Reportage Afrique

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 3, 2023 2:12

Bill Nalu, our guest today, is the President of Interstate Auto Care and a fantastic leader who lives and breathes serving. At Interstate Auto Care, Bill and his crew focus on offering superior customer service, integrity, and professionalism. In this episode, our conversation spin around the many aspects of being a successful leader. We talked about why sometimes the relationships at work don't mimic our relationships at home, the kind of people we should hire to work with us, and how hard it is sometimes to talk about feelings with tough men that work fixing cars. Bill shared brilliant insights about being aware of cultural traits when dealing with customers, the importance of balance in leadership, and how do encouragement should look like to avoid creating "praise junkies." I've done a lot of personal work and moved on from accepting scraps. But the reason why I was in this situation back then was because I had a subconscious belief that I was unworthy of real love. My programming kept me stuck in toxic relationships where I was perpetually betraying and disrespecting myself, and allowing other men to do the same. When I finally got sick of my behavior, I decided that I was done with kissing frogs and ready to do whatever it took to change. I was ready to manifest a relationship and life that reflected the emotionals wanted to feel more often: love, peace and joy.Lani Nalu is a women's coach who I interviewed on the podcast recently and she shares her wisdom that led her to create the life of her dreams. She had previously been in an on-again, off-again abusive marriage and went on a courageous journey of self-awareness and healing to manifest her ideal partner.Lani also talks about the other challenges she's faced: growing up with emotional and physical abuse, being 30K in debt, her paralyzing fear and doubt, and how she was able to overcome all of this adversity through making big decisions and consciously sticking to them.Listen to Episode 32 NowAre you in a place where you feel stuck? Where the path ahead looks tough or has too many options.? Or maybe there isn't a path at all and you need to carve one out for yourself. It could be a sign that you're moving into your next chapter of life. In my experience, every evolution we go through comes along with some discomfort and uncertainty. And on the other side comes comfort, confidence and a deeper sense of self. One of the best decisions I've made during times like these was to hire a life coach to guide me through. I gained the clarity and direction I needed to get out of the hamster wheel I felt I was stuck in and the traction and sense of control that I needed to transform my life.If this is where you are right now, you can book a call with me or even set up a time to meet in person (I'm in SF in November and Europe in December!). Jess Nalu, also known as The Vulva Lady™ & Creatrix of the One Million Vulva Art Movement™ is a Free Spirited, Intuitive, Vulva Artist, Travel Enthusiast, Mama of 2 Epic Humans, Yoga Instructor, Psychology Major, and a Sensual/Sexual Liberation Mentor. Realizing early on in her life that she was here to be a unique & innovative leader, Jess Nalu is passionate about reminding people who they truly are and all that is possible for them, when they DARE to LIVE Outrageously with full self-acceptance and authenticity… all while embodying pleasure as the pathway to freedom! Having studied Psychology, Yoga, and various other healing modalities, she realized each one's limitations, yet how they were all interconnected to healing in a more holistic way. This led Jess to create her unique & bespoke methodology, which is more aligned & integrative, and which MOST IMPORTANTLY addresses human sexuality (a topic too often ignored and/or unexpressed). She is all about breaking the taboo and letting it be FUN & Pleasurable! Her vision is to see people having fun, living in their power, and experiencing freedom & abundance in all aspects of their lives... including & most importantly in their sensuality! Sensuality touches every aspect of our lives and Jess teaches how it is intimately connected to everything from money, health, mental well-being, and the list goes on! As a passionate, innovative, courageous leader, she has devoted her life to helping people reclaim their wild & free spirit, so that women and men can move beyond living a life of mere survival, and into a life of thriving! She recognizes the missing links in the masculine/feminine dynamic and has been told her work is the "bridge" to helping people achieve balance, trust, safety, connection, communication, deep intimacy, and understanding... all whilst having fun in the process! Her clients describe her as "fiercely loving" "raw, intuitive, earthy,” Mama Bear" and a "visionary who sees what's possible for you, even when you can't, and helps you to have the courage to finally see and embody it in yourself as well." Personally, she loves: humor, playing, being in nature, practicing yoga, dancing, creating art, attending workshops, learning & expanding, traveling all over the world with her children, laughing with her family & friends, and overall enjoys living her life to the fullest all while exploring & embodying her delicious pleasure! When our global realities changed this year, it was an opportunity to take a hard look at ourselves. Were we still proud of what we'd created? Did it still resonate? We knew we wanted to create a business that was a more genuine reflection of our hearts and the times. So in our new vision of the world, we're here for more dynamism, more raw creativity, and fewer labels. To hell with formulaic. Let's make what we want and call it what we want. Welcome to the Oceanriders Podcast, conversations with creatives, entrepreneurs, thinkers and dreamers who also happen to be surfers. Episode 5 is the second part of my conversation with Scott Martin. If you didn't get a chance to listen to it, I highly recommend downloading the first part (Episode 4) because it's packed with really interesting and useful information, and Scott is an amazing storyteller. In the previous episode, Scott described what it is to be ambitiously lazy, what he does as a Multipassionate Marketing Entrepreneur in his consulting business Groundswell Marketing. We talk about the implications of growth marketing and what it takes to generate passive income. In today's Episode, we focus on Scott's roller-coaster personal development journey with Tony Robbins and Gary Vaynerchuck, and how these experiences have helped him boost his personal and professional life. You might recall in the previous episode, Scott mentions his epiphany when he gets stranded at Miami airport without enough money to fly home. By picking up a Tony Robbins book, and applying the principles, he got a free ticket back to Canada and launched himself on the route to success. Well in this episode, we get to find out what he's been up to for the past year, and how the same Tony Robbins has helped him make positive changes all throughout his life. We then explore what it is to have a value proposition for your own business and talk about business models that are designed to give back to communities. Scott has a really interesting view on this and his experience is paving the way to innovative business models. A few years ago, Scott created an online community called Surf Art World and he shares his experience of creating a community (and now several communities) without having to create any content! So if you are a business owner or digital entrepreneur, his idea to work with competition instead of compete with it is downright genius. Finally, we get to talk about surfing, how it all started in Scott's life, and how he weaves surfing into his work/life balance. Thank you Scott for being such a fun guest to talk to! To connect with Scott, it's really easy, you can visit his Instagram pages, starting with @scottmartin_org, his marketing consultancy www.groundswell.marketing and his latest business venture www.swellness.co Scott and his associate Mallory have launched a 6 week surfer strong challenge this November on their website, and you're invited to join the party : just connect to www.swellness.co As you noticed, Scott has also dozens of other communities that he manages from Surfartworld to Outdoor.eco. The updated list of communities you can join are below. For every episode, I write an article on Medium.com : it means you can find photos of my guests. Just look me up at www.medium.com/@theoceanriderspodcast If you would like to connect with me directly, please send me an email to hello@theoceanriderspodcast.com. If you liked the conversation with Scott, please give it 5 stars on your personal podcast player app. Taking time to write a review is also really helpful and will help me improve my content in the long run.
