Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 76th episode of "VideoFuzzy," reporting the progress I've made in cataloging nearly 3,000 VHS transfers and digital recordings. For this installment, titled "Building a Mystery," in my Friday Night Feature I talk about the first nine episodes of ABC 2009 murder mystery "Harper's Island." (WATCH video here) In Cross Connections, I highlight Christian Clemenson as a Golden Thread through my media collection. Then, in response to a review by the "All About Agatha" podcasting team of Kemper Donovan and Catherine Brobeck, I post a VideoFuzzy Book Report on "At Bertram's Hotel" (WATCH video here) and kick off my Classic Collection (VHS-to-DVD) commentary with a deep cut commentary on my recording of "At Bertram's Hotel," archived to discs 199 and 200. Moving into my more recent cataloging, I've gotten through disc 1,175. I talk about network productions like "Un-Broke," "Earth 2100" with Bob Woodruff and Brian Williams' tour of Obama's White House. Also, late night guest appearances by Pearl Jam, Green Day, Bill Cosby and Melody Gardot lead into comments on a couple Current Collection productions on Freddie Mercury and Queen. I found the NBC series premiere of "The Listener," second season finale of AMC's "Breaking Bad," and a beautiful voiceover from an episode of USA's "In Plain Sight" I wanted to share. In my Current Collection (digital recordings), I enjoyed the first seasons of "Kevin Can F*** Himself," "Kung Fu" and "Rebel," as well as the second seasons of "A Discovery of Witches" and "Motherland: Fort Salem." I'm getting into "SurrealEstate," I have some thoughts on IFC's rebroadcast of "The Kids in the Hall," and more of a housekeeping item but from my blog entry I find that I've recorded two discs X405. In VideoFuzzy at the Movies, comments on "Caprice" (1967), "You Might Be the Killer" (2018), "Mary Poppins Returns" (2018), "The Foreigner" (2017), "The Green Book" (2018), "The Detective" (1967), "The Fly" (1958) and "The Curse of the Fly" (1965), "The Brothers Grimsby" (2016) and "The Front Runner" (2018). In what I've been watching, I opened with our visit to the Cornstock Theater in Peoria's summer production of "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) (Revised)" which was a lot of fun. I chat about Joel McHale's "Crime Scene Kitchen" and streaming episodes of "American Horror Stories" ahead of the tenth season of "American Horror Story: Double Feature" premiering this month. Finally, LINKS to my fourth- and fifth-ever entries of "VideoFuzzy: The Video," talking about ABC's "Harper's Island" (here) and Agatha Christie's "At Bertram's Hotel." (here) Check it out! In this episode, Patrick and Kiran address the big picture question: what is wrong with higher education today? In addition to being unaffordable, the outputs of traditional colleges and universities are out of sync with employer needs. Higher education institutions are slow to change, partly because there is little incentive to do so and partly because there is still a high value placed on the “college experience,” i.e. living in a dorm, joining teams and organizations, attending campus events, and socializing with peers.Patrick discusses in detail the myriad steps Western Governors University has taken to make post-secondary education accessible and affordable. They built flexibility into the system by allowing for asynchronous learning, beginning with class start dates every month rather than twice a year. Students can learn at their own pace by enrolling in as many courses as they need, allowing for balance with other jobs or personal commitments. WGU has also maintained a commitment to low tuition since its inception.Rather than offering grades, WGU uses a competency-based model for learning and assessment. Students do not receive grades; assignments are judged as “pass” or “not pass.” An assessment of “not pass” isn’t a failure. It means a student needs to revisit the material, continue to learn, and try again. Patrick believes this approach is more reflective of how students will receive feedback and continue to learn in the professional world. The episode wraps with a brief discussion of Patrick’s ideas about what higher education might look like in the future, and how the customers (students and eventually, employers) will drive transformation by focusing on the ability of education to facilitate earning power.Learn more about Patrick Partridge on LinkedIn and find his book You Might Be a Republican/Democrat If… on Amazon.Visit WGU.edu for more about Western Governors University. This episode is brought to you by N2N’s Illuminate App, The iPaaS for Higher Education. Do you have some lingering relationships ....that can be challenging …tear you down….cause grief…..have baggage…..long histories… ……these relationships can and DO zap our energy, steal our joy, drum up false beliefs about ourselves, and sometimes even stand in the way of achieving our dreams. Yes, addressing relationship stuff can feel overwhelming, but often remedies are simpler than you’d think if you know how to define the right fix. That’s why I’ve designed the Relationship Renovation Roadmap I can’t wait to show you how! Go to DefeatTheDrama.com/Roadmap to check it out! Have you ever heard Jeff Foxworthy’s “You Might Be a Redneck if…..” lists? They are hilarious! Well, I’m going to start with something similar, but you may not find it so funny. I call it the You Might Be a People Pleaser if: If you Constantly feel overwhelmed and scattered…..You might be a People Pleaser If you often feel unappreciated…..You might be a people pleaser. If you feel resentment towards most people in your life……you might be a people pleaser If everyone takes advantage of you….you might be a people pleaser…. If your life is filled with pushy people …….you might be a people pleaser If you just want everyone to be happy and will do almost anything to make it that way….You might be a people pleaser. If you rarely, if ever, ask anyone for help……you might be a people pleaser. If you often feel disappointed in others……you might be a people pleaser. If you’re afraid to share your disappointments or other negative feelings……you might be a people pleaser. If you aren’t even certain what having feelings means…You are DEFINITELY a People Pleaser! You tell yourself your friends, family members, employees, volunteers should just know what to do. You stuff your feelings or are not even aware of them – Maybe you aren’t even certain what I mean when I ask about your feelings You minimize your own wants and needs You excuse or justify away your need to speak up I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve had a people pleasing client tell me, I just want everyone to be happy. I’m just really nice. But here’s the reality; People Pleasers don’t just want others to be happy. They NEED others to be happy! And most are actually controlling and manipulating their way to that end. Yep….It’s true! Here’s the thought process: I want to be okay. I need you to be okay so that I can be okay. I will do whatever it takes for you to be okay. Doing anything can mean hiding true feelings, manipulating outcomes behind the scenes, having back hall conversations rather than speaking directly to anyone actually involved, avoiding tough conversations, lying or withholding information. And there are many unintended consequences, beyond the personal build-up of resentments, overwhelm, frustrations, disappointments, chaos that comes with trying to control the lives of everyone around you so that you can feel okay? The lost energy spent to track modified messages, make things happen covertly, stuffing true feelings while plastering a smile. Yes, beyond these personal consequences are these: Unintended Consequences: You Rob Others of their Opportunity to Excel – They have no idea you’d like them to do better or be different. By sulking in silence or complaining only to others you are robbing them of the chance to make a different choice. People can’t trust you: – Yep, that’s right! Whether it’s deep down or something they know to be true for certain, those around you can’t trust your words. You say you are fine, but are you really? You say you can help, but will you actually show? You say you’re happy with their achievements, but have they really done enough? Do you feel motivated to make the change that you must? Here 5 Steps to Stop Your People Pleasing Collect the Pain: Begin to notice where you feel resentment, disappointment towards others. Notice when you are overwhelmed and frustrated. Pay attention to all the times you put your agenda aside for someone else’s emergency or request. Determine What You Want/Need: It may have been a while since you thought about what you wanted. Practice doing some check ins throughout the day. Determine whether you are pretending to be happy or if you really are. Start Speaking Up: Begin saying no to requests where appropriate and start setting boundaries and asking for help from others. Set clear expectations for your employees. Provide constructive feedback where necessary. Gather Successes: As you speak up or say no and get a good response, take note. Remember all the times that your feared outcome did not happen. Start with people who are easier to speak with. Then work towards tackling the People Pushers in your life. Build Momentum: Continue to speak up as you build enthusiasm and feel empowered. Enjoy the feeling and keep going! Click here to view more information on the Relationship Renovation Roadmap

"Jaws isn't a horror movie," or "Hereditary was more of a family drama!" Here's the best: "It was really more of a thriller..." We've heard it all before. Despite unanimous consensus, some films seem to straddle the line of horror and "anything else." In this episode, Barnabas and Samael strip the surface labels away and examine what actually makes something a horror movie. Featured in the Cult Corner and Chopping Block this week are "Sleepaway Camp" and new Shudder original "You Might Be the Killer!"
To coincide with the fact that the film is now available for streaming on Shudder, here is the interview I conducted during this year's Toronto After Dark Film Festival with director Brett Simmons and star Fran Kranz about the meta horror-comedy You Might Be the Killer. 00:19 - Introductory Comments 01:19 - Clip: "You Might Be the Killer" by Harlo 01:44 - Interview - Brett Simmons and Fran Kranz on You Might Be the Killer *Some Spoilers* 11:56 - Closing Comments Related Links Toronto After Dark Review You Might Be the Killer on Shudder

“If you have a network marketing business there’s a really good chance that you aren’t a true introvert.” This week on the Authentic Influencer Podcast, we’re talking about how to make it in network marketing as an introvert. If you are involved in network marketing or have an interest in this area of business, you are probably not a true introvert! Life as an entrepreneur (and a successful human) is about continuing to find ways to grow and move forward. You aren’t trapped as an introvert! “The faster that I grow, which really is the faster that I can fail, the faster those things can get fixed, and the faster that you can have something even better.” Brooke shares her personal experience with learning to break out of her shell. She grew up believing she was an introvert and began her network marketing business fearful of chatting on the phone and approaching people. If you identify with this struggle, make sure to listen in and learn more about how Brooke overcame the challenges faced by an extroverted introvert. “Your reach is only limited by the stretching of yourself. You can only reach so many people if you aren’t willing to stretch.” Each week we leave you with a challenge to help you apply the concepts we discussed to your life. If you haven’t already, take the time this week to identify where you are. Are you an introvert, extrovert, or an ambivert? After you’ve identified your type, do one thing that is out of your comfort zone. Challenging yourself and doing the things that take a little courage are the best way to grow in your business and in your life! Get a little uncomfortable this week. “Balance in everything is where the harmony and greatest success comes.” Some Topics we talk about in this episode: Introduction - 0:54 You Might Be an Extroverted Introvert If You… - 2:51 How Brooke Conquered the Confines of Being an Introvert - 7:32 Why Personal Growth Directly Correlates to Your Intentional Effort - 12:03 Finding Balance in Community and Relationship - 15:36 Wrap-up and Takeaways - 18:48 How to get involved If you are ready to stop living in scarcity and have the wealth you’ve always wanted, check out www.socialtenacity.com/gift and get a free gift just for listening! Welcome to the third installment of the HeartBrokeBeatz series. This mix is painfully honest. It was difficult to create. Although the story may involve a boy, it’s not about him really. It’s about my experience of falling for a fantasy, through my eyes...and my voice, along with @cardlinaudio, voicing the male counterpart. I can’t thank him enough for helping me bring my creative vision to life with his resonant and emotional vocals. If you’re ready to hear my truth, open your heart and press play. tracklist: 1. Starseeds are souls who have experienced incarnations in locations other than Earth. They come to Earth to serve the planet. I discuss the qualities of a starseed during childhood and adulthood. The number of children who are starseeds are increasing. I discuss how these children are often diagnosed with psychological disorders because the origins of their behavior are misunderstood. I also offer suggestions about how the parents of started children can adjust their own behavior toward their child in an effort to support them and help them to understand themselves. Here is the link for the episode, You Might Be a Hero (and Other Helpful Perspectives), that I mentioned in the podcast. Take Action Item: Identify who in your life might be a starseed. Regardless if it is you or a loved one, make an effort to suspend judgment of the behaviors or opinions that you do not understand. If you are the starseed, practice being genuinely yourself in at least one situation in the next week. Wishing you peace and love!

Hi, and welcome to the Open Licensed Music Podcast, the show where we highlight music from artists who let you share their music. I'm Ralph Wacksworth, and today's episode is featuring funny music, all of which has lyrics.Quantum Entanglement (2:36) - The FuMP - BandCampAA Battery Controlled Telescopic Knife (3:33)Love and Romance Game (3:03) - Jamendo - Internet ArchiveYou Might Be (4:29)It's F***ing Cold Outside (edited) (1:29)That was Quantum Entanglement by Glen Raphael, which is available from The Funny Music Project or his BandCamp website. While you're at it check out some of his other songs on his BandCamp site - he's got some really hilarious stuff on there. After that was AA Battery Controlled Telescopic Knife by Look Left, which is available from The Funny Music Project. Then we had Love and Romance Game by Mind Cabaret, which used to be available from Jamendo but is now available at The Internet Archive. Next up was You Might Be by Insane Ian, which is available from The Funny Music Project. Finishing up was a maybe just a wee bit censored version of It's F***ing Cold Outside by Fortress of Attitude, which is available from The Funny Music Project. All five songs in this set are licensed under an Attribution Noncommercial Share-Alike license. As of right now, when I'm putting this episode together, that song's currently hilariously relatable, however from the weather it's looking like by the time this airs it'll be a bit warmer. Regardless, I don't normally like to play songs that I have to heavily censor, but that song was such a humdinger I figured it was worth censoring anyway. I try to keep this podcast pretty much squeaky clean. Hope you enjoyed it.Kittens for Sale (2:45)Firm Thighs (2:08)Sprinkles On My Donut (4:30)Autocomplete (Featuring Worm Quartet) (edited) (4:43)I Love Doritos (2:05)That was Kittens for Sale by TV's Kyle, which is available from The Funny Music Project. After that was Firm Thighs by Fuzzy Logic, which is available from Jamendo. Then we had Sprinkles On My Donut by Art Paul Schlosser, which is available from The Funny Music Project Sideshow. And, yeah, pretty much all of his songs are like that. Next up was a somewhat edited version of Autocomplete (Featuring Worm Quartet) by Devo Spice, which is available from The Funny Music Project. And finishing up was I Love Doritos by Todd Chappelle, which is available from The Funny Music Project Sideshow. All five songs in this set are licensed under an Attribution Noncommercial Share-Alike license.Today's app-of-the-day is Mozilla Thunderbird, an e-mail client program. It has functionality for checking, organizing, and sending e-mail from multiple providers and has a ton of plugins available which allow you to add even more functionality to it. One plugin in particular I like is called Lightning, which adds calendar functionality. It's very easy to use, easy to install, and is free and open source. It's available for Linux, OS/2, OpenSolaris and OpenIndiana, BSD, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows. Download it today from mozilla.org/thunderbirdNow for a short noncommercial break from one of our nonsponsors, followed by more music. And as a heads-up, the first song in the next set is a really hard to locate joke that, if you get it, is hilarious, but if you miss or otherwise can't understand the first couple words it won't make any sense. The joke is explained afterward, but keep your ears peeled. The FuMPLorem Ipsum (4:33)Free Water (edited) (4:21)Best Game Ever (edited) (4:31)T.F.O.S. (2:35)The New Me (edited) (3:30)That was an edited version of Podcast Promo by The FuMP, which is available from The Funny Music Project and is licensed under an Attribution Noncommercial Share-Alike license. After that was Lorem Ipsum by kerrymarsh, which is available from SoundCloud and is licensed under an Attribution license. Those of you with design experience may have recognized that they were singing filler text called Lorem Ipsum. Anyway, then we had a slightly edited version of Free Water by Redbox and the Chilipeppers, which is available from The Funny Music Project and is licensed under an Attribution Noncommercial Share-Alike license. Now, you'd think this'd be common sense, but based on conversations with some people, please don't do that. Someone has to pay for your utility usage, be it water, gas, electricity, or otherwise and if it's not you it's just going to be made up for in your costs somewhere else eventually. Rant aside, next up was a slightly edited version of Best Game Ever by Mikey Mason, which is available from The Funny Music Project and is licensed under an Attribution Noncommercial Share-Alike license. After that was T.F.O.S. by Eoghnved Mmrkuudnen, which is available from The Funny Music Project Sideshow and is licensed under an Attribution Noncommercial Share-Alike license. And finishing up was an edited version of The New Me by Dino-Mike, which is available from The Funny Music Project and is licensed under an Attribution Noncommercial Share-Alike license. So, that's all for today. Remember - piracy of commercial music only proves your dependence on that model and justifies further censorship and restriction. So don't pirate it - replace it with something better. Listen to open licensed music, donate to the artists behind it, go to concerts, and buy music from artists whose record labels don't see you as their enemies. Support artists where your support actually counts. This episode was made using Gentoo Linux, Xubuntu Linux, Audacity, Audacious for organizing playlists, and Leafpad for notes, and is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution Noncommercial Share-Alike license. (Luke 14:15) (NLT) Hearing this, a man sitting at the table with Jesus exclaimed, “What a blessing it will be to attend a banquet in the Kingdom of God!” (Luke 14:16-20) (NLT) Jesus replied with this story: “A man prepared a great feast and sent out many invitations. When the banquet was ready, he sent his servant to tell the guests, ‘Come, the banquet is ready.' But they all began making excuses. One said, ‘I have just bought a field and must inspect it. Please excuse me.' Another said, ‘I have just bought five pairs of oxen, and I want to try them out. Please excuse me.' Another said, ‘I now have a wife, so I can't come.' (Luke 14:21) (NLT) The servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was furious… (Luke 14:21) (NLT) His master was furious and said, ‘Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and invite the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.' The Underdogs to Invite: 1. The Poor – Those who have been cheated by the world. 2. The Crippled –Those who have been broken down by the world. 3. The Blind –Those who have never had a chance to see. 4. The Lame –Those who need a touch from Jesus. (Luke 14:22-23) (NLT) After the servant had done this, he reported, ‘There is still room for more.' So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full.
