He is also the author of the Friday Forward newsletter, read around the world by 200,000 people. Robert, welcome to the show. Thanks for having me, Steve. Well, let's start with the beginning. How does one, be it five successful companies, writes multiple best-selling books when they still look much too young for my eyes? Do you see that? Maybe not five successful companies, but I had the failures first, so maybe that was a good learning. But yeah, look, I probably unsustainably burned it at all ends for almost a decade. And so I'm doing some revisiting of my own physical capacity and trying to be more sequential in some of my work and not do everything at once. But a lot of it was really tied together, right? I was building, when I was building the business and acceleration partners, because I was a lot of sharing a lot of those stories and doing the writing. And my role in the organization evolved over time to be more of the sort of strategy and the culture. And I had a great kind of partner who took over the operation, the pieces that they often found in different people. So what does it mean, Partnership Marketing Agency? What does partnership marketing look like? Yeah, we're a big fish in a small pond. So we focus on what partner and affiliate marketing, which is a form of digital marketing. And unlike kind of people Google, which is per click or Facebook or things that are impression based. Uh, this is where brands partner with publishers or affiliates who agree to promote their product or services, have everything tracked, and then they only get paid, uh, when it performs, sort of cost per action. So you could imagine, you know, you could be a partner of Amazon or affiliate and, you know, after this podcast and a recap and say, here are Bob's five best books. And if people buy those, you make 5% or 6% on each book. So it's actually a big part of e-commerce. It's probably about 20%. I think it's not as talked about in public because people writing these lists and bestsellers and influencers, and they're not doing all this stuff out of the goodness of their heart, but they may not want to make it super clear that anything you click on and buy from them, they get paid a part of. But this is basically how the content world is marrying up with the commerce world online. A lot of people talk about influencer marketing and how influencers are so critical in promoting products, especially more mature products.  Influencers big. And again, it depends on how you pay, like influencers are also affiliate. Some get paid $10,000 to build content and run a campaign, and some are actually just paid based on what they sell. So it's just sort of the model around that. So it's all about finding the balance of providing the content and the advertising and how do you not burn out your followers, I guess. You have to be authentic. You can, for a while, get away with just promoting things because you get paid for them. But I think the people who are actually most successful at this have huge fallings, a lot of authenticity, a lot of trust with their audience. And what's happening today is that people trust other people about what to buy more than they trust the brand telling them.

And based on your feedback, many of these guests resonated with you as well so we're giving you another chance to hear them in this series of 2023 listener-favorite episodes! This week, we're bringing back an episode with Robert Glazer. He is a sought-after speaker by companies and organizations around the world and is the host of The Elevate Podcast.   THIS EPISODE IS PERFECT FOR… leaders who want to foster a culture of growth and anybody who is managing a virtual team.  TODAY'S MAIN MESSAGE… the growth of an organization is proportionate to the growth of the individuals on the team. Just as much as leaders focus on business growth, they should focus on the growth of their employees who are on the ground doing the work. Robert breaks this down into four key elements: spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and physical.  WHAT I LOVE MOST… the way that Robert manages employees against agreed-upon KPIs instead of sporadically checking in on small steps along the way. This gives his remote team autonomy and flexibility to achieve their goals and, ultimately, reinforces a culture of trust.  Running Time: 28:10 Subscribe on iTunes Find Tiffani Online: Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Find Robert Online: Official Website Twitter LinkedIn Robert's Book: Elevate

You're always working to elevate your company, but how can you get your team to come along for the ride? Today's episode focuses on the intersection of people, leadership, and execution, especially in remote companies.   Robert Glazer is the founder and Chairman of the Board of Acceleration Partners, the premier global partner marketing agency that has won over 30 awards for its world-class company culture. He leads a fully-remote team of over 270 people.   Robert is the Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author of books on topics such as peak performance, personal growth, partner marketing, and excelling in the world of remote work.   A lot of companies are playing defense in their team strategy right now. After the exhaustion of the pandemic, companies are struggling to focus on healthy, sustainable growth. How can you build your team up holistically in ways that benefit the individual as well as the company?   Pandemic hangover is still very much present, so how can leaders get their teams back to a place of enthusiasm for growth? Robert's new book highlights examples of leaders who have failed by going 100 miles an hour. The message that a leader sends out makes a huge difference in the actions and attitudes of the team.   In addition to the physical aspect of leading a team by example, emotional leadership is key. Leaders who are willing to show vulnerability and authenticity create a safe space for their team to show up as their whole, emotional, and spiritual selves as well. As Robert says, the only way to be a Level 5 Leader is with exceptional self-awareness and authenticity about the ways that you lead by your values.   Interview Links: Elevate Your Team: Empower Your Team To Reach Their Full Potential and Build A Business That Builds Leaders, by Robert Glazer Robert Glazer   Resources: Scaling For Any Economy Scaling Coach Bill on YouTube Recruiter.com Short List (use code scaleup)   Scaling Up is the best-selling book by Verne Harnish and our team for Scaling Up Coaches (formerly Gazelles).
