For someone who is in the depths of an abusive relationship, it can be hard to make sense of what's happening. But the impacts on your life, and your mental health, can be profound. In this episode of From Survivor to Thriver, we had the great honor of sitting down with Nikki La Croce, who experienced an abusive relationship that changed her life. She discusses the growth that came from this hard situation and also delves into the mental health challenges that people in the LGBTQ community face and how we can all become more open-minded and accepting people. In early 2021, Nikki La Croce experienced what she now refers to as her “personal armageddon”, as she left a decade-long abusive relationship and simultaneously was faced with the unexpected loss of her mother amidst the peak of the pandemic.  Navigating these events and being forced to cope with two very different types of grief at once, Nikki's perspective on mental health, personal growth, and healing through trauma shifted drastically. She has always felt strongly about the importance of human connection and thanks to a tremendous amount of support from her family, friends and her therapist, she made the decision to return to the mic to share her own story in May 2022. Now, you can catch new episodes of Who The F*ck? every week to hear guests from all over the globe share their unique stories of resilience, gratitude and their missions to make meaningful change in the world. Nikki sees the continued growth of her show as a way to help others feel seen and heard, so they can learn how to prioritize their well-being and find the inner peace we all deserve.  In today's episode, we cover: The power of a strong support systemThe gaslighting and manipulation Nikki endured in her previous relationshipThe impact - good or bad- that your partner can have on your life Why boundaries matter so muchHow low self-esteem can impact your view on the love you think you deserveThe growth that can happen after leaving abusive situationsThe mental health struggles within the LGBTQ community Embracing an open-minded approach to lifeLiving your truth  We hope you enjoyed our conversation with Nikki! Most people, but sellers in particular, are afraid of silence because it makes us uncomfortable. This discomfort often leads us to try and talk more to ‘take control' of a conversation. If you're a seller, try not to give in to this temptation. Because the moment you start talking more than your client, you will have already lost the deal. In this episode of the No BS Sales School podcast, Walker McKay shares a deceptively simple and almost contrarian take on selling that if applied correctly, should help you 10x your goals and become a better seller overall. Spoiler alert: it involves shutting the hell up.  HIGHLIGHTSYour customer doesn't actually care about your productLet the customer do the talking You're missing a lot of important information by talking too muchHow sellers can use the discomfort of silence Don't be afraid of a little vulnerability Don't have every answer; be quiet QUOTESWalker on why your product doesn't actually differentiate you from other sellers: "People will buy mediocre and pay more if they like the experience, if they like the person that they're dealing with." Walker's tips for differentiating yourself from other sellers: "Shut the hell up. Be quiet. Shut your pie hole. Stop talking."Why sellers should let the customer do the talking: "The whole time she was talking, I was thinking, 'Nope, don't wanna do it. Has nothing to do with me. Not where I want to spend my time. Nope, nope nope.' Meanwhile, she is having none of that because her brain is figuring out what words to say next. There's no processing going on when you're talking. It's just what words are you gonna say next." Where to find Walker:LinkedInTwitterInstagramFree training coursewww.walkermckay.com

It's time to talk science on the Yay For Business Podcast. Today I am discussing one of my favorite topics that I have researched quite a bit: energy management. We always hear about how to manage our time and squeeze more hours into the working day, but it turns out, that is not what we should concentrate on. Consider this episode your entrepreneurial intervention for pivoting your focus from time management to energy management. Contrary to what so many entrepreneurs say, you don't need to find more time; you need to maximize the time you have by using your energy efficiently.   Energy is a vital resource for business and life. By the end of today's episode, you will have a better understanding of where your energy comes from and how you can use that energy to benefit your business. I am excited to share both my personal experiences and scientific research about why our bodies need to feel both stress and rest. By tuning into our energy cycles, we can prepare ourselves for stressful work and restful vacation times.  In today's episode, we're specifically coveringWhere energy comes from at the atomic levelThe importance of paying attention to your energyFight or flight vs. rest and repairThe limitations of working too muchHow energy works in a cycleUsing energy to build a business that grows without youThis episode is part 3 of 4 in our Secret to Freedom series. https://youtu.be/QbJIv6ady9g Looking for advice on chastity from a Catholic perspective regardless of your state of life? In this episode, top Theology of the Body evangelist, Christopher West, explains how an improper view of Catholic teaching on human sexuality can elicit rebellious reactivity, whereas understanding Pope St. John Paul II's Theology of the Body can inspire joyful excitement about chastity. Using analogies about diet, West explains how we can go from a diet of sexual starvation to feeling satisfied, regardless of one's state in life, simply by correcting our view on sexual morality and acting accordingly. In this episode, besides sharing his own inspirational story from sexual promiscuity to purity, Christopher West tells us: How his presentation of the Theology of the Body has changed since Naked without ShameHow he fell for the "fast food gospel" when he was young as a reaction to the "starvation diet gospel"How Theology of the Body is an invitation to a banquetWhat the difference is between eros and porneaHow he chose and developed his speaking style Why he talks about popular music and media so muchHow when we sin, we are actually looking for something goodWhat's wrong with pornographyThe role of knowing the difference between using and loving in pure Christian courtshipHow a person is indispensable, irreplaceable and unrepeatableHow chastity orients erotic desire towards upholding the dignity of the human personWhy anyone would become a priest or religious if the marital embrace is so beautiful Books by Christopher West from his book store: Theology of the Body for Beginners 2018 Updated and Revised https://shop.corproject.com/collections/books/products/theology-of-the-body-for-beginners Good News About Sex & Marriage 2018 Updated and Revised https://shop.corproject.com/collections/books/products/good-news-about-sex-and-marriage Love Is Patient, But I'm Not (which may have stories he will refer to in answer some of your questions about his growth as an evangelizer) https://shop.corproject.com/collections/books/products/love-is-patient-but-i-m-not-confessions-of-a-recovering-perfectionist Word Made Flesh: A Companion to the Sunday Mass Readings https://shop.corproject.com/collections/books/products/the-word-made-flesh-a-companion-to-the-sunday-readings-cycle-c-pre-order-releases-sept-7-2018 Christopher West's Facebook community information and free course on the practical application of the Theology of the Body: https://community.theologyofthebody.com/freecourse For more information on the show and other resources visit https://healingandpeace.com/blog/.
