In this episode we give focus to our drive, in our work. Our work is a primary, if not the primary focus of our lives, at least from a daily time and energy devotion. The message here is in relation to the interviewing process, but as you'll hear, so much of it relates to our lives overall. In any relationship and opportunity there is an aspect of selling yourself and often a struggle between being yourself and feeling you are performing. I was recently introduced to Anna Papalia who is one of our leading authorities on the new science of interviewing. Now, I've been a lifetime entrepreneur who has never technically interviewed for a traditional job, but as I read Anna's research I was made acutely aware that as an entrepreneur I spend a lot of my time interviewing for opportunities. Selling myself. And to that degree, we all are. Which is why I wanted to bring this conversation to you. Anna's research is now culminated in her new book, “Interviewology” where it categorizes all of us in four interview styles - The Charmer, the Challenger, the Examiner, and the Harmonizer. The three keys we discuss are, 1) understand your own style, 2) understand how to fully embrace your style in interviews and be completely authentic when you're selling yourself, and 3) understand the other styles so you can tap into them when you are being interviewed, or you are interviewing, so you can better connect with the other person and vastly increase your chances of success. And success may mean helping you realize the job or person is a completely bad fit, which is vital to know! The book again is Interviewology and you can go to interviewology.com to find out what your style is. By the end of this conversation however, you'll have clarity on what your style is and how to fully utilize it. The Enneagram Type 7 is known as the Multi-tasker or the Enthusiast, striving to feel excited, satisfied, and fulfilled. The Enneagram Type 9 is known as the Peacemaker or the Harmonizer, striving to feel peaceful and calm, both internally and with the world around them. They are two of the most optimistic types on the Enneagram, typically choosing to avoid hard feelings and difficult conversations, but for different reasons. Both of these types tend to embellish reality more than the other types, perceiving things better than they really are. But, with those similarities, there are also key differences that you'll hear about in this episode to help you narrow it down between the two, including:the different type of optimism each type expresses how they view interruptions handling distractions their orientation to time getting their needs metIf you know of someone else that might be helped by this, please share! The Understanding People Cheat Sheet mentioned at the end can be found here: https://www.enneagrammba.com/cheatsheetDownload your quick reference Enneagram guide: https://www.enneagrammba.com/cheatsheet
This episode features discussions about AriDy Nox's and Brandon Webster's Metropolis and Mêlisa Annis and Jamie Floyd's The King's Wife. METROPOLIS (by AriDy Nox and Brandon Webster) - Metropolis is an epic tale that follows the Harmonizer-android-unit turned space-time-continuum anarchist Fari as she is wrenched across space and time. With the Apocalypse hot on her heels in the past and the future, Fari keeps finding herself at the center of world-defining moments. But will she be able to withstand the upheaval? Or will she crack under the pressure? THE KING'S WIFE (by Mêlisa Annis and Jamie Floyd) - The King's Wife is a new musical that uniquely re-tells the relationship between Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn, the first two wives of King Henry VIII of England. While historical accounts paint these women as bitter enemies, The King's Wife (using historic clues) flips the script to tell their tale differently. It's an untraditional period piece with a dark, progressive vibe, and a moving, hopeful story about female friendship and the detriment to the world when great women aren't allowed to rise. Mêlisa and Jamie were joined by their producers Jennifer Kranz and Abigail Solomon. Featuring performances from Cory Barrow, Jamie Floyd, Taylor Harris, Tyler McKenzie, Max Morter, Caleb Spainhour, Marthaluz Velez and HK Wall Co-produced and edited by Hector Flores Jr. and Pauls Macs Connect with AriDy Nox: Instagram and Twitter: @aridynox Connect with Brandon Webster: Instagram: @brandomitable Connect with Mêlisa Annis: Instagram and Twitter: @melisaannis Connect with Jamie Floyd: Instagram: @jamiefloyd Twitter: @jamiefloydmusic Connect with New York Theatre Barn: Support us: nytheatrebarn.org/give Twitter: @nytheatrebarn Instagram: @newyorktheatrebarn Facebook.com/nytheatrebarn nytheatrebarn.org Joe's personal Instagram: @bisforbarros Jen's personal Instagram: @jensandler Learn more about your ad choices. Terms like "visionary" and "renaissance" are tossed around far too indiscriminately, but in the case of Richard Factor they barely scratch the surface. He welcomed us into his home in Sedona and held forth on the company's early days, myriad inventions, and a peek into what makes him tick.

Because of COVID, we have not been able to interview a couple for several months. How delighted we were to have a couple join us once again on our show. In this interview, we meet Elisabeth Korsmeier and Joe McCormick whose journeys brought them to each other despite their differences, both culturally and otherwise. Their vibrant faith and involvement in the Catholic church is the foundation upon which their union is built. Enjoy the show, and please have yourselves a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Be born in us, O Lord.
In this episode of Uncommon Sense in Local Business, host Susan Hamilton and co-host Deanna Blair, health marketing expert, discuss Deanna’s personal Strengths Finder outcomes and how that impacts her business. Clifton Strengths Finder is an assessment tool that allows one to know what their greatest strengths are and why one thinks, acts, or behaves in certain ways. When looking at the past 6 months with the Covid crisis and the economy, Susan and Deanna talk about what was learned. Deanna admits she learned a lot this summer. They discuss that you must be able to picture your future and you can only get out what you put in. It is important to underpromise and overdeliver when working to get the consumer market interested again. If you can’t see how you want it to be, it’s hard to plan. Sometimes it is helpful to mind map how things fit together and to help determine where you want to be in your business. Deanna’s number one strength was input. Deanna says she loves to learn. Harmonizer is her second strength. From there, she is a maximizer, relater, and arranger. Knowing these strengths is highly important because it helps us know how best to grow our businesses or possibly start another one. Maybe it’s time to take a different path. That is how Strengths Finder assists in determining our paths. As Susan notes, it is important to understand what each of these strengths mean and how they work together so that we can relate better. Harmony must be seen in the different things Deanna has learned and relating to those things in the current range of normalcy. Steven and his son Evan believe that they have rediscovered a hidden history. Steven speaks about the ascension, what the Aboriginal Elders think is happening and what we need to do to prepare. Time is running out folks. 2020 is the year of major changes and Steven confirms what many have been speaking about for hundreds of years. He also tells us about his amazing collection of magical rings, specifically the Ring of Atlantis. De Belizal was a practitioner of radiesthesia, the study of vibrational fields within the human body, which allowed the access of information from animate or inanimate objects. In the mid-1960s, De Belizal conducted vibration tests on the ring using specially calibrated instruments to decode the resonant energy vibrating from the Atlantis ring. De Belizal’s results discovered that the ring’s geometric shapes created a faint energy forcefield consisting of minute energy vibrations. This effectiveness corresponded to the correct placement and application of the Luxor symbol. The ring's electromagnetic waves prevented the alteration of its energy signature. This energy acted as a forcefield to whoever wore it. It allegedly was able to increase an individual's ability to access their subconscious mind . With his findings, De Belizal keyed the term "Waveform of Luxor" - which had to do with studying the geometry of the ring. He then proceeded to create a larger and flatter version known as the "Harmonizer of Luxor" in order to see if similar principals could be used to protect more massive places such as a home or office. He discovered that when the shapes were flattened, the contraption was able to maintain properties for compensation and balance of the cosmo-telluric energies in a consistent area. De Belizal also alleged that the Atlantis ring and bar were based on the authentic waveforms found in Egyptian sarcophagi to create a protection zone, to shield against the rupture from certain Cosmo-telluric forces, or negative energies brought forth from men holding bad intentions.Pleadian skulls and other items he has found on his digs that people are desperate to take off his hands and have tried to kill him to get to them. His story is incredible and you won't be able to get this kind of information anywhere else. He isn't afraid to discuss the things everyone else is afraid to talk about. Steven and his son Even have written five books "Constructing a New World Map", "Mary Magdalene's Dreaming", "Forgotten Origin", "Ancient Aliens in Australia" (co-written with Daniella Cardenas and Bruce Fenton) and "Shunned" that rewrite the history of Australia and the world. Steven Strong is a secondary school teacher with a background in Archaeology and Education. He was involved in the formation of a Graduate Diploma of Aboriginal Education for the N.S.W. Department of Education, writing units on Traditional Law and Contemporary History. He also co-authored the highly successful "Aboriginal Australia: A Language and Cultural kit". Gary Greenfield is... ...my father... ...a leading expert in the field of water filtration... ...and a deep well of knowledge I've relied upon for the past 37 years of my life. He's also, obviously, responsible for my very existence. During this episode, you're going to discover more about the man who made me who I am, along with how structured water works, the best way to filter your water, why you should quit caring so much about what other people think about your health habits, and much, much more. During our discussion, you'll discover: -Gary's early life and childhood [7:45] Started in Miami Father and uncle were successful entrepreneurs in the motivational speaking industry His father invested time in his children Athletic, but no interest in competitive sports Brother was killed in gang fight at age 17 (turning point for him) Began oceanography studies and excelled at it 3 years after brother's death, moved to Idaho for a fresh start (age 20) -How Gary "found God" shortly before moving to Idaho [18:00] Was intrigued by the phrase "God's country" on a brochure for Idaho Went to spirituality conventions; left feeling empty at each booth "We yearn for God because God created us" Met a community of Christians his age once moving to Idaho Became volunteer fireman in Moscow, ID Became full-time fireman in Lewiston, ID (where Ben was born) Ben shows similarities in physical genetics between him and his father -The transition from full-time fireman to entrepreneur [26:35] Three words: Efficiency, effectiveness, economy (didn't see this working for the local government) Began ambulance service (non-emergency transport) and it grew fairly rapidly Ran into resistance and opposition when he tried to expand into emergency services Vast majority of funding came from medicaid and medicare (more bureaucracy) After growing tired of dealing with government bureaucracy, Gary founded a coffee shop -The business Gary founded after leaving his successful medical transport business [38:40] He and his wife had discussed having a coffee shop as a hobby Enlisted his children to help out with running the business Ran the coffee shop 1997-2007 Was the first exposure to the nutrition/water filtration world (but still on standard American diet) -How Gary became interested in nutrition [50:15] In 2005, met a girl who's mom was cured of cancer on raw food diet (watershed moment) Book: by Loren Cordain Raw food, general nutrition, essential oils, oregano -How God's love is manifested through water [55:40] Discovered the story of a man who used EMF to cure his daughter of an incurable disease Native vs. non-native EMF My interview with My interview with Dr. Thomas Cowan on and Energetic vs. physical actions Book: by Robert Becker Water "stores" energy and releases it onto plants, animals, people, etc. The body is a battery: If you want to be healthy, sunlight, minerals, water, grounding, exposure to proper frequencies of energy are the keys to health Want to develop water that can store as much energy as possible Three things energy in the water does: clean, feed, protect Structured water affects chlorinated water positively Water that goes through a filter is already dead Harmonizer cartridge: Native EMF stick Biblical account of creation: Begins with hydrogen Then God creates light It all comes back to love, creation Structured water is the most natural state in which we can find water -The parable of the people of the wood [1:27:45] -And much more! In this episode, we insult a whole nation. We're sorry, we really are. All we wanted to do was talk about the first entry in David Bowie's Berlin Trilogy, Low. Victoria Canal is with us on today's show. She is currently on tour with Michael Franti. Victoria was born in without her right forearm due to amniotic band syndrome. Noone or nothing can stop Victoria. Her sheer will and determination will prove that her musical talent as a songwriter, singer and keyboardist will carry her to the top and stay there for years to come. Victoria has lived all around the world, including Dubai, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Amsterdam. She's a mix of Cuban and American descent but refers to herself as Spanish-American because Spain is where she was raised most of her life. She began playing piano as early as 6 years old and now, at 20 she's a force to be reckoned with. She's been on tour with Michael Franti and was generous to give us a live interview. So we're on the bus chatting it up. I just love what she says about life: "In life what I found to be crucial is to have direction and it doesn't matter how many times you change direction just as long as you're not floating. So if you know you're going somewhere and if you don't know where you're going, you're not going to go anywhere at all, but if you decide where to go, even if it takes you unexpected ways and you end up somewhere else, at least you went somewhere!" Today Victoria discusses: How she started taking piano lessons at age 6 with her grandma. How she has lived in over 100 places around the globe. How she decided to go to school online rather than a brick and mortar school. Manifestation and the reality of it. Her method of writing her songs and music. And so much more, so get your headphones out and check out Victoria Canal's interview. Here's a bit of footage from her live show at the Jannus Live: Victoria Live in Action Want to play keyboards? How you complete the year directly impacts how you feel and start the coming year. So how do you want to FEEL when you wake up in the new year? So that you can start the new year ready, at a full tank, clear and strong on the inside? It will help you say no to the invitations and to do's that don't really matter. Say no to OVER consuming and connecting. And say YES to those things that really do replenish you. Tune into this Feminine Power Time: Get clear about how you desire to FEEL come the new year so you can make your choices now in a way that aligns Learn the Holiday Harmonizing Practice - and how it works to keep you clear and strong physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
