In each installment, Rob will explore a universal human theme through the power and emotional resonance of music. The inaugural episode explores loneliness, drawing on music from artists as diverse as Simon & Garfunkel, Fleetwood Mac, Steven Wilson, and Black Sabbath.

- Biohazard holder den godt kørende på albummet “State of the World Address”, mens bysbørnene Dog Eat Dog står for årets heavyhop-hit med “No Fronts”.

The late rocker's son Jack and his wife, Sharon, announced on 20 May at Licensing Expo, an event for brands in Las Vegas, that the family had partnered with tech companies Hyperreal and Proto Hologram to create an Ozzy Osbourne avatar. The Black Sabbath frontman died in July 2025 at the age of 76. “It's kind of scary how it's really very accurate,” Jack Osbourne told the audience at Licensing Expo. “He will exist digitally as himself for as long as we have computers. Technology has come such a long way to where it's almost drag and drop. You could shoot a template for a commercial … literally prompt what you want Digital Ozzy to do in that commercial and you just drop it in. It's that simple now.” Sharon Osbourne added: “We're going to take it all around the world. People can talk to him and he will talk back. “Elvis died 50 years ago and everybody knows Elvis. Why is Live Evil still one of the most controversial live albums in heavy metal history? In this highlight from Booked On Rock, author Chris Sutton breaks down the legendary tension surrounding Live Evil and the collapse of the original Dio-era lineup of Black Sabbath. From accusations of secret late-night remixing sessions to criticism over the album's production and crowd sound, Chris explores how mistrust between Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Vinny Appice turned a live album into a full-blown band war.Chris Sutton is the author of Black Sabbath: The Dio Years (On Track Shorts), which explores the albums, songs, and legacy of one of Sabbath's most celebrated eras.

Summer officially arrived the second a teenager accepted cash to shave off his broccoli haircut in somebody's garage like it was a shady underground stock trade. This episode of The Rizzuto Show starts with a parenting moment every adult secretly fears: your kid walks into the house saying, “Dad… I think I messed up.” Naturally, everyone assumes the car exploded or someone got arrested. Nope. Just a fresh buzzcut and instant regret.Apparently the new trend among teenage dudes is sacrificing their curls for gas money, construction jobs, or whatever weird social experiment Gen Z is running this week. The gang debates whether the broccoli boys are evolving, devolving, or accidentally forming a 1998 nu-metal tribute band. There's also concern over sunscreen, dating prospects, and whether moms are legally allowed to roast their sons immediately after a haircut disaster. Then things somehow get even more chaotic with the return of the “Three Song Challenge,” where listeners have exactly seconds to identify legendary bands based on three song titles. Sounds easy, right? Apparently not. Friday's contestants embarrassed the entire listening audience, so this episode becomes a redemption tour for humanity itself. The daily comedy show spirals through rounds featuring Pearl Jam, Def Leppard, Van Halen, Soundgarden, Blink-182, Black Sabbath, Stone Temple Pilots, Journey, Weezer, Rage Against The Machine, CCR, Smashing Pumpkins, Mötley Crüe, No Doubt, Iron Maiden, Incubus, ZZ Top, and Beastie Boys. Some callers absolutely dominate. Others sound like they've never heard music before despite living on Earth their entire lives. There are screaming kids in the background, accidental team-ups between callers, confusion, panic, and enough rock nostalgia to make your uncle punch drywall in excitement. It's basically what happens when a funny podcast combines classic rock radio, family dysfunction, and game show pressure into one beautiful trainwreck. The gang also teases discussions about dating costs, modern beauty standards, and whether the legendary “dad bod” was ever truly appreciated or if society just gaslit average men for several years. Tough questions get asked. Few answers arrive. If you love a comedy podcast loaded with sarcastic humor, music references, weird trends, parenting fails, St. Louis chaos, and daily nonsense that somehow feels therapeutic, this episode delivers all of it. This daily comedy show continues proving that absolutely nobody has things figured out — especially not the people hosting it.And honestly? If somebody offers you $50 to shave your head this summer… negotiate harder.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

What happens when Ozzy Osbourne leaves the biggest heavy metal band in the world? In this episode highlight, author Chris Sutton explores the uncertain period when Ronnie James Dio stepped into Black Sabbath and completely changed the band's future. Chris discusses his first impressions of the Dio lineup, whether Sabbath could have survived without Ozzy, and the long-running debate over whether Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward, and Dio should have continued under the Black Sabbath name at all. The conversation also dives into the impact of Heaven and Hell, the chemistry of the new lineup, and why the Dio era remains one of the most passionately debated chapters in rock history.

Armored Saint guitarist Jeff Duncan pulls into the Krazy Train and Jasmin St. Claire is ready — because when one of heavy metal's most enduring bands drops a ninth studio album, you don't phone in the conversation. Emotion Factory Reset is out and Duncan breaks it all down — the writing process, the concept behind the new videos "Close To The Bone" and "Hit A Moonshot" including the real-life fighters who inspired it, and what it means for a band that has been together this long to still be making music that hits this hard. He gets into Armored Saint's legendary relationship with Metal Blade Records and founder Brian Slagel, why a brotherhood built in the early 80s Los Angeles metal scene is still standing when almost everything else from that era has fallen apart, and what playing the Rainbow Bar & Grill's 54th anniversary show felt like for a man who grew up on Black Sabbath, Kiss, Van Halen, and Judas Priest.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This episode is one for the ages!We discuss the Barlow Family General Store, our mental health as teenagers listening to hardcore punk, Au Pairs & Bush Tetras, sending cash in the mail to get punk records, our early teenage jobs, Renaldo & The Loaf, selling out, Exodus and the Bay Area metal scene, anti-metal stances, Lou being in the crosshairs for being transgressive with his music and attitude, how Lou shot the Sebadoh tour video with in-camera editing, living like a sub-human during the early Dinosaur Jr. days, is Metallica's Kill Em All actually a power pop masterpiece, Lou wanting Sentridoh to push listeners' buttons, how dark the Pantera VHS tape is and how it shines a light on America at the time, Am Rep, shaving your head for Pantera, the genius editing and montages created by the late Dimebag Darrell in Vulgar Video, the Skid Row crossover VHS tape, why Portland Sebadoh shows were so fully charged with antagonism, Black Sabbath, the Gaffney peach, and more for this lop-sided celebration of all things that make up Revolutions Per Movie!!!LOU BARLOW:SEBADOH 1993 TOUR VIDEO : youtube.com/watch?v=unRC0O9jOzI&t=148sMICROJAMMIN' JERK (1995 SEBADOH TOUR) : youtube.com/watch?v=239Y4wlt9xQbarlowfamilygeneralstore.comloubarlow.bandcamp.com/PANTERA: VULGAR VIDEO : youtube.com/watch?v=uvlaDaa0ycAREVOLUTIONS PER MOVIE:Host Chris Slusarenko (Eyelids, Guided By Voices, owner of Clinton Street Video rental store) is joined by actors, musicians, comedians, writers & directors who each week pick out their favorite music documentary, musical, music-themed fiction film, or music videos to discuss. 1. "Together Again" When it comes to the Wisconsin-born John McCutcheon and the Chicago-born Tom Paxton, there's no way to condense their amazing careers into a three-minute introduction, but that's the challenge I have before me, so I'm going to do the best I can. Putting it simply, McCutcheon and Paxton are two of the most towering figures in the history of folk music. Let's start with McCutcheon. He's recorded close to fifty albums, he's got six Grammy nominations, he's written three children's books and he's played shows all over the world. McCutcheon is a master of the hammered dulcimer and he also plays banjo, jaw harp, and the fiddle. As for Mr. Paxton, he's recorded close to seventy albums, received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, authored close to 20 books, had one of his songs used in a Monty Python episode and toured around the world. He even played a show with Black Sabbath. More on that in a minute. McCutcheon and Paxton's friendship is a glorious thing and their musical partnership has yielded two albums, including their latest effort, the absolutely marvelous Together Again. I think of Paxton and McCutcheon as the Steve Martin and Martin Short of folk music and here's why. Their creative partnership has ignited them both in new and rejuvenating ways. And Together Again offers great evidence of this--filled with lyrical economy and precision as well as musical finesse played with dexterity and grace, this is an album of tremendous depth and sensitivity. And this conversation is one of my recent favorites--it goes everywhere and yet it comes right back. It is with heavy hearts that we deliver this week's episode honoring the passing of another guitar hero giant whose riffs were mighty enough to support Lemmy: Phil Campbell. He was a guitarist who rarely got mentioned in the circles of recognized guitar greats, but his playing on 16 Motörhead albums provides all the badass-guitarist validation needed. Best known as Lemmy's right-hand guy, he also released 3 fantastic albums with his 3 sons as Phil Campbell & The Bastard Sons. We pay tribute to this amazing Welsh guitarist and celebrate his entire discography! Rest in power, Phil! New to InObscuria? Typically, what we do is exhume obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal in one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. Rest In Peace, Phil. “This is the 80's before the 80's was the 80's…” Released April 18, 1980, HEAVEN AND HELL, the 9th studio album by BLACK SABBATH (and the first to feature Ronnie James Dio on vocals), marks a simultaneous sonic departure and rebirth for the Godfathers of Metal. While some would argue that it sounds more like RJD's solo output and NOTHING like the Sabbath of the 70's, HEAVEN AND HELL is more than just “the next Sabbath album”. Featuring fantastical & medieval lyrical themes coupled with a revitalized songwriting style and renewed vigor, HEAVEN AND HELL is a brilliant example of how a band in desperate need of a “heavy metal makeover” can completely reinvent their sound and expand their artistic palette to accommodate a brand-new chapter for a brand-new decade. If you've got questions, we've got answers! Check out our newest segment, “ASK THE METALHEAD”. Find out who might just be “the Yoda of metal”, discover which song absolutely must be played on misty mornings, and realize that “the anxiety of being around family” can only be rivaled by the disturbingly high readings captured on the “goddamnometer” when you JOIN US from The Bunkerpoon Center for Metal Excellence as we celebrate 46 years of the BLACK SABBATH Mark II lineup with HEAVEN AND HELL. Who's your favorite band that replaced their lead singer? Were they still your favorite with the new singer? Me neither! Today, Shayne, Jay, and Tim discuss every band change we can think of. And if you leave us a 5‑star review, we'll replace absolutely no one.~~~~~~~Here's what our house elf, Artie (not Archie), says about this round: This round rocks harder than AC/DC after a singer swap. The guys debate Van Halen's two eras, AC/DC's seamless transition, Judas Priest's Ripper moment, and whether Journey is still Journey if only one dude from Journey is in Journey. They also wander into Genesis, Tears for Fears, Alice in Chains, Foreigner, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and even the Temptations, proving no genre is safe from a good Beer Thursday tangent. If you love band drama, vocal‑cord longevity contests, or hearing grown men argue about who can still hit the high notes, this round is your backstage pass.~~~~~~~Disclosure: I don't really have a house elf. Scott Vogel, frontman of Terror, joins the crew for Episode 10, before heading out on a six-and-a-half-week North American tour behind Terror's new record Still Suffer. What starts as a technical difficulty turns into an instant PTT classic moment. Once connected, Scott and Vinnie go deep on the parallels between hardcore and hip hop culture, tracing their origins from Black Sabbath and Run DMC to Agnostic Front and DITC. The conversation covers Scott's upbringing in Buffalo, his stepbrother Jay as the gateway to everything, the early days of Slugfest and Buried Alive, and how those scenes mirror each other more than most people realize. After he signs off, the crew hits the mailbag — including pointed feedback about Brendan's background art choices — and gets into the unwritten rules of barbershop culture, the business of underground music, and why the "gift and the curse" of recognition hits differently at this level.Remember to like, review, comment, and subscribe to the show!

This week we dive into one of rock's most hysterical and revealing cultural flashpoints: the Satanic Panic. From Robert Johnson crossroads mythology and Screamin' Jay Hawkins to Black Sabbath, KISS, Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Slayer, and beyond, we trace how devil imagery, shock rock, media fearmongering, church protests, and moral crusades helped turn hard rock and metal into public enemy number one. We get into the Peters Brothers and the anti-rock movement, KISS concert protests, the PMRC hearing, the Filthy Fifteen, Richard Ramirez and AC/DC, the Judas Priest backmasking trial, Norwegian black metal church burnings, and the later scapegoating of Marilyn Manson after Columbine. We also follow the thread into more modern acts like Ghost, The Pretty Reckless, and Twin Temple, showing how Satanic imagery evolved from public scandal into branding, theater, provocation, and pop culture tradition. If you've ever wondered how rock music became the target of preachers, parents, politicians, and nightly news panic, this is the episode for you. What are your memories of Satanic Panic and what impact do you think it had? Let us know in the comments. We hope you enjoy Episode 666 - Satanic Panic.
