Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another unfiltered, no-holds-barred episode of the Mike Drop Podcast—where relevancy is irrelevant, and we dive headfirst into the raw stories of warriors, survivors, and straight-up legends. In the shadowy underbelly of the early internet, one man turned the tables on a digital predator like no one else could. Dr. James McGibney, a former U.S. Marine and founder of Bullyville.com, orchestrated the downfall of Hunter Moore—the infamous "revenge porn king" behind IsAnyoneUp.com, the site's explosive takedown chronicled in Netflix's gripping documentary The Most Hated Man on the Internet. What started as a personal vow to infiltrate Moore's world, befriend him, and dismantle his empire from the inside became a masterclass in digital vigilantism, proving that sometimes, to beat a bully, you have to out-bully them. But McGibney's story isn't just about cyber sleuthing; it's forged in the fires of unimaginable hardship. Born in the South Bronx, he endured a childhood ripped apart by domestic violence, foster care horrors—including abuse that left scars deeper than code—and a burning quest for retribution that shaped his unyielding drive. From ripping out his own braces in a defiant act of rebellion to channeling that rage into protecting the vulnerable, McGibney's path reveals how personal demons fuel world-changing justice. Buckle up for this mike drop episode, where McGibney drops raw truths on everything from his Marine days and cyber security expertise to the meticulous, "psychotic" beauty of intelligent revenge. It's a riveting blend of heartbreak, heroism, and hard-won wisdom that reminds us: in a world of anonymous cowards, one voice—amplified by grit—can shatter empires. Learn more about your ad choices. Jack is back as we discuss Paradiso, Jack's favorite part of Dante's Divine Comedy. I absolutely love getting to chat with him again (see a couple of earlier episodes linked below). We talk about why he loves Dante in general, and Paradiso in particular. Highlights include:Dante's bravery (or chutzpah!) in writing his poetry and scholarly works in Italian rather than Latin;Who Dante is for (spoiler--it's for YOU), and why (the title of this episode is a big hint!);How people of different ages see Dante in a different light; Why a map of Heaven is really hard to draw, especially compared to Hell and Purgatory.Jack wrote his thesis on part of Paradiso, and he has a lot of experience in the classroom with the Divine Comedy, so he brings a lot of his knowledge to expand on what we've been talking about for the last two weeks. This episode forms a kind of trilogy on Crack the Book: two weeks ago we discussed Inferno, and last week my friend Lisa and I covered Purgatorio. It's my hope that these three podcasts will inspire you to pick up your own copy of the Divine Comedy and jump in.Next week we start Shakespeare...so get ready.LINKTed Gioia/The Honest Broker's 12-Month Immersive Humanities Course (paywalled!)My Amazon Book List (NOT an affiliate link)Crack the Book, Inferno EpisodeCrack the Book, Purgatorio EpisodeCONNECTThe complete list of Crack the Book Episodes: https://cheryldrury.substack.com/p/crack-the-book-start-here?r=u3t2rTo read more of my writing, visit my Substack - https://www.cheryldrury.substack.com.Follow me on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/cldrury/ LISTENSpotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/5GpySInw1e8IqNQvXow7Lv?si=9ebd5508daa245bdApple Podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/crack-the-book/id1749793321 Captivate - https://crackthebook.captivate.fm

While some deny the existence of Hell, the concept is present in Scripture. Hell is described as the place reserved for fallen angels and those who have rejected the Gospel (2 Thessalonians 1:9; Matthew 25:41; Revelation 14:10).

I'm excited to have the Angel of Hell's Kitchen, Alli, join me from Philadelphia for this latest episode of the podcast! We get to talk about some wonderful fandoms and her work. Alli and I kick things off by talking about The Hunger Games franchise. We cover both the movies and books (including Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and The Sunrise on the Reaping). Alli discusses some of the differences between them, and why she loves and revists the series often. We talk about favorite characters, favorite movies, and more. We also explore the idea of potential future books (and movies) and which characters we'd love to see featured. From there, we go to Westeros to talk about Game of Thrones. Alli talks about how she first got into the HBO series, and what kept her coming back for more. We talk about her favorite house and characters, her thoughts on the series, and what she'd love to see if there were even more spinoff's. Then we get to Marvel. We focus primarily on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with what movies Alli started with, and her favorite movies/shows. We talk about favorite characters, thoughts on the upcoming movies (especially the future X-Men movie), as well as characters not yet in the MCU - Psylocke, and Silk. We briefly discuss some of the comics those characters appear in. Lastly, we wrap up with a conversation about Cosplay. Alli talks about how she first got into Cosplay, as well as how she chooses which characters to cosplay. We talk about some of the ideas she has for photoshoots, and what she'd love to do in the future with cosplay. I had Hilary Pollack on to discuss the 1991 movie 'Hook'. Hell yeah.
In the sketch, Adam Driver appears as Jeffrey Epstein in Hell, sharing space with other controversial public figures—one being Alan Dershowitz (played by Jon Lovitz). The setup is absurd and dark: Dershowitz is preparing his impeachment defense when he ends up transported to Hell, where he is greeted by Epstein, who greets everything with an unnerving nonchalance, saying he's “just hanging” in Hell, a grim reference to Epstein's death by suicide in prison. The sketch mingles satire with shock, using the ludicrous setting to comment on how scandal, power, denial, and guilt function in public lifeThe cold open also includes other figures in Hell—Mitch McConnell, Flo from Progressive, the “Baby Shark” songwriter, etc.—turning the scene into a weirdly populated waiting room of immoral celebrity and public scandal. There are jokes about conspiracy theories around Epstein's death, with Epstein quipping “I wish you could have been there in person” after Dershowitz complains about missing something, and Epstein responding “Yeah, it's too bad I was murdered.” The tone is uncomfortable comedy: it forces laughter but also forces audience to think about the real grotesque elements of the Epstein scandal—death, power, impunity. To contact me:Bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:https://www.google.com/amp/s/nypost.com/2020/01/26/snl-cold-open-alan-dershowitz-reunites-with-just-hanging-jeffrey-epstein-in-hell/amp/Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

Coleton preached on Jesus' triumphal entry and how Jesus seeks to make two central claims: 1. Jesus is the Messianic King — the crowd's actions and the fulfillment of prophecy (Zechariah 9:9) show that Jesus openly claims the kingship. He accepts royal honor (“Hosanna,” cloaks, branches) and—when challenged—refuses to silence the praise, even saying that if the people were quiet “the stones would cry out.” N. T. Wright: “You don't spread cloaks on the road –especially in the dusty, stony Middle East!–for a friend, or even a respected senior member of your family. You do it for royalty. And you don't cut branches off trees, or foliage from the fields, to wave in the streets just because you feel somewhat elated; you do it because you are welcoming a king.” Jesus claim to be King forces a decision: is Jesus merely a helpful healer/teacher, or is He your sovereign King who rules your life? C. S. Lewis: “A really foolish thing that people often say about Jesus is: ‘I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God.' That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man yet said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic (like a man who says he is a poached egg)—or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronising nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.” We have to choose to receive or reject Jesus as King. 2. Jesus is not like other kings — unlike Roman triumphs that display conquest, prisoners, and plunder, Jesus rides a colt (a sign of peace and humility) and is followed by people He's healed and freed. His reign looks like liberation, restoration, and sacrificial service, not domination and bondage. David Guzik & Dr. David L. McKenna “A Roman Triumphal Entry was an honor granted to a Roman general who won a complete and decisive victory and had killed at least 5,000 enemy soldiers. When the general returned to Rome, they had an elaborate parade. As a symbol of bloody conquest, they chose a prancing horse at the head of a processional that included his warriors, a shackled contingent of the conquered people, and an extravagant display of the treasures that the army had taken by force. The procession ended at the arena, where some of the prisoners were thrown to wild animals for the entertainment of the crowd. Now we understand why Jesus is so specific about His entry and the animal He rides. In the symbol of the foal of a donkey, Jesus predicts His role as the King. Jesus makes His triumphal entry on a donkey—a symbol of peace, not war; of humility, not pride. Behind Him comes (not prisoners but), an entourage of disciples and a rabble of common people whom He has healed and set free. They serve as the trophies of His conquest—not won by bloody violence, but by relentless love.” Why it matters: if Jesus is truly your King, He gets to govern all areas of life (money, marriage, speech, media, anger, forgiveness, political loyalties, etc.). That means surrendering personal control and letting his values shape decisions and habits. If you resist that rule you may still experience a Christian language of forgiveness and blessing but not the transforming reality of Jesus' kingdom — a kingdom characterized by love, freedom, reconciliation, generosity, and joy even amid suffering. Coleton closes with a pointed question to wrestle with: Is Jesus your King? and invites people to examine which kingdom's traits actually define their life. ⸻ Practical takeaways • The triumphal entry publicly declares Jesus' kingship — it's not optional or merely symbolic. • Jesus' kingship is servant and liberating, not coercive or violent. • To truly follow him means handing over areas of life where you still rule, and allowing his kingdom fruit (love, peace, patience, generosity, freedom, reconciliation) to grow. • Evaluate life by asking: “Whose kingdom am I experiencing here?” If it's not Jesus', return and make Him King. ⸻ Discussion & Small-group / Personal practice questions Use these to help people put the sermon into practice — mix of reflection, confession, and action. 1- Read Mark 11:1–11. What detail(s) jump out at you this time that you hadn't noticed before? Why might those details matter? 2. Coleton says Jesus forces a choice: King or not. What makes accepting Jesus' kingship hard for you personally? 3. Take one area of your life (money, marriage, parenting, social media, anger). Describe which kingdom (Jesus' kingdom or the world's) best describes how you act there. What would one concrete step toward Jesus' rule in that area look like this week? (Give a measurable, time-bound step.) 4. Jesus' kingship carries moral demands (forgiveness, loving enemies, turning the other cheek). Pick one relationship where forgiveness or reconciliation is needed. What is one small, courageous next step you can take to reflect Jesus' reign there? 5. Reflect on the two portraits of kingship (Roman/violent vs. Jesus/humble). Where in your life are you tempted to imitate a worldly kingdom (control, domination, proving self)? How can you choose the way of Christ instead? 6. The sermon notes the kingdom's fruit (love, joy, peace, patience…). Which of those fruits are present in your life now? Which are absent? 7. Coleton said there are places where Jesus is king and places where you still rule. Name one “pocket” of your life where you still want to be sovereign. What would it look like to hand that pocket over to Jesus today? ⸻ Scripture quoted in the sermon Zechariah 9:9–10 (NKJV excerpt used): “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.” Psalm 118:25–26 (referred to as source of “Hosanna” / welcoming the Deliverer). Luke 19:38–40 (quoted in part): “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” … Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” … “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.” Philippians 2:6–8 (paraphrase/quote of Paul): “Who, being in very nature God, did not consider His equality with God as something to be used to his own advantage; rather, He made himself nothing… He humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!”
Burned Over!In 2021, Montana firefighter Dan Steffensen tried to outrun a sixty-mile-an-hour wall of fire. But it overcame him, burning over 60% of his body. He should have died. The citizens of Red Lodge, Montana, needed him an prayed for his life. Three more tragedies hit his hometown during that "Summer of Hell." Drawing from a wealth of interviews and research, author A.J. Otjen tells the inspiring story of how often first responders, doctors, and hundreds of good people stepped up to greatness. All the while, Dan fought his own internal battle to live or die.Want to be a guest on Book 101 Review? A MIRACULOUS healing led to a Syrian warrior carrying mule loads of dirt from Israel back to Damascus. Why did Naaman the Syrian do that? In the ancient world, it was understood that every nation had a patron deity. For Syria, that was the storm-god Hadad, better known to us as Baal. For Israel, it was Yahweh—although Jezebel and her children tried hard to replace the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob with Baal, Astarte, and the rest of the Canaanite pantheon. When the prophet Elisha instructed Naaman to wash in the Jordan to be healed of his leprosy, Naaman was angry, expecting something more elaborate—a ritual of some kind. But after following the prophet's instructions and being restored to full health, Naaman realized the true God was Yahweh, not Baal, and Israel was His home. So, Naaman loaded two mules with dirt and carried it back to Syria—not because it held magical properties, but because it was a reminder of the one God with the power to heal. The concept of “holy ground” was established after the Tower of Babel, as described in Deuteronomy 32: When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he divided mankind, he fixed the borders of the peoples according to the number of the sons of God.But the LORD's portion is his people, Jacob his allotted heritage. (Deut. 32:8–9, ESV) In other words, God allotted the people of Earth to angelic representatives who were tempted into receiving worship themselves, but He chose Israel as the conduit through which He would bring forth the Messiah to save the world from those fallen entities. We also discuss the way God delivered the northern kingdom of Israel from a prolonged siege of Samaria by the Syrians—despite the continued apostasy of Samaria. Today we're in the Book of Revelation, and looking at how to overcome the enemy.
Some stories aren't just ghost tales—they're warnings. This chilling true story began with a single mistake: a mother and her friend playing with a Ouija board in a quiet California home. What started as fun turned sinister when the board revealed her grandmother's name… then spelled HELL. Finally, it named itself: DEMON. That night marked the beginning of years of terror. The board came back after being thrown away. A sister saw a panther growling from her closet. A ventriloquist doll refused to stay hidden. Sleep paralysis gripped the children. A demonic face appeared in the living room. Shadows followed. Even their grandmother was attacked. The darkest moment came when their mother nearly lost her mind—crawling on the floor, reciting the 23rd Psalm to fight possession. The family would endure spiritual warfare until calling on God for help. With Ouija Awareness Month approaching, this story is more than entertainment—it's a chilling warning: Ouija boards are not a game. #RealGhostStoriesOnline #OuijaBoard #HauntedHouse #DemonicPossession #ParanormalActivity #ChildhoodHaunting #ShadowPerson #SleepParalysis #GhostStory #HauntedDoll #SpiritualWarfare #TrueGhostStory Love real ghost stories? Charlie Kirk went from a heavily mocked “lolcow” with astroturfed appeal to a hardened MAGA loyalist and bonafide celebrity known for publishing heavily edited debate-style clips to social media. On September 10, a man assassinated him, shooting him dead in front of a large crowd at Utah Valley University. This episode examines both how Kirk died and how he lived. We talk about how Kirk created TPUSA, a key organizing arm of MAGA, how he contributed to the events of January 6, 2021, and his history of making bigoted remarks. The episode details how Kirk changed after the so-called "Groyper Wars" against Nick Fuentes's followers and how the Right has responded to his killing.--Patreon: patreon.com/PostingThroughIt--We reference and recommend a few sources on this podcast:Kyle Spencer, “Charlie Kirk Needed a Friend” Madeline Peltz, “Charlie Kirk Was Preparing MAGA's Future” Posting Through It, “Who the Hell Is Jack Posobiec?–with Hannah Gais”Posting Through It, “Who the Hell Is Nick Fuentes?–with Amanda Moore”Transition Music: "Feds Watching" by 2 Chainz and Pharrell Williams

THE DEATH of Charlie Kirk Wednesday shocked the world. It was the most high-profile assassination in recent American history. The founder of Turning Point USA was in the middle of an event at Utah Valley University when his life was cut short, allegedly by a shot fired by 22-year-old Tyler Robinson. The response on social media has ranged from grief and anger by those who admired and respected Charlie, and outright joy and celebration by those who interpreted his overtly Christian message as hateful and dangerous. That's the key to understanding what is otherwise a senseless event. Jesus warned us in the last days, “They will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake” (Matt. 24:9, ESV). Our mission going forward is to honor Charlie Kirk's legacy by proclaiming the gospel as he did—boldly, but with gentleness and respect. Welcome back to another episode of Denim Wrapped Nightmares, where Berly and LA tackle Supernatural Season 8, Episode 12: "As Time Goes By" - and this one's a real family reunion! What Went Down:The episode kicks off in 1958 with a dapper gentleman in a trench coat saying goodbye to his sleeping son. This mystery man heads to what looks like a secret society meeting, only to find demon Abaddon (possessing the lovely Josie) murdering everyone in sight. Armed with a mysterious box and some blood magic, he creates a portal to escape... and crashes right through Sam and Dean's motel closet in 2013! Plot twist: it's Henry Winchester - John's dad and the boys' grandfather they never knew existed. The Big Reveals:Henry Winchester is alive! Well, he was. John's father didn't abandon his family - he time-traveled to protect a supernatural artifactMen of Letters exist! Think Hogwarts library meets Monster Hunters Anonymous - they're the brains to hunters' brawnAbaddon is terrifying - A Knight of Hell handpicked by Lucifer himself, and she's got style (love that devil-themed t-shirt theft)That box is important - Contains the key to every supernatural object, scroll, and spell ever collected. Talk about your ultimate supernatural storage unit! The Family Drama:Henry learns his "legacy" grandkids are just lowly hunters (the horror!), while Dean gets to process having yet another family member who prioritized "the greater good" over being there for their kid. The apple doesn't fall far from the Winchester tree of abandonment issues. The final showdown features Henry getting gutted (not in the fun way), but managing to trap Abaddon with a devil's trap carved into a bullet before Dean decapitates her. Henry dies, but not before telling the boys he's proud of the men John raised.Memorable Moments:Henry's Houdini handcuff trick that had everyone confusedThe "Mayans were wrong" joke about 2013Dean checking out the comic book store clerk (memorable enough that Abaddon noticed)Henry's magical sleeping powder that worked VERY well on the shop ownerThe coordinates to the "safest place on earth" - next stop on the Winchester world tour!Gore Counter:Relatively tame episode - some bleeding eyes, throat slitting, and Henry's stomach situation, but nothing too splooge-worthy for our hosts' official count. The Setup:The boys now have coordinates to a supernatural safe house that supposedly contains every magical artifact ever collected. Will this be their supernatural Costco? Can they finally help Kevin with those pesky demon tablets? And will they ever call Castiel for backup in these life-or-death situations? The hosts loved Henry's character, Abaddon's fabulous villainy, and the family legacy revelations. A solid episode that adds new layers to Winchester family history while setting up future adventures!"One of you must know John Winchester." Bill McKibben discusses his new book Here Comes the Sun: A Last Chance for the Climate and a Fresh Chance for Civilization, making the case for renewables as civilization's best hope. He has long argued that we can't save the planet without a massive overhaul of how we live, but here he answers a challenge to whether that was ever right. McKibben dismisses geoengineering as “junkie's logic,” yet warns it may be forced if clean energy isn't embraced quickly. Plus, a reflection on cycles of American political violence—reminders that past eras were bloodier, and that public appetite for violence often diminishes rather than escalates. At 1:40 AM on Saturday, September 28, 1974, police got a call about a traffic accident on State Highway 77 in Crittenden County Arkansas, three miles north of the Lake David Overpass. When they got there they found a 1964 Chevrolet which was stopped in the southbound lane of the highway. Near the abandoned car in a ditch, they found the body of 35-year-old Fred New Jr., a married father of three who worked the night shift at a local trucking company. Fred had been shot, three times, at very close range, with a shotgun. He had been shot in the neck, the side and the elbow. His shoes and socks had been removed and he had no identification. His pockets were turned out and the money he had on him which according to his wife was around $200, had been stolen. There was blood in the front of the car. Fred was lying in a pool of blood near the back of the vehicle - so either his killer or killers threw him out of the car, or he stumbled out after being shot and his killer fired the final shot or shots outside the car. Police got the call about Fred’s car after another driver ran into it, as it was stalled on the highway. But that driver fled the scene. And then, near where Fred’s body was found, police learned that a local gas station had been robbed. So they had a robbery, a hit-and-run, and a brutal execution style murder - all in the same night in the same small town.
