On today's IGN The Fix: Games, A little under an hour after posting and deleting a tweet justifying the decision to incorporate NFT technology into the upcoming STALKER 2, GSC Game World has published a follow-up statement announcing it is backing away from the use of NFTs.GSC was making a number of NFTs for STALKER 2, but one particular draw was a token that will let the owner become an in-game NPC, provided they can get to GSC's studio in Ukraine after successfully bidding on the NFT. An auction was to take place in January 2022, with the winning bidder receiving the prize of becoming what GSC refers to as the first "metahuman" in a game. As of now, GSC has made a decision to cancel anything NFT-related. Tencent has announced today that it has acquired California-based developer Turtle Rock Studios, the developer of Back 4 Blood and the Left 4 Dead series. Welcome back! New episode day! We talk about a lot of things, we discuss the Astroworld tragedy, Turtle Rock Studios having some issues with Back 4 Blood, Eric tries some random Ukrainian spirit, and a few other topics. Enjoy!
Back 4 Blood is not so secretly Left 4 Dead 3. We know it, they know it, everyone knows it. The question is, can the team that originally created Left 4 Dead bounce back after Evolve fell short in many ways. Its been years and years without new Left 4 Dead content but the sequel is basically finally here. Turtle Rock Studios has a lot of good ideas but seems to have trouble making the final product gel together. Back 4 Blood falls into this category and finds itself sandwiched between what made Left 4 Dead great and being bogged down by modern trends in the gaming landscape. Filled with card systems a campaign that can't be progressed solo, and special ridden that don't feel all that special, this is a game that feels like it needed more time in the oven. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/game-pass-or-pass/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/game-pass-or-pass/support

Buon ascolto! Soundtraccia: Outcast Weekly - Alessandro Mucchi
Twitch had its source code and much more leaked, prompting a discussion on the issues with Twitch as a platform; the greatest character to ever be made, Sora, is finally in Smash; and Turtle Rock Studios is making some weird decisions with Back 4 Blood's single player. We also talk about games we're playing: the gorgeous indie RPG Eastward, depressing capitalist living simulator New World, dark survival RTS Age of Darkness, whacky firefighting game Embr, Marvel's Avengers on Game Pass, and some on Metroid Dread and the OLED Switch. We managed to find time to get together and play during the Back 4 Blood open beta weekend a couple weeks ago. Back 4 Blood is the latest upcoming game by Turtle Rock Studios, the studio responsible for the original Left 4 Dead, a game much beloved by the two of us. Naturally, we were excited to play. This episode lays out what we liked, disliked, what we would like/hope to see by release or in the days after release. email us for episode recs at podcastfortwopeople@gmail.com Tyler Twitch - twitch.tv/mendacii Brent Twitch - twitch.tv/cyberbrent check our teespring we got shirts and coffee mugs and shit https://teespring.com/stores/podcast4twopeople
Andrew, Keith, and Dave discuss their thought on the short Back 4 Blood open beta. Back 4 Blood is a first person shooter brought to you by Turtle Rock Studios.
We played the open beta for Back 4 Blood, the new game from Turtle Rock Studios. We're excited to see where this game goes but right now it feels like it's missing something. Listen and find out. We also play Nintendo Labo, the part Lego part game that Nintendo brought out in 2018. Brett spent time building some of these cardboard creations and it's surprisingly a blast to build! Unfortunately, we close out with our disappointment in Sea of Thieves. It's not near as good with the new update as we hoped but at least the Adventure mode is still fun.In the news, Blizzard's President has left, Ghost of Tsushima Legends is going standalone and the Epic Games Store was crazy expensive. We also heard some news that South Park is bringing a new game, a series of new seasons and more.In our discussion, we talk about the state of microtransactions. We used to be big against microtransactions but our idea has since shifted over time as they've developed. With the introduction of Battle Passes and clearer purchases, we've found ourselves investing more in them as they bring out more exciting content. However, the question still remains...are these content packs taking away from our original story content?Check out video clips of our news every week over on YouTube.Show Notes:4:05 - Back 4 Blood Beta37:39 - Nintendo Labo48:55 - Sea of Thieves: A Pirate's Life1:00:31 - Ghosts of Tsushima Legends, South Park and Epic Games Store1:29:29 - The State of Microtransactions1:51:45 - Upcoming Video Game ReleasesBecome a part of the conversation! Link To Article: https://bit.ly/3yu9Wa2Back 4 Blood is the latest game from original Left 4 Dead developers Turtle Rock Studios. It plays a lot like Left 4 Dead, which isn't a bad thing at all! Those older L4D games were some of the best co-op games ever made. But the undead in B4B are more vocal than the infected in L4D, often yelling and screaming more noticeably. Most of these screams are just random noises and grunts. But one scream that I and other players have heard stands out in a way that is 100% likely unintentional but also 100% unfortunate.Update 8/8/2021 11 a.m.: WB Games sent over this comment explaining that the slur players are hearing isn't intentional, as guessed by many. Instead, it is caused by two audio clips playing at the same time. Full comment below:Our team has been made aware of offensive language that can be heard when playing the game. This was not recorded or ever intended to be part of our gameplay. The audio is a result of two different Ridden growls that are playing simultaneously and when heard together sound like that word. We are working diligently to fix this issue, which should be completed either in time for the Beta, or when the game launches.Support the show (https://bit.ly/2XdAlJC)

We are joined by Mike (@BioMosley), Patrick (@Blodhthringa) This week we talk about some BIG news with Microsoft. Such as the Xbox/Twitch showcase ID@Xbox Event highlighting 60 games that are headed to the Xbox Series X/S (Written by the one and only ADAM BANKHURST). There is a rumor going around about Microsoft purchasing Discord for 10 Billion dollars, within the next month. Finally, Xbox takes a name change from Xbox Live to Xbox Network? One sad note in news was the Tweet posted by the amazing creators behind Left4Dead. Their new IP Back4Blood has been pushed back to an October Release. For the reasoning of "Turtle Rock Studios is working hard to make Back4Blood the best game it can possibly be at launch, and the team needs more time to do so". A new Segment (as in we have never done this before) We interview the co-creator of an upcoming board game BEAR ATTACK. We sit down with Jarred and talk about the motive, the inspiration, the steps taken, and the goal of making this board game. We see first hand how to play and what to expect. Will we ever see a third entry in the popular series from Valve, Left 4 Dead. The answer is probably not but heading into 2021, one of the higher profile games expected to release this year is Back 4 Blood from Turtle Rock Studios. If you don't know anything about the game, it’s the spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead, the fantastic co-op survival shooter published by Valve and created by Turtle Rock just before they were acquired way back in 2008. Founded in 2002 with just six people, the team at Turtle Rock gained mainstream attention with their zombie shooter Left 4 Dead and as of today has blossomed to 126 employees based on their LinkedIn page. Despite a somewhat inconsistent portfolio since their inception in 2002, if there is one game that Turtle Rock could hang their hat on, it would be the co-op zombie shooting of Left 4 Dead. Although, with over a decade since the last mainline entry in the series, the big question is do enough people still want that.
On this week's episode of The Game Informer Show, we do something a little bit different. Instead of talking about all the games we've been playing recently, we look back over the year and talk about some of our favorite overlooked gems, such as: Chicken Police, Manifold Garden, Creaks, UnderMine, Gears Tactics, Monster Sanctuary, Necrobarista, Alba: A Wildlife Adventure, Huntdown, Morbid: The Seven Acolytes, Sakura Wars, Call of the Sea, The Last Campfire, Ikenfell, Monster Train. Then we revisit The Game Award winners and settle a bet. Then, we take some time for another fantastic round of community emails. Finally, we close out the show with Alex Stadnik and Alex Van Aken who talk about their hands-on time with Turtle Rock Studios' upcoming 4-player zombie shooter Back 4 Blood. So please join Kim Wallace, Dan Tack, Marcus Stewart, Alex Stadnik, and myself for another wild and ever-entertaining episode! Thanks for listening! This week's Talking Games tackles one of 2015's big hot button issues... evolution! Or we're just talking about Evolve, the new "asymmetrical multiplayer game" from Turtle Rock Studios. Yeah, that's the ticket. Clayton, Kellen, and guest Tommy Reahard chat about one of the year's more high-profile game releases, then get into a general discussion about the multiplayer gaming experience. Thanks to our sponsors for the episode, Know Your Company, and thanks to the Chicago Podcast Coop for the support!

Team OLL is on a creative streak with season eleven. After last week's discovery of #networking, Ste decided to invent a new catchphrase. That he had been shouting to us constantly for the past ten seasons but we finally noticed that he was there. Also, those of you who write fanfic about us may be interested to know that one of Team OLL is having a sleepover at another's house. It will disappoint Stimon worshippers though. This week's Super-Special Guest was Phil Robb from Turtle Rock Studios. We were the final stop on his world wide promotional tour so naturally we offered him a good rub down. After such a good start to the interview we then confused him about how we pronounce 'exception', he spoiled Left 4 Dead 2 for you and we found out what his co-operative and competitive shooter Evolve is going to be like. But does he swear? In terms of features we had Sega Badawi, the second installment of Game Under and a returning contributor who isn't Derek Williams. Ste also realised that we could perhaps monetise our reviews, but then forgets about it and we also remembered to do some work on the official One Life Left game (which is to raise money for the excellent Resonance FM). There's few games that have caused the aisle-clogging crowds like Evolve at this year's PAX Prime. We sit down with Turtle Rock Studios' Chloe Skew, producer of Evolve on the latest developments in the game, including the 12 different characters and three monsters in the four-versus-one shooter.
The Furious Fourcast is back for the 32nd episode and welcomes Jeramy Pappas from the Daily Crate back. The latest Game of Thrones was controversial for one very big and gross reason but there were also some other things in the episode to take issue with. Dragon Age: Inquisition also made a splash this week with a new trailer and a release date. Everything looks fantastic so far but will it live up to the promise? The same can be said with other significant trailers released this week for Evolve from Turtle Rock Studios and Watch Dogs from Ubisoft. That leads to another question as we head deeper into the PS4 and Xbox One. Is the market for AAA games drying up as the costs get bigger and bigger? Both Epic Games and GameStop appear to have read the writing on the wall.

On this week's show we discuss the end (as we know it) of Bioshock Developers, Irrational Games and that Flappy Bird Fiasco before looking at a couple of upcoming games whose embargoes have now lifted: first up there's the multiplayer-focussed Evolve, from the creators of Left 4 Dead, Turtle Rock Studios, which pits 4 players against a single player-controlled monster. Then there's Playstation 4 exclusive, The Order 1886, which promises to meld CGI and real-time gameplay like never before. We also have a new release date for the next Wolfenstein game and even word of the next installment of the Doom franchise… all this and more in another news-packed Game DumpCAST!We also have Jon Marson from our sister show, the TV DumpCAST, filling in for Iain this week.
