The story of six entrepreneurs' bold pivot into climate action to spark a global movement investing in real decarbonising solutions. Arthur Auboeuf: Social Stardom to Team for the Planet Arthur Auboeuf was born in a tiny village near Geneva. Whilst a young student, in his spare time, he built an incredible social business with viral humor and music communities online, ultimately reaching over 10 million followers. He sold these ventures young and became part of the entrepreneurial elite of Europe. But despite his monetary and social success, Auboeuf felt increasingly disillusioned as he saw his talents serve fleeting digital addiction rather than lasting impact. Witnessing climate change devastate his childhood ski slopes and forests ignited a deeper purpose, to use his entrepreneurial toolkit not for profit, but for the planet. Team for the Planet: A Business Model to Battle Climate Change Founded in 2019 by Auboeuf and five fellow entrepreneurs, Team for the Planet is a mission-driven company using the power of collective intelligence and capital to detect, fund and scale the world's most impactful decarbonizing innovations. Unlike traditional funds, TFTP is not for profit. Anyone, from students to CEOs, can become a shareholder for just €1, helping to select innovations, assess their global potential, and bring them to market. The goal is to identify tech (or even low/no-tech) solutions that already exist but haven't scaled—and give them the entrepreneurial engine to do so. My guests today also include Emma Scribe, Head of Major Investors, and Geoffrey Crofte, shareholder + evaluator. Crowd-Powered Climate Action What makes Team for the Planet different is its radical openness. With over 128,000 shareholders worldwide, the community isn't just a passive group of donors, it's an army of trained evaluators, investors, and ambassadors. All over the world, from developers to designers, people contribute time, skills, and capital. Together, they've reviewed over 1,600 innovations, leading to investment in 13 climate-tech companies. These solutions range from wave-powered energy to CO₂-to-sand conversion, all aimed at cutting emissions on a global scale. The Climate Dividend: Profit in Planetary Terms Forget financial ROI. TFTP invented the Climate Dividend—a metric that tells shareholders exactly how many tons of CO₂ their investment has avoided or captured. This indicator, developed in partnership with institutions like ADEME and recognised by the UN, enables investors to measure real climate impact rather than hypothetical financial returns. It's become a tool used by over 100 funds to track the environmental performance of their portfolios. Open-Source Innovation, Shared Globally Team for the Planet doesn't just scale green startups—it shares their tech freely. Once a company is funded and functioning, its innovation is made open source, allowing any business to adopt it. In return, those adopters must report usage (to calculate CO₂ impact) and share improvements. This bold model ensures that breakthrough solutions don't stay locked in one market or one monopoly—they ripple out globally for maximum effect. Luxembourg's investment of people and business Though still in early days, Luxembourg is an exciting frontier for TFTP. With only a few hundred shareholders, the country's financial ecosystem, global talent mix, and green ambitions make it a strategic springboard. Local scientists like Thomas Gibon are already involved, and companies like Circu Li-ion have adopted the Climate Dividend metric. In Auboeuf's words, “Luxembourg is a green field” waiting to be cultivated. How You Can Join Whether you're a student, scientist, investor, or want to make a difference, there's a role for you at Team for the Planet. You can invest money, time, or expertise. You can become an evaluator, reader, or ambassador. Or you can simply buy a €1 share and know you're part of something that has already avoided 40,000 tons of CO₂—a figure equal to 40,000 Paris–New York flights. Connect & Learn More

Suzanne Sprague and Virtual Science Teachers - Providing Free Science Learning Resources. This is episode 560 of Teaching Learning Leading K12, an audio podcast. Suzanne is passionate about teaching and firmly believes in the transformative power of education to unlock people's potential.  She has a background teaching in-person high school physics and chemistry and online middle school science.  To make her online teaching more effective and enjoyable for both her and her students, Suzanne developed skills as an online content creator.  When Covid-19 dramatically increased the need for online resources for teachers everywhere, Suzanne used her background in science education and love for online content creation to create and share resources that could be used during distance learning.    Teacher feedback and increased use of the online resources, even after a return to in-class instruction, made it clear that Virtual Science Teachers was meeting a need.  Suzanne realized that, thanks to dramatic increase in student computer use and internet access, we have a new opportunity to bring engaging interactive learning experiences into every science classroom.  So, Suzanne registered Virtual Science Teachers as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is now working with an incredible team of professionals with the mission of making science learning equitable by providing free science learning resources that teachers and students love. Dan E. Hendrickson Shares His Adventure Novel - Brandy: Ballad of a Pirate Princess. This is episode 547 of Teaching Learning Leading K12, an audio podcast. Dan Hendrickson was born in Sheridan Wyoming in 1962 near the rustic Big Horn Mountain range to Carl and Helen Hendrickson. He went to school in the Sheridan School District graduating from Sheridan High School in 1981. He was an avid participant in boxing, martial arts, wrestling, and track. His father owned a small eight lane bowling alley that he ran until Dan was 12 years old. Carl also had a master's degree in English and loved to write poetry and plays. Dan picked up on his father's love for the written word and enrolled in Casper Community College in 1982 majoring in journalism. Although he found that he had an aptitude for investigative reporting, he decided that his interests were in other areas. He went on to do much volunteer Christian ministry work throughout the United States most of his adult life and continues to pursue those endeavors to this day. During that time, he gained another degree in Practical Theology. Throughout his many ministry assignments, he also worked several secular jobs. Some of his work experience includes law enforcement, security, emergency medical technician, and firefighting. He also helped run a Martial Arts School where he was a senior instructor. Most notable of his work experience is his auto detailing endeavors. He and his wife, Cheryl, have owned three different auto detailing businesses throughout the country, the last of which they still run to this day. This is my second visit with Dan…on episode 507 we talked about his novel - The Living Legend: A Last Enemy Prequel. Today we are talking about his adventure - Brandy - Ballad of a Pirate Princess. Kathy J. Forti, PhD shares her sci-fi novels - Stacks: The Library of Truth & Stacks: Awakening Truth. This is episode 545 of Teaching Learning Leading K12, an audio podcast. Kathy Forti, Ph.D. is the author of the newly released Truth Book Series: STACKS Library of Truth and STACKS Awakening Truth, a sci-fi thriller which takes place in Washington, D.C.'s Library of Congress, where a library employee accidentally opens up an interdimensional portal into a library within a library, where all truth is stored.  Prior to penning her novels, she was a clinical psychologist with over 30 years of experience in the mental health field. Her knowledge of psychopathology adds unusual character depth to her stories. As a direct result of her own near-death experience in 2003, where her heart stopped, Forti became more creative. This led to the development and patent of the Trinfinity8 and Ascension11 Energetic software technology, now used by holistic healing practitioners worldwide.   With a degree in journalism, she worked for several years as an associate producer for CBS-TV. She also wrote a TV pilot script for STACKS that won a Slamdance Teleplay Award. She launched, with the help of Pacific Rock Productions, which was led by an Emmy-winning producer, an original 11-part web series called STACKS The Truth Can Kill You. She has authored a non-fiction book as well: Fractals of God: A Psychologist's Near-Death Experience & Journeys Into the Mystical, and a children's book series: Freddie Brenner's Mystical Adventures. Forti is a blogger and was a keynote speaker for NEXUS Magazine in Australia in 2010 and 2015. She addresses subjects related to health, consciousness, spirituality and the weird and wonderful. For years, she has been leading ancient mystery school groups to Egypt, having explored the water tunnels under the Great Pyramid, as well as closed-off tunnels under the Sphinx. Sometimes referred to as “a female Indiana Jones” after finding alien artifacts in Mexico, she is, at heart, an ancient explorer of the origins of humanity.  Born in Chicago, Kathy has called many cities her home, including New York City, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Kansas, and Prescott, Arizona. She currently resides in Maui, Hawaii. For more information, please consult: https://stackslibraryoftruth.com/ Awesome stories! Awesome conversation! Before you go... Could you do me a favor? Michelle Slater is a scholar of comparative literature and president of the educational nonprofit Mayapple Center for the Arts and Humanities in Connecticut. She holds a Ph.D. in French literature from Johns Hopkins University. Her long battle with and recovery from late-stage neurological Lyme disease served as the genesis for this book. Debilitated by the disease to the extent that she was no longer able to teach at her university or perform simple tasks like driving and reading, Slater spent several years pursuing every known treatment, from aggressive allopathic methods to holistic remedies. When all failed to deliver recovery, she discovered Dr. Sergey Filonov's dry fasting program and spent two months in Siberia under his care. She recovered completely from Lyme disease, regaining her memory and returning to researching, writing, hiking, and running. Since 2017, she has not experienced a single symptom.   Dr. Judith Peck talks about art, the world of art, and her novel: Naked Under the Lights. This is episode 528 of Teaching Learning Leading K12, an audio podcast. Dr. Judith Peck is Professor Emerita of Art, Ramapo College of New Jersey. She is author of several fiction and non-fiction works and a sculptor with work in eighty collections, including the Yale Gallery of Art, the Ghetto Fighters Museum in Israel, libraries, universities, and cultural and religious institutions here and abroad.  Dr. Peck holds a doctoral degree from New York University and two master's degrees from Columbia University. She is recipient of the 2020 Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and has completed the first draft of a 4th novel about an art therapist who helps solve a school shooting.  Judith grew up in Baltimore Maryland. She has four grown children and twelve grandchildren and resides in Mahwah, New Jersey.  Images and videos of her sculpture can be viewed at www.jpecksculpture.com.  Descriptions of her books can be seen at www.iapbooks.com Our focus today is on her novel … Naked Under the Lights The story is set in and around the iconic Art Students League in New York City where 20th Century stars of the art world studied and taught. Here, Bert Kossoff teaches painting when he is not cloistered in his studio. His wife Ruth defends her husband's distance and tolerates his infidelities for the sake of their daughter. Sonata at age 18, lacking purpose of her own, is drawn to the mystique of her father in his world of artists and models. In the struggle to find her way, Sonata encounters family secrets long concealed and later, one that tears open their lives, exposing the lies that have misled them, even as they sustained them. As each member of this shattered family finds a path to move forward, art itself—the urgency to create—is revealed as a force of its own. The terrain is confounding, where people searching for truth have learned to practice the art of illusion. Amazing conversation! So much to learn! Some extra information before you go...
