# 166: Want To Make More Impact And Have More Satisfaction In Your Career? Do This...

The Career Change Maker Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 3, 2022 16:47

In today's episode of the ‘Career Change Maker' podcast, I talk about what you need to be doing if you want to have more impact and satisfaction in your careers. This topic is important to talk about because there are a lot of people who are feeling dissatisfied right now in their careers, and they need to identify the real problem. So, today I will be discussing the importance of getting to the crux of what the issue is because the reason why you may be experiencing dissatisfaction in your career is that there is a misalignment between your expectation and the reality of what's happening for you. Episode Highlights:·       01:25 – I work with a lot of women who come to me and say that they need to make a massive career move but they do not know what to do.·       04:10 - I think sometimes you may think that this is how I'm going to feel when I reach a certain status.·       06:20 - While external factors are important, they are not everything that we need because once you land the role, and secure that pay check, then you've got to do the role.·       08:25 - When you set those expectations, it is so much easier for it to be aligned because the expectations are set in terms of how I like to show up in terms of my previous exposure in the world of work and my understanding of what hasn't worked for me. ·       10:20 - I would encourage you that if you want to be doing something more impactful, and I want to experience more satisfaction in your career then take some time to assess what has been my markers of success so far.·       12:40 - The groundwork is necessary that so many people just gloss over and then find themselves hoping for the best, or staying in the same role thinking that it gets better.·       13:20 - I've got a few spots open inside my coaching program - ‘Career Change Maker Program' for starting in March. What you will learn:When there's a misalignment between expectation, and what happens in reality, that is where dissatisfaction can occur. We can often be focused on external factors as a society because that's how we are taught when it comes to developing in your careers is looking at external factors. Those markers that are very much externally determined are the things that can sometimes drive us in terms of our decisions. If you're hopping from one role to another, and you're not finding that satisfaction in this current role, hoping that it gets better, either way, there's an opportunity here for reflection. If you want more impact and satisfaction, and you're not finding it so far, then Janine suggests that you approach things differently. ‘Career Change Maker' podcast host, Janine Esbrand, is a Career Strategist, an Executive Coach, and the Creator of the Career Change Making Method.Other episodes you may also enjoy:Episode 123: Knowing What To Do Is Not Enough To Land Your Ideal RoleEpisode 135: How To Overcome Feeling Guilty About Seeking A Career ChangeTHIS EPISODE IS BOUGHT TO YOU BY THE CAREER CHANGE MAKER PROGRAMThis episode was brought to you by my signature program, the Career Change Maker Program. If you are looking for support with changing career direction, book a suitability call >>

So you're no longer doing the same type of role but you're using your transferable skills and your skillset to work in an environment that may be similar to what you've been working in.·         11:00 - Having focus allows you to move forward with confidence instead of spinning your wheels where you are, and considering the other options means that you're leaning into what's important for you and creating your criteria.·         14:05 - I've had so many conversations with my clients who have seen opportunities and got excited about them, and when I faced them, I was like this sounds good.·         16:20 – To summarize, you can change your career with confidence by making a shift into a new role, you can make a pivot in your career, and lastly, you can make a leap where you decide I'm going to leave this role. ·         17: 30 – Many people are staying in roles for too long because they just don't want to make that decision, and ultimately, they are missing out on an opportunity to make the type of impact they could make if they were in the right role. What you will learn: There are three different ways that you can be making a career change. Janine talks about all three ways (Shift, Pivot, and Leap), and how you can be applying them to your situation. A situation like either you say where I'm right now or if I need to do something completely different, and hence the career shift can feel too much. However, there're different options, it is not an either/or situation. These different options are available, but it is important to consider what is important to you right now in this stage of your career. Because sometimes when we try to make career change decisions, it feels like a struggle and there is resistance around moving. Ultimately, whether you decide that you're going to make a Shift, Pivot, or Leap it comes down to you making a decision and moving in your career rather than staying in the role that you're in right now feeling frustrated, feeling like you're being overlooked and undervalued.‘Career Change Maker' podcast host, Janine Esbrand, is a Career Strategist, an Executive Coach, and the Creator of the Career Change Making Method.Other episodes you may also enjoy:Episode 104:  The Power Of Embracing Change With Danusia  Malina - DerbanEpisode 103: Staying In Your Current Role Could Be Costing You More Than You ThinkTHIS EPISODE IS BOUGHT TO YOU BY THE CAREER CHANGE MAKER PROGRAMThis episode was brought to you by my signature program, the Career Change Maker Program. If you are looking for support with changing career direction, book a suitability call >>

In today's episode of the ‘Career Change Maker' podcast, as part of career change strategies, I talk about if you want more than a role that looks good on paper. I often have conversations with people who are contemplating some kind of move in their careers, and what I hear is the frustration that people find themselves in around their careers where they feel they should be at this stage in their career. Episode Highlights:·       02:25 – Whilst it's great to be able to acknowledge what peers are doing if that pathway isn't right for you, it doesn't matter what other people are doing. But we're used to looking at the benchmark of what everyone is doing, as the standard.·       04:55 - It's exhausting to be showing up on a day-to-day basis, doing your best work, but knowing that this isn't actually what I want to be doing.·       08:45 - The biggest mistake that I see within the career space, or when people are looking at making moves, is the assumption that I need to just throw everything out the window.·       11:10 - Oftentimes, when people that I work with inside of my program, do this to identify the thing that is causing them to feel to not want to do the work, they realize that maybe they do want to do something completely different.·       16:40 - My encouragement to you today is to focus on what, and why you want to do it because that shifts things. If you're unclear on what the next step is, start with why are you unhappy where you are. That's the first thing that can help you to start determining, where you should move to.What you will learn: The reason that you get stuck in figuring out what to do next is that it's too big. You need to be able to identify what are the things that are causing me to not like the work that I'm doing or not feel stretched in the work that I'm doing. Because when you work with the specific, that is our starting place where we can say, “If I feel like this is missing, what kind of shift or change would I need to make so that I could get that?”Lean into making data-driven decisions, and asking the right questions. So you can determine what it is that you need to change. You can analyze from the information and data that you already have. For you to have more from your career, and not just have a career that looks good on paper, you need to take time, to do an audit and understand what is it about what I'm doing that's not working, and recognize that the assumptions that you might be making about what is required for you to feel better about what it is that you're doing which may be incorrect?‘Career Change Maker' podcast host, Janine Esbrand, is a Career Strategist, an Executive Coach, and the Creator of the Career Change Making Method. Other episodes you may also enjoy:Episode 132: The Six Letter Word That Is Stopping You From Making Your Next Career MoveEpisode 131: How To Leverage Your Existing Experience To Transition Into A New RoleTHIS EPISODE IS BOUGHT TO YOU BY THE CAREER CHANGE MAKER PROGRAMThis episode was brought to you by my signature program, the Career Change Maker Program. If you are looking for support with changing career direction, book a suitability call >> Career Clarity Call

# 163 Why You Deserve A Better Role So You Can Stop Feeling Unhappy At Work

The Career Change Maker Podcast

In today's episode of the ‘Career Change Maker' podcast, I talk about why you deserve a better role at work so you can stop feeling unhappy. The reason I am talking about this topic is that sometimes people are in roles where they're not performing to their capacity, which means feeling that they are not operating at 100%, but they could be doing so much more. Episode Highlights:·         02:38 – For someone who is a high achiever and focused on being their best, internally they feel that they need to be doing their best, and need to be operating at a certain level.·         06:30 - The goal in life is not to attain some imaginary ideal but to fully find and own your gifts.·         08:50 - The reason why the job role is not fully aligned to you as a person is because you haven't considered yourself in the decisions.·         11:40 - It takes courage for you to recognize that this is a long game if you think about the length of your career, and how long do you want to be in a position where you're not able to show up fully as yourself.·         13:30 - I want to encourage you if you are someone who's been saying I need to do something different. You started every year for the last few years saying the same thing, but yet you're still in the same role. I want you to think about what is it?·         15:55 - The Career Change Making Program formerly known as the Career Clarity Academy is my signature coaching program, which is a transformational coaching experience focused on helping you to develop and advance in your career. What you will learn: Oftentimes, people are in roles where they're not performing to their full capacity, but they could be doing so much more. They're settling in roles where they feel they don't want to be doing this. So you must pay attention to the cause of feeling unhappy at work. When most professionals look upon their ideal role at the beginning that seems to be an ideal role to them. But as they move forward in the role they realize that they don't feel like they are bringing their whole self to work or they feel it is not fully aligned to them. The reason you feel unhappy is that there's a misalignment between the work that you're doing on a day-to-day basis and who you are as a person. There's a misalignment between what's required of you, and who you are naturally, and when there is that misalignment, then there's tension.Nothing is permanent, things change, you change, value shifts and perspectives change but just because a decision that you made years ago was made, it doesn't mean that you have to stay there. It doesn't mean that you can't transition, and do something different.‘Career Change Maker' podcast host, Janine Esbrand, is a Career Strategist, an Executive Coach, and the Creator of the Career Change Making Method.Other episodes you may also enjoy:Episode 121: You Don't Need To Retrain To Find Job SatisfactionEpisode 124: Making A Big Career TransitionTHIS EPISODE IS BOUGHT TO YOU BY THE CAREER CHANGE MAKER PROGRAMThis episode was brought to you by my signature program, the Career Change Maker Program. If you are looking for support with changing career direction, book a suitability call >> Career Clarity Call

In today's episode of the ‘Career Change Maker' podcast, I talk about the number one Career Lesson I wish I had learned earlier. I thought I would talk on this topic and share some tips because this came up in a few conversations that I've had recently. I'm going to share with you some of the lessons that I've been reflecting on from my legal career and then how that's translated to where I am now.Episode Highlights:·         01:45 – When I first started as a Lawyer, I had no idea what I was doing, as many of us when we started in our careers.·         07:20 - In my journey, the moment when I had the time to do that reflection was when I went on maternity leave, and I started asking myself the tough questions like what do I want, and it was hard to answer.·         09:30 - At that point, I decided that I was going to leave private practice, and then I went and worked as an in-house lawyer. But it took me considering from the inside out what the best next move was versus from the outside in.·         12:50 - I wish I knew earlier how important it is for you to fully understand yourself and your preferences when you were seeking out a new opportunity.·         14:40 – There are a few things that are misaligned when you are making a shift, but you can make some small changes where you are right now and things would be massively improved. ·         16:10 – Another lesson that I wish I had learned earlier would be to understand myself better so that I could trust myself better in my decision-making and not have to rely solely on external factors or opinions or social constructs or the norms within my industry. What you will learn:The number one lesson is the importance of understanding yourself and then flowing from that trusting yourself because when you take the time to understand yourself, it becomes less about external factors and more about whether it is going to work for you. When you understand what your work preferences are, and what your strengths are, then it becomes easier for you to make the decision. When you ask yourself, what do you want, it requires an honest answer, and honesty requires courage because if you are committed to a particular path and you've invested time, energy, and resources to get there then you ask yourself what do you want? If what you want is not aligned with where you are then it takes courage to admit that because then the question is what do I do about it?Taking the time to establish what is that I want and what is missing can help you determine where I need to go next. Also you should be doing it in a way that is methodical, strategic, and allows you to feel confident in the moves that you're making.‘Career Change Maker' podcast host, Janine Esbrand, is a Career Strategist, an Executive Coach, and the Creator of the Career Change Making Method.Other episodes you may also enjoy:Episode 89: Why Do You Want To Make A Career ChangeEpisode 90: What Do You Want Life To Look Like?THIS EPISODE IS BOUGHT TO YOU BY THE CAREER CHANGE MAKER PROGRAMThis episode was brought to you by my signature program, the Career Change Maker Program. If you are looking for support with changing career direction, book a suitability call >> Career Clarity Call.

In today's episode of the ‘Career Change Maker' podcast, I talk about the fact that Career Change is not supposed to be easy.I am interested to talk about this topic because oftentimes when we want to move towards our goal, we can be prevented from moving forward as it feels too hard.Episode Highlights:·       01:44 – I want to share with you the backstory because I think it would be useful for us and also inspiring.·       03:55 - Lots of people have writing books on their bucket list. They say one day, I'd love to write a book.·       06:10 - The first time that you do anything, it's going to be hard.·       08:35 – It's you who got to decide that am I going to stay where I am or am I going to make a decision that I'm going to try and do something different.·       10:25 – Recognize that when you do hard things, you get good at doing hard things. So, you can do harder things and achieve bigger goals and go for what it is that you want.·       12:50 - The program is designed to not just make a decision but it lets walk you through a step-by-step process so that when you make your decision, you know that it's the right one.·       16:45 – There are ways that you can position yourself and make sure that you know how to negotiate correctly so that doesn't have to be the case for you.·       18:05 - I created the ‘Career Change Maker' program and a Career Change Making Method because it pains me to see so many amazing, and talented women fall into the category of coasting female professionals.·       19:20 - If you like the sound of becoming a Career Change Maker then I invite you to make an application for this program. What you will learn:The first time you do anything, it is always difficult. But the more and more you do that thing, the easier it gets, because you stretch your ability, you adapt, and then you grow. So, it's the same principle when it comes to making a move in your career. On your first day at work, you feel nervous but gradually you adapt to the environment.Taking steps now, whatever it is you're considering is going to impact what happens later on down the line for you and your career. The decisions that you make and the opportunities that are open to you, if you are thinking about taking the plunge or making a move transitioning right now, then do it. If you don't know what to do, let's figure out what you should be doing. Let's not just stop there, and just say, well, it's just too hard to figure out because the reality of it is you're going to have to revisit that conversation. If you're just parking it all the time and saying I'll come back to it, you're not making any progress.‘Career Change Maker' podcast host, Janine Esbrand, is a Career Strategist, an Executive Coach, and the Creator of the Career Change Making Method.Other episodes you may also enjoy:Episode 121: You Don't Need To Retrain To Find Job SatisfactionEpisode 124: Making A Big Career TransitionTHIS EPISODE IS BOUGHT TO YOU BY THE CAREER CHANGE MAKER PROGRAMThis episode was brought to you by my signature program, the Career Change Maker Program. If you are looking for support with changing career direction, book a suitability call >> Career Clarity Call.

In today's episode of the ‘Career Change Maker' podcast, I talk about why who you spend time with is going to impact how quickly you're able to make your next career change. The reason why I want to focus on this is that we need to be thinking about what is holding us back from moving towards the career change and career development that we ultimately want to make. Episode Highlights:·       01:30 – I start by sharing a story of a client that I worked with.·       03:15 - The thing that made the biggest difference was a community so my client was able to surround herself with a group of people who had a completely different perspective to those that she would normally spend time with.·       06:20 – I encourage you to look beyond just adding people into your network and instead focus on what the point is of expanding your network.·       08:15 - Being around friends, family members, and people who have seen you in your current role, with your current status, can hold you back as that's how they will see you - this will make it difficult for you to view yourself in another way.·       10:05 - If you don't have the right people in your network then you should start thinking about the strategies and actions you can take to fill those gaps.·       11:55 – I created this program and the Career Change Maker Method because it pains me to see so many amazing, brilliant women not reaching their career potential. What you will learn: Successful people and those in leadership positions are going to have mentors and coaches. They are going to have people who are guiding them or who are supporting them, and helping them to get to where it is that they want to get to. These types of people can act as a guide for you too on your career journey. Expanding your network is about building relationships. Building relationships will help open doors and opportunities for you. They're going to introduce you to the right people. It also helps to elevate or shift your mindset around what is possible for you, and that is even more powerful. If you're surrounding yourself with people who are of a positive mindset, who have a growth mindset then you too are going to have that but if you are surrounded by people who don't, then it's hard for you to push through and maintain that. So I encourage you to start thinking strategically about your network.‘Career Change Maker' podcast host, Janine Esbrand, is a Career Strategist, an Executive Coach and the Creator of Career Change Making Method.Other episodes you may also enjoy:Episode120: Has The Fear of Success Been Holding You Back?Episode 121 : You Don't Need To Retrain To Find Job SatisfactionTHIS EPISODE IS BOUGHT TO YOU BY THE CAREER CHANGE MAKER PROGRAMThis episode was brought to you by my signature program, the Career Change Maker Program. If you are looking for support with changing career direction, book a suitability call >> Career Clarity Call.

In today's episode I discuss how to position yourself for better career opportunities in 2022. This is a time of the year when everybody is talking about New Year's resolutions and forming new habits. I also share how you can be approaching things differently when it comes to your career and career development. Episode Highlights:·         01:40 – I share that I want to talk about how you can do things differently in a sustainable way.·         04:30 - The reason why so many people fail when it comes to setting new year resolutions.·         07:30 – I want you to be thinking like an athlete as you approach your career this year.·         09:40 – I suggest that you as an individual get to be the CEO of your career and need to do things on a day-to-day basis.·         10:40 - The second thing that you need to be doing this year, so you can position yourself correctly is be strategic.·         12:25 - If you're looking for strategy, and you're not sure exactly what you need to be doing, it's possible for you to get support with that.·         13:00 - The last thing you need to ask yourself is: do I have the resources that I need to meet the goal?·         15:10 – You need to identify what resource gap is there, and what you need to be paying attention to so that you're able to step up to what it is that you want to do.·         16:15 - If you're surrounded by people who are of a similar mindset, and who want the same things that you want, it's so much easier for you to just be moving, be amongst people where there is momentum, and there is movement.·         17:30 – I share how I'm planning to bring the community over to LinkedIn. This is going to be a think tank of different professionals who are looking at changing, advancing, and developing in their careers.·         18:35 – I reiterate that to be successful, have your plan, be strategic, and arrange the essential resources; focussing on these three things is going to help you to get to where you want to go this year. What you will learn:1.    Research has shown that only 8% of people who set New Year's resolutions will follow through and be successful on those - They have great intentions at the start but by February or March, it goes a bit left, and then they don't follow through. So there are three things that I talk about, that you should be focused on throughout the year when it comes to your career development.2.    If you fail to plan, you plan to fail - Because if you don't have a plan, you cannot make it to reality. So having a plan, taking the time to map out, and putting the plan in place so that you can be successful is important.3.    A bonus thing you can do - Surround yourself with people who are doing what it is you want to do, or who are on the journey. Getting into a community is super important as that is going to accelerate your results. ‘Career Change Maker' podcast host, Janine Esbrand, is a Career Strategist, an Executive Coach and the Creator of Career Change Making Method.THIS EPISODE IS BOUGHT TO YOU BY THE CAREER CHANGE MAKER PROGRAMThis episode was brought to you by my signature program, the Career Change Maker Program. If you are looking for support with changing career direction, book a suitability call >> Career Clarity Call

Everyone's favorite thing in life are before and afters. At least, it's one of my favorite things in life. Today is Part 2 of our "Where Are They Now" series, where I'm bringing back four more guests who have been on our podcast. These women all did marketing strategy sessions live on the podcast, and we wanted to get an update and see where they are now and what's happened in their businesses. We talk about what they've been doing, what amazing things are they working on, and what advice they have for us as listeners. You can find their original episodes linked below: Janine Esbrand: http://malloryschlabach.com/037-2/  Emma Bates: http://malloryschlabach.com/054-2/ Melody Morris: http://malloryschlabach.com/056-2/ Monique Horb: http://malloryschlabach.com/061-2/ About Janine: Janine Esbrand is the founder of LightBox Coaching. She helps ambitious women to design and launch their dream careers or businesses beyond motherhood through individual coaching, her membership community and her weekly podcast. Janine Esbrand studied for her LLB law degree at City University in London, before spending a year working at a law firm in New York. Upon her return to the UK, she completed her legal training and qualified as a corporate lawyer. Alongside her legal career, Janine trained as a career and executive coach and is a member of the Association for Coaching. When she is not coaching or practising law, Janine can be found spending time with her husband and two young children, playing netball or travelling. About Emma: I am lucky enough to be a mother to three awesome children, ages 10, 8 and 4. And I'm crazy enough to try and run an online business or two. I have started five businesses in the last 10 years. Some of them were very successful, (I even sold one!) and others were total failures. If I'm not working on my blog or business, you can find me watching New Girl with my husband and eating ice cream. About Melody: I am Melody Morris of Total Energy Healing USA. I am an inspirational speaker and a Shamanic Healer. I help women who have experienced sexual or relationship trauma release it and move forward into the life and relationships they desire and deserve. I have studied multiple energy healing modalities for more than 2 decades, both from scientific and spiritual aspects. About Monique: Monique Horb has a passion for helping women who are busy, tired, and overwhelmed. She does this by organizing homes and paper piles so that women can be more productive, have time and energy to live their purpose, and live the life they want. She loves to say, Life Is Easier Organized! She began her business, Organizing Your Chaos, after experiencing depression, bankruptcy, adoption, marriage and medical crisis. These things were out of her control, and her home was falling apart. Through twists and turns, she learned that with an organized home she was able to manage.

My guest on this episode is the awesome Janine Esbrand, a London based corporate and commercial lawyer who enrolled in Leverage after traditional online launch methods failed to yield the results she wanted.   Janine is a career strategist, executive coach, and a TEDx speaker and podcast host. She’s also the creator of the Career Clarity Academy, a group coaching program designed to help mid-level professionals change career direction and land their ideal role without having to take a pay cut or retrain.   With 12 years of experience in the legal industry and a drive to find solutions that support her growth, Janine is very inspiring to listen to. This episode is especially interesting if you struggle to confidently close clients on sales calls. Key Highlights of the Episode This episode was extremely actionable and insightful. Here are a few key highlights: Are you using the right method? - Janine tried using a membership model for her first launch. Although she had some success, she realized she wasn’t going to hit her revenue goals and wasn’t attracting fully committed clients. This caused her to shift her approach and find a better method. Realize your value - Even though she was hesitant to charge a high price tag, Janine thought hard about the value she was bringing to the table and the results she could get for clients. After this, she knew she needed to sell a high-ticket item. Thriving through COVID - Despite having invested in Leverage just before the international break-out of COVID, Janine remained fully committed to the process. With more and more people needing a career change, she’s found her services are more relevant than ever. Qualify your leads - Janine always questions whether a prospect is the right person for her program. Rather than trying to make a sale, she now tries to ensure that she’s only attracting clients that will be a good fit. Learning how to close consistently - When Janine began using the Champagne Closer™ Method, she learned to shift her focus from trying to make the sale, to helping people understand what they wanted and help them make the right decision. This instantly turned around her sales performance. And lots more! Tune in now.  This episode is brought to you by LEVERAGE:   Today’s episode is brought to you by my group coaching program LEVERAGE.    LEVERAGE™ is a comprehensive, high performance coaching program for expert service providers who are ready to reclaim their time and sustainably surpass 6-figures in the next 12 months.   In order to do that, it’s time that you STOP MIMICKING WHAT YOU SEE OTHER COURSE CREATORS DOING.   Every day we help coaches and service providers, like you, transform their 1:1 service into a SUSTAINABLE business that is set up to automate the necessary aspects of your offer so you have the energy to show up, serve your clients and increase your business growth month after month.   Interested? I decided to theme 2020: unleash your inner power. Even though we can reassess ourselves at any time, to me this beginning of the new year feels like the perfect time to set my intentions of what kind of life I want to live and love. A time to live in my truth, speak up, advocate for what I stand for, embrace my full-self and share my gift to the world. In this episode, I exchange with Tedx talk speaker Janine Esbrand, a woman who stepped into HER power which improved her life to have it all. She is the hero of many career-driven women who find themselves overwhelmed, feeling unprepared for their new position or career, and often are at a crossroads between their own well-being, being present in their own personal lives and delivering high-quality work. She decided to trade her prestigious position with becoming a consultant lawyer and building her own business. Giving her the flexibility to focus on expanding her career as a coach so she could share her experience and efficient tools with other women transitioning to a consequential life shift. Fully embracing and unleashing her inner power actually led her to live a life in which she does everything she loves and has fun while doing so. Her work helps those women live more consciously in a way that they find balance in their lives. Janine created a beautiful supportive community of women who are living a life they chose. In this episode, I'm in conversation with Janine Esbrand - career and executive coach and Founder of Lightbox Coaching. Janine qualified as a lawyer and shortly after qualifying went on a life changing trip to Africa. After this she began seeking something that would help her give back and discovered the coaching world and that she was and always had been a natural coach. An important part of her coaching is mindset and rethinking what's important to you now and your visions and your values as they may well have changed. Confidence also frequently takes a knock combined with not appreciating the scale of their previous achievements. Janine helps draw this out of them along with where they want to go in the future. Janine still works as a consulting lawyer fulfilling her love of law and her passion for coaching. She shares how she experienced imposter syndrome early in her coaching career, initially believing she could only coach people who were also lawyers. Coming from a law practice, it was a steep steep learning curve to start marketing herself and just come to grips with all the aspects involved in running your own business. We talk about the decision to leave the law firm when she couldn't get the balance she wanted between working and spending time with her son. The drive to ensure time is spent with her family continues and we learn about her calendar (and the white space!) Having a mentor can be an absolute gamechanger, especially for working moms who are figuring out how to make their career work post motherhood. On this episode, Amanda Adeola, family lawyer and mumm of two, joins us as an advocate for mentorship. As mentorship played a role in Amanda's career from an early age, she talks through the benefits of being on either side of a mentor relationship, and provides guidance on how to kickstart that kind of relationship in your own life. She reminds us that there is always someone who has come before us, and that there is no value or need in going it alone. She also shares how her work in family law shifted slightly to better fit her new life as a mum, and some words of advice on surviving the transition.
