In this enlightening conversation with Lena Morgan, author of Fight Languages: Turn Conflict into Connection, listeners will discover a groundbreaking way to understand and navigate conflict—whether at home, at work, or within themselves. Lena breaks down her powerful framework of the Five Fight Languages—Amplifier, Analyzer, Extinguisher, Igniter, and Negotiator—and explains why people clash, misunderstand each other, or shut down during emotionally charged moments. She reveals how identifying your own conflict style (and the style of those around you) creates instant empathy, clearer communication, and more meaningful connection. Listeners will learn: -Why conflict isn't something to avoid, but a doorway to deeper understanding -How to identify your primary and secondary fight languages and how they show up under stress -Why most of us fight different at home vs work—and why that matters -Somatic and practical tools to interrupt heated reactions and shift toward calm, productive dialogue -How to handle internal conflict, the “gremlin voice,” and self-critical patterns -The importance of repair, and why the moments after a fight can build the strongest trust -A new way to see conflict not as chaos—but as valuable information about what matters most This episode gives listeners actionable tools to turn arguments into understanding, create safer communication, and build relationships that can withstand stress, emotion, and misunderstanding. -When OpenAI launched its TikTok-like Sora app, a key feature was "Cameo" that allows people to add any likeness to videos they generate. Now the maker of Cameo, an app that allows you to buy short videos from celebrities, has filed a lawsuit accusing OpenAI of violating its trademark by using the same name. -Google has been forced to reassure its users that it has not suffered a large-scale data breach that could affect their Gmail accounts. A few months ago the company released an unusual statement intended to put to bed allegations that its email service had been hit with a serious security issue. And it did so again this week, after numerous news outlets published stories suggesting that 183 million passwords may have been compromised in a new breach. -It's been nearly three years since Withings first showed off U-Scan to a bemused world, and now it's finally on sale. U-Scan is the company's at-home urinalysis gizmo which sits in your toilet bowl and tests your first splash of the day. The Science of Yes: 7 Decision Profiles That Lift Donor Response

The Nonprofit Show

Play Episode Listen Later Oct 29, 2025 30:10

Nonprofits send more messages than ever, yet many still miss the moment that matters: the decision. The CEO and Co-Founder Kylee Ingram of Wizer Technologies explains how seven decision profiles can transform fundraising emails, stewardship notes, and board communications from “nice” to effective.  If donor retention, board alignment, and major-gift outreach are priorities this year, this episode gives you the evidence-based path to communicate the way your audience actually decides.Built from research originally advanced by Juliette Bourke (author of Which Two Heads Are Better Than One?), Wizer's framework maps the way people actually choose—across seven profiles: Achiever, Analyzer, Collaborator, Visionary, Explorer, Guardian, and Deliverer. As Kylee puts it, “What we've created is a program called Wize Snaps… it will look at your comms and then live replicate and tell you what's right and wrong about it—then generate a new email based on that person's decision profile.” The fix isn't creepy personalization (“How's your dog?”). Its decision-relevant signals and templates tuned to how people weigh evidence, risk, outcomes, process, and options. Inside organizations, keeping cognitive diversity matters, too; when teams mirror top leadership styles, innovation drops, and decision errors rise!Kylee also speaks to what's in the playbook for 2026: AI can shorten drafting time, but message-market fit still wins. “AI helps people write better… It's not helping you write the right message necessarily,” Kylee says. Her counsel: slow down, identify the decision profile, and then scale. Use visuals and A/B testing with intent: for some profiles, a results graph will outperform a cute animal photo; for others, a clear process step-down or risk-mitigation note unlocks action. Start inside your nonprofit—board and staff—so your culture and donor experience align. Wizer offers free full decision profiles for teams and boards, plus Wize Snaps to assess copy and suggest rewrites.#TheNonprofitShow #NonprofitMarketing #FundraisingStrategyFind us Live daily on YouTube!Find us Live daily on LinkedIn!Find us Live daily on X: @Nonprofit_ShowOur national co-hosts and amazing guests discuss management, money and missions of nonprofits! 12:30pm ET 11:30am CT 10:30am MT 9:30am PTSend us your ideas for Show Guests or Topics: HelpDesk@AmericanNonprofitAcademy.comVisit us on the web:The Nonprofit Show

This week's edition of Overdrive Radio takes a deeper dive into Overdrive's relatively new Load Profit Analyzer tool: https://overdriveonline.com/load-analyzer Go there and pull up the analyzer to follow along with this detailed walk-through with owner-operator business coach and longtime Overdrive contributor Gary Buchs. As regular readers will likely recall from when it was introduced late in 2024, the Analyzer was in part inspired by Buchs' own efforts at individual load profit analysis, tracing back to his decades as owner-operator himself. (Gary retired from the road in 2019, yet continues private efforts as a mentor/business coach to other owner-operators.) I brought Gary on to talk us through a few divergent load examples in hopes that more owner-operators in the audience might benefit from what is in essence a fairly simple calculator, but might also be a powerful personal accountability tool for business performance long-term. So, with this episode, get to a spot where you can pull out the mobile device or laptop and go to https://OverdriveOnline.com/load-analyzer We'll run through the three cost-input fields you see there, namely: **Fixed cost per day under load **Salary per day under load and **Variable cost per mile Then analyze results for three different loads all originating in Dallas with offers at wildly different rates: $2.30, $3, and a whopping $10/mile on a short haul. When it comes to profits, though, results from the analyzer might be surprising if you closely take into consideration the impacts of time spent on each load. Set up with all those different cost metrics, considering your contribution to your home budget's needs in the salary on the expense side of the equation, fundamentally the analyzer is set up to help you do that with a close eye on business profits. There are always dozens of variables at play in load selection and post-delivery analysis, but engaging with your own numbers with the tool we hope helps yield better profit results over time, as Gary likes to say, as you "touch those numbers" routinely. Give it a whirl with today's podcast. More from Gary on the topic of negotiations in this past Overdrive Radio edition: https://www.overdriveonline.com/15736582

The key to lasting love is more than just chemistry, it's really knowing how you (and your partner) handle conflict. It's communication, emotional intelligence and how you handle stress that builds a lasting connection and relationship  In Episode 394 of The Charisma Quotient, "Stop Dating the Wrong People: Decode Your Conflict Style with Dr. John Elliot,” Kimmy is joined by Dr. John Elliot, an acclaimed psychologist, conflict resolution expert, and co-author of "How to Get Along With Anyone." With a career spanning consulting for NASA, the US Olympic Committee, the Mayo Clinic, Fortune 500 companies, and appearances in outlets like The New York Times and ESPN, Dr. Elliot is uniquely equipped to reveal why true relationship success depends on how you both show up when the going gets tough—not just when it's smooth sailing. Together, Kimmy and Dr. Elliot break down the five conflict personality styles—the Avoider, Competitor, Analyzer, Collaborator, and Accommodator—explaining the habits, triggers, and communication patterns that come out when tension rises. You'll hear actionable advice on how to identify your own (and others') conflict styles, why some personality pairings struggle while others thrive, and how to turn moments of tension into lasting intimacy instead of drama or distance. They discuss why your "must-have list" should go beyond looks or job titles, and how picking up on someone's conflict style early can save you heartache down the road.  You'll hear: The “five conflict personality styles”—discover if you're an Avoider, Competitor, Analyzer, Collaborator, or Accommodator (and why it matters so much!)  How mismatched conflict styles sabotage romantic chemistry—and what style pairings work best for long-term happiness Real stories from pro sports, high-stakes business, and dating that illustrate these personality clashes and how they're resolved Simple, practical tools and mindset shifts to help you attract, connect with, and keep truly compatible partners If you've ever felt stuck repeating the same painful patterns, or want to break free from being an overgiver, people-pleaser, or the “nice guy,” book a FREE private breakthrough call with Kimmy:  https://meetme.so/kimbreakthrough⁣ Charisma Quotient Podcast is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and many of your other favorite podcast channels. ************************************************⁣ Kimmy Seltzer is a Confidence Therapist and Authentic Dating Strategist implementing targeted style, emotional and social intelligence to your life. ⁣ ************************************************⁣ Would you like to connect with Kimmy?⁣ Website:  https://kimmyseltzer.com/⁣ Chat:  https://meetme.so/kimbreakthrough⁣ Instagram: @kimmyseltzer Twitter: @kimmyseltzer Join her FREE Facebook Group Love Makeover Insiders:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/lovemakeovers Take her Flirt Quiz to see what kind of flirt you are www.flirtover40.com
