Edit This appears to be a well-structured international affairs program that covers a comprehensive range of global topics. A few observations: Strengths: Breadth of coverage: The show tackles major geopolitical regions (Middle East, Europe, Russia, Asia, Latin America) in a systematic way Expert sourcing: Features analysts from respected institutions like FDD, Carnegie Endowment, and U.S. Army War College Timely topics: Addresses current flashpoints like Israel/Gaza, Ukraine support, and regional elections Format observations: The 15-minute segment structure allows for focused discussion without superficial coverage Grouping related topics (like the two-part Israel segment) makes sense The "New World Report" branding for the Latin America hour creates clear thematic organization Potential considerations: Heavy focus on conflict and instability (which may reflect current global realities) The late-night time slot (9 PM-1 AM) suggests this targets a dedicated audience of foreign policy enthusiasts Limited representation of perspectives from the regions being discussed (mostly U.S.-based analysts) Overall, it reads like a serious foreign policy program designed for listeners who want in-depth international analysis rather than headlines. The academic and think tank sourcing suggests it aims for analytical depth over breaking news coverage.

It's Tuesday, May 20th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Fulani Muslim killed 15 unarmed Nigerian Christians On Saturday, May 17th, armed Fulani Muslim militia opened fire on Agatu Christians in Benue State, Nigeria, killing 15 unarmed men. Throughout that North Central region, the Fulani have also killed 159 Christian residents over the last 40 days, according to TruthNigeria.com.   Pray for Christians in Nigeria, suffering the most severe violence in the world today. Romania turns left after election interference On Sunday, Romania has taken the centrist-left position with the election of a new president named Nicușor Dan. Dan is supportive of Romania's participation in the European Union, and has made moves to approve the homosexual/transgender movement in his country. The more conservative candidate, George-Nicolae Simion, lost the election in a vote of 54% to 46%. Romania is the second largest Eastern European country by population.  The mainstream media is interpreting this election as an international rejection of the Trump agenda.  The back story is that Călin Georgescu, the conservative in the first round of the Romanian presidential election last December, garnered the most votes among the six presidential candidates at that time. After his opponents claimed that Russia had influenced the election through TikTok accounts, Romanian government officials detained Georgescu, canceled that election, and re-set it for May 18th.  Tens of thousands of Romanians protested in the streets back in March. At the time, Elon Musk said, “They just arrested the person who won the most votes in the Romanian presidential election. This is messed up.” Most and least benevolent countries According to this year's Gallup World Happiness Report, the most benevolent countries in the world, judged by donations and volunteer hours, are Indonesia, the United States, Kenya, Gambia, United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Canada, and New Zealand. The least benevolent countries are Afghanistan, Yemen, Egypt, Jordan, and Morocco.  Biden announces advanced prostate cancer Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an "aggressive form" of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, reports CBS News. On Sunday, President Trump posted on social media that he and First Lady Melania Trump are "saddened to hear about Joe Biden's recent medical diagnosis." Appearing on MSNBC's “Morning Joe” on Monday, former Obama health advisor Dr. Zeke Emanuel said the cancer is so advanced, he has had it for many years. SCARBOROUGH: “Doesn't it take some time for prostate cancer to develop to a point where it would spread to the bones?” EMANUEL: “He's had this for many years, maybe even a decade, growing there and spreading.” Dr. Emanuel explained how serious Biden's prostate cancer truly is. EMANUEL: “That Gleason score, that score is from 2 up to 10, and he's at a 9. That means that the cancer doesn't look normal. It looks very abnormal.” Appearing on Fox News with Jesse Waters, talk show host Hugh Hewitt was incredulous. HEWITT: “This is the fourth time, in a little over 100 years, that a Democratic president -- Woodrow Wilson, FDR, John F. Kennedy and now Joe Biden, have hidden crucial details about their health as Commander-in-Chief from the American people. Ronald Reagan did not do that. “And it just astonishes me that in a free republic, we have to worry about our leaders telling us whether they're healthy or not.” Supremes allows Trump to revoke protection for thousands of illegal Venezuelans On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling allowing the Trump administration to deport 350,000 Venezuelans who are presently living in the U.S. on what they call a “humanitarian parole,” reports NBC News. Christian camp sues over foolish transgender mandates The State of Colorado is threatening to shut down a Christian Camp called Idrahaje -- short for “I'd Rather Have Jesus.” The Colorado Department of Early Childhood has refused to grant the camp a religious exemption concerning its transgender policies. This would require the camp to allow boys, pretending to be girls, to sleep, shower, and dress with female campers. The camp has sued the state, with representation from Alliance Defending Freedom. The camp disciples 2,500 to 3,000 students each year with the mission to “win souls to Jesus Christ through the spreading of the Gospel.”  Camp Idrahaje has complied with all regulations until this year when the Colorado government officials released new gender identity rules that became effective on February 14, 2025. 96% of atheists embrace homosexual/transgender agenda The most likely group in America to support the homosexual/transgender agenda are atheists with 96% professing support.  By contrast, 70% of white Evangelical Protestants oppose the lifestyle. Psalm 14:1 describes the atheist this way: "The fool has said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works.” Mother loses right to disciple daughter Liberty Counsel is defending a mother in the state of Maine who has lost the right to guide the religious upbringing of her 11-year-old girl in a custody case.  This includes taking her daughter to Calvary Chapel services on Sunday.   A state district judge has ruled against the mother, citing “The ‘fear mongering,' paranoia, and anxiety taught by Calvary Chapel has, more likely than not, already had an impact on [the daughter's] childhood development.”   Expert testimony concluded that Calvary Chapel is a cult, the church's pastor a “charismatic” speaker, who spoke “authoritatively” in his messages, and that he asserted his messages were objective truth.   Liberty Counsel is appealing the case to the Maine Supreme Court. They still persecute people who preach about Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 2:14-16 says, “For you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, just as they did from the Judeans, who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God and are contrary to all men, forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, so as always to fill up the measure of their sins; but wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.” Housing prices sag Since June 2022, housing prices are sagging in some metro areas around the U.S. — 22.8% in the Austin market, 9.9% in the Phoenix market, 9.2% in the San Francisco market, 9.1% in the San Antonio Market, 7.3% in the Denver market, and 6.7% in the Dallas Market. The Consumer Price Index has also risen about 10% over that period of time. Moody's downgraded America's financial rating And finally, in a year-over-year comparison, the U.S. government is still breaking records for fiscal expenditures running 10% over Fiscal Year 2024. Moody's has downgraded the U.S. as a long-term issuer of bonds by one notch, ending a perfect rating for America over the last 108 years.  No longer does the U.S, government get a Aaa rating, the highest level available. Now, it's an Aa1. Moody's noted that the downgrade "reflects the increase over more than a decade in government debt and interest payment ratios to levels that are significantly higher than similarly rated sovereigns.” The rating organization added that: “Successive U.S. administrations and Congress have failed to agree on measures to reverse the trend of large annual fiscal deficits and growing interest costs.”   Another independent rating service, named Fitch, downgraded the United States in 2023.  Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, May 20th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. There are some significant differences between this election and the last presidential election of 2020. While President Trump managed to secure more of the minority vote this time, the overall influence of evangelicals has dropped off by roughly 5 percent since 2020. It is only by the mercy of God that Jezebel lost. But what do the most recent election trends, especially around initiatives concerning pro-life issues, reveal about the hearts of Americans? Is God giving America another opportunity to repent? Here is another call for the salt to regain its saltiness, a call for true repentance and revival . . . and a call to make America humble again.     This program includes: 1. It's Friday, November 8th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus and Jonathan Clark Nigerian Muslims killed 21 Christians in Benue State On November 1st and 2nd, Fulani Muslim herdsmen killed six Christians in Benue State, Nigeria after slaughtering 15 Christians in a nearby village two days prior, reports Morning Star News. Terwase Avande, a local resident, said they “began shooting at Christian residents.” And Paul Adetsav, a community leader, said, “The Fulani herdsmen keep attacking us almost on a daily basis, killing Christians at will and igniting fire on our houses and places of worship. “Crops we planted on our farms too have been destroyed by the armed herdsmen. Hunger has become an epidemic, killing us and our children since we have nothing to eat.” More than 400,000 members of the community have been displaced as a result of incessant attacks. According to Open Doors, Nigeria is the sixth most dangerous country worldwide in which to live as a Christian. Luke gave wise counsel in Acts 14:22. “…remain true to the faith.” Argentina's first Day of Evangelical Protestant Churches Argentina celebrated its first Day of Evangelical Protestant Churches on October 31 of this year. The country passed a law back in April to commemorate the day in memory of when Martin Luther published the 95 theses, sparking the Protestant Reformation. Fifteen percent of Argentina's population is Evangelical, numbering six million. Pastor Christian Hooft, the president of the Christian Alliance of Evangelical Churches of the Argentine Republic, said, “We celebrate the 5 solas of the monk Martin Luther: ‘Christ Alone, Scripture Alone, Grace Alone, Faith Alone, and Glory be to God Alone,' which were an emblem that remained and strongly influenced culture, knowledge, and science.” Joe Scarborough hypocritically chastises the Democratic Party Joe Scarborough, host of MSNBC's Morning Joe, spent much of the first hour of November 6th pontificating about where the Democrats went wrong. His focus was not their tactical moves, but their broader failure to understand and connect with the American people regarding their concerns, reports Newsbusters. SCARBOROUGH: “So, it's time for the Democrats to look in the mirror and figure out exactly what went wrong.” However, Scarborough —a Democrat flunky himself — has personified the very problems of which he complains. SCARBOROUGH: “There was some reluctance to talk about the things that were concerning Americans that really mattered this year — illegal immigration, the mass border crossings. That was something that concerned Hispanic voters. It's something that concerned Black voters, something that concerned all voters. “We've been talking about the transgender ad. Thirty thousand times it ran over $30 million. This is going to be a problem in the three states that you need. And yet, they just didn't respond to it because they were afraid to respond to it because it might offend some small subset of their base. “They have lost working-class America. The question is, How long until they understand that this isn't just about tax cuts? This isn't just about economics. This is about cultural markers that matter greatly in these people's lives.” Joe Scarborough sounds like the late Rush Limbaugh, doesn't he? But Mark Finkelstein of Newsbusters wrote, “There has been no show more slavishly devoted to parroting Democratic themes than Morning Joe. There's a reason why Joe Biden made Morning Joe his favorite show, calling on his staff to watch it, and becoming phone buddies with Scarborough. “And when others were calling out Biden's undeniable decline, it was Morning Joe which claimed that Ol' Joe was ‘sharp as a tack.'"  White House Press Secretary blames bad economy on COVID pandemic Democrats are trying to figure out how President-elect Donald Trump won in a landslide. On November 7th, Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House Press Secretary, didn't blame the bad economy on the inflationary policies of Biden-Harris who printed up money to give away in stimulus checks. Instead, she blamed the bad economy on the COVID pandemic. JEAN-PIERRE: “One of the things that occurred was the pandemic. It caused disruption. It caused the supply chain to be disrupted, and caused the economy to be turned upside down. We are, in fact, leading the world on the economy. “That doesn't stop the fact that there has been a political toll for incumbents. That is something that I'm telling you as a data point to share because we know that you guys would have questions.” Late-night comedians meltdown over Trump win The late night comedians, who are by and large more committed to the Democratic Party than making America laugh, sounded as though they were attending the funeral of America. In fact, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel actually broke down in tears over Trump's victory. Listen. KIMMEL: “Let's be honest, it was a terrible night last night. It was a terrible night for women, for children, for the hundreds of thousands of hard-working immigrants who make this country go, for health care, for our climate. It was a terrible night for poor people, for our allies in Ukraine, for NATO. I mean, I guess it was a bad night for everyone who voted for him, too. You just don't realize it yet.” And CBS's Steven Colbert tried to comfort his liberal audience. COLBERT: “How are you doing? If you watch the show regularly, I'm guessing you're not doing great. Yeah. Me neither. “It happened again. And in this democracy, the majority has spoken. They said they don't care that much about democracy. The first time Donald Trump was elected, he started as a joke and ended as a tragedy. This time, he starts as a tragedy. Who knows what he'll end as.” Republicans flip another U.S. Senate seat Republican David McCormick has won Pennsylvania's pivotal U.S. Senate seat, as the former CEO of the world's largest hedge fund beat three-term Democratic Senator Bob Casey, reports the Associated Press. Republicans have now flipped four seats and have 53 Senate seats compared to 45 for Democrats. Nevada and Arizona are still counting ballots. U.S. House still up for grabs The U.S. House is still up for grabs, reports Fox News. Republicans have 210 seats. Democrats have 198. 218 seats are needed for the majority. 83-year-old reunited with long-lost college ring And finally, 47 years ago, Frederick Morgan Perigo, a Canadian professor, lost his gold and ruby class ring while splashing around in Barbados with his son. When he went to protect his son from a big wave, the boy accidentally pulled off his father's MacMaster University class ring as he grabbed his hand. Providentially, Alex Davis, a fellow MacMaster University graduate and a professional freediver, happened to vacation in the same spot in the Barbados. He found Perigo's ring with the help of an underwater metal detector, reports The Daily News. After discovering the year 1965 and the initials “FMP” inscribed on the ring, it was a cinch to reunite it with its rightful owner through the alumni association. Reached by email, Perigo wrote, “This is unbelievable news!” Luke 12:7 reveals that God cares about even the smallest detail since He knows the number of hairs on our head. It's Monday, July 22nd, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian Fulani Muslims killed 12 Christians Tragedy struck in Nigeria on Sunday, July 14th as Fulani Muslim terrorists continued their reign of terror in a Christian community in the Benue State, murdering 12 people and wounding another 11, reports TruthNigeria.com. Andy Itodo, an eyewitness, said, “The terrorists, up to 20 in number, appeared from the forests of Egwuma on motorbikes, wielding automatic rifles, and started shooting indiscriminately. The carnage lasted for over 1 hour and 30 minutes. He added, “The worst part was that we were in our churches when the terrorists attacked us. We were not prepared.” Gideon Ehoda, another eyewitness, said, “They showed no mercy as they gunned down seven of our youths before they retreated to the bush.” Mary Otache, a 36-year-old eyewitness, said, “Even as they were shooting into the churches and people were running away, they were chanting Allahu Akbar and speaking in Fulani.” Augustus Adaji, age 28, said, “When they thought they had gotten the upper hand, we shot at them, and I know that I personally hit two of the terrorists. My colleagues shot many. Initially, they tried to resist us, but they broke up, and some fled on foot, leaving their bikes and guns.” Please pray that Amos 5:24 would come true in Nigeria. “Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” According to Open Doors, Nigeria is the sixth most dangerous country worldwide in which to live for Christians. Biden withdraws and endorses Kamala Harris After nearly 31 House Democrats and five Democratic senators publicly called on President Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race, he withdrew on Sunday. In an open letter addressed to “My Fellow Americans,” he wrote, “While it has been my intention to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interest of the party and my country to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.” In a subsequent post, President Biden wrote, “Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala [Harris] to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it's time to come together and beat Trump. Let's do this.” Democrat senator cried over Biden's withdrawal Appearing on CBS News, Democratic Senator Chris Coons of Delaware – the co-chair of the Biden for President campaign, cried about Biden's withdrawal from the presidential race. COONS: “Joe Biden is grounded. He's grounded in his faith, in his family, and in our state. (Coons gets choked up and pauses) Excuse me. I'm sorry. This was a very difficult decision. And one that I think reflects the very best of who Joe Biden is. Someone who, as you put it Bob, comes home -- comes home because it's where his strength is. His strength is in his family. His strength is in our community. His strength is in his faith.” Democrat elite pushed Biden out Appearing with talk show host Charlie Kirk on Sunday,  "Just The News" founder John Solomon took issue with how the Democrat elite powerbrokers ran roughshod over the 14.5 million Democrat primary voters who selected Joe Biden to be the party's presidential nominee. SOLOMON: “We're back to the days of Tammany Hall. The Democrats no longer regard the 14.5 million people that voted for Joe Biden -- the power brokers, the Barack Obamas and the Nancy Pelosis and Chuck Schumers. They've decided who's going to be their nominee by forcing Joe Biden out. That is not going to play well in a party that often claims that ‘democracy' is being ruined. Well, they may have just contributed to that.” Kamala Harris funded bail for BLM rioters, a failure as Border Czar Solomon responded to the coronation of Vice President Kamala Harris as the replacement presidential nominee, saying she is further left politically than Biden. SOLOMON: “As for Kamala Harris, if she is the ‘Anointed One,' because it saves them $200 million in the bank that they don't have to fundraise, there is a lot of research that the American people need to become familiar with, with Kamala Harris. “What she did in California, the fact that her [Political Action Committee] bailed out [Black Lives Matter] rioters from prison in jail, the fact that she had only one job in the Biden administration to secure the border, and she failed miserably at that. It's going to be very easy to link Kamala Harris to all of the deaths, all of the mayhem, all of the frustration that Americans have with the border because that was her one job that Joe Biden gave her. “And Biden endorsed her today quickly, because he knew that there is not unanimity in the party for her being the nominee. So, he tried to force that unanimity with his endorsement.” Trump campaign released anti-Kamala Harris ad The Trump campaign released this anti-Kamala Harris ad. NARRATOR: “Kamala was in on it. She covered up Joe's obvious mental decline.” HARRIS: “Our president is in good shape, in good health, tireless, vibrant, and I have no doubt about the strength. of the work that we have done.” NARRATOR: “But Kamala knew Joe couldn't do the job. So, she did it. Look what she got done: a border invasion, runaway inflation, the American Dream dead. They created this mess. They know Kamala owns this failed record." Trump: “How did somebody get on that roof?” In their first joint interview, Donald Trump and his VP pick, Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio, talked to FOX News host Jesse Watters about the security breach that led to the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania. WATERS:  “They were monitoring this guy for an hour beforehand.” TRUMP: “Yeah.” WATTERS: “No one told you not to take the stage?” TRUMP: “No, nobody mentioned it. Nobody said there was a problem. I would have waited for 15 [minutes]. They could have said, ‘Let's wait for 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 5 minutes, something.  I think that was a mistake. “How did somebody get on that roof? And why wasn't he reported? Because people saw that he was on the roof. I mean you had Trumpers screaming, the woman in the red shirt, she was screaming, ‘There's a man on the roof!' And then other people, ‘There's is a man on the roof who's got a gun!' And that was quite a bit before I walked onto the stage. So, you would have thought somebody would have done something about it.” Pro-abort Democrat Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee died  Democrat Representative Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas, has died at the age of 74 after a battle with pancreatic cancer, reports NBC News. Born in Queens, New York, she first won election to Congress from Houston, Texas in 1995.  She was known for her rabid support of abortion. Most recently, Congresswoman Lee: opposed the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act to protect babies who are born alive after a botched abortion. opposed Rep. Chip Roy's amendment that prohibited Department of Defense funding for soldiers to travel to get an abortion. and opposed a resolution that condemned the violent attacks on pro-life groups. The life of the late Congresswoman Lee embodied Isaiah 59:7. It says, “Their feet rush into sin; they are swift to shed innocent blood. They pursue evil schemes; acts of violence mark their ways.” Global computer systems outage caused chaos here in America And finally, services from airlines to healthcare, shipping and finance were coming back online on Friday after a mistake in a security software update sparked hours-long global computer systems outages, reports Reuters. The incident highlighted the vulnerability of the world's interconnected technologies. More than 2,200 flights were canceled across the U.S., with nearly 7,000 delayed, as of 1:23 pm ET on Friday, according to data tracker FlightAware. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 377 points, the S&P 500 lost 39 points, and the Nasdaq Composite lost 144 points. George Kurtz, the founder and CEO of the cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike, explained on NBC's "Today Show" how their company took down millions of computers --including air travel, banks, and more -- around the world with a single faulty software update. KURTZ: “The system was sent an update. That update had a software bug in it and caused an issue with the Microsoft operating system.” Businesses face questions about how to avoid future blackouts triggered by technology meant to safeguard their systems. It's Monday, April 29th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian Muslims kill 3 Christians in Benue State Fulani Muslim herdsmen killed three Christians last week in Benue State, Nigeria, reports Morning Star News. Alfred Omakwu, a local city councilman, said the herdsmen killed one Christian on April 20th in Otukpo County, after killing two other believers on April 18th in the Entepka District. Andrew Mamedu, country director of Action Aid, an international humanitarian organization, said that the incessant attacks on Christians in Benue State, Nigeria have displaced 1.4 million people. He said, “With what is happening in Benue state, people may not have villages to retire to when they grow old. If we fail to act now, I am afraid that by 2030 we would have lost a generation, and it may take 50 years to recover from it.” According to Open Doors, Nigeria is the sixth most dangerous country worldwide in which to be a Christian. Stabbed Orthodox bishop denounces Australian censorship Assyrian Orthodox Bishop Mar Emmanuel,  who was stabbed whle preaching on April 15th in Sydney Australia by a 15-year-old Muslim young man who yelled “Allah Akbar,” has joined his voice with Elon Musk in demanding that the video of the attack be kept online, reports LifeSiteNews.com. On April 22, an Australian federal court ordered X, formerly Twitter, to remove all posts that contained the viral video of the Islamic attack on the Orthodox bishop, granting the request of Australia eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant, who had demanded that the video be taken down worldwide. On Wednesday, the injunction against showing the video was extended by Justice Geoffrey Kennett until May 10 when a final hearing will be held to determine whether the content can be prohibited permanently worldwide. Musk has taken issue with the injunction, although following it temporarily. According to the tech giant, the Australian regulator had demanded that X “globally withhold these posts or face a daily fine of $785,000.” On Tuesday, Musk addressed the overreach of the Australian government and claims that the video was somehow “misinformation.”   He said, “The Australian people want the truth.  X is the only one standing up for their rights. Our concern is that if ANY country is allowed to censor content for ALL countries, which is what the Australian ‘eSafety Commissar' is demanding, then what is to stop any country from controlling the entire internet? We have already censored the content in question for Australia, pending legal appeal, and it is stored only on servers in the USA.” Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski said he “stands united” with Musk and X in the fight against the Australian censorship of the video. Biden poked fun at Trump Appearing at the White House Correspondents' Dinner at the Washington Hilton on Saturday, President Joe Biden addressed his age and made Donald Trump, his Republican presidential opponent, the target of a number of his jokes, reports CNN. BIDEN: “The 2024 election is in full swing. And yes, age is an issue. I'm a grown man running against the six-year-old. “I really feel great. I'm campaigning all over the country, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina. I've always done well in the original 13 colonies. “Age is the only thing we have in common. My Vice President actually endorses me.” (cheers) Saturday Night Live comedian roasted Biden and media Colin Jost, the co-host of “Weekend Update” on NBC's Saturday Night Live and the headliner for the event, took aim at President Biden in a couple of his jokes. JOST:  “I was excited to be up here on stage with President Biden tonight, mostly to see if I could figure out where Obama was pulling the strings from.  (laughter) “I have to admit it's not easy following President Biden. I mean, it's not always easy following what he's saying, like. (laughter) “My Weekend Update co-anchor, Michael Che, was going to join me here tonight. But, in solidarity with President Biden, I decided to lose all my Black support.” (laughs and jeers) And Jost made fun of the White House correspondents, most of whom seem more committed to liberal ideology than a balanced pursuit of the truth. JOST: “Like many of you here tonight, I pretend to do news on TV.” (laughter and jeers) Pro-Life Democrat runs ‘graphic' abortion ad during ‘Today' show Last Wednesday, a pro-life Democrat running for president aired an eye-opening ad on national television exposing NBC's “Today” show viewers to the horrors of late-term abortion. Terrisa Bukovinac, president and founder of Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising, confirmed Wednesday via X that her ad, which included disturbing footage of late-term aborted infants, aired on NBC, reaching seven million people. (You can see it for yourself through a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com.) Listen to the audio. BUKOVINAC: “I'm a secular progressive activist. Last year, I recovered the remains of these five babies from an all-term abortion center in Washington, DC. These are the faces of a genocide supported by Joe Biden and my own Democratic Party. “We can provide for the working class and resist this extremism. I am challenging you to never vote for a pro-choice Democrat again. I'm Terrisa Bukovinac, pro-life Democrat running for President of the United States. And I approved this message.” Psalm 127:3 says, “Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from Him.” Bukovanic, a self-described atheist, told The Christian Post that she never intended to win the Democratic presidential nomination. Rather, she launched her long-shot bid so she would have a platform to expose the evils of abortion to her fellow liberals. Comedian Russel Brand got baptized And finally, actor and comedian Russell Brand announced on April 26th that he planned to get baptized as a Christian on April 29th, reports Fox News Digital. BRAND: “This Sunday, I'm taking the plunge. I'm getting baptized, an opportunity to leave the past behind and be reborn in Christ's name, like it says in Galatians. “I know a lot of people are sort of cynical about the increasing interest in Christianity, and the return to God. But, to me, it's obvious. As meaning deteriorates in the modern world, as our value systems and institutions crumble, all of us become increasingly aware that there is this eerily familiar awakening and beckoning figure that we've all known all of our lives. … For me, it's very exciting.” Galatians 3:26 says, “So, in Christ Jesus, you are all children of God through faith.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Monday, April 29th in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Monday, November 6th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian Muslims killed 17 Christians in Benue State On Sunday, October 29th, Fulani Muslim herdsmen and other terrorists killed six Christians in Benue State, Nigeria, following the slaughter of 10 others earlier last month, reports Morning Star News. In addition, another Christian in Benue State, 80-year-old Washima Erukaa, was killed after being kidnapped on September 23rd. A relative said, “His captors had demanded that we pay a ransom of $6,340, but we were not able to raise the money.”  So, the Muslim terrorists killed him on October 23rd. Please pray that God would comfort the families who are grieving. Nigeria is the sixth most dangerous nation worldwide for Christians Turkey withdraws ambassador from Israel, breaks off ties As the death toll among Palestinian civilians has soared in the war between Israel and Hamas, the Muslim terrorists, Turkish President Recep Erdoğan said Saturday that he was recalling its ambassador to Israel and breaking off contacts with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in protest at the bloodshed in Gaza, reports AFP. The Muslim leader announced the decisions on the eve of what promises to be a difficult visit to Turkey by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Turkey, a Palestinian ally, had been mending torn relations with Israel until last month's start of the Israel-Hamas war. Iranian Muslims recruiting suicide bombers to hit Israel A hard-line Iranian group has been actively recruiting potential suicide bombers for operations in Israel, reports 24/7 News Around the World. The group responsible for this recruitment drive, Hezbollah, different from the Lebanese militant group with the same name, has initiated a campaign in the southeastern Iranian city of Mashhad, a significant place in Shia Islam. Posters featuring calls for 'martyrdom' have appeared on the streets of Mashhad, imploring residents to submit their personal details for consideration. These posters declare, “It's time for Jihad,” as they seek people to join a “special battalion of martyr seekers for Palestine.” Int'l House of Prayer Founder Mike Bickle accused of sexual abuse The Roys Report revealed that Mike Bickle, founder of the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, Missouri, is facing allegations of clergy sexual abuse “spanning several decades,” according to an October 28th statement from the ministry's leaders. Titus 1:6a declares, “An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife.” Stuart Greaves, the Executive Director of the International House of Prayer, read an announcement during the 11 a.m. service at the Forerunner Church in Grandview, Missouri. GREAVES: “We are heartbroken to share that we recently became aware of serious allegations of sexual immorality directed against Mike Bickle. Our leadership team takes these allegations very seriously. And we are laboring for truth, light, redemption and righteousness.” Mike Bickle has led the House of Prayer since 1999. It is a 24/7 charismatic, prayer ministry with about 2,500 full-time staff, students, and interns, which attracts people from around the world. Ohio Catholic churches vandalized over pro-life convictions ahead of Nov. 7th vote Just days ahead of a statewide vote on whether to enshrine abortion into the Ohio Constitution, vandalism is reportedly on the rise against Catholic churches in the Buckeye State because of their outspokenness against the pro-abortion constitutional amendment, reports LifeSiteNews.com. According to the Ohio Attorney General's Office, the Issue 1 amendment would go far beyond even Roe v. Wade.  It would block prohibitions on partial-birth and dismemberment abortions, allow abortionists to target disabled babies, and end parental consent requirements for abortion. Plus, if Issue 1 passes tomorrow in Ohio, it would empower minors to make their own decisions about contraception, sterilization, and so-called “gender transition.” 10-year-old quadruple amputee to climb mountain to raise money And finally, a 10-year-old quadruple amputee is going to attempt to summit a 656-foot mountain to raise money for other children with disabilities, reports Good News Network. The climber, Luke Mortimer, is determined to summit Embsay Crag, in North Yorkshire, England which he can see from his rural home. The kind-hearted youngster has dubbed the peak his ‘Everest,' and is undertaking the challenge as an attempt to “return the favor” to charities which have helped him. Luke was just seven years old when he contracted the severe bacterial infections meningococcal meningitis and septicemia. Although he survived the deadly illnesses, he lost all four of his limbs and needed 23 painful surgeries over a ten-week period to replace missing skin and address his wounds. Charities and fundraisers set up in the wake of Luke's amputations managed $18,000 worth of donations from an army of well-wishers, allowing him to get his prosthetics. During the two-mile journey to the top of the summit, Luke will be wearing a set of shortened knee-length prosthetics called ‘stubbies' for the climb. Here at The Worldview we salute Luke Mortimer and pray that he successfully completes his mountainous journey and that the people of Britain would be generous as they bless other children who face amputations. By Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com) Muslim Nigerians killed 100 Christians on Easter Sunday Over the Easter weekend, 100 Nigerian Christians were murdered in Benue State and 1,500 additional believers were displaced, reports EquippingThePersecuted.org. Fifty others were hospitalized after Islamic terrorists, armed with assault rifles, opened fire at 200 refugees who were camping in a primary school 15 miles northwest of Makurdi, the state capital. Mr. Tarbo David, a resident who witnessed the attack, said they drove in on motorcycles, overpowered the six police officers, and walked from classroom to classroom, shooting the doors open, and then slaughtering the victims in their sleep with machetes and swords. Those who struggled or sought to escape were shot. Eight other residents in the surrounding area were also killed. Revelation 6:9-10 says, “When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.  They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until You judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” Equipping the Persecuted is raising $250,000 to help the wounded, the sick, and the displaced. These funds will go towards providing proper shelter, food, sleeping mats, and medicine. You can make a donation through a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com. Robert F. Kennedy prepares presidential run Democrat Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is running for president, ready to challenge Joe Biden for the nomination in 2024, reports ABC News. On Wednesday, Kennedy filed a statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission. The son of Senator Robert Kennedy, who was assassinated on June 6, 1968, he has risen to prominence during the COVID-19 pandemic for his books The Real Anthony Fauci, A Letter to Liberals: Censorship and COVID, and The Wuhan Cover-Up: How U.S. Health Officials Conspired with the Chinese Military to Hide the Origins of COVID-19. Kennedy, who founded Children's Health Defense, had been long involved in the anti-vaccine movement. KENNEDY: “The generation of American children, born after 1990, are arguably the sickest generation in the history of our country with chronic ailments and pediatric rates of some chronic conditions that are the highest in the world. For example, according to CDC, one in every six American children has been diagnosed with a developmental disability such as autism, ADD, ADHD, or learning disabilities. And, according to HHS, and astonishing 54% of American children has a chronic disease like rheumatoid arthritis or juvenile diabetes. “Our federal agencies are not asking an essential question, ‘What is debilitating America's children?' We need to know that answer and we need to stop these exposures to our children today! “The forces that I'm up against are forces that have been able to compromise every major institution in our democracy. And the people who stand up against them get crushed. But I know how to fight them because I've spent a lifetime fighting big shots and fighting bullies. And that's who they are. And that's who we're dealing with today, people who have that arrogance of power, people who believe that they can get away with anything, including destroying the lives of our children.” No doubt Kennedy will give President Biden a run for his money on both the COVID vaccine and the shutdowns. Man, pretending to be a woman, killed cab driver in Portland On Easter Sunday, a gender-confused man reportedly stabbed a taxi driver to death in Portland, Oregon, reports LifeSiteNews.  Moses Jacob Lopez, a man who pretends to be a woman, has been charged with murder and unlawful use of a weapon for allegedly killing a 43-year-old Radio Cab driver named Reese Lawhon, according to the Portland Police Bureau.   A video showed the 30-year-old Lopez getting in the cab while wearing “a tiara and women's clothing.” Church purchased & forgave $3 million in medical debt for residents And finally, more than 3,000 Davidson County, North Carolina residents no longer have to worry about being hassled by debt collectors after a local church recently purchased, and forgave, almost $3 million in their medical bills through the Debt Jubilee Project, reports the Lexington Dispatch. Rev. John Jackman of Trinity Moravian Church in Winston-Salem wants to help families who were working paycheck-to-paycheck before being driven into poverty by an illness or an accident. In the past three months, the campaign raised $15,048 in cash, which was used to purchase nearly $3.3 million in medical debts in Davidson, Davie and Yadkin counties in North Carolina. Each person whose debt was purchased and forgiven received an official letter that their debt was wiped away. Colossians 2:14 says, God has “forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This He set aside, nailing it to the cross.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Friday, April 14th in the year of our Lord 2023. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. Archbishop José Gomez presided over the funeral Mass, held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles. Speaking briefly at the conclusion of the liturgy, Gomez said “Bishop Dave,” as O'Connell was affectionately known, would be sorely missed, but “we know that he's in heaven.” O'Connell, 69, a popular Irish-born priest who worked on myriad social causes in South LA for the past 45 years, died February 18 after being shot multiple times in his Hacienda Heights home, according to District Attorney George Gascón. Carlos Medina, the husband of O'Connell's housekeeper, has admitted to murdering the bishop, Gascón said in a February 22 press conference. I'm Adam McManus.  (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson 5,500 Christian Nigerians need your help! 5,500 Christians in Nigeria need your help. In a recent Generations interview with Kevin Swanson, Judd Saul with Equipping the Persecuted commented on the desperate need to relocate refugees running from imminent harm at the hands of radical Muslims.  Listen. SAUL: “What's going on is a systematic slaughter and a systematic shift of trying to shove Christians out of their homeland, out of their territory. Muslims coming in from the north, and they're also coming in from the east. They're pushing Christians out of their villages, out of their territory and taking it over either demographically, and by violence. “The government there isn't really solving the problem. The government is so corrupt. All the politicians are looking out for their self-interest. They're not doing the basic function of what government is for -- to protect its citizens, punish evil doers. “You can actually pinpoint the rise of persecution to when the Arab Spring started underneath Obama in destabilizing the Middle East that empowered radical Islam. They've been on a killing spree against Christians ever since.”    The conditions are the worst of the worst for these Christians in the Benue State of Nigeria. Over 600 people lost their lives during the last rainy season, and conditions have not improved.  Generations and The Worldview are committed to raising $20,000 for the Christians to meet the $120,000 goal. Thus far, thanks to the generosity of some of our listeners, we have raised $12,000!   If you haven't made a donation yet, go to EquippingThePersecuted.org/donate to help the least of these Jesus' brothers and sisters. That's EquippingThePersecuted.org/donate. Biden in Ukraine On the first year anniversary of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, President Joe Biden paid a visit to Ukraine. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan called the visit an affirmation of U.S. support for Ukraine in the war.   The world continues taking sides in the Ukrainian-Russian conflict.  Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida just announced $5.5 billion of additional aid for Ukraine. The United States has thus far provided or promised $110 billion, of which about half is military aid. Other countries have provided $41 billion in aid for the military conflict.   Russia's military budget for 2023 is estimated at $84 billion, while Ukraine's military budget has hovered around $5-$6 billion for the last few years.  Iran's nuclear capability surges Here's an update on Iran's nuclear capability. Beginning in 2021, Iran began developing highly enriched uranium — now, at least 55 kilograms of 60% uranium, as well as some uranium purified to 84%. That's just a few percentage points below the 90% level necessary to create nuclear weapons, reports Bloomberg.  Ohio train derailment's ongoing threat to wildlife and humans In some respects, the air hasn't cleared completely on the train derailment in east Palestine, Ohio, involving 20 train cars of hazardous materials.   Thousands of fish have died in nearby streams.  Some residents have reported headaches and rashes. A similar accident occurred ten years ago in Paulsboro, New Jersey with the same chemical -- a single train car containing 23,000 gallons of vinyl chloride. At the time, several hundred residents complained of headaches, nose and throat irritation, coughing, respiratory issues, dizziness, and nausea. Personhood rights extend to unborn baby killed in pregnant mom's murder Last Tuesday, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court handed down an important ruling that affirms the personhood of an unborn baby who is killed as a result of homicide inflicted on the child's mother, reports The Christian Post. The opinion noted that “the defendant committed an act of violence against a woman who was nine months pregnant. By ending the mother's life, he destroyed the viable fetus through the cessation of life-sustaining maternal blood flow.” Exodus 21:22-23 also affirms the sanctity of unborn life. It says, “If men fight, and hurt a woman with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly as the woman's husband imposes on him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. But if any harm follows, then you shall give life for life.” Republicans want to abolish Department of Education Republicans in the U.S. House have set out to abolish the U.S. Department of Education, reports Business Insider.    Republican Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky has fronted a one-sentence bill calling for the termination of The Department of Education on December 31, 2023. Sixteen of his colleagues have signed on to the bill. Congressman Massie first attempted the bill in 2021.  Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes' drunken behavior Fox News and several other news outlets condemned quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his Kansas City Chiefs teammates for their public drunkenness upon their celebrations for winning the Super Bowl.   World Magazine reported that both Super Bowl quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts, are professing Christians.  Jane Fonda wants no regrets And finally, Jane Fonda, the 84-year-old actress, admitted to CNN's Chris Wallace that she has regrets about life, and she wants to “clear it all up” before she dies.   Listen. FONDA: “What I'm really scared of is getting to the end of life with a lot of regrets when there's no time to do anything about it. I'm trying to get it all done (laughs) before I come to the end.” WALLACE: “But do you have regrets?” FONDA: “I was not the kind of mother that I wished that I had been to my children. I just didn't know how to do it. I have an organization in Georgia that deals with adolescents. I've studied parenting. I know what it's supposed to be now. I didn't know then. So, I'm trying to show up now.” There's only one way to “clear it all up.”  “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9) Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, February 21st, in the year of our Lord 2023. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. A daily news briefing from Catholic News Agency, powered by artificial intelligence. Ask your smart speaker to play “Catholic News,” or listen every morning wherever you get podcasts. www.catholicnewsagency.com - At least 11 people, most of them Catholics, were killed January 19 when alleged Fulani herdsmen attacked a village near a refugee camp in Nigeria's Makurdi Diocese, a diocesan official has reported. In an interview with ACI Africa, CNA's sister news partner, Father Moses Aondover Iorapuu, the diocese's vicar general, recounted the “horrifying” persecution that Catholics were subjected to during the attack. “The images of the attack are horrifying, and I keep saying that not even ISIS is capable of such brutality,” he said. “After killing, these guys decapitated some and took the parts away as proof to whoever is the sponsor.” Aondover said the attacks took place Thursday about 9 p.m. in a village near Makurdi, the Benue State capital, where there is a displaced persons camp. Nigeria has been experiencing insecurity since 2009 when Boko Haram's insurgency began with the aim of turning the country into an Islamic state. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/253420/priest-describes-horrifying-new-attack-on-catholics-in-nigeria-that-leaves-at-least-11-dead As tens of thousands of pro-life activists marched to the Supreme Court on Friday for the annual March for Life, President Joe Biden issued a pro-abortion proclamation to commemorate the anniversary of the now-obsolete Roe v Wade decision. The president officially recognized January 22 as the 50th anniversary of Roe v Wade, saying the Supreme Court “got Roe right 50 years ago.” The decision, which was handed down on January 22, 1973, proclaimed abortion to be a constitutional right and barred states from enforcing most abortion restrictions. On June 24, the US Supreme Court fully reversed that decision and ruled that the constitution does not protect a right to have an abortion, returning the issue of abortion to the states to regulate as they see fit. Although Biden is the nation's second Catholic president, his pro-abortion position is directly at odds with Church teaching. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/253421/biden-commemorates-abortion-as-pro-lifers-march-in-washington Pope Francis formally conferred the ministries of lector and catechist upon four men and six women from the Philippines, Mexico, Congo, Italy, and the UK on Sunday at a Mass in Saint Peter's Basilica. The ministries themselves have also been shaped by Pope Francis in recent years. The pope changed Church law in January 2021 so that women could be formally instituted to the lay ministries of lector and acolyte. Pope Francis established the ministry of catechist as an instituted, vocational service within the Catholic Church in May 2021. The ministry is for laypeople who have a particular call to serve the Catholic Church as a teacher of the faith. The ministry lasts for the entirety of life, regardless of whether the person is actively carrying out that activity during every part of his or her life. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/253425/pope-francis-confers-lay-ministries-upon-ten-people-in-st-peter-s-basilica Today, the Church celebrates Saint Ildephonsus, a seventh-century Archbishop of Toledo, who had a great devotion to the Virgin Mary. According to one account the Blessed Virgin appeared to him in person and presented him with a priestly vestment, to reward him for his zeal in honoring her. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/saint/st-ildephonsus-125 The Church also honors Saint Marianne Cope, a German born ninteenth century sister who served as a teacher and principal in several schools in New York state and established two of the first hospitals in the central New York area: Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Utica and Saint Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/saint/st-marianne-cope-727

A daily news briefing from Catholic News Agency, powered by artificial intelligence. Ask your smart speaker to play “Catholic News,” or listen every morning wherever you get podcasts. www.catholicnewsagency.com - Pope Francis prayed on Sunday that God may “convert the hearts of the violent” after an al-Qaida-affiliated terrorist attack in Somalia. “As we celebrate Christ's victory over evil and death, we pray for the victims of the terrorist attack in Mogadishu that killed more than 100 people, including many children. May God convert the hearts of the violent,” Pope Francis said on October 30. Somalia's President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud reported that at least 100 people were killed and nearly 300 other people were wounded by two car bombings in the country's capital on Saturday. Al-Shabab, a Somali-based branch of al-Qaida, claimed responsibility for the attack, according to the Associated Press. The extremist group said that it targeted the country's education ministry, calling it an “enemy” that is “committed to removing Somali children from the Islamic faith.” https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/252689/pope-francis-prays-for-victims-of-deadly-islamic-terrorist-attack-in-somalia Catholic bishops in South Korea have offered condolences to the bereaved families of the more than 150 people killed in a crowd surge during Halloween festivities in Seoul on Saturday night. The South Korean bishops' conference released a statement on October 30 offering prayers for the immediate recovery of the injured and calling on civil authorities to “thoroughly examine” what led to the disaster. The bishops underlined that nothing in society should be put before human life and dignity and asked local authorities to respond accordingly to ensure that a disaster like this is never repeated. Police in Seoul announced on October 31 that they had launched a 475-member task force to investigate how the crowd surge developed. The Associated Press reported that an estimated 100,000 people celebrated in Seoul's Itaewon neighborhood when the crowd surge occurred. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/252690/south-korea-s-catholic-bishops-pray-for-halloween-crowd-surge-victims Details are still emerging after a violent raid by Fulani herdsmen October 19 in Benue State, Central Nigeria, reportedly left dozens of Catholic villagers killed. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/252688/dozens-of-catholic-villagers-reportedly-killed-in-central-nigeria-raid Today the Church celebrates the Vigil of the Solemnity of All Saints, or all Hallows Eve, better known as Halloween. The Church also celebrates Saint Wolfgang of Ratisbon, regarded as one of the greatest German saints of his time. The Benedictine monk and bishop served as a missionary to pagans and a reformer of the Church in southeastern Germany in the 10th century. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/saint/st-wolfgang-bishop-39 The Church also celebrates Saint Foillan, who founded a monastery at Fosses in the Diocese of Liege, France, and served as its abbot. He was a well-loved preacher and spiritual director, successfully evangelizing the people in the area, which grew into the modern town of Le Roeulx, Belgium. He also served as the spiritual director at the house founded by Saint Gertrude. In 655, while traveling on Church business, Saint Foillan was murdered by bandits along with his three companions. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/saint/st-foillan-641
