel the energy of passionate environmental efforts as we draw parallels between Christine and Doug Tompkins' conservation projects and the pioneering spirit within the NFT community. Inspired by their story, we emphasize the value of in-person connections in the crypto art world and share aspirations for fostering global micro-events that strengthen our collective spirit. Join us in celebrating memorable NFT collaborations and dream partnerships, while reflecting on the balance between ambitious projects and family life. Chikai and I express our gratitude for the community's unwavering support, which continues to fuel our enthusiasm for future collaborations and opportunities.Support the show

Wine - more than few other things in the world - is a deeply beautiful and romantic thing. Also, very, very delicious. When you think of most restaurants, though, the offerings of wines are very limited in the grand context of things. You could close your eyes and probably can imagine a handful of names you would see on most menus, and you'd be right. Brent Karlicek, Beverage Director of Postino WineCafe, aims to change this notion. Guests at the properties (including the recently opened Irvine location) are presented with a stunning selection of wines, all curated by Brent. His passion is tangible, his knowledge is deep, and his appreciation for the world of wine is truly something to behold. In this episode of Take-Away with Sam Oches, Sam talks with Lauren Bailey, the cofounder and CEO of Upward Projects, an Arizona based restaurant group best known for its cornerstone concept, Postino Wine Café. Lauren joins for a conversation about the highs and lows of her expansion journey, why building a restaurant concept is a lot like being in a band, and what emerging restaurant leaders should and should not do on their own paths toward expansion. In this conversation, you’ll find out why: Running a restaurant is both an art and a science Your first big challenge as an emerging restaurateur is learning that you can’t be everywhere at every time Forced creativity is vital to the life of an emerging brand leader If you want to maintain that creativity, you have to be intentional about it Think about raising capital when you don’t need money Know what you want to accomplish with your concept — and whether you can do what it takes to get there Don’t waste the gift that is your younger years Have feedback or ideas for Take-Away? Isso nunca me incomodou. Virei mascote. No meu aniversário, me fizeram uma pranchinha miniatura, do meu tamanho. O surfe me acompanha até hoje.

My sincerest apologies to everyone, I didn't realize we had not dropped an episode in our folder and so here it is!! We sat down with Lauren Bailey, founder of Postino Wine Cafe to talk about their newest location in Denver (9th & Colorado - Killer patio & safe indoor dining), but the conversation quickly turned to hilarity and tomfoolery. Between discussions about her creating a restaurant empire in the SW and growing to Colorado.. we talk about her mistaking Jerry Rice for a laundry man, she grills us on how well we know each other, and we talk mouth-guards from her high school days (google it if you're under 28). Great episode, I feel awful we didn't drop this way back when, we robbed you. For that I am sorry, and to Lauren... she is a great person, sincere entrepreneur, and good sport, thanks for joining us!

Brainstorming Parte 2 - Tecniche. Scarfiotti@robingood.itMusica: "Tune In" by Joseph Jacobs - disponibile su Bandcamp: https://chillhop.bandcamp.com/track/tune-in

You select the photo and then write a message that will appear on the back. You enter the address where you want it to go and then, for $1.83 a postcard, the service will actually print out a real postcard with your photo and message and put it in the mail. Postino is available for iOS, Android, and Windows. Touchnote: This option is Web-based. Select a photo from your files on your computer, add a message and postal address and it will print and mail them for you.  The cost is $1.99 a card so for a a dollar or so more than the cost of a stamp, you get to use your own photo and have it printed, stamped and mailed out for you. Ma cosa sono questi?Arlecchino: Oh, i nostri biglietti! Arlecchino: Come mi manca il mio bravo cuginoDialog: EnglishAntonella: Thank you, thank you! But what are these?Arlecchino: Oh, our cards!Colombina: The postman brought them to us, along with your package!Dottore: Ecce bigliettus tibi, Colombina!Colombina: Thank you, Dottore! Look! Here's one for you, Arlecchino!Arlecchina: Who is it from?Arlecchino: Let's see ... oh! it's from my cousin Carlos, the one who explained to me who the Befana is ... 'Dear Arlecchino' he writes ... 'do you remember how at one time you wanted to know everything about the Befana? and I told you ...Carlos: As the three kings were going to Bethlehem to take their gifts to the child Jesus, they saw an old woman and urged her to follow them to visit little Jesus, but the woman refused. Shortly thereafter, however, the little old lady changed her mind, and after preparing some sweets for the child, she tried to reach the three wise men, but they were already far away and she was unable to catch up with them. So, even today, on the night before Epiphany (the 6 January), the little old lady, called the Befana, takes gifts to all good children in the hope that one of them will be the little Jesus. On that night all Italian children go to sleep awaiting the gifts of the Befana, who arrives flying on a broomstick. But gifts come only to the good children; to the bad ones the Befana brings coal.Arlecchino: How I miss my good cousin!Dialog: ItalianThe Santa Lucia Christmas Market in BolognaPantalone: Ragazzi! Ecco un biglietto da Irene!Dottore: Irene, la mia concittadina!Pantalone: Proprio lei, Dottore! Here is a card from Irene!Dottore: Irene, my countrywoman!Pantalone: The very one, Dottore! 'Dear Pantalone and Company,' she writes, 'remember the Christmas that you spent here? Pulcinella was always off looking for sweets!'Irene: Santa Lucia is Bologna's Christmas market where my parents took me every year to buy something for the Nativity scene and a piece of nougat candy or hazelnut brittle. It was cold, but we would stroll slowly among all those people and everything was bright and smelled good. I loved the Nativity figures, especially the ones that moved, and to pick only one of them to take home was very hard. I kept going to Santa Lucia even as an adult; it's still quite beautiful, but there's one mystery: the older I've become, the smaller the market has gotten ... now it seems enormous only to my little girls!Pantalone: Ah, not even those little girls will be so very little by now!Dottore: My god-daughters ...Arlecchina: Oh, don't cry, Dottore -- here's a card for you!Dialog: ItalianLucky New Year TreatsDottore: Sì? Oh! Non creditur!Colombina: Da chi è, Dottore?Dottore: Una mia ex-studentessa! Sheilah! Dialog: EnglishDottore: Yes? Oh! Non creditur!Colombina: Who is it from, Dottore?Dottore: A former student of mine! Sheilah! How she loved the New Year's holiday! Listen:Sheilah: I remember well a New Year's spent with a Piedmontese family ...For lunch we ate a stuffed pig's foot with lentils that the mother had cooked all morning (lentils bring good luck) and so many vegetables fried in a really light batter; for dessert, of course, there was a panettone. We toasted with sparkling wine. Outside it was snowing and cold, but we were comfy together inside. Next year I'd really like for my mother to cook lentils for New Year's too!Arlecchino: All this talk of lentils and panettone! It's making me hungry as ... as ...Arlecchina: As Pulcinella?Arlecchino: That's it exactly!Pantalone: Then you will enjoy a bit of this exquisite Veronese pandoro that my nephews gave me!
