When a light source is placed against the skin, photons penetrate several centimeters down and are absorbed by the mitochondria (the energy-producing part of a cell). This energy results in the restoration of normal cell function. The main goal of laser therapy is to stimulate the cell to perform its natural functions but at an enhanced rate. This greatly speeds up the body's natural healing process to repair the damaged tissues and produce more healthy cells.About Dr. Jeffrey Roistacher D.C.Dr. Jeffrey Roistacher has been in private practice for more than 23 years since graduating from the prestigious Life University in Marietta, Georgia, with a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree. Today we have a special treat. We have back with us (after way too long of a break) one of our favorite guests Dr. Maximillian Zart from the Healthiest You Chiropractic Center and Crossfit Strongsville in Strongsville Ohio.   I wanted to get Dr. Max back on the show as there are huge things going on at the Healthiest You Chiropractic Center and Crossfit Strongsville. A few years ago Dr. Max decided to look at a different space to move into to help him expand his clinic and the gym. He bought a building to move into and started renovating it to meet their needs. The new building is 22,500 square feet with approximately 7,000 of that being space for the gym. This is a huge expansion from their previous spaces of 2,500 square feet for the clinic and 2,300 square feet for the gym. The Healthiest You Chiropractic Center is now the largest chiropractic clinic in northeast Ohio and was opened in April of 2022.   Dr. Max and his wife Chrissy have also purchased Crossfit Strongsville from the previous owners. When they moved into the new space they also merged with Strong Tower Fitness. The new space is setup very well and I'm personally excited to see where they go in the next couple of years.   Dr. Max attended Baldwin Wallace University where he graduated Suma Cum Laude with a degree in chemistry. Dr. Max furthered his studies at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Florida where he graduated valedictorian of his class with a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree.   You can make an appointment to see Dr. Max at his office located at 12608 Alameda Dr. Strongsville, Ohio 44149. Or call the office at 440-238-3338. Visit THYCHIRO.com to find out more about his practice. He is by far the best chiropractor I have been to. Everyone I send to him says the same thing. You won't regret it.   If you're interested in getting back into shape and are looking for a gym with a great atmosphere check out Crossfit Strongsville located at 12608 Alameda Dr. Strongsville, Ohio 44149.   As the son of renowned Major League Baseball pitcher Tommy John who played in the Major Leagues for 26 seasons and was the first person to come back in 1974 from the revolutionary surgery named the Tommy John Surgery, it is not surprising that Dr. Tommy developed a passion for proper healing and physical function as he witnessed firsthand the outcomes of injury, innovation, and principled healing. Dr. John shares with us the problems he is seeing, and research is showing when youth specialize too early in sport, and ways we can prevent and protect our young athletes!   Tommy John played professional baseball but he didn’t begin specializing in that sport until the age of 17. His parents, even though his dad was a professional baseball player encouraged playing many different sports growing up, or just playing in general. As children, we are not SUPPOSED to be good at a particular sport. We need to try a variety of things and have fun with it. Tommy is adamant that children shouldn't specialize too early in one sport. He defines specialization as COMPETING in one sport more than 8 months at of the year and because of research specialization in a sport is the single greatest risk factor of youth injury. Research is also saying that a multi-sport background whether organized or not, we get better grades in school, we choose better foods for breakfast, we get better sleep, better self-efficacy, less depression. We are now prepared to be healthier and happier adults. Consequences that we are seeing in our youth due to too early of specialization: burnout, not fun anymore which leads to increase in injuries such as concussions, Tommy John surgeries, meniscus, stress factors, and spine. Injuries that we should be seeing later on in life. Kids are being medicated for mental health conditions because of anxiety and depression because they are not able to perform in their sport for their age!! The pressure is so huge. What can we do to prevent some of these injuries from occurring: Rethink- what we are doing is not ideal Food first- nourishment Childhood and Freeplay is training Explore other sports- Even if you Suck! Recovery- SLEEP is key So You Know He’s Legit: With Master Degrees in Health and Exercise Science from Furman University, Dr. Tommy John brings over 17 years of health experience to the table. At the completion of his studies, Dr. Tommy played professional baseball for three years with teams such as the Schaumburg Flyers, Tyler Roughnecks and the LA Dodgers. After his career was abruptly ended from a rare infection in his throwing shoulder, Dr. Tommy developed his own baseball performance company providing over 11,000 baseball training sessions for baseball enthusiasts from ages six to thirty. Additionally, he expanded his practice of personal training, sports performance training, and rehabilitation of all types of soft tissue injuries. Rebuild. Replenish. Concussions are up 500%, ACL surgeries have increases 60% over the last 20 years in 6-18 year olds and are a public health issue, and Tommy John Surgeries are occurring 57% of the time in 15-19 year olds. The book covers all sports and discusses the specialization of sports, what’s happening to our kids today, and how they can correct the mistakes being done so they can grow up healthier. Not just from a physical standpoint, but from a nutritional and emotional standpoint as well. It’s about approaching the game the right way, no matter what game, sport, or activity a young athlete participates in. Dr. John’s book is a fusion of thousands of hours of research, clinical experience, and personal experimentation he has used with kids and clients alike for years, merged with the same simple philosophy of healing his Dad used 40 years ago. But his book isn’t just about injury avoidance—and it’s more than just sports. It’s about correcting the developmental deficiencies that are happening right now in youth athletes. It’s a return to traditional methods and techniques—through making the right diet, exercise and lifestyle choices—to reestablish the functional movements lost today. It’s not just about saving an elbow—it’s about saving a life. And it’s about finally attaching the name Tommy John to something positive again. Dr. Tommy John’s name used to be associated to a legendary pitcher, and now, it’s connected to a crisis. Soon, the next time someone says the name “Tommy John,” they won’t just think about injury. They will remember his Dad…and hopefully the son that showed them a set of principles that not only saved their own child’s arm, but allowed them to reach their greatest potential in life.

Meditate:  Meditation has been shown to increase IQ and decrease stress.  Meditate 10 minutes a day. No excuses. (If you’ve never meditated before and are too afraid at this point to ask how to do it, the answer is simple to give, but difficult to do. To meditate means to clear your brain. Basically, think about nothing. If you’ve never tried it, you may be surprised at what a challenge such a simple seeming task can be. Stay in the struggle and do it. One tip is to little envision chasing your thoughts away to leave your brain clear.) 2. Listen to music or better yet learn to play music. 3. Exercise:  Walk. Bike. Swim. Exercise increases oxygen. Your brain loves oxygen. 4. Change your environment:  Look for ways to struggle. Take a different route to work. If you usually go left, go right. Do something different. Change your routine. 5.
