Join America's Roundtable Radio co-hosts Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy in a conversation with Ambassador Carla Sands. In 2017, President Trump called on Carla Sands to represent the United States as the Ambassador to Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands (2017-2021). During her tenure, Denmark increased its defense spending, while U.S. exports to the Kingdom of Denmark rose over 43%, resulting in the creation of additional jobs in America. Carla Sands also played a leading role in the business sector when she became the first woman to serve as Chairman & CEO of Vintage Capital Group. The discussion on America's Roundtable focused on the recent economic policies coming from Washington, DC, the future of America's energy security, growing concerns of an emboldened China and rising tensions in the Indo-Pacific region, an update on Israel's efforts to root out terrorist networks in Gaza and the West Bank, also known as Judea and Samaria, and a review of President Joe Biden's visit to the Middle East. The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 claims it will help bring down inflation. However, taxpayers funds amounting to $369 billion will be spent on climate change programs over the next ten years. According to the Penn Wharton Budget Model (PWBM), there's low confidence that the legislation will have any impact on inflation. PWBM is a nonpartisan, research-based organization at the University of Pennsylvania that creates economic analysis of public policy's fiscal impact. There is also concern about the proposed legislation which would invest $80 billion in the nation's tax agency over the next 10 years. U.S. Senator Rick Scott issued this following statement: “Are Democrats doing anything to support border patrol as President Biden's massive border crisis rages on? No. Instead, they want to supersize the IRS and add 87,000 more agents to hunt down and audit even more families and small businesses. It's a disgusting misuse of taxpayer money and the last thing American families want as drugs flood their communities and they continue to feel the crushing pain of inflation and rising prices.” Ambassador Carla Sands As US Ambassador to Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands, Carla Sands proposed and helped establish the U.S. Consulate in Nuuk, Greenland, and assisted with resolving the Thule Base Maintenance Contract dispute. She facilitated partnership agreements between the United States and the people of Greenland and the people of the Faroe Islands and expanded the United States mission in the Kingdom of Denmark to include the United States Coast Guard. In January 2021, Carla received the Department of Defense's highest civilian honor, the Medal for Distinguished Public Service, for her work to increase security in the high north while countering Russia and China. Carla Sands studied biology and chemistry at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Elizabethtown College before receiving her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life Chiropractic College. Carla Sands went on to follow in her father and grandfather's footsteps, being the third generation in her family to practice chiropractic in Pennsylvania. In 1999, Carla married the love of her life, Fred Sands. After Fred's passing in 2015, Carla stepped in to lead his company and became the first woman to serve as Chairman & CEO of Vintage Capital Group. https://ileaderssummit.org/services/americas-roundtable-radio/ https://ileaderssummit.org/ | https://jerusalemleaderssummit.com/ America's Roundtable on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/americas-roundtable/id1518878472 Twitter: @CarlaHSands @ileaderssummit @NatashaSrdoc @JoelAnandUSA @supertalk America's Roundtable is co-hosted by Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy, co-founders of International Leaders Summit and the Jerusalem Leaders Summit. In this week's episode, I sit down with Dr. Martin Rosen and Dr. Nancy Watson to chat about holistic health and the numerous benefits of pediatric chiropractic care. A blurb from Dr. Marty + Nancy: The challenge for the next generation of parents is becoming evident during this unique time. Children, in many ways, are more challenged than ever. Their ability to adapt and thrive is being tested. We must step up, not shy away from the challenge. Recently the CDC has lowered the bar for developmental milestones in children. They have decided to incorporate what is now becoming “common” to “normal”. Lowering the bar on childhood development does not favor anyone, on the contrary it is detrimental to current and future generations. It is time that we looked at the causes of these declining values and efficient, effective, and permanent ways to deal with them. Acceptance of these facts as normal is an unacceptable paradigm. Drs. Rosen and Watson are 1981 summa cum laude graduates of Life Chiropractic College. Over the past 4 decades they have taught pediatrics, craniopathy, primary healthcare management, practice management and chiropractic philosophy nationally and internationally to thousands of chiropractors, chiropractic students, healthcare providers and on public forums. While lecturing and teaching to chiropractors and the public they have compiled thousands of hours of presentations on chiropractic technique, safety, efficacy, research and evidence-based protocols. Their unique approach to chiropractic and the care of the pediatric population is evidenced in their published books, seminars and professional articles. They are the founders of “Peak Potential Institute”, offering one of a kind online and hands-on courses for the chiropractic profession. Teaching their first seminar in 1979 the doctors have dedicated their lives to both excellence in patient care and an unrelenting commitment to improve the technical excellence in the chiropractic profession. With 80 years of combined clinical and teaching experience in chiropractic art and science, pediatric care, TMJ, women's health issues, practice management, chiropractic philosophy and numerous other topics, they have compiled an impressive array of educational programs, books and research articles. In this episode, we sit down with Dr. Martin Rosen, a leading expert in the world of pediatrics. Common versus normal is a huge topic regarding the development of children and why milestones like crawling, sitting and others are of vital importance for the development of your child's brain and nervous system. Many pediatricians are missing the mark because of a lack of skillset knowing the vital importance and proper treatment for children's nervous systems. In this episode we discuss how the first two years of life in a child are the most important, proper milestones that should develop, reasons for failing to meet them, and tools to help regulate them. Developmental milestones have changes for the first time in 20 years, specifically the timeframe that a child should meet them. Why did they do that? The answer isn't what you might think it is. In this episode, Dr. Martin Rosen and I discuss the importance of developmental milestones for your baby (what they are, when they should hit them, what it means if they're not reaching one). We also discuss some of the reasons why the CDC recently changed the timing of them and the negative effects this may have on our children's growth and development. Also, in 2013, following a dream to volunteer and serve more children, Dr. Rudin flew to Ethiopia on a mission trip to provide chiropractic care to over 300 children and their mothers at Fresh and Green Academy, an impoverished school in Addis Ababa. Dr. Rudin's ongoing commitment to chiropractic and her desire for community and connection inspired her to create a professional women's group for chiropractors in 2007. The thriving women's group provides ongoing support for chiropractors and Dr. Rudin continues to facilitate and nurture its growth. At age 24, Dr. Simon Dove never thought his life's direction would take such a drastic turn. An aspiring artist, he traveled to Padova, Italy to sell his art and live with his uncle, a chiropractor practicing Network Spinal Analysis™ (NSA). It was in Italy that Simon received his first training and was turned around professionally, emotionally, and spiritually. The deeper into NSA care he delved, the more he realized he was exactly where he was supposed to be. He then embarked on a career as an NSA Chiropractor. Soon after returning from Italy, Simon entered Atlanta's Life Chiropractic College (now Life University) in 1992. His NSA experience further developed in conjunction with his enrollment at the school. He received regular training and an informal education with a local network doctor. Since then, has been fired up about the principles. In 1994, he attended his first Transformational Gate, a two-day seminar dedicated to intensive NSA chiropractic care. That same year, he began his training at a basic-level intensive seminar with Dr. Donald Epstein, founder of NSA. Upon graduation from Life in 1997, Dr. Dove had completed both Intermediate and Advanced Intensive Seminars, as well as four Trans-formational Gates. Child development is something every parent is concerned about - we all want our children to be the best! As with many health-related issues, we often wait until something is wrong before seeking help. When we wait until school age tests to be certain how our child is developing, it's often past the critical period to be able to see the biggest change to their brain function. In this episode, I talk to Dr Marty Rosen who teaches internationally on the topic of how skull movement affects brain development in babies and children. Often babies have small but noticeable asymmetries in their skulls, which can alter the way the child's brain develops. This is sometimes due to a traumatic delivery, like forceps pressure, sometimes due to sleeping positions, but often the baby's positioning inside Mum's tummy has a big effect too. As a baby's brain begins to develop before he/she is born, by the time of birth, the foundations are in place for this growth and development to continue through infancy. A whopping 80-90% of brain growth occurs within those first two years, so this is a really important episode for all parents to listen to. One of the biggest things I hope to do with this podcast is to encourage change before things "go wrong", and Marty is absolutely on the ball with that message too. But be warned, Marty is an absolute wealth of knowledge, and he talks fast.... really fast! So you may have to rewind back a few times, but I promise you, it's worth it. What this man doesn't know, is not worth knowing. About Marty Rosen Martin G. Rosen, DC, is a 1981 graduate of Life Chiropractic College. He lives and practices with his wife Nancy Watson, D.C and his daughter Erin Rosen, D.C. in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Dr. Rosen taught his first chiropractic seminar in 1979 and has traveled the world teaching SOT®, pediatrics, cranial adjusting, practice management and chiropractic philosophy and neurology ever since. For over 33 years, he has been at the forefront of chiropractic pediatric and specifically pediatric craniopathy. He has written multiple books and research studies as well as run a successful family chiropractic practice. Dr. Rosen has dedicated his life and inspired thousands of others in the pursuit of excellence in the application in the art and science of chiropractic. His "Pediatric Chiropractic Care" book is a "must have" book for those chiropractors looking to become experts in the care of children. He is widely active on social media, and you can find him on Facebook in many forms: his personal page, his office, his paediatric page and he's also on twitter. In this episode, we discuss: How a baby’s brain begins to develop before he/she has even been born The formation of synapses (connections) between different parts of the brain begins in utero! Foundations are needed to build the basis for the baby to grow on, and reach developmental milestones At birth we have almost all the raw materials to develop upon 80-90% of brain growth occurs in the first 2 years The survival part of the brain (cerebellum) grows 240% in the first year of life Social developmental milestones are reached as a result of the nervous system growth Psychologists describe the first 2 years as the period for most dynamic growth Why it’s so important to identify children at risk of neuro-developmental delay within the first year A lot of the issues we are seeing in children at school age actually occurred within the first year of life The health of our future generations is declining due to the onslaught of environmental insults Children need a nervous system that is able to deal with the insults in order to develop appropriately, which is the aim of the chiropractic paradigm Environmental insults can be physical (falls, bumps to the head, junior sports), chemical (air & water pollution, electromagnetic fields from mobile phones and iPads, food), emotional (lack of bonding) & sometimes spiritual The nervous system usually adapts, but sometimes compensates The three parts of the nervous system and what they control within the body: central, peripheral and autonomic How a stretched spinal cord (from forward postures such as children playing on iPads, or even from a straightforward birth) affects the developing brain and body, as a result of changing the tone of the nervous system Compensatory patterns - what they are and how we get them - if we have too many things to compensate for, then we can’t develop as well or as quickly as intended How nerves from the upper neck feed directly into the brain, and while glitches may not show up immediately, as different areas of the brain begin to develop, differences are noticed How an overloaded nervous system can begin to balance once subluxations are corrected Different children with different personalities will show their inability to adapt in different ways, but it all comes down to the same thing - an overwhelmed nervous system How the skull is designed to allow the brain to grow, but with altered movement in the skull bones, the whole system down to the coccyx is affected - this changes the speed of nerve reaction times Slower nerve reaction times may result in slower learning The younger you are, the better the ability to adapt Symptoms aren’t a good indicator of whether a child needs to be checked How birth affects the infant’s nervous system Marty’s preference is to check all babies within 7-10 days Final thought: “It is imperative to have your child’s spine and nervous system checked by a competent chiropractor as soon as possible to make sure that you give them the greatest opportunity to develop their optimum potential: neurologically, immune system, socially, emotionally & physically” Further research: Pediatric Chiropactic Care by Martin Rosen, DC www.drmartinrosen.com Journal of Vertebral Subluxation McCoy Press International Chiropactic Pediatric Association SOTO-USA SOTO-Europe
Dr. Martin Rosen is a 1981 summa cum laude graduate of Life Chiropractic College. Since 1982 he has practiced in Wellesley, Massachusetts as a family and pediatric chiropractor. Over the past 34 years Dr. Rosen has taught pediatrics, craniopathy, SOT, practice management and chiropractic philosophy nationally and internationally to thousands of chiropractors and chiropractic students. While lecturing and teaching to chiropractors and the public he has compiled thousands of hours of presentations on chiropractic technique, research and evidence based protocols. His unique approach to chiropractic and the care of the pediatric population is evidenced in his published books, DVDs and professional articles. Currently, besides his own seminar programs, he is teaching for the International Pediatric Chiropractic Association (ICPA) as part of their advanced certification program. His books include: The Pediatric Participant Guide for SOT®, The Pediatric SOT® Spinal Adjusting Manual, The SOT® Pediatric Cranial Adjusting Manual, has written a chapter on pediatric adjusting entitled, Sacro Occipital Technique®, in the 2nd Edition of "Chiropractic Pediatrics", and his new book "Pediatric Chiropractic Care" was released in March 2015. His educational DVDs are designed to assist the practitioner in learning beginning, intermediate and advanced spinal, cranial and soft tissue chiropractic adjusting techniques. Show Notes Marty Rosen discusses his road into chiropractic. Marketing before internet: feet on the ground, speaking, lectures, spinal screenings, etc. Confrontational tolerance- practicing being comfortable with being uncomfortable. On teaching students: Art should be the heaviest in Art, Philosophy, and Science. Being able to commit to your technique. Dedication is key. Building a family practice: expect to see the children of any family, be excellent at doing your adjusting and you will get the referrals. Patient retention: running practice by using statistics. Your educational process or your results may not be up to par if your stats are not looking good. Objectify your goals, take periodic looks at the practice and re-evaluate yourself. During an ROF: determine how engaged the patient is and modify yourself to that. The more time you spend explaining what chiropractic is, the less time they will spend in the practice. Learn to be aware of your audience. Adjusting on the first vs second visit: It’s impossible to find a subluxation pattern in one visit; You lose the ability to educate; You may be adjusting a compensation instead of a subluxation. Internal marketing: newsletters, social media, referrals, website. Insurance companies mainly cover acute care. New doc: you have to be willing to put more time into building your practice. Set goals. Use your strengths and focus on that. Look to yourself first to change your practice. Seasoned docs: you can’t ever stop pushing the “boulder,” learn new skills, interact with like-minded chiropractors, change your communication to your patients. Lesson learned: maintain balance in life. Learn to process your mistakes and forgive yourself. Daily habits: Meditating, exercise, vodka? Book: The Philosophy, Art, and Science of Sacroocipital Technic by Major Dejarnette Best business advice: Keep your overhead low, keep your expectations rational, and work really really hard. There will always be someone bigger than you, faster than you, smarter than you, etc. Just do your best and feeling goo about your choices. Stop comparing yourself with other people. This is a special bonus podcast episode with the guy you get to meet and hang out with if you come to Two years ago, I reported on my experience at the brutal SEALFit Kokoro camp, a 60+ hour crucible you can read more about at "" In that article, I mention a guy named "Lance Cummings". Coach Lance's snarling face struck fear deep into the heart of every Kokoro participant in my class, and he is well known for being the man who dishes out extreme amounts of suffering and hardship for anybody brave enough to step into Kokoro. But there's much more to coach Lance Cummings than simply being a man who could kill you with his pinky finger. Technically, Lance is director of training at . Before that, retired from Active Duty Navy Service with 30 years of combined Active and Reserve service. After graduating BUD/s Class 124 he deployed overseas in support of US Foreign Policy with six different SEAL teams on both the east and west coast. He served at the Naval Special Warfare Center as a Basic Underwater/SEAL (BUD/s) instructor where he earned his Master Training Specialist classification. He also worked several State Department Security Team contracts with private employers during his time in the Naval Reserves. He left Active Duty in 1995 to pursue a Doctorate of Chiropractic degree, graduating in 2000 from Life Chiropractic College in Atlanta. While running a Chiropractic practice in Ga. and continuing to serve in the SEAL Reserves, he was recalled to Active Duty in January 2002 to deploy to the Middle East in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. He made 7 subsequent Middle East deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq with three different SEAL Teams as well as contracting with Blackwater Security. As the Training Officer at Naval Special Warfare Group 1, in charge of West Coast SEAL Team operational training and readiness, he helped establish the Human Performance Initiative, a tactical readiness assessment and evaluation testing system utilized by every SEAL team today. Since retiring from the Navy in 2011, Lance has coached at SEALFIT Integrative Training, where he, Mark Divine, and numerous SEALs and selected civilian coaches conduct multi-day Academies, 20X, Kokoro Camps and custom team events, both locally and internationally. His athletic accomplishments include hundreds of triathlons, multi-day adventure races (he once paddled from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean through the Panama Canal in 15 hours), endurance horse racing, and he has been a member of World Championship Teams in Military Pentathlon, Naval Pentathlon, Outrigger Canoe and Dragon Boat racing. He has won several Marksmanship awards in inter-service competition in both handgun and carbine categories, and also competes in Stand Up Paddle Board Racing, archery and mountain biking. He continues his passion for Chiropractic, both with people and animal patients. He is certified in Cold Laser Therapy, Functional Mobility, Thermal Imaging, and is a registered Emergency Medical Technician. His wife is a practicing Emergency Physician, and he also has nine year old twins. His certifications and experiences include: Honor Graduate, US Army Master Fitness Trainer Academy SEAL Team Training Officer Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician NAUI Scuba Instructor US Navy Master Training Specialist Certified Veterinary Chiropractitioner Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Doctorate in Chiropractic, Life University, Marietta GA BS Education, Southern Illinois University American College of Sports Medicine Fitness Instructor TRX Suspension Training Level 1, 2 and Sports Rehabilitation Trainer Functional Movement Systems (FMS) Level II Certified Structural Functional Movement Assessment Certified US Military Pentathlon Athlete US Navy Pentathlon Athlete USA Mens Dragon Boat Team 2011, 2013, 2015 – Team physician and competitor Outrigger Canoe USA/World Championship Teams So the guy is a wealth of knowledge on not just survival and warfare, but also fitness, taking care of aging and injured bodies, pushing through pain and much more. During our discussion, you’ll discover: -What it feels like for Lance to be "the man" who strikes fear in the heart of all Kokoro participants... -When Lance decided he wanted to be a SEAL... -Whether Lance thinks he is simply "hardwired" differently from a genetics standpoint, or whether something happened during his childhood that made him a high achiever... -Why Lance got into pentathlon (and this penthathlon video)... -Lance's story of paddling from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean through the Panama Canal in 15 hours... -As one of the "fittest old dudes" I know, what Lance's fitness program look like... -How Lance pushes through pain... -The top tools Lance uses as a chiropractor - tools people know little about, but should when it comes to enhancing recovery or managing injuries... -What to expect at a SEALFit 20x event, and what can people expect at the Eastern Washington event at my house... -And much more! Who is the woman behind www.drtania.com? A native of New Jersey, Dr. Tania Howard Pritz decided to become a chiropractor at the age of 15, when she experienced a complete metamorphosis in her health after seeking chiropractic care for an injury. She completed her undergraduate work at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, and her doctorate at Life Chiropractic College in Atlanta, Georgia in 1991. Dr. Tania first practiced in Charleston, SC, and later in Maryland, where she practiced for nearly 20 before she took her show ‘on the road' with her saucy lifestyle blog. She's been profiled in Washington Post Magazine and other trade and regional publications. She lives in Annapolis with her three true loves, her husband Braden and daughters Francesca and Julia.
Dr. Robert Champagne was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He graduated summa cum laude from Life Chiropractic College, Atlanta, Georgia in 1980. He then returned home to Winnipeg where he opened his first chiropractic office. For eighteen years, he ran one of the busiest family-oriented chiropractic practices in Manitoba. Dr. Robert has had many opportunities to speak about chiropractic and CFTWF. Some of the venues include Epoc groups, Dynamic Essential (DE), Alberta, BC and Manitoba provincial associations, Edmonton Chiropractic Society and Pure and Powerful Seminar.
Many diseases adversely affect our brain health later in life such as Alzheimer's, dementia and Parkinsons. Perhaps we can help by maintaining good oxygen levels and doing activites which activate our brain daily, like computer games, sports, meditation, conversations, team board games, reading, writing, exercises. Dr. David Barczyk, D.C. addresses 5 activities which may help save you and loved ones from future brain diseases which are aggravated by inactivity. 1. Meditate: Meditation has been shown to increase IQ and decrease stress. Meditate 10 minutes a day. No excuses. (If you’ve never meditated before and are too afraid at this point to ask how to do it, the answer is simple to give, but difficult to do. To meditate means to clear your brain. Basically, think about nothing. If you’ve never tried it, you may be surprised at what a challenge such a simple seeming task can be. Stay in the struggle and do it. One tip is to little envision chasing your thoughts away to leave your brain clear.) 2. Listen to music or better yet learn to play music. 3. Exercise: Walk. Bike. Swim. Exercise increases oxygen. Your brain loves oxygen. 4. Change your environment: Look for ways to struggle. Take a different route to work. If you usually go left, go right. Do something different. Change your routine. 5. Think positive DAVID J. BARCZYK, D.C. is the Chief Executive Officer of ALL !N Wellness. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in 1994 from Life Chiropractic College in Georgia and has a robust chiropractic practice that includes four locations across Southern Louisiana.
