Send us a textWelcome back to DMRWeapons is directed and written by Zach Cregger, and features a strong ensemble cast including Julia Garner, Josh Brolin, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan. The film centers on a horrifying event — one night, an entire third-grade class disappears without a trace, leaving behind only a single child. As panic spreads through the community, suspicion falls on the teacher, and a grieving father, along with other adults, begin unraveling the mystery.Critically, Weapons has been very well received. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a 93% “Tomatometer” score, reflecting broad acclaim for its atmosphere, acting, and the way it blends horror-mystery tropes. Financially, the film has been a major success: it grossed around US $268.3 million worldwide, far exceeding its modest production budget — making it one of 2025's most successful horror films.Be sure to grab your Audible 30 day free trial, link is in the show, you will help support DMR!Support the showThe audio clips used in this podcast, including excerpts from movie/series/documentary trailers, are used under the principles of fair use and fair dealing for the purpose of criticism, commentary, and review. Send us a textWelcome back to DMRThe newest installment in the Predator franchise, Predator: Badlands, breaks new ground by placing a Predator, or Yautja, as its central protagonist. The story follows Dek, a young, outcast Yautja on a quest to prove his worth to his warrior clan by hunting the seemingly unkillable apex predator of the treacherous, alien world of Genna, often called "The Death Planet." His perilous journey leads to an unlikely alliance with an advanced Weyland-Yutani Corporation android named Thia, whose own mission on the hostile planet went sideways. Together, the mismatched pair must navigate the lethal environment, evade Weyland-Yutani forces, and confront a terrifying creature that challenges everything Dek has been taught about the honor of the hunt, making for a thrilling sci-fi survival adventure. The film is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who also helmed the critically acclaimed Prey. The main cast features Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi as the Predator protagonist, Dek, and Elle Fanning in the dual role of the androids Thia and Tessa. As of the latest reports, Predator: Badlands has earned over $162 million at the global box office. Critics have embraced the fresh take, awarding it a Certified Fresh 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, while audiences have given it an even higher score of 96%.Reminder to grab your 30 day free Audible trial, link in the show; you'll be helping support DMR

Mark Duplass reprises his role as everyone's favourite creepy serial killer, now named Aaron (after his previous victim) he lures videographer and YouTuber Sara (Desiree Akhavan) to his remote cabin. When she fails to be intimidated by Aaron's behaviour and Peachfuzz mask he finds himself challenged and quite possibly in love. Creep 2 is equally a romantic comedy as much as a horror, where the fun in Creep relied mainly on jumpscares and found footage Creep 2 gets its weirdness from the interaction between Aaron and Sara. Despite critics panning Wicked For Good with a lackluster 71% Rotten Tomatoes score—far below the original’s 88%—its massive marketing blitz may still lure audiences into Oz. Behind the scenes at Dancing With the Stars, Dylan Efron reportedly urged brother Zac to avoid the audience early in the season. Meanwhile, 12-year-old North West is strutting confidently into the Kardashian spotlight, undeterred by online backlash as she launches her own rising-era persona. This week I'm bringing you two exceptional guests. With the much-anticipated nationwide release of feature film Rental Family on November 21, my first interview is with the Japanese co-writer and director Hikari! Her latest creation has already garnered a 97% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and I feel that it's one of the best films that I've seen in years. I'll go out on a limb and predict that Brendan Fraser will be nominated for Best Actor in a Lead Role, Hikari will get the nod for Best Director and/or Best Original Story, and Rental Family will be nominated for Best Picture. My main interview is with South Asian American music prodigy Neil Nayyar, who is the current world record holder for playing 130+ musical instruments from all over the globe. You'll get to know how he discovered his innate gifts and abilities, and even though he loves it, how hard he keeps working to improve his prowess on all these diverse instruments. And I doubt that you'll be surprised when he tells you about the new musical skillset he began developing during the COVID shutdown. You can learn about his 2024 debut album "Breaking Barriers" and his 2024 illustrated book "Passion to Exploration of 107 Sound Machines" by visiting www.neilnayyar.com. #rentalfamilymovie #breakingbarriers
