Being a parent to a small child is fraught with challenges, whether it be an unexpected early morning height-mogging by a tall dad or having to endure the dreadful, flustered driving of other parents as they take their own kids to and from nursery. On today's show, Luke and Pete exchange these stories before moving on to subjects such as white guys with dreadlocks, drab contemporary political satire and the new Ricky Gervais vehicle “Alley Cats”. The lads aren't quite in agreement regarding its merits (or lack thereof).Send us your latest stories, questions and comments here: hello@lukeandpeteshow.com.The Luke and Pete Show is the sometimes ridiculous, always funny podcast with Luke Moore and Pete Donaldson: two men who have time on their hands and a good idea of how to waste it.

What do you do when the version of yourself that's winning is also the version that's breaking? You know the feeling, hitting every number, saying yes to everything, and still walking away from the day feeling like you performed it rather than lived it. Now imagine finding the exact moment that stopped working, and the one small shift that got you back. Most high performers don't burn out overnight. It happens one performance at a time, right up until the body forces the stop, mid show, mid meeting, mid life.Christian O'Connell has hosted the #1 breakfast radio show in 2 different countries, the only person to do it. Luke and Matt are back aboard their TV Time Machine to observe the TV landscape of August 2001. Luke is still struggling to remember what he was doing, but Matt was working at the company his dad worked for alone in an empty warehouse! On television, satirical Channel 4 series Brass Eye returns for a special on paedophiles, which is still viewed as highly controversial. Famous older people are given their own sketch show on BBC Choice called Revolver, whilst relatively new channel E4 is showing The Fugitive, another TV adaptation of the story that less than ten years prior was made into a film starring Harrison Ford. Lastly, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant change the comedy landscape with their mockumentary comedy The Office. Gervais stars as the fame-hungry boss from hell, David Brent, but the heart of the show is the brilliantly paced love story between Dawn and Tim, which remains one of the best depictions of a friendship turned romantic relationship on television.

Completano il mese The End of Oak Street, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia 18, Insidious: Fuori Dall'Altrove, La Vendetta Perfetta: Bear Country, Dark Matter 2 e The Whisper Man con Adam Scott e Robert De Niro. Sedici titoli selezionati, tra grandi ritorni, possibili sorprese, film già bocciati in partenza e almeno un'opera che dovete assolutamente vedere. (00:00) Primo posto su Apple Podcast! Clint, Meg, and Dan react to New Zealand’s first football World Cup loss since 1982 (blowing a 1–0 lead to lose 3–1) and look ahead to the next match. Dan shares a new half-marathon sponsorship with a chafing-cream brand and the awkward mid-race reapplication. They discuss UK politics and a game comparing world leaders’ time in power, then run movie trailer updates for Ricky Gervais’ Alley Cats and Taika Waititi’s Clara. The show plugs a Warehouse $2,000 trolley grab, chats Love Actually vs Jackass, and gets “naughty” about Clint’s wife smelling his farts after nasal surgery. Johnny Mac shares five good news stories: Safe Haven for Donkeys named a foal “Gervase” after Ricky Gervais donated £100,000 as part of £2.5 million split among 22 animal charities; the charity treats donkeys across Israel, the West Bank, Gaza, and parts of Egypt, and rescued a pregnant donkey, Debra, who gave birth at its Israel sanctuary. A McDonald's employee says the drive-thru is usually faster due to timed metrics, suggests ordering a double cheeseburger “dressed like a Big Mac” for less, and says some locations may give away leftover hash browns near 11 a.m. A 23-year-old professional queuer, AJ, charges about £250 to stand in lines. A Jacksonville furniture restoration couple found $600 and a gold coin in a dresser. If you blended up Karl's brain and fed it to someone, would it make any difference? They wouldn't even notice, would they? I think we would all agree with Ricky Gervais, who once said to Karl: "I love your brain."Hope you enjoy this compilation of Karl's weird brain, strange life, and fatuous musings. CHEERS!

This week on the Newberg Pod, Ricky Gervais rescues beagles and bears, Paul Hollywood allegedly goes 96 mph to save a cat, and Hayden Panettiere enters the conversation for reasons that somehow make sense by the end. We talk about the Kevin Hart roast, the least attractive hobby someone you liked can have, and whether mall Santas spend the entire offseason emotionally preparing for sticky children and panic sweating parents. We also debate whether anyone will ever actually use their doomsday bunker, the most useless consumer rewards systems in America, and play MFK with a drive in, a mall, and a cider mill. Plus rapid fire questions including favorite spectator sports, favorite cereals, favorite cereal killers, whether love at first sight only works if you never have to see the person again, and which famous serial killer would be the absolute worst person to get trapped in a car with for eight hours. All this and the usual chaos on the Newberg Pod.   Please like and subscribe and follow us on youtube: https://youtu.be/_HcflGFjYE0

Richard Gadd is the creative talent behind Baby Reindeer - the Netflix show which won six Primetime Emmys, two Golden Globes and garnered 84.5 million views within its first 45 days. Gadd began in stand-up, and by 2016 he'd won a Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Fringe. His work became known for its compulsive storytelling, blending dark comedy with a kind of philosophical kink for asking audiences the most uncomfortable questions. Now Gadd returns with Half Man, a six-part drama co-production between HBO and the BBC, which Gadd created, wrote, executive produced and stars in. In this episode we talk through his childhood, how it felt to be abruptly catapulted into being the most googled man on the planet following the release of Baby Reindeer and the complexity of identity and sexuality. ✨ IN THIS EPISODE: 03:13 Fame and Self Worth 05:37 Writing Dark Truths 06:52 Baby Reindeer Explosion 08:00 Becoming Ruben 09:40 Half Man Meaning 10:57 Workaholism Origins 23:58 Family Support After Trauma 24:30 Comedy Meets Abuse Healing 26:13 Rebuking Shame 27:51 Fame And Re Triggering 29:12 Stubbornness And Casting Martha 33:03 Sexuality Beyond Labels 36:15 Grudges Empathy Forgiveness 40:13 Athlete Failure And Closing

Can atheism really be reduced to “I'm not convinced”? In this episode, Trent Horn joins Matt Fradd to respond to some of the most popular atheist clips online, including arguments from Ricky Gervais, Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Matt Dillahunty, and Alex O'Connor. They tackle bad definitions of atheism, burden-shifting, the “one less god” objection, fine-tuning, divine hiddenness, and the problem of evil from a Catholic perspective. Whether you're wrestling with belief yourself or want better answers to common atheist objections, this conversation is packed with sharp arguments, clear distinctions, and practical ways to think through the debate.
